Under the stewardship of Alan Fitzpatrick, 8 Sided Dice Recordings continues to maintain its reputation as one of the most consistent techno labels to emerge in recent times thanks to a steady stream of well-received releases. The label operates as both a home for high profile artists and an outlet for emerging talent; striking a balance between output from Fitzpatrick and that of his contemporaries, including contributions from Rich Jones, Chris Colburn, ON/OFF, Harvey McKay, Hans Bouffmyhre and Nicole Moudaber.
Established in 2008 as a vehicle for Alan Fitzpatrick to release his own music, 8 Sided Dice has evolved on an impressive trajectory in line with Fitzpatrick's own career. Recognised as one of the most exciting talents to emerge from UK in recent times, Fitzpatrick's brand of infectious, modern techno has propelled him towards the upper echelons of the scene and has encouraged an impressive list of legendary techno talent - Cari Lekebusch, Joey Beltram and Slam - to grant their endorsement to 8 Sided Dice.

Dorian Sensation, owned by Hong Kong-born, Berlin-based DJ/producer R_L, is a vinyl label celebrating hedonism through the artistic expression of human sensations and sonic explorations.

Violet Lust, the imprint's very first EP, features two futuristic broken beat techno numbers: 'Violet Musing' encapsulates a sparse, hazy and constantly morphing soundscape whilst 'Chaotic Lust' revolves around throbbing sub, scattering chirps and a relentless galloping rhythm that set to boost the momentum of the dance floor in a stylish manner, leading the crowd to a sensual and hedonistic experience.

A limited whitelabel of San Proper's 'Autosea' cut which was previously released on his album 'Animal'. This time it comes with a new mix, the RVSP version, on which San Proper teams up with a very well known techno producer for a special B-side mix! Big Tip.

Making a techno shift, Midnight Shift's third release sees Recondite on his upward trajectory pair up with the relatively reserved
Julien H Mulder. Both outputs possess a stripped down aesthetic, but while the former shows up straight up and shiny, the latter
introduces lightness and play. A tightly packed, hardworking 4-track EP that will serve the many moods of a DJ well.
Formerly from Bavaria and now based in Berlin, Recondite crafts 'Borderline', a track that delivers shimmery afterdark punch such as
with the last bright rays of an inevitably waning sun. 'Stomper' does not have to go on too long to make a point. It is a moody,melancholic, almost lovesick trudge topped off with restless hi hats.
Accomplished in ambient space music, Julien H Mulder has been producing since the 90s. To him, simplicity is best. The Stockholm
resident's 'Won't Say Nothing' is a lightly drenched sigh paired with broken beat while 'Old Rutins' is a bassline-led kicker soon to
run amok in dancefloors. They quite simply hint at what is to come with his forthcoming full-fledged EP on Midnight Shift.

The on-going celebration of Delsin reaching 100 releases continues here with the 4th in the series of 100DSR releases. Featuring key label friends Redshape, D5 and Area Forty_One, it's another compelling package.
First up is the famous masked one with a track specially made to celebrate the centenary. Fittingly it is entitled '100 (Classic Mix)' and finds him in a doleful mood, layering sad synth motifs of a hubbub of nicely crushed drums and scurrying percussion. Sad but optimistic, uplifting but heavy-hearted, it's a quintessential Redshape track that manages to be industrial and romantic at exactly the same time.

Next up is D5, who has basically only ever released on Delsin since emerging in 2001. It's be a few years since his last EP, but this new track makes the wait worth while: 'Stem Cell' is a light-footed, harmonically enriched bit of house that has large opens spaces glowing golden white as paddy kicks keep busy below. A blissful but purposeful track, the final offering comes from sometime Ann Aimee producer Area Forty_One, who offers the dynamic and juddering bit of deep techno that is 'Supervoid'.

Back to the roots: Merkur releases its 6.5th EP presenting the Japanese DJ Gonno as in the first releases of the label.
Gonno is an integral part of the current wave of house and techno in Japan and also made it over to Europe by playing in Berlin every year since 2007. Gonno's infectious sound >Haya Fifth Reality<. The spacy rythm and the melodic, deep sound let the listener's thoughts drift off into the infinite cavity of the universe. The piece is truely hypnotizing and brings addictive beats.

Whilst Posthuman have been a constant presence on the electronica scene the past decade with releases on such as Skam, B12 and their own Seed Records, the past 18 months though has seen cousins Doherty and Bevan fully focussed on the dancefloor with a series of releases on labels such as Tusk Wax, Balkan Vinyl, Throne of Blood and RSI that have caught the attention of DJs like Daniel Avery, Ben Sims, and Disco Bloodbath's Damon Martin, combining grinding Detroit inspired Techno and bubbling Acid House basslines with icy precision.

The Decompression EP, their debut release on the Body Work label (Waze & Odyssey, LPZ), sees them continue to refine their sound with 4 new tracks of hypnotically dark acid plus a remix from Houndstooth artist House of Black Lanterns. From the abyssal techno 'Decompression' through to the percussive 'So Cruel', 'Back to Acid's snake like bleeps and beeps and onto House Of Black Lanterns' elegiac techno remix, this is an EP sure to dominate dance floors from underground bunkers to warehouse raves alike.

Tommy Four Seven is back on CLR with another challenging release, titled OX. Featuring two original versions and a remix by Oscar Mulero, one of Spain´s most tireless and trendsetting Techno ambassadors.As usual, Tommy uses his profound skills as a sound designer and his do-it-yourself approach to sound in general to shape unique textures and haunting beats, which make his productions easily recognizable and compelling. The originals of OX 1 and OX 2 seem to equally satisfy his artistic standards as much as the needs of the dancing crowd. Loads of groove and dark, absorbing atmospheres go hand in hand, creating his much appreciated modern Techno sound. Oscar Mulero takes the opportunity to deliver an irresistibly driving take on OX 1, proving once more his qualities and significance as a producer. CLR080 is a must-have for each Techno fan, which will undoubtedly grace dance-floors all over the planet.

KRAKE is an annual Berlin based festival for challenging electronic music. Krake means - octo- pus' and the festival is organised in a comparable way: reaching out to selected locations during one week presenting the best in electronic music whatever style it is. The festival is not huge, not expensive, does not have big sponsoring deals or four different colour are passes. It's just a good and so far successful try to bring back the focus on artists who dare to step off the beaten tracks.
KRAKE 002 contains mostly exclusive tracks of artists who played at the Krake festival in 2013. The A-side starts with a dark ambient drone by DÄMMERN, followed by a pop-fueled two-step hit by PHON.O. Next in line is Irishman EOMAC with a warm and deep IDM track already char- ted by none less than Thom Yorke of Radiohead, followed by - Resolution', a little melancholic stepper by BILL YOUNGMAN.
The B-side is being opened with a techno track by grandmaster MONOLAKE in his most typical dubby percussive style. For the next track FRANK BRETSCHNEIDER reduces the sounds to the max again to deliver a percussive track as minimalistic as can be. Legendary techno producer CRISTIAN VOGEL, known for his constant search for new values, closes the compilation with an avantgarde piece of noise and drones.

Too young to attend our nighttime parties (sorry, dude) on his last visit, he came in contact with the world of Mister Saturday Night at Co-Op 87, a great little record store in Greenpoint. Inspired by what he heard on wax, he made three jams that fit perfectly into the party. Eamon and Justin have been caning them for months. They work every time.

The already 4th production of the record label Freakadelle, founded in 2013, represents a very special release this time. The vinyl only release includes 6 exclusive tracks of 6 well-known personalities from 6 different nations. All of the artists have performed as live acts or DJs at Freaksound Klubhaus in the last two and a half years. Hence, the record also embodies a unique
memento of a moving time in Salzburg's club history and subculture. The release unites various styles of House and Techno, but at the same time proves to be a lively mixture of young emerging talents as well as renowned artists. Freaksound Klubhaus is the home of the vinyl/digital record label Freakadelle and is run by volunteers of the cultural association Freaksound
Salzburg. Inspired by a frequent musical interchange among the members, as well as the boisterous parties in the association's own club, the label serves to foster local music producers and to place non-commercial electronic music on the market.

And so we present a second record from our NY via San Francisco family, a blossoming talent, Austin Cesear. Primed and fresh from a 12" on Anthony Naples' Proibito label and an Opal Tapes cassette, he surfaces again over a year on from his widely revered Cruise Forever LP - welcome to West Side.

Heavily inspired by the dockside location of Oakland Port, CA. This is Austin Cesear beside black water in the darkest hours, white sodium light bouncing across the surf. Searching across the bay, industry stands proud in the early morning haze. Cargo, containers, machines. Cranes pierce the sky, gulls scream, motors grind - the rush and roar of a new working day in his ears.

Back in the studio these sounds, these sights manifest. Track One - La Paloma, the liquid blue dawn, loops into the horizon. Whilst track two - Ain't It So (Necessary) becomes a twitchy techno shuffle that soon breaks down into the disused mechanic sludge of Cloven Hoov. Easy Bend is then a lesson in the sublime. A machine rhythm in mourning, an aching drone, the soundtrack to ships rolling out of the Bay, toward new worlds. Then the growl of Samareda... a storm of insects hammering against a kick-thump that grows and grows before a shower of voices sweeten the mood to take us home in a blaze of light. Stunning tackle. Bee Free (Warlick Mix) is the endgame - a rugged swagger of moody bump n' beat. The funkiest thing on here.

And so we leave Oakland, we leave Austin Cesear... until next time. This young producer is steadily becoming a mature soul, an exceptional sound, a moment of calm in an ever breathless, over crowded market.

Following last month's uncompromising 'Yearn' EP from J.Tijn, Pennyroyal continues to invest in techno's kicks of tomorrow by welcoming Myler into our family circle. With releases on Fifth Wall
and Apothecary Compositions already under his belt, Myler powers forward with three hits of medicinal grade club fuel.
The saturated drum bump of lead track 'Gorilla Biscuits' dunks hard with its rolling groove and percussive hook; playing out with the bounce of 90's Strictly Rhythm counterpointed by fierce snarls and switch up's that evoke 90s' Reinforced.
The Shortbread edit is for the happy faced warehouse crew, pushing the same driving groove through some toughening acid treatments. 'Carol Vorderman' is the most abrasive of the pack

While his 2011 release for Further, "Sea Level," hinted at John Daly's fondness for Manuel Göttsching/Klaus Schulze-like kosmische ambience, Daly now veers off into more introverted & arcane abstraction terrain.

Traversable Wormhole returns to CLR after a huge success in the techno scene with the digital releases and remixes of volumes 1 - 5. The present offering on CLR contains all songs from volumes 6 - 10, originally released on 12 vinyl only. The first anonymously produced ink stamped vinyls under the mysterious guise Traversable Wormhole appeared in the global techno scene in spring of 20[I] CD 9 | At this time nobody knew who was behind the project and the mystique continued to grow with each new record until volume 6, when Adam X finally revealed himself as the creator of the much hailed productions in a Resident Advisor interview in 20

The seventh Modal Analysis release comes from Athenian producer and DJ, ANFS. Following his remix for Kondaktor's Signal #1 , ANFS returns to the label with his debut release, 'Ground', a four track EP which consists of original material. Borrowing sounds from early twentieth century folk Greek culture, the EP is dominated by a rhythmic canibalistic spirit and a noisy distorted cue. Ground #1 functions as an introduction, or rather one's initiation to the mystic rituals that prevail. The artist uses drones and distorted textures which increase in Ground#2
and are backed up by drums that beat in a hard-and-slow ethnic tonality. Ground#3 reveals a paroxysm of emotions which comes as a result from the combination of basslines and vocals that create a complex and twisted vortex. The trip ends with Ground#4, a more stripped down monotonic ensemble that serves as an epilogue and a catharsis.

this EP so much. It's a combination of his unique mix of techno, bass and anything else he feels like, all rolled up into a nice industrial big-room package ready for warehouses around the world.

Studies in Techno patterns and aesthetics from a maximalist musical perspective without employing orthodox beats.

The focal rhythmic element is achieved with programmed pitched sounds via FM, Physical Modeling and Additive synthesis methods in a modular environment. These aural components that withstand spectral and formant filters, as well as other signal processing units, form harmonies and melodies that interchangeably act as the structural groove. The outcome is occasionally polyrhythmic aiming for a Common-time feel and vice versa. Interwoven patterns and complex ornaments within a pliant grid form a diametric functionality of loop-based trance-inducing music, and require active listening.
This is a paradoxical ode to Noise and Techno progressing further.

Bio:

Ata Ebtekar aka Sote (b. Hamburg, Germany) is an electronic music composer and sound artist based in Tehran, Iran.
His music has been published by various companies, such as Warp Records, Sub Rosa, Digitalis, Sonic Arts Network plus others.
Global cultural exposure through transmigration has been a significant stimulant for his aesthetics. Sote's goal is to create unique and timeless pieces of music that are not available anywhere except in his mind.

His compositions and multi-channel installations are sonic tales synchronously decoding and regenerating customary pattern of thought in nature; aural designs of crisis and harmony where contempo aligns with folklore, orchestrating an artificial saga with a variety of illuminations and analyses. His passion for all music especially, all forms of electronic music, and his extensive involvement in the sound art academia world, has led him to compose in a wide variety of musical styles with a strong emphasis in electro-acoustic techniques, microtonal systems and polyrhythmic motifs.
He has a firm conviction that rules and formulas must be deconstructed and rethought; hence he alters musical modal codes from their original tonality and rhythm (tradition) to achieve vivid synthetic soundscapes.

In order to accomplish dynamic expression on electronics, gesture and texture, he employs various synthesis languages and dsp techniques in a modular sound environment.

Ata 'Sote' Ebtekar believes that music is a cultural habit of sound and anti-sound (silence). Therefore, he generates music without a specific culture, which he believes to be "the other sound."

The partnership of Chris and D.A.V.E. deliver forward-thinking techno with masterful production and plenty of pulsing get-on-the-floor vibes on both sides

Analytic Trail label boss Markantonio teams up with rising star Roberto Capuano for a superb EP of driving techno featuring original tracks from both artists as well as two collaborative recordings and a pair of swapped remixes.
Markantonio has been at the forefront of Italy's techno scene since the late nineties, with his Analytic Trail imprint having been behind some outstanding music for the last decade. He is also no stranger to collaborations having worked up some classic cuts with the likes of Davide Squillace, Rino Cerrone & Joseph Capriati and it's in this spirit of collaboration that Markantonio embarks upon his next release, this time

WD or The Wild Division Records a new techno label based from Terrassa (BCN) founded trough the collaboration between Spear, DusterTraum and Miki Craven. The label aims to follow a dark moody side of techno music, with simple structures and analog sounds reminiscent the old mid 90's productions. This label is the result of the work of the last three years between this three artists. The label will count with more international artists who will take part with the label signing and remixing further references.

Location: Axel's Coffee Cafe, Mindcut Mall
Crime Scene: 4 males, seated round a table. Looks like they used to be
one of those famous boy bands. Designer haircuts, lots of bling. Too
much bling for workers earning dimes and dollars in a donut shack.
Must've had some sort of meeting going on after hours. Scribbled notes
on the table describe a few attempts to make some of that EDM crap kids
are listening to these days (Not like the real music when I was
young.). IDs still in their pockets give names as Dave Tarrida,
JoeFarr, Paul Birken, and Sunil Sharpe. All four victims still seated,
appear to have suffered similar type of acid attack while restrained.
All victims were employees at this dive working various shifts serving
coffee and donuts. Store manager is some guy named Axel..has a few
joints around town, real small potato type places. Other poorly
scribbled notes show some dance moves/choreography they were trying to
sort out for a show or fundraiser, but I see multiple doctor notes
stating no excessive/strenuous movements due to age. Poor bastards,
they just couldn't give up the dream. Following footsteps towards back
door which is open. Another few pages of notes laying here too. Looks
like these boys owed someone some money and someone came to collect.

Matt O'Brien first came to our attention in 2005 with his Off-key Industries releases "Hidden High" and "Serotone", which would later get a license on Rekids. His first contribution for Curle was back in 2007 when he remixed Efdemin's "Acid Bells". In 2010 he made up the flipside to Dozzy & Van Hoesen's track on Curle 024.
After "Starting Over" in 2011, we're proud to welcome Matt back on Curle for his second full EP. Don't forget your scuba glasses, it's deep!

It's been seven years since Edward Molton and Svemirski started Coincidence. Seven years of bringing quality Techno from unknown artists, from a tiny spot near Bruges in belgium, where nothing even remotely resembling a scene is present. But Coincidence is still around and to celebrate that, we figured we'd do a mix CD. And who could do this better than our very own Miss Sunshine...

Included in that mix there are four previously unreleased and exclusive tracks from artists that have always been with us in one way or another. These tracks will only be available on Vinyl and will be released on a limited 250 copies mini-compilation.

The A side is reserved for our girls Rebekah and Miss Sunshine: Rebekah delivers 'Static Motion', a signature hard hitting ultra dry hard techno tune that is constantly balancing on the edge between erupting into a techno stomper and keeping the anger bottled inside. Miss Sunshine's track 'Drifter' on the other hand is a brutal, yet brilliantly made techno track. On the edge of distortion and loudness, but keeping it all in check. A testament of how far our dear friend has come over the years and on the brink of breaking through to the higher levels of Techno.

The B side features a resident of the label and a newcomer (although an accomplished artist before long): Tom Dazing breaks the self-imposed silent period with 'Bulge', a brilliantly crafter techno meets acid track that builds from idea to idea without losing the thread in its own story book. There are instances where people love certain pieces of unpredictable art.

Buenos Aires based producer and Cocoliche resident Mariano DC provides the next installment in Infrastructure's return. The second new artist to offer original material on the label, Mariano's uncompromising Techno tracks continue the label's steady run of varied and confident output this year.

In the 90s Infrastructure's creator Function, aka David Sumner, played a string of gigs together with Mariano in Bueno Aires, solidifying a firm friendship based around the music they loved.
Following his Cocoliche comeback alongside Mariano in 2013, an event Sumner would later describe as 'one of the purest Techno experiences' he'd ever witnessed - the Argentine producer offered up a wealth of material for the label's re-launch. Following a period testing and selection, these five deadly tracks were chosen to make up INF-015.
A cult figure amongst his native club scene, Mariano's brash, intense and riotous tracks on 'Stiletto' mark a timely juxtaposition to the labels three recent releases. Offering a welcome reminder of the type of Techno that is central to the Infrastructure sound, they guide us through a varying palette of moods. From the hypnotic sub-sonic waves of 'Kaverna', the heady heights of title track 'Stiletto', or the crunching static snares of 'Cascada', the EP briings yet another facet in the Infrastructure sound to the fore.

Berghain-Resident Norman Nodge stellt auf seinem 12-Inch Sampler für die 'Berghain 06'-Mix-CD drei von ihm ausgewählte und bisher unveröffentlichte Exklusiv-Tracks zusammen. Der erste Track von Techno-Veteran Mark Broom, 'Vault 5', kommt sofort zur Sache, nimmt ohne Einleitung den Dancefloor ins Visir und baut langsam aber sicher die Spannung auf. Hallende, geflüsterte Vocals runden die dramatische Stimmung dieser Produktion ab. Auch wenn im Dunkeln bleibt, wer hinter Birds Two Cage steckt - mit 'Gase' legt das Outfit einen kurzen, aber wohl geformten Ambient-Track vor. Der Track eröffnet Normans Mix und auch für sich allein weiß er zu verzücken. Side A is strongly inspired and imprinted from the deep house of Agachoo and from Reshape mix of Fred P that manages to produce his own originality integrated with a strong dub atmosphere.
Side B is a discovery into the techno soul differently from the previous EP described before. Starship Hookers demonstrates an ever more strong reference to deep, that the remix of MRSK manages to strip completely bringing the entire disc into the purest of techno.

Dan Physics came up in the ranks of the early 90s Midwest & NYC dance underground, when record shops still existed and the club scene was still diverse and vibrant. Working at Sonic Groove Records alongside Adam-X and Frankie Bones, through the years Dan had gained an encyclopedic knowledge of house, techno, industrial music and many genres in between.

What we have here is a document from his past recording archives which demonstrates his studio expertise and is an impressive take of high bpm, yet melodic techno. At points reminding us of Walt J at other junctures more tripped out, this will not be the last time we hear from Dan.

R&S are proud to introduce hugely talented new signing Alma Construct, AKA 19 year old Josh Thompson to the world for his debut self-titled EP.From the throbbing bounce of Balearic opener 'On The Edge, Surrounded With The Shores Of Assudrey' to the menacing hum and snarl of 'Deer Drink From The River' it's clear that Alma Construct music is wildly ambitious and expressive.
Taking inspiration from La Planète Sauvage a 70s stop-motion science fiction allegory by René Laloux, his music conjures up fantastical visions through caustic timbres and enigmatic melodies - on the flip 'Imagine Them's industrial beats, strobing synths and hypnotic BoC bass melody give way to Dialectic A and B - a pair of trippy, hallucinogenic audio workouts.
Thompson utilises an array of beatboxes, samplers, tape machines and guitar pedals to assemble his warm, immersive sound taking as much inspiration from his fascination with film and art as his obvious love for music. There's an array of styles on this debut EP and an obvious deft skill behind the machines that point to Alma Construct joining the ranks of some of the finest young producers in the UK.

A new project by two undercover house/techno affiliates - one a Berliner and the other a Londoner - pretty much given away by their all-analogue production approach and rigorously live mixdown approach. No mercy on those low-ends...The undertaking centres around the more sparse, broken and

heavyweight spectrums of the dance field, merging their various palates of sound to produce a dub-heavy approach to the two-step genre.

Early UK grime and dubstep days - artists like Horsepower Productions and his LP In Fine Style - come to mind immediately. The mixes feel raw, rugged, rough and made from the heart.



A. Itinerant Magic - the track wouldn't sound out of place in an Actress set, thanks to those tweeting sequences of melodies flying in and out that grainy percussion rustling back and forth. It develops with pure fury, contorting those drum machine shots to their very limit and morphing the percussion segments to produce a sludgy, raucous cluster of sound and finally unleashing an all-out cacophony of snares, hi-hats and sci-fi cinematic drama.



B1. Jack The Dub - this is the ONE... for both sheer production- quality and dance-floor sensibility. Apart from the convoluted mass of percussion which grinds its way to the break, the track is actually incredibly minimal in its elements and it uses a stop-start motion arrangement to get its point across. This will likely be

played and appreciated by many of the Bristol crew - Pev, Kowton etc - and its liable to tear any floor to pieces.
B2. Monkey - the 'dubbiest' and most daring of the three. The
arrangement is utterly chaotic and sparse but it somehow manages to
form into a distinct shape. Mounds of delayed snares, hi-hats and
chords wail their way sporadically amidst small bundles of burly
kicks and rolling, distorted, dub-filtered effects.

Urgent new forays into the Hadean coils of classic techno, jungle, grime and dub. Big-bottomed, nitty-gritty studies in dread, running edginess hard into craft, the here-and-now into the space-world.
With just a dense low-end buzz and ticking, mid-tempo drum-machine, Intro-Core sets the scene: the mood is tense; the music is dubwise, live-and-direct, supple. Stepping in to inaugurate the project is Berlin based Adam Parker a.k.a Afriqua. With a back catalogue that bears a fitting degree of musicality stemming from an interest in classical piano, Afriqua's Jazz-suffused productions have been released on the likes of Tiefschwarz's Souvenir Music, 2nd Drop Records, F4T Music, and Lokee Musik.

His 'Slap' EP kicks off with Sexism that gently pours warming, loose-fingered Rhodes over a propulsive 4/4 pulse before 'Pastage' rubs tough flecks of acid alongside whetted hats and claps. 'Slap' then offers a unique revision of an eminent early Hip-Hop cut before 'Segment' renders a barren, icy landscape.

Ilario Alicante might well be best known for his previous releases on big room labels Cocoon and Cecille but preconceptions can be misleading. Here on Sudden Drop we plough a deeper furrow, not ones for hands up in the air shenanigans we prefer to get our heads down on the dancefloor for some serious introspection, which is why this 3 tracker from the Italian born Ilario finds it's way onto our label. 'Echotechno' is indeed a main room slice of stomping techno but with that oh so important moody vibe that we crave here at SD, 'Rouge Dub' on the flip delves deeper with an exceedingly trippy soundscape whilst 'Untitled Drop' rounds things off with a spritely techno groove.
