Mary Yuzovskaya’s vinyl-only, Berlin-via-Brooklyn Monday Off label continues to explore techno’s shadowy depths; where the music’s subtle dynamics unfurl in intensely cerebral and psychedelic ways.

The rising Roman producer Hoedus, who’s previously contributed to one of the Various Artist compilations, offers three exquisite new tracks on this latest edition to MOFF’s catalogue. The propulsion of opening track Frames rolls in like a summer’s evening thunderstorm; fresh and unrelenting as its elements swirl around the listener, while ever-crescendoing in subdued intensity.

Moving Up Slowly follows suit, but unlike its namesake, it dives straight into peak time energy with ravey drones that slowly evolve into an array of tripping tones that tunnel straight into the brain. The following side begins with MOFF fave Spanish artist Orbe remixing Moving Up Slowly; its energy further increased tenfold as otherworldly sounds dance around the main motif with frenetic intensity.

"What would be our endeavour as humans without music you may ask? Well, we wouldn't know since Acoustic Vision has clearly taken care of that task and carefully curated the material to take form, from his imagination, through a lovely selection.

Uplifting vibes layered on top of a pumping baseline make from the first track, the reason you'll find yourself incapable to resist dancing, almost like in a trance you'll organically drift driven by 'Peyote Country Club'. A sense of urgency will install throughout your body once the needle hits 'Human Endeavour', for what exactly is for your spirit to decide, but carried by the tribal feeling the fact is undeniable.

Following through, the air gets more relaxed with 'Every pleasure, every sin'. Even with such relentless percussion the listener will still get a sensation of calm, mainly induced by the dreamlike pads and optimistic keys. Drift, drift away with A.C. and let yourself get carried away. It's always interesting to witness how new and old meet together, and from this perspective, this record changes the mood through the hands of the Italian craftsman, Ivan Iacobucci.

Almost evoking old times, the (almost) final part of the record emits an eerie energy which completes the story for the listener.

The long-awaited repress of "Baby EP" - Ricardo Villalobos's first solo single on raum...musik under the Villalobos moniker - is finally here. Featuring two tonally and energetically distinct cuts of dancefloor minimalism that are undoubtedly Ricardo. "Baby EP" sounds as cutting-edge as when it was initially released 12 years ago.

From the slightly euphoric and light-hearted atmosphere of 'hansup' (A) to the emotionally charged groove of 'Baby' (B), "Baby EP" travels through a world of intricately layered micro/macro percussions, eloquently programmed synths, and Ricardo's own vocals spread across the frequency spectrum - an added human touch to his usual machine funk. And while rhythm seems to be at centre stage here, in usual Villalobos fashion, both tracks resolve into pure jazzy melancholy. After dragging the listener into a world of (very) human feelings so uncommon in electronic dance music, "Baby EP" makes it very clear you are listening to Villalobos.

For the second release, the Swiss Label present a classic Dub techno track produced by AudioChain (A duo composed by the Label owner Brenno Della Vecchia and his friend Luca Gaggetti). A timeless track with a deeper groove born directly from the Alps!

The remix otherwise, is a faster interpretation remixed by the Dub techno producer from S. Francisco, Federsen. A wonderful relaxed track full of details able to bring you inside Kelly's rhythm.

Opening with Horizon on the A1, Hurdslenk wastes no time in setting the tone for this release. This high energy stomper is packed with sinister vibes and metallic highs, driving an intense, full power track thats tailor made for peak time moments. Its merciless, unyielding, and primed to dominate the dancefloor. A2 Dust keeps the energy high while introducing a pneumatic, distorted feel. Antonio De Angelis returns to KEY with 'Knocking'; a classy, elegant and powerful 4 tracker which showcases the unmistakable expertise of the producer in matters of sound design. All of this material is imbued with utmost austerity, tapping into a vein of primal, purist techno.
A1 'Emergency' is charming and magnificently vacouos. The minimalistic composition and subtle variation enhances its skeletal structure, where each element is positioned to perfectly match the other. Dim drones meet with a heavy bass epitomizing the hypnotic power of minimalism through repetition. Going further, 'Red Snow' dives deeper into textural lusciousness with scattered bleeps and sci-fi atmospheres. This one is real good. On the B side energy intensifies with 'Kerogen', a dark, big room pumper filled with layers and asurpsiging final progression into a dreamy, dubbed string sequence. And finally, the gorgeous 'Total Recall' concludes ourride with an even dreamier color. While the low ends suck you ina locked grove, the pads absorb your mind into a luminescent realm of abstraction. Eyes closed, smiling, getting lost into imagination. TIP!
All pieces within the EP have a clear clarity of means in common where nothing is overdosed: airiness and concentration on the effect of the sounds used is the focus from start to finish. Balanced, restrained, somber. Yes, KEY is back to serving top-notch techno elegance.

Fast, nervous, incisive. With Rebecca Delle Piane, you really can't go wrong. Class 98', Fondi born and Terracina based Italian artist joins the KEY crew with an unmistakable four tracker EP.

"Creatures of the night" takes our hand into a paranoid and distorted bleepy delirium. Everything is unnerving. A harsh, almost discordant mixture where the title clearly renders the idea of its content.

A2 "Personal Prison", softens down the confusion and guides the listener a bit deeper into the rabbithole... The atmosphere is ominous. Kickdrums are round and steady while crisp, subtle hats fill all the blank 4x4 spots. Seething strings play with odd bells, all rounded off by a rolling, groovy, beat.

Up next goes "La Vita Di Allora", which in italian translates 'the life of back then'- a sentimental title which reminisces an undefined past or moment. The first element which stands out of the composition is a thick, vibrating bassline, which blends in with distorted snippets of the vocal. Definitely a dancefloor weapon for the high momentums... And for sweat.

Last but not least, B2 concludes the release by developing the bleepy madness into a more grounding cut. A smooth grain delay provides texture to the hi's, while toms take your attention to the low frequencies once again. A general sound which will make you feel a different kind of energy. Sinister and cavernous, with a high dose of adrenaline rush. A continuation of KEY's exploration of the abysses of horror-based sonic narrations.

For the second edition of Speciale, we fly to Basel, Switzerland.

It is a pleasure to share this EP with Ben Kaczor, an artist already engaged in managing his label KCZ/CZT, releasing on Dial Records, and performing all over Europe.

Ben presents two dark and hypnotic tracks that defines his deep musical taste characterized by hypnotic grooves and synths soundscapes together with melancholic basslines.

Dokument is an underground techno label from Zagreb, Croatia that has featured artists such as Sev Dah, Marla Singer, Forest People and Stephan Krus.

Linear System is a Spanish artist who has released music on esteemed labels like Edit Select, Ben Sims' Symbolism and Dynamic Reflection.

Italy's Alarico supplies the sole remix and his music and reworks can be found on imprints such as Kr!z's Token, Pfirter's MindTrip, SHDW & Obscure Shape's Mutual Rytm, HAYES and ANAØH.

4th release on the now Lisbon based Indigenous Electronic; presenting 4 entirely out of the box live recordings; produced, mixed and recorded and edited by Yajiyuso with a 5th track by an Iranian artist showcasing his return to the label.

Friendship is a core value of Milligramme. Unspecial’s track “Der Freund I” and Deadbeat’s “Sands of Time Dub” are another chapter of a long story of mutual understanding between Hilmar Reusch a.k.a. Unspecial and select Canadian artists. This record involved consulting Manifest Audio's Noah Pred, who introduced him to Scott Monteith, better known as Deadbeat. Pred and Reusch’s paths first crossed in 2003 in Barcelona at the Sonar Festival. Ever since, the two have exchanged thoughts about music, the world, time, and place. Monteith and Reusch opened an expansive discussion about sustainability and the future of music, Chloé Gastinel did some flirting with the dark, Jörn Elling-Wuttke mastered it,and took care of its spirit. Milligramme is grateful to have such gentle, reflective, and excellent friends.

Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid's Kilimanjaro project first appeared on FUSE London in late 2013 and offered a refreshing exploration of house music informed by jungle's production style. This Summer the duo are set to reunite as they continue to join the dots between House and Jungle with the 'Kilimanjaro Sound EP', the latest installment of their much-hyped project.
'Kilimanjaro 2' is a remarkably simplistic yet brutally effective opener, which kicks the EP off in fine style, effortlessly fusing elements of house and jungle together. Trademark crisp jungle drums underpin an off kilter house beat while vocal wails and a pulsating jungle reese bassline shakes the track to its core.
On 'Kilimanjaro 3', while the deadly deep bass remains, the track develops along a techier-tangent. Enzo and Alexkid strip everything back to its ferocious bare bones with an engrossing four to the floor beat complemented by mechanical swirls of sound and yet more bone-shuddering bass and is exclusively available on vinyl only.
'Kilimanjaro 4' follows on another 4/4 trajectory but this time a 'hold it, now wait' Hip-Hop sample takes center stage. Supplemented by rich atmospherics and recurring blasts of bass 'Kilimanjaro 4' is another killer track made with superior standards of production quality.

ZamZam 95 is a link with the enigmatic French producer Hiss Is Bliss. We’ve been fans since the very first drop on their 777Hz label and these two sides drive straight to the heart of the dub techno galaxy.

Little is known about Hiss Is Bliss beyond the fact that they hail from France, are steeped in esotericism, and create tunes as masterfully grounded in roots reggae as they are in techno and related strands of electronic music. Their releases are utterly free of hype, beautifully crafted 10” vinyl plates that let the singers and tracks speak for themselves.

At the risk of being cheeky, “Nope” is absolute dub techno bliss. The 808 kick propels the track relentlessly forward, saturated washes of color streak the night sky, while syncopated hi hats and warm, soulful chords bring life- dare we say funk- to a style too often stiff and clinical, too in thrall to the past to truly step forward. Matching Hiss is Bliss in mystery, Ras Lys’ vocal brings a Dread perspective on music and the sometimes shady business of music, a grounded contrast to the deep inner space explored by the tune itself. The B-side version “Abbadia” splits musical atoms through the desk, focusing squarely on the stripped 4/4 elements and gloriously distorted pads that echo and cycle like tides in a darkly shimmering sea.
