Barcelona's techno powerhouse Oscar Escapa drops sweat-inducing two-tracker 'Enemy Returns' on DCLTD. Title track 'Enemy Returns': a relentless onslaught of hyperspeed techno, pounding kick drum, layers of hissing brushes and a 'womping' bass riff on the backbeat, laced with random off-set industrial stabs, the whole spiced with subtle but hooky variations. 'It's My Life': Escapa once again teams up with Joanna Dark -hers is the robotic voice- for more supersonic techno madness, this time the strata of wild percussion are spiked by a fuzzy bass arp riff, and the spoken automated vocal repeats the title like a mantra, ironically considering the spacey, industrial non-human vibe, while resonant guitar note patterns add a melodic element.

AJ Christou returns to Crosstown Rebels with his captivating two-tracker, ‘Desire’. Landing on 25th April 2025, the release sees the V-House Sounds boss return following his contribution to the label’s ‘Spirits’ VA series, showcasing his slick and warm sound across two crisp productions. Manchester-based favourite AJ Christou continues his impressive start to 2025 as he steps up for his first full release on Damian Lazarus’ revered Crosstown Rebels imprint with his latest two-track EP, ‘Desire’. An exciting name within the contemporary house landscape, Christou has earned his ever-rising reputation with releases via influential imprints such as Hot Creations, Paradise Music, Cuttin’ Headz and Fools Gold Records - collaborating with renowned names like A-Trak and Robert Owens - as well as his own V-House Sound imprint. Now, with ‘Desire’, the DJ/producer and label boss delivers a refined yet electrifying showcase of his sound, blending rolling grooves and subtle intricacies.Title track ‘Desire’ opens the release with its deep, pulsating basslines, crisp percussion, and a sultry vocal line that lures listeners into its infectious energy. On the flip, ‘Patience’ offers a more subtle yet equally engaging journey, featuring textured soundscapes, dynamic drum arrangements, and a groove-laden core primed for late-night moments. Emerging from the suburbs of North London in the early 1990s, Hulusi was an experimental electronic music collective formed by four friends of multi-ethnic origin: Cypriot, Caribbean, Indian and English heritage. Cultivating their musical practice within very specific parameters of time and space, Hulusi instills the essence and spirit of the acid house movement (and its aftermath) that had taken much of England by storm from 1988 onwards. The ‘Dream’ EP was the collective's first release of their self-funded and limited output, offering up a categorically elusive record that could soundtrack the most esoteric and life affirming club moments, whilst simultaneously satisfying the ears and obscure desires of those found dwelling in the heavily occupied ‘chill out’ rooms and nocturnal after parties. As the emerging UK rave scene aligned with newfound accessibility of music production, the late 80s and early 90s became a fertile ground for experimental electronic music, spawning a generation of bedroom and basement producers interacting with and creating music for often the very first time. Like many, Hulusi was a musical project that connected the dots between DIY spirit, technological advancements and the burgeoning cultural phenomenon of acid house. The project operated outside of the then perceived, traditional band conventions, instead developing their sound and exchanging ideas through the format of demo tapes and floppy disks, nurturing their work through individual bedroom studios and feedback sessions. Considered a crucial and possibly defining element of the record, is Hulusi’s unconscious exploration of the groups hybrid cultural identity. Rooted in a shared desire for self-invention, the Dream EPreflects Hulusi's response to a world of rapid musical and technological change. Each track on the record draws inspiration from both Western and Eastern musical frameworks, symbolized through the record’s structure. The ‘Western Side’, featuring "Dream," echoes the ambient techno and acid house influences of early rave culture and bands like 808 State and Orbital. In contrast, the ‘Eastern Side’ of the record is highly decorated with samples, yet stripped back, through its purposeful use of organic sounds, reflecting the group's fascination with blending Western modernism with imagined Eastern themes. Despite operating in near obscurity, Hulusi - The Dream EP acts as an audible catalyst to transport the listener to a different time and place, offering a lucid snapshot into the musical and cultural explorations of the past whilst simultaneously remaining a timeless piece of music.

From the same recording sessions as Bézier's first EP on Körperspannung records 'Negative Velocity', 'Contraption' channels a few moods and scenarios.

On the a-side 'Contraption' is an insignificant droplet darting through the sky. Soon it joins a disarray of objects positioned above the atmosphere, maneuvers in formation to reveal randomized, decentralized nodes packed for mayhem.

On the b-side Bézier shows a slice of his lived experience. Back in 2004 he used to go to house parties around East LA with friends they grew up with every weekend to listen to music. Winding through the Southern Californian roadway sprawl they'd drive 1/2 an hour to 1 hour on the I-10 (sometimes diverting to Route 60 if gridlock is expected) to get to the location, usually in a residential neighborhood. Being respectful of the communities and the struggle of the progenitors of this music, Bézier presents 'Blue Halo' as an homage to that sound with a twist: Cumbia-Synth to provide a little sauce for your ears. Dave Easlick joins the milieu to provide a percussive framework for this tune.

Lastly, 'Bit by an Electric Wire' showcases Easlick's drumming with an overlay from Bézier. As Dave rips and shreds through his drum kit the OCD machine living inside Yang's brain switches on and organizes, collates and files that dataset into a hardcore rhythm track.

The Situation collective headed up by Mr Mulatto and Frank Situation return with their much-anticipated new album ‘Audio Proxemics’. Across nine sumptuous tracks it explores a warm array of sounds from jazz-flecked deep house to soulful nu-disco with guests like Javonntte, Faze Action's Robin Lee and more. Situation is a collective of DJs, producers, editors, and musicians who hail from the five valleys of Stroud in the UK. Between them they have deep roots in electronic music and have been entrenched in the scene on many levels from hosting their own events, organising free parties, releasing everything from deep house to tech under several aliases and, since 2014, have established Situationism Records with cultured sounds from the likes of Ashley Beedle, Greg Wilson, Dr. Packer, and more.

This accomplished new album has been two years in the making and began with three tracks recorded by South African vocalist Venessa Jackson while she was on tour in the UK. As well as Venessa’s sweet tones, vocalists from across the globe contribute alongside some core Situation members: James Payne, Phil aka Dr Keys and Jon Gray aka BitterSuite who take care of bass, arrangement, production, and guitar.

It’s a timeless record that spans everything from jazz to funk with real musicality and standout instrumental skills lighting up each track. Underground favourite Javonntte adds deep and smoky tones to the flute laced and sunny house sounds of 'Bullit' while 'Never Taken A Weekend Off' is a lush broken beat sound with radiant synth leads and vocal hooks that echo classic Brit funk. 'Mrs Donovan' is a more club-ready sound with dazzling keys dancing over dusty house drums and 'Fairy Godmother' is a gorgeous slice of disco house with vibrant strings from Faze Action's Robin Lee and an effortlessly cool acid jazz vocal. After receiving Magari and Ilija Rudman’s tracks within a short time of each other it felt like a perfect fit to pair them together. Both productions give a nod to the 80s House sound whilst expertly bringing the aesthetic up to date.

Magari has provided us with an eyes closed dub’d out groover and Rudman supplies a winding and weaving synthesised journey, giving a sonic glimpse in to his fully stocked studio.

It’s always been top of our list to work with the inimitable Mark Seven. His music is a staple of our sets and as many of you know, is somewhat of guiding light of our scene. Any fan of Parkway Records knows it’s always an exciting day when they announce something new, needless to say we are proud to present a Parkway Powermix on M.A.D.

‘Neon Storm’: the title track juxtaposes rampaging techno beats of pure primitive power, with futurist dystopian elements – fuzzy hoover growls and stabs, doppler builds, and an unsettling robot girl’s vocal riffs. A mysterious operatic choir surprisingly dovetails with the resulting soundscape as the dark sounds become increasingly ominous.

‘Moving Machines’ keeps up the energy with galloping techno, metallic stabs and a chopped melody with a 90s vibe as a rising doppler siren you can feel in your teeth spans a gargantuan breakdown… another shot of dance dynamite.

‘No Return’: similarly powerful, its resistless onslaught of thudding beats, bass snarls and regiments of rattling hi-hats herald spacey FX and an alien-like melodic vocal, alongside a suitably almost-Scottish-influenced melody.

'Neon Storm' is an apt description to this colourful yet chaotic set of tracks that have been making serious impact in my sets across the last months of touring. I wanted to create an EP that represented my energy but drew from the best Drumcode groove style and I’ve been so happy to watch how they go down in Adam’s peak time sets too.’

A collection of ten hypnotic guitar renditions that dive deeply into the traditional compositional musicality that underpins Harakami’s hallucinatory beatscapes before reconsidering them under a fresh, innovative and engaging new light. River: The Timbre of Guitar #2 Rei Harakami signals a new level of awareness and understanding of both Rei Harakami’s significance and Ayane Shino’s undeniable talent.

VITAL SALES POINTS:

In 1996 Tokyo-based label Sublime Records received a cassette demo from Rei Harakami, a 26-year-old Japanese experimental filmmaker, and musician. Within one year Harakami’s debut LP ‘Unrest’ was released. As the 21st century dawned, Harakami was becoming a critically acclaimed figure, and there was a feeling in Japan that Harakami would be an inevitable successor to such luminaries as Haruomi Hosono and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Sadly Harakami passed away at age 40 in 2011, leaving behind a musical legacy that seemed to deserve more recognition. A fitting tribute now comes from the incredibly gifted classical guitarist Ayane Shino. Continuing her album series ‘The Timbre of Guitar’ (the inaugural release of which was ‘Sakura’ - a cover album of Susumu Yokota's seminal album, released through the Swiss label, Mental Groove Records in 2021), she now presents ‘River ???? : The Timbre of Guitar #2 Rei Harakami’. Ayane has reworked some of Harakami’s standout tracks into an album of tranquil yet complex compositions helping to build a new level of awareness and understanding of Rei Harakami’s significance. A collection of ten hypnotic guitar renditions that dive deeply into the traditional compositional musicality that underpins Harakami’s hallucinatory beatscapes before reconsidering them under a fresh, innovative and engaging new light.

In the years that followed Harakami’s untimely passing, Sublime Records continued to sign and support new artists emerging from Japan’s rich and fertile electronic music scene. This eventually led to a meeting with gifted classical guitarist Ayane Shino in 2020. Although a new name within electronica, Shino’s classical resume is impeccable. She has performed with a range of prestigious orchestras in concert halls and at music festivals across Japan, Europe, and South America while playing classical guitar for numerous animations, movies and television commercials and holding various educational roles. These days, she also hosts the Tokyo Harmonics radio show, which is syndicated through Hyogo prefecture’s Ashiya Radio and TJS Radio in Los Angeles.

During her time completing a masters at Tokyo’s University of the Arts, Shino became fascinated by Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Oneohtrix Point Never, Steve Reich, and, closer to home, Harakami and Susumu Yokota. ”I found myself in an environment where I was surrounded by fellow students who produced computer music, live electronics, and installations,” she explains. Following her meeting with Sublime, Hideoki Amano, the producer and owner of Musicmine, the parent company of the label, asked Shino if she would be open to transcribing and recording an album of covers of the late, great composer, producer and DJ Susumu Yokota’s music in incorporate into then-upcoming events commemorating the 5th anniversary of his death and reissues of his past works. “Yokota made music with the Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer and samplers, not in a way like a conventional instrumentalist, so I was aware it might be more of a challenge for her,” Amano explains. Fittingly, Shino was up for his suggestion, leading to ‘Sakura: The Timbre Of Guitars #1 Susumu Yokota’. Song by song, Sakura highlighted Shino’s free-flowing playing and prowess at translating electronic music into classical guitar shapes.
After considering Harakami’s background as an instrumentalist, Amano felt revisiting his catalogue should be the next step for Shino. Well-versed in how often classical versions of electronic music tend to fall flat, he asked her to examine Harakami’s songs closely, select the musical phrases suitable for guitar and create arrangements that would sound interesting to music listeners with a deep engagement with ambient, techno and electronica. In Harakami’s discography, Shino discovered “a sense of simplicity, warmth, moisture and a floating sensation.” “I was gripped by his songs, which had an array of sounds that gave me a sense of mystery but also coexisted with a sense of familiarity,” she explained. Moving beyond his official releases, Shino began digging through YouTube to find live recordings, radio appearances and obscure outtakes. Within her mind’s eye, imagining playing his songs on guitar was effortless. On her approach to the album, Ayane explains: “For this album, I succeeded in spinning some exquisite, silk thread like delicate tones, interwoven with human warmth, gentleness and simplicity. And I was also able to rework Rei Harakami's distinctive sound with a floating feel to it and transform it into a very classical guitar sound. I hope many people will be able to receive this group of sounds that I created in this album that I played with all my heart.” A record of limitless innate beauty, ‘River ???? : The Timbre of Guitar #2 Rei Harakami’ is a delicate and thoughtful body of work. A true masterclass in deconstruction and subsequent rebuilding, and an eternal lesson in how the art that we leave behind can outlive us all.

Side B unlike the previous side this begins far more reflective, as the journey progress it becomes more unsettling once more - a baroque minimalist piece followed by modular synths melding with breaks and drum machine - ambient field recordings , a mesh of carefully gathered and selected samples - FSOL perfection.

Gangsta rap history makes a comeback for RSD 2025 with the re-release of Tweedy Bird Roc’s 1994 album, 'No Holds Barred.' This album, which was previously only available on CD, is now available for the first time as a LP vinyl after 30 years. It was the second and final project produced by the Compton rapper, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 52. One of his most significant achievements was organising and recording a collaborative album featuring both Bloods and Crips rappers and gang members (Tweedy Bird Roc, an active Crips member), aiming to promote peace between the rival gangs. Luca Olivotto returns to his own Small Great Things with a new four-track EP entitled ‘Let’s Get Deep’.

Luca Olivotto and his Small Great Things imprint has been keeping the house flame burning bright in recent years out of Berlin, regularly dropping soul-infused raw cuts perfectly sculpted for ultimate dance floor delight. Here to mark the label’s tenth release, Olivotto is at the helm once again with ‘Let’s Get Deep’.

Title cut ‘Let’s Get Deep’ leads with saturated drums, an amalgamation of intertwined keys, synth stabs, cinematic strings and vocal chants, underpinned by a weighty, bouncing bass groove. ‘I’m Not With You’ follows and shifts focus towards choppy piano chords, dynamic drums and tension building strings throughout.

On the flip side ‘Don’t Need To Know’, embraces a more dubbed out House feel with fluttering delayed chords, heavily reverberated vocal lines and swinging reduced drums. ‘Givin All My Love’ then rounds out the release with a more disco house tinged aesthetic fusing a snaking bass groove with plucked melodies, funk-infused keys and organic drums.

South Londons’ indomitable Medlar delivers an ambitious new album

The long-time underground favourite has collaborated with the likes of Dele Sosimi, Rebekah Reid, Deevoenay, Finn Peters, Sam Virdie, Afla Sackey and Arnau Obiols on an album that finds him taking his production to new levels.
From roots playing illegal raves in the South West to building up a cultured catalogue that bounces between house and garage, Medlar has long been part of the underground conversation. He has dropped a previous album and many innovative remixes and edits for the likes of Billy Cobham and Shirley Lites, worked in the studio and on stage with Afro legend Dele Sosimi and most recently released an album under his own name that collected myriad different sonic sketches from the past 15 years.

Islands is an altogether different proposition that comes after establishing himself as a mix engineer and producer of other people's music. In that time, Medlar has honed his skills, learnt new tricks and grown more able to express himself in sound. The result is an album that explores a more electronic palette inspired by '80s fusion sounds whilst maintaining a loose, organic flow through his use of live instrumentation. “The idea for the LP was for a collection of music which could sit alone as club tracks, but would work equally well as part of a whole. The name Islands came from this, as there's some connecting ideas but the tracks sit independently in their own little sonic worlds. I took a lot of inspiration from early 80’s electronic music produced during early years of MIDI technology… proto house, jazz fusion, electronic disco and experimental ambient. I wanted to juxtapose some of these methods with more contemporary production and make something that's ultimately quite fun!” says Medlar of the record which could easily soundtrack a summer road trip.

Across 11 tracks, he blends old-school techniques like a fusion of live instruments, FM synthesis and MIDI triggered vocal samples with more contemporary touches such as punchy, club-friendly drums and dub inspired, speaker-wobbling low end. The result is less reliant on samples than his previous works and makes for a perfect blend of retro authenticity and future freshness.

Da Lukas's Doin’ Me Wrong EP is a Two-track full of disco goodness that opens with the title track, a driving, percussive workout with a powerful vocal performance. ‘Good Man’ continues the party music with a dynamic horn section and disco breakdown. Venice Affaie seeks only to give humans a look into their own lives, history, suffering, and peace, all while providing a backbeat sprinkled with sexuality, romanticism, and especially entertainment. The concept of “Ascension” is much larger than a description of upward motion; it is the human description of our evolution from four to two, from caves to high rises, from child to elder, and from stardust to flesh. This collection of songs has been in the works since 2021 and meticulously arranged to provide the best possible lens into Venice Affair’s concept of human existence.

The track “Alive” seeks to display the contrast between the wholesomeness of romantic affection and the emotional torture of such affection falling through due to externalities. “Dead of Night” is an observation of emotions one may feel when the subject of their love is away without care, leaving in their path longing and unspecified vitriol. “The Web” is a natural progression of these emotions in the verses, a culmination of feelings that leads one to leave. Leaving a once bountiful love is compared through the analogy of nomadic people leaving a region which was once home, now depleted of resources, rain, and vegetation.

Rolling Bahamas makes its debut here with a first release from Rock Star Heroes who offer up a couple of hard-to-find and previously unreleased instrumentals of rock classics. These are perfectly designed for the club and collide rock, funk, disco and more into fresh forms. Opener 'Undercover Of The Night' is raw, hard-hitting groove magic with organic percussion and live drums laden with funky guitar riffs and lively chord work that brings the whole thing to life. On the flip is a rework of 'Miss You' which still has all the swagger of the iconic original with sultry harmonica luring you to the floor where the masterful drums and guitars will keep you moving.

It is a groove-infused journey designed for those who thrive on the pulse of the dance floor. Brussels-based artist Adja Fassa releases her debut album, two years after her well-received EP IRONEYE - and it is promising to be quite a ride.

This contemporary body of work showcases 11 stories, each telling their story of the impact our capitalistic society has on our most intimate moments: from dystopian neo-soul tales of Deliveroo-drivers being stalked by telemarketers (both of them selling/delivering literal 'hope and dreams'), to re-imagined jazz standards and classical songs about conditional friendships, based on time and money. We even get her take on the 'stick-it-to-the-man-sing-along-rock-song', which she called 'Sucking on my Emphatitties'. And then we have the title song 'Golden Retrieve Her' which is as much an accumulation of feelings as of musical curiosities

" 'Golden Retrieve Her' is a wordplay on wanting to retrieve my kindness in a violent social system. Simultaneously, it is criticizing the fact that we, the masses, are often asked to either be naive or pretend we are. All of this accumulated in a visual image of what our social system considers 'the perfect, obedient nuclear family': a kind couple with 2.4 children, a house in the suburbs and... a Golden Retriever." ~ Adja

Serious and concrete topics, wrapped up in a symbolic package, as Adja values both straightforwardness, critical thinking and, paradoxically, a bit of mysticism. For her visual artwork, she created four, self-made tarot cards, that represent the four themes on the album:

'The Wheel Of Fortune', embodies the desire to get the upper hand in a system that doesn't align with your values. 'The Mirror', represents projection and likeness within lost connections (whether with strangers or with friends), 'The Dark Wheel' embodies the turning point of the wheel of fortune, where one is completely surrendered to their own moral demise and 'The Cave' stands for the - sometimes painful, sometimes blissful - return to one's own mind and heart.

Musically, this album contains as much variety as song titles, as Adja continues to explore her own depths as an artist and musician, together with her partner-in-crime, guitarist, composer and jazz-arranger Alexis Nootens. She collaborated with music producer Adam Scrimshire, who was featured in the Guardian as UK's one of three most significant soul music producers alongside Swindle and Inflo, and renowned Belgianproducer, mixer and musician Koen Gisen, who both mentored her into deepening her own productional skills. Last but not least, she gathered 13 musicians to deliver the sound she brings to her album, among them her 5 steady band members and 8 studio musicians from all over Europe. As we said: it promises to be quite a ride.

Classic 1988 'early' house LP reissued on yellow vinyl for the first time for RSD 2025. Made by Royal House aka Todd Terry, the legendary producer & DJ from New York who was a staple for house music and produced under many different aliases throughout his time such as Black Riot, CLS, D'Effect, Dred Stock, Frontline, Frozen Inc., Gypsymen, Hardhouse, House Of Gypsies, Limelife, and amongst many others, Masters At Work (Before he gifted the name to Louie Vega & Kenny Dope). Everybody who was into house and it’s culture in 1988 owned this record, now you have the chance to own this on yellow vinyl for the first time. 'Can you Party' is still played on national radio stations and one of the staples in rave and it’s scenes. Remastered for 2025 in the original 'PAID' designed sleeve but now in transparent yellow vinyl for RSD. Limited edition.

A techy double A slice of house from label head Kaz James thats been doing the rounds with some heavy hitting DJ piers. Both tracks have been staple part of Kaz's sets at Art Basel, Desa Kitsuné Bali, Burning Man, Brooklyn Mirage, Pacha Ibiza, Koko London, Mayan Warrior Tulum, his Mykonos residency Alamagou and beyond.

The release follows 'Sun is Shining' which was supported by the likes of Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and Pete Tong as Essential New Tune.

We have a proud introduced 4th vinyl-only release from our original series, featuring Romanian artists Funky Trip with two original cuts and Barac on remix duties. Titled “Alpha EP”, the record delivers a solid dose of inspiring minimal rhythms mastered by Mike Grinser at Manmade Mastering Berlin.


Funky Trip stands out from the Romanian new wave of electronic music producers, exploring an endless universe of distinct sounds and emotions reflected on his releases with Rawax, Nazca, Stamp Records, Artreform and others. On this EP, he invites acclaimed local artist Barac of Moment Records to join in and leave his fingerprint on the title track, laying out a soothing rhythm influenced by psychedelic elements.

Side A opens with the title track, “Alpha”, an immersive minimalistic composition powered by dreamy background atmospheres, swinging drumming patterns, a solid wobbling bassline and mysterious vocals that seamlessly intertwine with tension-building chords and breathing moments. Following, “Dreams” gets a bit more groovy, focusing on the percussion, the punching keyboard stabs and the phased effects that run throughout the track, all while having a subtle touch of melancholy radiating from the piano and complementary layers.

On the flipside, we find Barac‘s reinterpretation of A1 dropping a twisted progressive sound that constantly evolves as wave upon wave of spiralling synths and chugging drums mix in a massive dancefloor tool perfect for peak-time moments at any party.

Every label’s first release sets a tone. With "Pegasi EP", Saraw establishes itself with a focus on sonic precision and ethereal atmospheres, exploring the intersection of house, techno, and minimalism. Founded by Root, the label debuts with Apolinic, a project that approaches these genres with a sharp, cinematic aesthetic. "Pegasi EP" emphasizes rhythm, space, and texture, with remixes by label owner Root and seasoned producer Tommy Vicari Jnr.

'Alt Nod De Cravata' (A1) builds around crisp percussion and evolving walls of sound, creating a subtle yet persistent momentum perfect for special peak-time moments. 'Root’s remix' (A2) deepens the original’s swing, heightening its hypnotic effect through morphing basslines, shuffling hi-hats, whispered vocal fragments, and emotive pads. After years of silence dedicated to side projects, DJENA makes a triumphant return with his solo EP, In Motion. A testament to his passion for eclecticism, this release seamlessly bridges house and breakbeat, enriched by a stunning remix from the legendary French producer DJ W!LD.

The journey begins with the title track, In Motion, a hypnotic breakbeat composition where deep pads intertwine with tribal vocal elements, evoking raw emotion and sonic depth. This track is designed to captivate both the ears and the heart. DJ W!LD then takes the reins, transforming In Motion into an irresistible dancefloor anthem. His remix injects a house-driven groove, elevating the track into an emotive yet club-ready masterpiece.

Flipping to the B-side, Thrust propels listeners into a deep tech-driven rhythm, gradually intensifying into a peak-time energy surge. Rounded arps, subtle vocal textures, and celestial pads craft an immersive, ethereal adventure—blurring the lines between introspection and movement.

Over the last ten years, Brazil’s Millos Kaiser has cultivated a reputation as a top-ranking selector passionate about bringing his home country’s underappreciated music to the world. After starting as a punk and indie musician in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, he turned his hand to DJing in the late 2000s and relocated to Sāo Paulo. There, he spent the 2010s rocking city squares, warehouse parties and street parties with DJ Trepanado in the Selvagem duo before cofounding the celebrated Selva Discos label in 2017.

Since 2019, Millos’s focus has shifted to his solo DJ career and ventures as an edit maker, reissue compilation curator, audiophile bar co-owner, and now producer. Planet Trip Records has been very good friends with Millos for a long time and is very pleased to present his first original release, the Te Quero Perto (I Want You Close) EP, available in vinyl and digital formats.

Assembled like a DJ-friendly 12” for late 20th-century nightclub specialists, Te Quero Perto kicks off with Millos’ original ‘club mix’ and an accompanying ‘instrumental’ version (digital.only). Driven by an uptempo machine beat straight out of the mid-'80s, rave pianos, 303 acid bass, and an explosive Brazilian pop vocal sung by Juju Bonjour, it’s an absolute belter of a tune and a masterclass in in-period styling.

Elsewhere on the EP, Millos’s European friends Lipelis & Orion Agassi turn in an equally belting Latin Freestyle remix in vocal, dub and instrumental mixes (instrumental is digital only). Rounding things out, fellow Rio de Janeiro producer Paco Cabana throws the tune into a cocktail shaker before pouring a sunkissed, percussion-heavy reimagining for us to sip on. Front to back, it’s an all-killer, no-filler debut from a generational talent.

By now an essential part of the Mindgames story, Kloke follows up his LP with Tim Reaper on Hyperdub with 4 tracks of Jungle vitality. As always with Andy's productions, there are fragments of memories that you can't quite identify embedded in the tunes framework, but the Kloke magic is using these familiar elements to build new tunes that enhance and embody this era of sound perfectly albeit with a distinctly recognisable identity. Of course this is the raison d'être of the Jungle revivalist producer set, but very few have mastered it like Kloke.

Slightly more floor-centric than his last Mindgames set, Mindgame 8 has a rugged vibe with punchy b lines and jagged breaks, doubling down on it's embedded authenticity.

Drum and bass reggae legends, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespear, are the featured strongholds of The Revolutionaries, a conglomeration of many of reggae's finest studio musicians, brought together to create some of the best dub of the late 70's.

"Black Ash Dub" is a wonderful example of the group at its peak. Sly's drumming prowess is at its best on this lp, complete with his famous crash cymbals on the 4th beat in 4/4 time versus the 1st beat. His skills are legendary due in large part to the bass playing of Robbie. His grooves are intense, yet very supple, and perfectly augment Sly's grooves.

Each track is a tribute to a drug; the 2 major club hits are "Marijuana" and "Cocaine".

All cut at the legendary Channel One recording studio in Kingston and mixed by the genius touches of dub masters Scientist and Prince Jammy.

Originally released in 1980 on the mighty Trojan Records, "Black Ash Dub" is today widely heralded as one of the finest dub collections of the era and considered an essential addition to the collections of all serious fans of the genre.

Portland's finest practitioners of Great Black Music offering to the planet! All Is Sound could not be a more apt title for this. Through saxophone, cello, piano, and flutes The Cosmic Tones Research Trio created a truly beautiful record. All Is Sound breaks new ground. At its heart, it's healing/meditation music, but the Gospel and Blues roots are in there too...as well as hints of forward-looking Spiritual jazz.

As sincere a record as you could ever hope for. Music is indeed the healing force of the universe. Formed by alto sax player and composer Roman Norfleet, cellist and multi-instrumentalist Harlan Silverman, and pianist Kennedy Verrett—who also plays a wide variety of wind instruments—, The Cosmic Tones Research Trio focuses on healing music. Notes:
The album features the group playing Gary McFarland arrangements of Kuhn's compositions, accompanied by a string section on several tracks, with Kuhn delivering stream of consciousness lyrics in an unplanned and largely improvised fashion in the studio. However, that wasn't the only surprising aspect to the session. Airto Moreira's appearance was more by chance than design, he having just popped by the studio, again, unplanned. The 'Steve Kuhn' album is all the stronger for these extemporaneous and serendipitous elements and showcases a band at the top of their game; tight and funky yet relaxed and flowing like molten gold, with stabs and washes of keyboard from Kuhn. Splashes of free playing enter the session, but the band never stray too far from a melodic and harmonious centre of gravity. Kuhn's deft keyboard skills provide melodic embroidery to the impressive rhythmic textures and tonal colours of Carter, Cobham and Moreira. As if the music wasn't enough, the album is given extra significance by the fact that, within a few months of the recording, McFarland would die after being mysteriously poisoned by methadone in a New York bar. In a sense, it is a valedictory album from McFarland, channeled by Kuhn and the band.

It's among the hardest of Kuhn's albums to find so this reissue is most welcome. Luxuriate in the glow of Kuhn's Fender Rhodes and the pliant funky bass of Ron Carter; immerse yourself in the percussive interplay of Moreira and Cobham, a pairing that has rarely sounded so good. This is such an exquisite album; you will lose yourself in its delicate power and find yourself coming back to it again and again.

Established artist management company Palm Artists will be launching a new label this May. Named Palm Recs, the maiden release comes from fast-rising British-collective Girls Of The Internet in the form of the below single, Above.

The group described how Moloko’s The Time Is Now inspired them, stating: “We had the words running through our minds for a few weeks, just thinking about where they took us. It sparked us into writing Above. All the best love songs have a shot of poison. Musically, we were back at Patrick Adams meets Basic Channel.”

It’s a blissful five-minute offering, made up of rounded percussion and a warming underlying groove. Gentle kick-hat combos make up the overarching rhythm, whilst soothing vocals accentuate the track’s reflective nature. Dreamy chords soon meander into rolling key chimes to form an emotive, feel-good cut.

Girls Of The Internet have swiftly risen up the electronic music ranks since their debut release four years ago. Known for an eclectic disco-inspired sound both behind the decks and in the studio, their productions have found a welcome home on Defected, Classic Music Company and Heist Recordings in recent years, receiving support from Nemone, The Blessed Madonna and Axel Boman in the process.

Palm Artists is an East London based artist management company with over a decade of experience in developing some of the most exciting and successful musicians in the UK. Managing the likes of Gorgon City, Sonny Fodera, Adelphi Music Factory and a myriad of other industry heavyweights, the company has received several accolades over the years including; the BBC Sound Of 2019 while releasing multiple chart-topping singles, critically acclaimed album campaigns and delivering global tours for their roster. 2021 will see Palm Recs release a series of singles and remixes from some of their favourite up and coming acts, with producers such as Preditah, Fideles and many others soon to be debuting on the imprint.

Renowned for his masterful reworks, Dr Packer delivers another essential disco floor-filler, breathing new life into T-Connection’s 1979 classic Saturday Night. This pair of syncopated, energized, immersive techno tracks comes with remixes by Tresor residents Fireground and DC's own Black Rave Culture, a trio composed of James Bangura, Amal, and Nativesun. 'Waves of Hope' opens the record in full force with a relentless beat that combines early 90s euphoric energy and jacked-up snares over a fat bassline, soulful pad progressions, technoid bleeps, dubby washes, and Maria Amor's own soothing cut-up vocals, elegantly touching several foundational club music sounds through an inspired lens. On the A2, 'Hotspring Love' brings levitating, airy textures and mixes them with subtle acid arpeggios, pure-hearted vocal melodies, and bouncy percussive accents. The rolling subwoofers of a proper techno party can practically be seen, the fast-paced kick perfectly perforating the bassline. Two remixes can be found on the B-side: first up is Berlin-based duo Fireground, who flip the original 'Waves of Hope' into a more concise take, exploring its dub influences and adding in cinematic, ravey chord progressions to a hypnotizing, ecstatic effect. The italian duo add a distinct dose of Neapolitan techno, carrying the textured intensity of that unmistakable sound. Black Rave Culture pick up 'Hotspring Love' and turn it into an ode to junglism, reappropriating the original pads in a classic DnB workframe with crisp breakbeats and an absolutely nasty bassline that no words can do justice to.
