Since his earliest days, Ben Frost has been fascinated by the cinematic qualities of the guitar. His output to this point has hinted at this, but with »Steel Wound« he makes a bold statement of intent.

Finding his way to a deserted stretch of Johanna Beach along the Great Ocean Road (Victoria, Australia) in early 2003 Frost set up a remote studio at a derelict cabin overlooking the icy waters of Bass Strait. With a constant wind flowing off the sea his only companion, Frost started work on a series of improvisations that would eventually become »Steel Wound«. A few months go by and Frost has made his way back to civilization. He begins editing the masses of treated guitar from the Johanna Beach improvisations and before long a theme takes hold - one that very much reflects the isolation of the environment where the tracks were created.

Each of the pieces on »Steel Wound« is a epic journey, coloured with a deep sense of filmic narrative and suggested dialogues. The textural quality of the works, laced with field recordings and lost vocal fragments, sketches out the emotional soundscapes Frost had unwittingly gathered during his time at Johanna Beach. Each piece is a splintered fragment in time – a forgotten memory beautifully rediscovered in a moment of introspection.

London artist CASSIMM returns to Rekids with ‘I’ll Take You There’, landing 26th September 2025. It follows his recent remixes for label boss Radio Slave and his 2024 ‘House of Moves’ EP on the imprint, which won support from the likes of Paul Woolford, Dam Swindle, Hannah Holland, and Laurent Garnier.

Charlotte de Witte releases single ‘The Heads that Know’ feat. Comma Dee, out October 2nd on KNTXT. It’s the final LP single to keep excitement building before her self-titled debut album ‘Charlotte de Witte’ drops on November 7th.

The single release marks the start of her 2nd-5th October London city takeover. Following the insane success of her NYC takeover, she plays 5 shows in 4 days in London, including The Shard, fabric, The Cause, Magazine + one TBA. This mix of intimate cultural spaces and large uncompromising venues celebrates de Witte’s love of the city and its rave scene over her 10+ year career.

‘I'm very excited to launch this single in London’ Charlotte says. ‘The city has played a massive role in my growth as an artist and I’ve had many memorable shows there, from the smaller and more intimate venues like Village Underground to Tobacco Dock, Printworks and Drumsheds and many summer festivals. The new single, the third release from the LP, is already a set highlight for de Witte, going back to May’s pop-up secret set on the Williamsburg Bridge. It features Welsh producer/DJ Comma Dee, D&B, Hip Hop, Rap, & Grime exponent. Says Charlotte, ‘it’s a poetic dispatch from the shadows. It's for the ones who move with quiet power. This track is a tribute to the underground. It's for the ones who move with certainty. It's for the heads that know.’

‘The Heads that Know’ feat. Comma Dee: Fast, rattling techno spiced with spacey sine wave sounds and an acid dose in the breakdown, supports a hypnotic high synth theme and Comma Dee’s rhyming rap double quatrain through a crescendo/diminuendo swoop.

Australian post-grunge band Silverchair released their debut album Frogstomp when the band members were only 15 years of age. In just 9 days they recorded a fantastic album, in which they show that even young teenagers know how to rock. In the tradition of Pearl Jam and Nirvana they recorded an album sounding like Stone Temple Pilots. Daniel Johns is not only a great vocalist, but also a good guitar player, both playing slow as fast songs. Yes, this is definitely one of the best efforts you can make when you’re still this young. And even now almost 15 years after its release it sounds fantastic.

Focus, integrity and substance, all allied to a relentless work ethic and that essential (if indefinable) sprinkling of magic dust, have kept Nick Warren at the top of the electronic music tree for not far short of forty years.

In that timespan, Nick has been tour DJ for Massive Attack, held a residency at Cream, been a Glastonbury regular, and become the UK’s most successful export to Argentina (in no small part due to his touring brand The Soundgarden). As half of Way Out West, he has helped write (and re-write) the rule book for club-based electronic acts, achieving true longevity without compromise. He has curated over a dozen essential compilations – a mainstay of the Global Underground series whose heavyweight influence is still felt to this day, an in-demand decknician for pivotal brands such as Renaissance and Balance, and the very first DJ entrusted with creating a blueprint for the now iconic Back to Mine series.

It's quite the CV, a career many can only dream of. But Nick has long had one further itch in need of scratching. Inspired at a young age by his dad’s Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream albums, coming of age with experimental labels like 4AD and Factory, roots deep in the dub-wise scene of his native Bristol, a long time collector of exotica and obscure film soundtracks…all that knowledge and passion has long been crying out to be channelled into a Warren solo album.

All of which brings us to the career-defining Turbulence. The world is certainly a turbulent place as Nick gets set to unleash his masterwork, but the musical turbulence at work here arguably takes its lead from other interpretations of the word – turbulence as a feeling of heightened intensity, turbulence marked by a sense of unpredictability.

Turbulence is a window into Nick’s musical soul, and the myriad styles and influences that reside there, drip-fed into a melodic melting pot to create a unique sonic stew. Tempos and styles switch and interlock effortlessly, the mood ebbs and flows like the best DJ sets, and the running order, from the ethereal opener Loveland all the way through to the achingly beautiful closing cut Sadly (in tandem with Tripswitch, one of several noteworthy collaborations) showcases an artist at the top of his game, and with a deep understanding of the concept of the long player.

We all need some turbulence.

Next up on Mesh is Throwing Snow’s ‘Jackals’, a five-track EP drawing on echoes of UK subcultures.
Written in Ireland late last year with the London 2010s in mind, ‘Jackals’ is Throwing Snow’s love letter to his time spent there, tapping into a detailed web of sounds and styles through a personal lens, but skillfully produced to resonate with many. Locating memories in a transient city that is constantly reconfiguring itself, each track is an attempt at honouring fragments of recent, but seemingly distant, musical history. Taking us from DMZ at Brixton Mass to FWD at Plastic People, or Future Garage Fridays in Soho (IYKYK) to early days of NTS, the EP captures some of the fleeting moments that continue to play a significant part in the city’s sonic patchwork.

Production-wise, all the tracks share the same sounds twisted in different directions. The hats are vocoded with noise and random LFOs, and much like the chaos of London, every bounce has a unique pattern.

Opening track ‘Jackals’ walks the line between dub and UK bass, quickly overtaken by a wonky synth lead that spirals eternally upwards. ‘Ohnein’ jumps in with a massive pad swirling above a half-time step. In Throwing Snow’s own words, ‘I had to check with Martyn whether I'd ripped him off, turns out I hadn't, but it's a heavy head nod crossed with Un Vingt from my first 12"’. ‘A Cloud Mountain’ - a nod to the timeless James Holden remix of Nathan Fake’s ‘The Sky Was Pink’, leans into a maximalist progression of deep chords and fractured synths. ‘Forged’ steps into a weightier space with sparse drums driven forward by a deep cut of bass and twitchy echoes. Rounding things off, ‘Path Dependency’ speeds things up with touches of DnB in the drums, distant echoes in the forefront and the occasional sub wobble holding things together.

On point, until it hurts. With a decade-spanning discography, several bands and half of SHXCXCHCXSH this restless creator presents himself. SSTROM embodies the calmly bold. Building a version of the modern disco that nobody asked for. SSTROM is the capsule that shocks and comforts, gathers and spark a new thought. The robust shell acts as a camouflage for the wild and wicked bleakness of the music he produces. If the contemporary club urge could be described as a helmet waiting to brake this experience is what you are after; surprising, uplifting and changing. With 'Avvik' SSTROM carves out 6 somatically clear scenes articulating diverse textures, densities and states of aggregation. The constructions evolves as fractious rhythms strives for another order. Trial and errors bungys droughty, moist, stiff and tensile. Sstrom forces us to flicker in twitches between layers and dimensions beyond the given three.

10 years ago in 2015, The Golden Lion in Todmorden opened its doors under the guidance of Gig & Waka, Cloudwater brewed their first ever beers, the dance floors of Manchester got introduced to the world of Supernature Disco and from his spare room at home in Bolton Chris Massey started Sprechen.

Returning to E-Beamz Records, Tommy The Cat has comprised a 6 track EP chock full of varied astute takes on Jungle & breakbeat.

Working with the likes of Cat In The Bag, Unknown To The Unknown & Myor Massiv, Tommy is cementing his name & sound into the Jungle realms as one of the most prolific and, hard working junglists in the scene.

It began with a cassette tape entitled 'Pleased To Meet You' gifted to us at Sessa's Fasching, Stockholm show by Yann Dardenne, the multi-tasking tour manager/sound engineer/producer/merch stall worker and co-owner of Seloki Records. On first listen, the selection of underground Brazilian artists from the Seloki's roster was superb, however, one song stopped us in our tracks. The hauntingly captivating ' GOSTO MEIO DOCE' by Nina Maia and Francisca Barreto, gave us a taste of Nina's ethereal, addictive voice and we knew we needed to hear more. Born in Minas Gerais but now based in Sao Paulo, the 22-year-old has already packed a lot into a relatively short space of time. The singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer, has already collaborated on the soundtracks for six Brazilian feature films, including a track with the vocalists Maria Gadu, Iza, and Liniker. But things enter a new exciting era with this, her remarkable debut album entitled 'INTEIRA', which translates to English as 'whole'.

As much inspired by Billie Eilish and Rosalia, as Milton Nascimento and Toninho Horta and not sounding like other records coming out of Brazil, 'INTEIRA' is unique. Though rich in its Brazilian heritage, inspired by samba cancao, MPB, and the Clube da Esquina movement, it also channels influence from bands such as Portishead and Massive Attack, mixed with jazz, contemporary leftfield and electronic pop artists. Musically, it is not easily pigeonholed, with beautiful, well-crafted songs, sophisticated arrangements, eloquent vocals and intimate lyrics. Each track reflects different moments and stories from Nina's youth but with dialogues, feelings, and questions that span generations and resonate with all. This ambitious debut album is Nina's vision and sound, expressing herself without constraints and making music with her friends. Featuring a lineup of Thalin (drums), Valentim Frateschi (bass), Francisca Barreto (cello and vocals), Thales Hashiguti (viola and violin), Yann Dardenne (acoustic guitar and co-producer) and Nina on piano, Rhodes, guitar and production. The album led to a nomination in Paulista Association of Art Critics (APCA) award's 'Breakthrough Artist' category, who also listed 'INTEIRA' as one of the 50 best albums of 2024.

It also received support from Bandcamp Weekly and Jamz Supernova on BBC 6 Music. Released digitally by Seloki Records in Brazil in 2024, Mr Bongo in partnership with Seloki Records now present this new, deluxe worldwide edition that includes four additional songs. These comprise the brand-new exquisite 'MANHA', as well as an original twist on Vinicius de Moraes' classic 'Serenata Do Adeus'. Elsewhere you'll find a live recording showcasing Nina's remarkable energy on stage courtesy of 'DE DENTRO' and 'GOSTO MEIO DOCE' with the amazing musician/vocalist Francisca Barreto, where our whole story began. Toronto/Berlin producer and Big Trouble Records founder Andre Zimmer has emerged as one of house and techno’s hottest commodities, fresh off his scorching fabric Records release with Carlita. Now he joins DJ Tennis’s Life and Death label with the announcement of his 4-track Kwon Anthem EP, out September 19.

Arriving alongside the announcement is the lead single “Hypnotizing” — a piano-driven, ethereal cut that highlights Zimmer’s ability to channel rave nostalgia into shimmering, emotive house designed for peak dance floor moments.

The EP also features the standout track “That’s Right”, which has already been making waves across clubs worldwide. With early support from Peggy Gou, Jennifer Loveless, Massimilliano Pagliara, Alinka, Jorkes, Luigi Di Venere, and more — including rotations at Panorama Bar and viral fan videos from Bella and beyond — it’s quickly becoming one of Zimmer’s most in-demand productions.

The second release in the series on s-b-productions, Steve Bicknell's, Lost recordings # 4, 'In Order To Remember One Needs To Know', recorded in 1998 for the Lost dance-floor, the legendary event series in London, which ran from 1991 to 2014. Now available with reimagined label art and remastered by Peter Van Hoesen at Memento Mastering.

The Netherlands Dennis Quin makes a welcome return to Kaoz Theory this September with ‘New York To Amsterdam’, featuring one collaboration with the legendary Mr. V and accompanied by remixes from Rotterdam’s underground royalty, Benny Rodrigues. Dutch house maestro Dennis Quin returns to Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory imprint with a brand-new EP, reaffirming his position as one of Europe’s most consistent purveyors of groove-led, rhythm-driven house music. With a career spanning acclaimed releases on PIV, Beeyou, Dungeon Meat and on his own label Eardrums, Quin’s work seamlessly bridges deep house heritage with contemporary dancefloor energy.

Opening the EP, ‘New York Accent’ sets the tone with a classic New York house vibe—raw drums, choppy chords, and snippets of street-level vocal samples. ‘Hard Days Work’ dives deeper into house territory with shimmering piano keys, dreamy chord progressions, and crisp percussion layered with twitchy synths, sax flourishes, and soulful vocal hooks. Rounding off the release, Benny Rodrigues reworks ‘New York Accent’, retaining its essence while injecting his signature rhythmic grit and intricate dynamism.

"I'm Ready" is the EP launched Kano in 1980. Produced by the Italian trio of Stefano Pulga, Luciano Ninza/,
and Ma0eo Bonsanto, it's considered one of the fundamental tracks that defined the Italo Disco genre and
brought it to interna4onal a0en4on.
In the early '80s, the track was incredibly innova4ve. It combined a massive use of synthesizers (like the
Korg MS-20), percussive rhythms, and a vocoder, crea4ng a mechanical, "robo4c" atmosphere that became
a hallmark of the genre.
The sound of "I'm Ready" was hugely influen4al. Ar4sts like Eurythmics and New Order have acknowledged
the impact of this track, and echoes of its style can be heard in many subsequent produc4ons, especially in
electronic music. Its groove and clean produc4on were a benchmark for the era. In short, "I'm Ready" is not
just a song, but a milestone that helped define the sound of an en4re musical era.
