Horror Boogie has combined two firm favourites for the fourth release. Sick of techno taking itself too seriously, 3D!T aka Ed Giles decided to start writing music that was different to the endless sea of uninteresting records on offer, injecting large doses of humour and originality to his sound. Ed is an integral part of the wonky scene, earning his solid reputation and major respect through releases on Ugly Funk, Shed, Don't, Coin Op, Miditonal and with his insane live sets of glitchy, breaky, wobbly, jacking, warped techno.
A1 - 'Giant Chickens' has been a big track in his live sets for some time now. This carnival of wonk always sets the crowd off.
A2 - 'The Thing' is a bass heavy, driving track with intense ravey stabs. Formerly one half of Queaver and Versis, who had several big releases, most notably on Miditonal and were known for their crazy hardware live sets, Queaver keeps the typical Q&V sound alive enlarged with analog synthesizers and 8-bit sounds coming from the classic paddle game boy.
B1 - 'Yeah or !' is a slice of great jacking techno, with it's skippy hats and stabs that have an almost Detroit-esque feel to them.
B2 - 'Work Me' is a pounding, peak-time jacking monster, with slamming kicks and that trademark Queaver sound.

"Abjura Detesta" its a 2 tracks EP which comes along with remixes from the Canadian duo Orphx and label owner P.E.A.R.L.

Following on from the debut release (the storming 'The Run' by Japanese based Hiroaki Iizuka), is a single in the same format of two original tracks and one remix. This time heading up the production is Portugal based producer Cardopusher, with the remix supplied by Londoner JoeFarr.
We've been listening to Cardopusher for years and have called ourselves fans throughout the various incarnations of his sound, from the breakcore days, his moment in the emerging dubstep scene and more recently, his dancefloor techno.

The lead track of this release, also the first track on side A of the vinyl, is entitled Mindwarp. Mindwarp is a four to the floor acid stomper, thundering through its track length in abrasive and uncompromising style. A straight up club banger for the techno scene executed with veteran knowhow

The second track on the release is Street Jack, which also shares the A side of the vinyl. Street Jack is a sleek club tool inspired by oldskool Detroit hardware techno. Bright cymbals and hammering claps provide the percussive framework to make this one perfect for a dancefloor workout, as a vocal and synth hook follow on from each other. This one is bound to be the favourite of people after less aggression than Mindwarp without losing any of the energy.

The final track on the release is a JoeFarr remix of Dehydrated, which comprises the only track on the 45rpm B-side of the vinyl. A man on fire at the moment, JoeFarr offers a different style to the original tracks, with a disjointed two step rhythm on which he hangs the remix. He manages to bring a dynamic range of ideas from this rhythm, from the driving rave hook of the main section to the reflective melancholia of the breakdown, making his track suited to both peak time dancefloor sustenance and good home listening.

Them is a record label and event series based in London born from a shared culture of VHS nasties, pirate radio, raves and varied underground electronic music is pleased to present its second label release.

A new Surface related label from Charlton Ravenberg aka Tapirus and Surface boss Nick Dunton aka 65D Mavericks / Ever Vivid focusing on the more experimental side of industrial / acid / house / techno and electro

The first EP comes from the highly talented Dutch producer Vincent Koreman aka Drvg Cvltvre and comes backed with a heavy remix from Sound Signature's mighty Specter

Having been in various black metal and punk bands Drvg Cvltvre has also produced electronic music for the last 20 years appearing on labels like Bunker and KK Records from the Nineties onwards under his legendary Ra-x moniker amongst others while recently appearing on shipwrec. He also has material forthcoming on the mysterious MOS offshoot COS MOS - his quality of output speaks for itself...

Preferring to operate in the shadows and opting for hard work and experimentalism rather than a hollow pose, Vincent works with a variety of home made instruments and digital aliasing devices and has managed to craft a sound that is really something rather special, touching on the early blueprints of acid house, techno and industrial but somehow managing to channel it into something entirely different.
Showing a uniqueness in sound and a love for the craft that can at times be sadly lacking in the music industry, Drvg Cvltvre has come up with a postmodern apocalyptic sound of a future past...

We are very happy to finally share with you our first release of 2016 as we bring our second Italian artist onto EarToGround.

'Ness' also known as Andrea Deplano first caught our attention with his seminal track 'Neuronic' which came out in late 2014 on Pole Group - Soon after that release he started work on a full Ep for EarToGround.

The tracks included here have been specially made for this release and individually display his excellent dynamic range, sound design and unique take on techno. They have been tried and tested in the best situations, always getting an excellent crowd response - you'll find a place in a set for all the tracks featured here.

For our next four releases we welcome back one of our original graphic designers 'Grade A'. We feel the audio and visual here match perfectly.

For their first EP, Palma deliver a mixture of fast and melodic techno. Composed in the heat of the summer and the moistness of a tiny room transformed into a studio, the three musicians handle drum machines, sound modules and effects to re-interprate 3 tracks from their previous live set. The A side is minimal and discrete, while providing with a strong theme. On the B side, Palma show a more powerful angle to their music with heavy stabs, acid basslines and pounding drums. After the success of 'A Is For Acid' Perc Trax Ltd continues with first ever collaboration between the London brutalist dream team of label boss Perc and regular Perc Trax artist Truss (R&S, Avian, OCS) for an EP of no-bullshit, hardware based techno.

3-tracks, each recorded fully live in one-take. No second attempts, no re-edits and no processing of the tracks after they were recorded. Add mastering by Matt Colton and you have one of the rawest techno EPs in recent memory.

'Repetition Reinforcement' is a chilling reminder of Consumer Electronics' brute, incisive force and reaffirms their unique position in today's extreme electronic music.The long-running alias of former Whitehouse agitator, Philip Best, and now featuring vocals and music by Sarah Froelich & n0!se pioneer Russell Haswell, Consumer Electronics hold steadfast to an unflinching observation of, and reflection on, contemporary British culture, recently exemplified in the coarse noise techno rants of 'Estuary English' (Dirter Promotions, 2014). On both these new songs, though, Best's lyrics and delivery distil his bracing vitriol to nerveshredding degrees, trading the explicit rage of 'Estuary English' for hushed, under-the-skin implication, aided by Sarah Froelich's deadpan vocal and Haswell's streamlined, but ever visceral, frequency fxxkery. 'Murder The Masters' cuts right to the bone, (w)rapping a disaffected tirade in deeply unsettling, over-the-shoulder tones, skeletal techno kicks and clammy atmospheres. You can practically smell Best's breath on your neck.'Alien Existence' follows suit, swapping volume for skin-crawling intimacy. Here he shares vocals with Froelich in a probing dialectic of sexual politics smeared against sagging kicks and looking glass synth discord.Put simply, few other c*nts have the balls to broach this topic: best left to Best and co..

* Following up swiftly from the fantastically wide screen Forgetting EP, is a killer slice of Djrum dancefloor pressure. Over two tracks, we hear his classic combination of tough drums over ladened with colour, texture and attitude.

* 'LA' is dominated by its off kilter melody motif, a minor key piano line which evokes classic rave with all of its euphoric intonation and impact. But there is more, a big fan of strings in his music, in comes a superb violin line rich with melancholy and yearning but with a tist of hope at the end of its phrasing, once again adding another dimension to a track which is some much more than a sum of its parts.

* 'Abandon Me' is a superb mixture of classic rave, jungle and dusty techno, 3 sounds you'll always find in his notorious DJ sets. The track twists and turns throughout, shifting drum patterns combine perfectly with otherworldly synths lines, before really settling into a tough, driving groove 3 and half minutes into pulse on until its conclusion.

* On artwork duties is a unique and compelling artist from Tel Aviv. We stumbled across the bold and challenging abstractions of Klone Yourself on Instagram, immediately connectiong with this visionary and confornatational artist who's surreal tone is often offset pefectly by his simple yet striking imagery.

Möd3rn is a global project from 3 wellknown artists who wanted to give a side project from their own solo career. It's a band, producing, playing live but it's also a label created only for the trio productions. Each releases will propose 3 tracks from the 3 artists. For that first one the famous trio propose 3 huges bombs Mö4, Mö5 and Mö6, 3 huge techno killer using rough skins with raw edit. Speech less and listen to that we can call Pure TEchno.
While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.
The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. Of the distinct identities merely remains the ethereal, synthetic essence devoted to the group, and the common musical passion that leads it. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies. The potion obtained is irresistible, an ecstatic hybrid, prodigiously actual, that renders all the genre's diversity and dynamism.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

For Record Store Day 2016 , We thought of what to release to be special and decided a remix ep would be something good So here are four remixes that made some noise.

Cirkutry - EP1 is a big fucking record. It that knocks about like Probe's discography when it has just has fallen off your record shelf and splintered into three-hundred thirteen pieces. The rise of Lehar continues. Together with his brothers in mind Musumeci and Olderic, he has recently formed a highly visible team closely connected to Connaisseur and reinforced by their new weekly radio-show "The Sound Of Connaisseur' on Ibiza Global Radio. Now it is time for new music. After his tremendous debut EP "Sargas' and his uber-remix for Of Norway feat. Linnea Dale's "Spirit Lights', he presents his next strike with the 4-tracker "Flora & Zephyr'. Named after the mythological love couple Flora, the Sabine-derive goddess of flowers and of the season of spring and her husband Zephyr, son of the titans Astraios und Eos, Lehar wanted to transport this passion- and romantic-laden story into his new release. With the beatless intro track "In Ipnosi' Lehar kicks off the release. A wonderful hypnotic affair with strong synths and shimmering percussions. Next up is the majestic "Zephyr", a real titan of a track, with a strong groove and demanding chords. It has a cleansing and meditational impact, letting you dream while triggering an inner and outer movement. On the flip-side, with "Horizon' Lehar presents a collaboration with Musumeci, who just got ennobled as "The future of Italian House Music' by Kristian from Âme for his other project combo "Human Machine'. Monika Kruse enjoys a very productive year so far with releases in collaboration with Gregor Tresher (as GTMK) and Pig&Dan but now it's time for her first solo single in 2014.

Jordan Peak's Rogue Society imprint gets straight back into action after taking a year off with a seriously heavyweight package. London producer and dj Sam Russo known for his outings on respected house and techno labels such as Leftroom, Vitalik, Fear Of Flying and air london provides us with three stellar tracks that showcase his impeccable production skills.

The release also comes backed with high quality remixes from Fachwerk head honcho and Delsin regular Mike Dehnert, who takes a tougher approach and turns Therapy into a thundering techno tool while Chicago born Malmö native Amir Alexander changes the tone of That's What He Did On Sunday' into something much deeper and emotive than Sam's original adding variety and depth to another impressive release from the label.

Centrifuge EP Part 2 is the second vinyl release on this hardgroove techno German label. One more time with Creme de la Creme of hardgroove's best music producers. Second part of Centrifuge EP contains remixes from F.Tek, DJ Brutec, Eric Sand and Mark Malle. Mr. F.Tek is bringing to our ears a really good hardgroove beat with heavy kicks and nice percussions. DJ Brutec remix sounds as always great. Heavy kicks, heavy hihats and dark percussions for a real good hardgroove sound, definitely a club burner. Eric Sand's remix is one of the best remixes on Centrifuge EP's. His killer bass and hihats are destroying every sound system, definitely one great track for every hardgroove fan. Mark Malle's remix is more progressive and with his bpm under 130 perfect for afterpartys or chillin. Overlord of Polish techno, FOQL, drops 2 originals and 2 remixes on this tape. Slabs of heavy, doomed out techno get complimented by remixes by Tapirus (aka CHARLTON) and the mighty German techno duo Fallbeil. Peak hour madness.

Martin's Escape From South Warren LP will arrive on October 5th on the label operated by Frank Juncaj, AKA DJ 3000. Juncaj calls Martin an "unsung hero of Detroit techno" and cites his label, Teknotika Records, which has been running since 1993, as a key influence. The first remix EP, due out September 21st, features reworks by Robert Hood and DJ 3000 in addition to two original cuts. Mark Broom and Rolando contribute to the second EP, which arrives on October 12th.

Tripping, raw deep techno from Berlin's Grounded Theory main man.

Imagine you are being invited to the studio of a visionary, and get to discover some brand new futuristic experiments along with tracks made 25 years ago that sound as if they've been made yesterday. Well that's what the careful listener who plunges himself in the album from start to finish should feel like. It is not very common to display a tracklisting that ranges through three decades, and call it an album. However, all of the music here is unpublished, exclusive, unreleased... It is also extremely rare to encounter artists that have never taken a break from studio creation, and this unbroken continuum is probably the reason why there is no relevance to any chronological classification of his work. The intent in the beginning, was to focus on the more recent, experimental side of In Aeternam Vale's work, and to look at his work through an angle that would be complementary to some recent techno releases on Jealous God or 80's gems on Minimal Wave. Only, a few visits to his studio in Lyon were decisive. Imagine seeing the history of 30 years of electronic music flash through your ears, just in a few hours. 'IAV' has been exploring new grounds and sometimes even pioneering new styles and subgenres several times, with literally hundreds of tracks to listen to. Words are not enough to describe this record's digger absolute dream : the discovery of a secret parallel universe where so much music has been created and kept under the radar. Playing live, IAV is quite notorious for hoisting his modular cases above his head in fiery resonant solos, as if an electric guitar. Rumor has it, a few live performances have gone absolutely wild lately. Laurent has lost nothing of the raw punk energy of his youth.

Roberto finally debuts on Be As One after having recently joined the label booking agency and main core, and he does it with style. For those that have been keeping an ear on the UK techno sound Roberto should not be a new name by now, having released a series of well received EPs on Artform and Affin, and being a resident at London's legendary Fabric club. French producer Anetha delivers four hypnotic techno cuts in her debut EP on Spencer Parker's Work Them Records.
Resident at monthly Parisian party series BLOCAUS when not gracing the likes of Concrete Paris, Weather Paris, Tresor Berlin and London's Corsica Studios, Anetha has become a core member of the thriving French techno scene in recent years.
'Black Widow' begins with a syncopated kick and chugging synth line, before 'Orchid's Curse' delivers piercing percussion and an infectious 303. 'Last Evening' then ventures into mesmerising territories with its tantalising atmospherics, until 'Drive With A Dead Girl' conjures a sullen vibe through the use of arpeggiated notes and poignant moans. Dustin Zahn has gained over 10 years of experience a unique musical diversity as a producer and as a performer. After his recent release on Drumcode he is on Suara with this enormous EP. "Calm Like A Bomb" is a constant and regular bomb dropping that if you start dancing it will leave you exhausted. It's such a powerful track! This amazing track comes backed with two remixes from two of the best producers in the worldwide scene: Paco Osuna and Slam. Osuna does an incredible groovier and darker production while Slam brings the cut to another techno level. This is definetely one of the EPs of the year!

Sweet first 12 by J.C. and NX1!

Following a string of well-received outings for the project on his own Black Catalogue label, Monty Luke debuts his Mandingo alias on Matt Edwards' Rekids with the 'Parallel Universe EP'.

Firmly establishing himself as a brightly talented producer, DJ and A&R over the past eight years with releases on Planet E and Mothership in addition to his own Detroit-based imprint, the San Franciscan's three tracks offer alternate perspectives on his richly honed sound, drawing on influences from his homes old and new as well as further afield, such as the hybrid electronic sounds of London and Bristol.

Gynoid Audio maintains it's LTD Series with a new split EP containing much character, coarse-grained attitude, thrilling sequences and delightful soul. On one side we have the follow up of the "Procurators" by Mattias Fridell, exquisitely paired with a mechanically grooving remix by Tomohiko Sagae. Turning the plate reveals the minimalistic and focused purist techno cut by Future 16, the "Filaments PT4". Who else would be better suited to put a soulful and zealous twist on the latter than Zadig Obviously no one. Hopefully you'll enjoy this package of music as much as we did assembling it!

Dark Entries Editions is venturing into new waters with a remix EP of Psychic TV's classic Acid House song 'Alien Be-In'. Psychic TV was formed by Genesis P-Orridge and Peter Christopherson after the breakup of Throbbing Gristle in 1981. After various line up changes, the band shifted direction to dance oriented songs influenced by the Acid House scene in America. By 1988 experimental electronic musician Fred Giannelli, of Turning Shrines, joined the band and over the next 2 years started to record songs for 'Toward The Infinite Beat'. The album was a mix of deep, multilayered tracks full of bright and hypnotic dance numbers, providing the soundtrack to the rave culture that sprung up in the UK in the 90s.

'Alien Be-In' was written in early 1989 on an E-mu Emax Sampler and an Alesis MMT-8 sequencer. Vocal samples were taken from a tape American investigative reporter Don Bolles sent to Genesis. A didgeridoo rides throughout the song, heavily modulated by a Gristleizer creating a hypnotic effect. Near the end of the song the breakbeat slides out of time yet the band chose to leave this in because it sounded strange and fit the concept of the track. Genesis played a spaced out Echo Violin and the band used 360 degree panning rotation devices. For this reissue Fred Giannelli takes a stab at remixing the mono mix of the original sequence sourced from the Emax floppy discs. On the flip are two brand new mixes, the first from Los Angeles based producer, Silent Servant, who updates the classic with his modern brand of driving EBM techno. The second remix is a team effort from Silent Servant and veteran producer John Tejada, that re-creates the original melody using a Roland TR-808 and TB-303, paying homage to early Chicago Acid House artists like Lil Louis and Robert Owens.

All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The 12' is housed in a mind-alerting, metallic silver die-cut sleeve and a neon green label that pops through, featuring the psychic skull transformed into an alien cone head label all designed by Eloise Leigh. Each copy includes a 2-sided 11x11 square insert with black and white photo of the band from 1988 and liner notes by Fred Giannelli.

Following the release of his critically acclaimed album, Crossed Paths, Shifted's next release on Mote-Evolver is the incendiary Razors EP.

The EP opens with title track 'Razors' a six minute odyssey. Sounds are layered one on top of another and create a strictly cyclical structure. Shaking, rattling sounds helicopter overhead, syncopated noise unfurls in the mid-ground and underneath hypnotic beats are laid down relentlessly. It's a dizzying combination.

Following on from this disorientation 'Over' ratchets up the BPM and rules it with an iron fist. This is merciless techno that's full of intelligent details. Out of nowhere jangling blips and bleeps collide with feral bass. Shifted is no stranger to creating dance floor optimised cuts and 'Over' is the sound of a producer with a very finely honed craft.

The flip side begins with 'Bloodless' a title that suggests cold hearted, zestless deeds and a track that is ironically anything but bloodless. Rendered in twisted beats and synthesised noise there's a cautionary tale to be heard, a warning about shiny surfaces that conceal deadening agendas.

The EP closes with the unsettlingly 'Trouble'. It's just as likely to have you listening reclined, with your eyes closed, as it is to leave you slightly paranoid looking over your shoulder. The palette is stripped back giving rise to psychologically charged atmospherica. 'Trouble' leaves you with far more questions than it answers.

refined electronic experiments next to broken beats and strange atmospherica aside
lethal dance cuts.

2016 sees Label boss Aubrey release his first full ep on Solid Groove since 2003. A1-Time level bypass is a peak time 12 min long bass groove with alien noises throughout. B1 Rangoose, is a unreleased track originally made by Aubrey in 1998, heavy in nature for the purists. B2-Mf-104 is a 120bpm deep house track more suited for a 7am play, with lush echos from the rare Moogerfooger MF-104 delay limited to just over 500 units made.

As label bosses of Lucidflow and Klartraum themselves, Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch are afforded the luxury of dictating their music vision as they wish. This culminated in last year's Secret Moon, the second studio album of the pairing, focussing on their fluid dub laden house grooves. This year has the other major benefit of being label bosses come in to play, with the Secret Moon remix project seeing friends and inspirations drafted in to contribute.


Along with the immense digital package (which sees huge talent in the shape of Of Norway, Saytek, Trinity & Beyond, UGLH, Corrie Loi, G. Pal, Mirza-Zadeh, Weisses Licht, Ricciciomoto and The Messenger chipping in), Lucidflow are releasing vinyl only editions from the remix LP. Joining Alexi Delano, D. Diggler and David Alvarado from the first 12', are Ian Pooley, Weisses Licht and Vince Watson.


Diving Deep sees a downtempo deep dub interpretation from Weisses Licht, retaining the warmth of the original rather than choosing to be alien and gaseous. While Ian Pooley continues with the deep theme, his version is more direct, each dub twang on the beat driving the track on and acting as a firm foundation for the easy going keys.


Emotive electronic maestro Vince Watson is tasked with tackling Map Of Truth, turning in a balearic coastal groove, reminiscent of Chicane's seminal reworking of Furry Freaks. Finally, the original of the deep as you like Sell Your Soul is included; cunning looped vocal snippets and warm undulating textures provide the setting for an 80's influenced keyboard solo.


Part one of the wax edition has already seen huge support from major entities such as Laurent Garnier, Ivan Smagghe, Black Strobe, Dubfire, Seth Troxler, Luciano, Slam and Hernan Cattaneo. Part two seems certain to continue this trend, and whet the appetite for remaining parts of the package.

ORPHAN SWORDS is a Brussels-based duo that crafts some of the most menacing modern electronics in the game, according to Electronic Beats. Bas Amro can be quite the chameleon as he has acquired a mastery over various sub genres of electronic music. Already a veteran of Wolfskuil Limited, Bas Amro returns for his sophomore EP on the label with 'Dissociation' which will be released on January 15. His sound is deep, profound and delicately crafted with the serious groove always residing in the underlying pulsating bass. 'Imposter Persona' opens the EP with a melancholic energy exuding from its pores as the jumpy baseline provokes fancy footwork on the dance floor. On the flip side 'Dissociation' unfolds gently, building slowly into a stride of quivering dub inspired chords, while the rhythmic pads of 'Defensive' on the other hand emanate vampy undertones which toy with the percussions of house track. All in all a contrastive energy from the Wolfskuil norm yet enthusiastically diversifying the label as a whole.

Balans welcomes back Swedish-born Staffan Linzatti for his second release on the Dutch imprint with Dividing in Two, an energetic two-track EP keeping consistent with the labels vision of delivering classic techno rhythms. 'Dizziness' opens the EP with a hypnotizing yet airy signal that captivates upon overture. Combined with a rolling bass and quintessential claps it is sure to enchant any listener. On side B, 'Clarity' takes a whole new direction opening straight into a fullblown kick and hihats that persist throughout the track.

"Simple Enough To Come True" (LAG005) is the debut solo E.P. from L.A.G. label boss Arthur Kimskii. The E.P. contains 3 cuts. Simple Enough is the emotional Big Room cut with trippy vocals and rolling bass and big kicks. She Survived playfully uses noise elements and reverb. The producer's NY/NJ influences really shine through in this deep house/techno cut.

A super Mystical ambiance 142 BPM track opens this EP. Downtempo tribe sound, with a hardcore stucture... Second tracks digs the reberbless tribe back home with a solid pumpin sound. Jeff Derringer's Ballorama E.P. is the fourth release from Brooklyn Born and now Berlin based label L.A.G. run by Arthur Kimskii. The E.P. contains two original tracks the from Chicago based techno producer/ Smart Bar resident with an additional dub version from the duo Cassegrain. Ballorama is the big room techno bomb with hints of 90's rave and house like chords and chops. Work Ethic is an emotional sci-fi roller with restrained emotional melodic tension anchored by rhythmic percussion. The Ballorama dub version strips down the original and expertly pans various noise and textures which bounces with tension.

Ah, yes! Finally some real flavours to sink our teeth into.

The nose is truly a work of art. First the classic peaty smoke but so distinctly understated.

Confident in it's maturity. The salty pineapple citrus is next coupled with a refined lemon- lime toffee tartness. And finally a whiff of fresh cucumber sprinkled with the loveliest of white pepper. Oh, yes. This is what we've been waiting for!

The creamy mouthfeel is laced with intense black peppers but then mellows out to give you honey, lemon and chocolate with a dash of tobacco. The long peppery finish is fruity with a hint of limestone.

NORD Records is welcoming DJ Guy on the label for their ninth record. The release is a double 12 inch with tracks produced in 1993-1997. DJ Guy was able to find and restore these tapes which results in a vinyl release from NORD.

Ressort Imprint label founder Ekserd finally steps out of the shades and delivers a more than hefty statement about his vision of Techno's sound.

Not only is 'The Hidden Documents' the debut of young Berlin-based artist Ekserd, it also marks the beginning of a new chapter for the label. More focused on it's own artist's output now, the two original productions follow the concept without the slightest hint of an excuse: 'Our Ressort is set to the dancefloor and nowhere else.' This being stated, I/Y and Svreca both add the final touch to this release with their very own takes on Ekserd's game-changing material.

Ibiza based Francisco Allendes makes a welcome return to Desolat for his next release, a fine EP that marks something of a new direction for the man across its four great tracks. First up, 2Agility Queen' is a raw bit of jacking house with clipped vocals offered up by Dance Mania's DJ DMC, bulky drums and classic cow bell tinkles all making for a sweaty and heavy house kicker . The rapped vocals that come in add plenty of flair to an already firing track. The brilliant Groundhog Day' is an off kilter, rave influenced tune with wordless voices, militant snare patterns and blasts of frazzled bass frequencies that cannot fail to energise any floor. On the flip, Flea Allergy' is another anxious cut of coarse hi hats, robotic and wordless vocals and slamming dreams that works you into a frenzy, then Aroa Leon' gets even more unhinged, lumpy and ghetto fried with its sleazy drums, jittery perc and kinetic sense of energy. This lively, arresting new EP is a fine new direction and sound for Francisco Allendes that never stays too far from the chunky Desolat blueprint we all know and love.

"Charlie Janiaut opens up a third way between physical energy and experiments on sound textures. The producer originally from Franche Comté has dusted his fingers on battle scratch and his playing with computer is totally instinct driven. Playing techno from the viewpoint of rap music, qoso's music is entirely based on samples and feeds on mistakes, frequency translation and a piling up of effects leaving space to randomness. The tracks on Printemps Ete were composed all at once and speak more to the body than the head - they're rhythm tracks as stated by Emotional, which opens the record where most electronic albums like to put a nice ambient track."

2015 is a groundbreaking year for Barem. New music, new live performances and the launch, together with Alexis Cabrera, of his very own record label, FUN, will see the Argentinian producer thrust back into the musical limelight. 

Circles is a full SCI+TEC debut for Barem and a release that perfectly encapsulates his current sound and style, as it evolves from the serious minimal soundtrack of previous years to a more emotive and smoother blend of house and techno. 

This combination is evident from the off with the fluid, pulsing and atmospheric title track Circles' and continues with the ambient cinematic tones of 'Break Me'.The groove-heavy 'A', a track that originally featured on Barem's 2011 Minus album 'After The Storm', delights as the digital exclusive on a package that's topped to perfection by a rare and epic rework of 'A' from label boss Dubfire, that centres around its wonderfully subtle, yet powerful bassline.

It's been just over a year since Cale Sexton emerged out of Melbourne's suburban sprawl into the centre of its thriving club scene, in which time the sets he's delivered from behind a nest of wires and hardware have gained recognition as some of Melbourne's most compelling and sought after. Moving across a vast terrain of reference points, Sexton constructs dense soundscapes held together by tight programming, all of this culminating in the powerful live delivery he's become known for. Though I suppose that the Japanese duo Steven Porter was not behind the four previous anonymous releases on Weevil Neighbourhood, their music fits very well with what this Berlin label has released so far. Pressed onto red vinyl in a hand-numbered edition of 300 copies are three tracks mixing background noise, gritty drones and, at times, a driving but modest dub techno beat. The result is quite mesmerizing, a lot deeper and more interesting that what you would expect by only reading this description, and confirms Weevil's acute hear for this kind of sound." "Sterling Techno abstractions from Japanese duo Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo for the enigmatic Weevil Neighbourhood. Judging from this debut single, we'd triangulate their sound somewhere between older Chain Reaction and Berlin Techno experiments but with a more squashed sense of pressure. The A-side is a bruised and oddly syncopated Dub-Techno groove at 116bpm, where swollen subs buoy creepy, creaking atmospheric space in churning, aqua-tech roll. Flipside is a grand and visceral piece of tempered digital noise a la Pan Sonic, plus a drowned and offbeat slab of sludgy, atmospheric suffocation, in the best possible sense, recalling recent Andy Stott moves." "(...). Finally we have one Steven Porter, of whom I never heard. He has three untitled pieces here, of which the first one is all about digital drone distortion that comes like a violent cascading wave. It's quite loud and menacing despite the occasional drop down in sound. An odd piece. In total contrast, the second piece, still on side A, sees Porter going for an ultra minimal beat, with some minimal synth backing. With the rhythm you could think Pan Sonic/Goem, but you're not likely to find that kind of sweetened synth in their music. A curious mixture of a minimal beat back drop and cheesy synth. Another oddity. The third and final piece we find on the other side, and this is where the minimal rhythm meets up with a more Pan Sonic/Goem like synth playing - sturdy, loud and a bit noisy. The new outlet promises to be a platform where artists can express themselves without any musical limitations.M.R.E.U.X is Luke Mreux and is someone who runs his own studio in Italy. He has been involved in the industry since the 90s, has a background in punk and has worked in many clubs. As well as this he has played high profile gigs like Love Parade, runs a number of other labels and has a dark and psychedelic sound.My inspiration comes from the electronic music of the 80's and 90s when producing still meant research, ideas and passion says the artist. Here he works with analog machines and vintage gear that lends his music a great sense of character.First up is The Return, which is eight minutes of inventive techno nailed to a kinked groove. Gurgling machines, dark claps and trippy synths all stay busy throughout and keep you on your toes as the freaky atmosphere keeps you sucked in.The perfectly all consuming "Dark Culture" is rich with corrugated bass and rooted drums. It is a groove full of shady corners and menacing moods and only the most subtle synths join the fray to add more layers of unsettling intrigue.These two devastating tracks mark out this label as one to watch right from the off.

Berlin based Mark Henning continues a series of self released 12's on his own imprint Swing Recordings. Next up is a re-issue of two of his most famous bassline-heavy tracks to date - Trojan and Sin City plus a new unreleased track.

Trojan sold out very quickly, was never repressed and can only be found on Discogs for silly money these days. Meanwhile Sin City, co-produced with Japanese Producer Tokuto Denda a.k.a Den, was never pressed on to vinyl in the first place.

Henning fans now have the chance to get these two tracks on wax as well as a bonus track Bang Bang, a Juno bass inspired slab of techno funk.

It's been over a year since Gregor Tresher's last solo release on his beloved Break New Soil. Granted we've been treated to his remix of Chymera and the excellent collaboration with Petar Dundov, but for a fresh new solo production we have to look back to his epic Nightcolors album. 

Today Gregor returns home with two slamming new tracks, both of which are the result of hours of tweaking and testing whilst on the road this summer. Midas is built around a stripped back single-riff groove. Minimal elements and maximum effect show that Gregor still has that midas touch. 

On the flip and easily living up to its name is Disturber. its snarling synth takes centre stage, intimidating and unsettling. But as the kick drum thumps and the intensity builds, Disturber suddenly returns to the dark shadows.  

An excellent brace of the new tracks from Gregor and a release that also sees a fresh face for Break New Soil as the label presents the first in a new series of cover art by Frankfurt's Think Design.

Having recently played an eight hour set to a sold-out crowd at London's Oval Space, the prolific Dusky drop a trio of moody club tool tracks on 17 Steps as they continue their European Autumn/Winter tour.
A club tool in the most effective sense, lead track 'Lydia' is dark, nagging acid groover that builds and builds throughout its 6 hypnotic minutes. With all the melodic material based around the Lydian scale, 'Lydia' was originally inspired by a bizarre, trippy dream Alfie had in which everything was all based on the Lydian scale.
A homage to classic techno, 'Bitter Lake' is a hard-hitting surge of looping, percussive energy and Detroit-nodding rave stabs that build to a hoover-fuelled breakdown release.
Rounding off the trio, the brilliantly titled and uniquely composed 'Infinite Libido' again explores Dusky's more percussive tendencies and has been a regular feature in their DJ sets for the past year.

Inigo Kennedy has been with Token since the beginning. With a strong existing catalog stretching back to the 90s, Kennedy produced the first Token release from a place of confidence, with an EP of bold and dark, yet playful and seriously storming techno tracks. Since then he has been consistent in delivering a succession of releases that are always surprising, but instantly recognisable as fitting with his own polished sonic identity. This impressive body of work includes the full-length LP Vaudeville, in which he explored the many facets of his abilities as a producer, from atmospheric heights of ambience to murky and claustrophobic pacing grooves.

Now for Token 62, his double A-side NGC EP continues with a theme originating from the final track on Vaudeville, delving into the aesthetics of the interstellar clouds of Cygnus and Draco. The EP as a whole is swelling, melodic and subtle, with the AA-side NGC6543 named after the 'Cat's Eye' nebula, taking its time with warm crescendos and crisp splashes of percussion to activate a meridian body response. NGC6826 (Blinking Eye) pulsates with a broken beat, the rhythm just pausing for a classic melancholic refrain before returning to force for its finale.

Out Electronic Recordings introduces the second installment of Different Seasons various artists series after kicking off the first one with tracks from Fabrizio Lapiana, Regen, Civilian and Limo back in January 2015. A furious breakbeat and a pitched down vocal remain the core elements of this tune all spiced up with some funky bassline licks and a quick acid injection. The remix from Frankfurt based duo ACENSOR really strips things down to the essentials and comes in handy as a super functional techno tune. Your mind is a more simple piece of rolling raw techno with cut-up field recorded noises and emersons own voice.

Final Chapter was started in 2013 by Stockholm's Sean Dixon, along with support from Perseus Traxx. A label which is happy to let the music do the talking, Final Chapter is now on it's fifth release, and shows no sign of being prepared to letting the book close. With a history, already stretching back to some his earliest studio times, 'Speed Breaker' marks
the sixth album to take its place in the Russian's estimable long-player archive. From 2004's
'Catchy!' through to last year's '#Uplifting', its supplied the collections of fan's around the world
with a string of evergreen classics.

'Speed Breaker' once again turns the spotlight onto the work of a producer (and DJ) who views
electronic dance music through the widest possible lens. The album brings together a collection
of 15 cuts, comprising of Bobina's late-2015 through to '16 catalogue. It moves seamlessly
between towering instrumentals and infectious vocals, each of which carrying the DNA of future anthems.

To work alongside him, Bobina has once again assembled a range of singers and songwriters
that are as talented as they are artistically open-minded. They include the legendary-likes of
JES, established names like Natalie Gioia & Alexandra Badoi, as well as those more newcomer
in nature, May-Britt Scheffer among them. Its Y chromosome is equally well represented, with instudio team-ups from a male vocal contingent that includes Christian Burns, Sir Adrian and Kyle Richardson.

Numbers like the album's title track considerably shake up its stylistic system too. 'Speed
Breaker' brings a slow-tempo, more leftfield vibe, with deep bass guitar throb and by virtue an
almost New Order-like edge to the album. Similarly revolutionary is 'Addicted', as Natalie Gioia
exerts a hypnotic vocal hold over Bobina's late-2015 artistic earthquake. He backs her catchyas-
you-like song with a reclined tempo, cool timbale-led percussion, tinkling pianos and a
swaying b-line. Such were its plaudits on first release that Dmitry has reteamed with the Russian singer for the album track 'My Everything' - albeit one far more rafter-blasting in effect.

'Love Is the Answer' with Kyle Richardson plays to Bobina's daytime radio strengths; 'iBelieve'
feat. JES has showstopping trance running thick through its veins, while Alexandra Badoi
