Dave Hamilton revived ‘My Sweet Baby’ his 1967 release by J T Rhythm on a harmony group from Flint, Michigan called the Mark-Keys. The backing tracks are similar, but the harmonies are softer and it is this version that appeals to the Lowrider scene devotees. The beautiful ballad flip ‘Heavenly Thing’ adds further interest for the collectors and DJs who are so influential nowadays; the high demand has brought about this Repro pressing.

The Frosted label is back with more brilliance from Inland Knights in the form of this newly remastered version of the classic 'Figure It Out.' It was first put out back in 2013 as the first release on the label and remains a vital tune from the British pair. On the flip, Mark Farina is one of those hallowed producers who always has his own unique sonic signature, most famously under his Mushroom Jazz alias. His edit brings plenty of depth and broken beat lushness with noodling guitar riffs and spoken words making it a backroom gem.

Chicago legend, Green Velvet, returns to Toolroom as he locks horns with label founder Mark Knight and studio partner, James Hurr, for 'The Greatest Thing Alive'. A low slung, chunky affair that screams Miami Space terrace at 8am! Quirky, full of character and Green Velvets unmistakable vocal re-work of the classic 'Mannish Boy' from Muddy Waters pushes this record into a really special place. Green Velvet debuted on the label back in 2015 alongside Technasia with 'Suga', a record that went onto to be an overall Beatport #1 and remained as their highest selling track for many years that followed, the track also sits on an impressive 9m streams. On the flipside, head honcho Mark Knight, returns with studio cohort and DJs favourite James Hurr, as they take on one of House music's all-time classic records; 'Lady (Hear Me Tonight)'. No messing around, Mark and James offer up an alternative take to this stone cold classic, bringing the infectious vocal and iconic guitar riff to the forefront, mixing into a signature Mark Knight club heavy beat. RT PRO is the new Right Tempo line “for professional use”, addressed to a discerning audience and released on 12” Single format along with a curated packaging. This first instalment is a follow-up to the acclaimed "The Congregation - Jazz Alliance International" compilation by Jazzcat. It features never previously released and brand new remixes of the mythical "Seasons in My Mind" track by Japanese producer Yellowtail feat. legendary jazz singer Mark Murphy. In addition to the Original, come remixes by Further Out Recordings’ head Richard E feat. saxophonist/flutist Jake Telford, by Frankson (one half of the British electronic duo Part Time Heroes), and by all-round musician and producer Emanative, who invited his longtime friend and collaborator, keyboardist Jessica Lauren, to join him for this special project.

2023 REPRESS

Two dub edits "Bad" and "Badder" deconstructed from the track "Badman" with DRS, from legendary Mark Ernestus and exclusively released via his Hardwax Record store on 29th January and via Bandcamp on Feb 12th. "Getting to work with Mark Ernestus is a real honour, I collected his and Maurizio Von Oswald's work for many years and still do," he remarks. "It's hard to avoid the influence of these guys in electronic music across genres and so it is a real pleasure to have Mark do his thing with the Badman tune which I think sounds closely related."

Finger Prince recordings debut with the ‘Make U Feel Project’

A four tracker with the same assignment handed to four artists including some of the original Music For Freaks and Classic Music Company recording artists.

The first release is a close-knit affair with Lil’Mark handing out the project to who he regards as three close family members. No brief was given with the material so that all versions were unique. No spoilers either.

First up on side A, Mark provides a true groove with the swing he’s renowned for. Chords, catchy muting, stabs of vocal and a heavy rolling bassline sets the scene. Straight up house.

Track 2 is from Pale People who takes a great dub approach looping the bass and keys beneath the Vox adding tight percussion reminiscent of his Phonic Crunch collab’s with Mark. After a long hiatus it's great to have him back.

Side B Track 1 comes from Rob Mello doing his ’No Ears’ spectacular. It’s the Classic No Ears sound making great use of original elements and sounding fantastic as always.

Belgium’s export to Ibiza Bart Ricardo gets the final say on track 2. Taking it deeper Bart brings stretched chords into focus over a HEAVY kick and big bottom end. This track has a relentless groove with some well executed breaks.
