Originally released on tape in 1982, »Maraccaba« is the second solo album from electronic wizard Klaus Wiese. Member of the krautrock band Popol Vuh in the early 1970s – Voice, Zither, Tambura, Harmonium, Singing Bowls – Klaus Wiese (1942 – 2009) was a veteran musician, minimalist, and multi-instrumentalist. A master of the Tibetan singing bowl, he created an extensive series of albums using them, alongside zither, Persian stringed instruments, and chimes. Wiese is considered by some as one of the great ambient or space music artists alongside Robert Rich, Steve Roach, Michael Stearns, Constance Demby, and Jonn Serrie. His musical style is much more appropriately compared to the organic soundscapes of drone and dark ambient music, such as Oöphoi, Alio Die, Mathias Grassow, and Tau Ceti.

In the 1990s he founded the Nono Orchestra to play the giant sheetmetal instruments of Robert Rutman. Wiese is known also for his collaborations with Al Gromer Khan, Mathias Grassow, Oöphoi, Tau Ceti, Saam Schlamminger, and Ted de Jong. He collaborated with Deuter on his Silence is the Answer album in 1980 and East of the Full Moon in 2005

Svitlana Okhrimenko (artist name: Svitlana Nianio) is a Ukrainian artist, musician, and signer. She is one of the most prominent representatives of the independent music scene of Kyiv in the late 1980s — early 90s. She has repeatedly recorded and performed in collaboration with other musicians and bands, such as Oleksandr Yurchenko, Sugar White Death (Cukor Bila Smert’), Ivanov Down, GeeNerve & Taran, and Blemish. Svitlana still performs and publishes new recordings today.

“Transilvania Smile” is one of the first solo works recorded in 1994. During this time, Svitlana repeatedly visited Germany, where she had the experience of playing in parks and on the streets, gathering contacts of the local art scene. Her cooperation with the international choreographic group Pentamonia, based in Cologne and consisting of several girls who performed in theaters, took part in various performances, and were engaged in music. They met in the 1990s during joint performances with "Sugar-White Death." After that, they corresponded, and the idea of doing something together arose. Svitlana attended several of their performances, which inspired her to write music for a new project, and the band members helped to realize their creative ideas. Later, they started rehearsing together.

The name “Transilvania Smile” was invented by the project participants, and it symbolized the mold on the mirror and the reflection of a smiling vampire. However, shortly before the premiere, they changed it to “Firefox”, as the participants actively used flashlights and the play of light and shadows in the scenography.

The premiere occurred in the local Urania theater, previously a gallery. Isabel Bartensein directed the choreography, and Svitlana played, sang, and improvised. She said it was an excellent experience for her and the band. Besides Cologne, they also performed in Aachen.

Later, Michael Springer offered Svitlana to record this material in his "Phantom" studio. They had already worked together and recorded music for their project (Svitlana Okhrimenko / Phanton). Michael was also interested in the Ukrainian independent scene and participated in the creation of several compilations that featured bands from Kyiv and Kharkiv. Svetlana played the piano and harmonium in the studio and also sang. After the recording, the material was never released in its entirety. Two compositions appeared on the cassette compilation “Shovaisia” (Hide) in 1995, some episodes were re-recorded for the “Kytytsi” album in 1999, but for a long time, the full version of this recording remained practically unknown to listeners and was kept in Svitlana's and Michael’s archives.

This album is one of the most personal and insightful works of Svitlana Nianio from the 90s, which you can now get to know in its original form and sound.

Pianist and composer Harold López-Nussa has been steadily building a global following in jazz and beyond over the past two decades since winning the prestigious Montreux Jazz Piano Competition in 2005. Tullio De Piscopo is an Italian drummer, percussionist and singer- songwriter born in Naples, Italy. During his musical career he began working as a session drummer, playing with international artists, including Chet Baker, Gil Evans, Gato Barbieri, Eumir Deodato and many others.

His 6th solo album Acqua E Viento, released in 1983, includes the Italian #1 single “Stop Bajon (Primavera)” which also ranked to #58 in the UK Singles Chart of that same year. “Stop Bajon (Primavera)” was a favourite in Rimini (Italy) Discotheques, a Balearic Islands classic, a Chicago favourite during the early house days, and became an anthem of the Italo Disco movement. The album includes guest musicians Don Cherry on trumpet, percussionst Famoudou Don Moye and composer and songwriter Pino Daniele.

That claim still holds true. A brilliant fusion of pop, R&B, smooth jazz, and soul, Whitney is a showstopper – and one of the key reasons Houston is the most-awarded female artist of all time.

Für einen Songwriter seiner poetischen Kraft und Kenntnis ist auch das kein Sujet das er mit oberflächlichen Beschreibungen abhandelt und auf Allgemeinplätzen parkt. Seine Musik ist voll Achtsamkeit: Joyner beobachtet die Gewalt, die Schönheit und die Absurdität des Alltags aus nächster Nähe und findet eine angemessene, vielsagende Form. Ein Kritiker bringt einen Vergleich zu Neil Young und meinte "Wenn (sein 2012 Album) 'Ghosts' sein 'Tonight's the Night' war - zornig, nackt und bodenlos - dann könnte sich 'Songs From A Stolen Guitar' als sein Harvest erweisen." Songs From A Stolen Guitar wurde in verschiedenen Städten aufgenommen. Joyner nahm seinen Gesang und seine Gitarre live in Omaha auf; Bassist Wil Hendrix fügte seine Parts zu Hause in San Francisco hinzu, Michael Krassner nahm seine Gitarren- und Klavier-Overdubs zu Hause in Phoenix auf, und Schlagzeuger/Percussionist Ryan Jewell nahm in Colorado auf. Doch wenn es um Simon Joyner-Platten geht, zahlt man sein Ticket, um großartige Songs zu hören, und auch in dieser Kategorie enttäuscht Songs From A Stolen Guitar nicht. Eins der seltenen Alben, das nach dem klingt, worum es geht: die Kluft zwischen Einsamkeit und Alleinsein, die Grenzen zwischen Liebe und Hingabe, der Unterschied zwischen dem Tornado und dem, was er hinterlässt.

There are few people across the globe, who will have not been touched by the work of Frankie Knuckles. Forever regarded as ‘The Godfather of House’ for his unrivalled contribution to the house music we know today; what started as an underground movement in Chicago has grown to international heights thanks to Frankie. His records earned him recognition on a global scale, allowing him to work with some of the globes biggest names including the likes of Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.

Five years ago, Frankie passed away in Chicago on 31st March 2014 leaving behind one of the greatest house music legacies spanning almost four decades. Now he is commemorated by long time writing and production partner Eric Kupper. Eric, himself a seasoned DJ producer and writer, has worked on over 116 Billboard #1 Dance Records and played a pivotal role in a many of Frankie’s productions. Having both worked together for many years they established themselves at ‘Director’s Cut’ from 2011 and set about producing original releases and remixes based on the classic ‘Def Mix’ sound while sharing equal credits for their creations.

Together they re-produced and re-purpose classic cuts for modern dancefloors, with reworks including tracks from Marshall Jefferson, Ashford & Simpson, Artful & Ridney and The Sunburst Band, alongside Frankie Knuckles originals. These releases have now been brought together by Eric to feature on special album called ‘The Directors Cut Collection’ on SoSure Music. It includes the Director’s Cut reworks of Frankie’s classic cuts such as ‘Your Love’ and ‘Take You There’ with Jamie Principle, alongside Frankie’s first #1 single - ‘The Whistle Song’ on which Eric shares writing credits.

Within a multitude of classic reworks, highlights include a previously unreleased version of Ashford & Simpson’s ‘Bourgie Bourgie’ and a huge Director’s Cut Retro Signature mix of Marshall Jefferson’s 'The House Music Anthem (Move Your Body)' featuring Curtis McClain.

One session turned into two, then quickly turned into three, resulting in a twice-weekly recording ritual that spanned three years. This ritual would give birth not only to this album, but three (Acid Tab Vocab & Parallel Uni-Verses w/ Del Tha Funky Homosapien) instilling a lifelong creative partnership. But let's focus on "Ol Jersey Bastard," Tame One's homage to the almighty and original OL Dirty Bastard. It was not the cleanest record to listen to, but it was true to Tame One's style and vision. He was not constrained by working with a group or having to answer to a label. As a side note, Amalgam Digital, the joke of a label who originally released this album wouldn't let us follow through with our original artwork concept. So the new cover and layout created by close friend Michael Interrante is Tame’s original concept. We also were able to include original scans of unseen artwork, tags & lyrics from Tames archive. This was unfiltered raw hip-hop, showcasing Tame One's unparalleled ability on the mic. Sometimes that called for no hook or maybe a 54 bar verse, traditional song structures were out the window. That being said, coming back to this album all these years later as producers, we wanted to elevate the album's listening experience. We cleaned up the mixes, so you might notice Tame sounds a little clearer, or those beats might knock a bit louder. Founded in 1971, Matumbi was among the earliest and best British reggae bands. They did, however, also record under different guises, including 4th Street Orchestra. In their acclaimed Rough Guide to Reggae, Steve Barrow and Peter Dalton rate this album (and its counterpart Ah Who She? Go Deh!) as 'the best showcases for Matumbi's talents'. This release marks the first LP reissue of this genuine UK roots monument since 1976.

Original member Dennis “Blackbeard” Bovell (of LKJ and Dub Band fame) knew the local sound system scene like the back of his hand, and most tracks on Leggo! Ah-Fi-We-Dis were initially cut as exclusive 'specials' for his own Jah Sufferer sound system and for fellow soundmen. Hardly anyone hearing these tunes at reggae parties would have guessed they didn't originate in Kingston but were recorded in London. And neither did many who bought the records when they were released a few years later. That's hardly surprising, as the material Bovell & Co churned out could easily compete with the toughest output of their Jamaican counterparts. The solid interpretation of Junior Delgado's "Tichion" and a scorching, melodica-led version of Ras Michael's "None-Ah-Jah-Children" are the most familiar tunes here. And a militant update of Max Steiner's "Theme From A Summer Place" displays good fun as well as guts. But the band's outstanding originals will give many '70s Jamaican classics a good run for their money.

Shiftyman is a slider. He slides through his world like butter. People know him in his town. But only as a slider. What hardly anyone knows is that he also likes to listen to music. A few of his favorite songs can be found on this record. When you play this, it’s like Shiftyman’s day.

The four slider friends Andreas, Lutger, Michael and Raphael have painstakingly put together the songs over the past few years. They slid through Shiftyman’s world and felt good.

Radio Slave teams up with Michael Love Michael and returns to his roots with ‘Can’t Get You’ this July.

Radio Slave revisits Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, the track that originally launched his production career in 2001, with US-based writer, editor, and musician Michael Love Michael on vocals.
“When I got the call that Pete Tong was going to play my re-edit of ‘Can’t Get You Of My Head’, I had to quickly invent a name for the project, literally on the spot just a few hours before Pete went live on BBC Radio One. On that night, the Radio Slave name was born.

It was never officially released, but I did get a copy of the stems and was invited to sit in the studio with the writer Rob Davis for the making of the infamous ‘Blue Monday’ mashup, which Kylie would go onto perform at the Brit Awards in 2002. It was an exciting time in my career, and this song would be the beginning of a project that’s now over 20 years old” - Radio Slave

The refreshed packaged comes with a variety of club-ready mixes, paying homage to the origins of Matt Edwards’ longest running project while looking firmly into the future. Michael Love Michael’s enthralling vocal performance takes centre stage across the mixes, while variations in Radio Slave’s impeccable production inject undeniable groove and propulsive energy throughout.

Die Gruppe rekrutierte den in Berlin lebenden englischen Gitarristen Lubin und verbrachte eine Woche lang mit intensiven Songwriting im Keller einer alten Brauerei. Indem sie ihre unterschiedlichen musikalischen Interessen teilten und häufig die Instrumente wechselten, entstand schnell eine Reihe von Songs, die eine kollektive Liebe zur psychedelischen Musik der 60er und 70er Jahre, zu Krautrock, Jazz oder zu 20-minütigen Motorik-Beats zum Ausdruck brachten. Die Band machte sich auf ins Big Snuff Studio und innerhalb weniger Tage war 'Assemblage' geboren. Das Album ist Ausdruck völliger kreativer Freiheit von vier Künstlern, die Musik außerhalb der Projekte erforschen, für die sie bekannt sind. Der Beginn einer Zusammenarbeit mit Zukunft, denn die ersten Live-Termine von Weite sind bereits für dieses Jahr geplant.

At the time, Pepper was under contract to Contemporary Records and label head, Les Koenig, decided he would record the gigs, quashing any notion Snyder had of doing the same. However, Art promised Snyder that he’d record an album for Snyder’s label, Artists House, at some point down the road. Together they wound up making four. Here again on vinyl, CD & Digital are the original albums drawn from these sessions, lovingly recreated in their original form, remastered by Grammy® winner Michael Graves and recut by Jeff Powell. So In Love (originally issued in 1980) features Pepper’s takes on classics from Thelonious Monk, Cole Porter, and Hoagy Carmichael, plus a pair of originals including “Blues For Blanche.” The CD and Digital add three bonus performances from the sessions. Debütalbum der Stuttgarter Hard Rock/Metal Band Front Row Warriors. 2019 von Jay-G, (Drums/ Shining, Sharon), Elkie Gee (Gesang / Ampyre, Antares) und Sorin Badin, einem bekannten rumänischen Gitarristen (Cardinal, Samsara, Crystal Maze) gegründet. Lost private press gem "The Swimmer" by Florida native Danny Morgan, is a cool and breezy, beguiling easy glide from 1987. It should've been huge. It still could be. It's a mellow marina masterpiece and quintessentially Balearic. Over the past few years, it's gathered a cult following yet the album from which it derives is virtually impossible to come by.

Finally available on a standalone, fully remastered 12", it's been backed by an instant classic "Seahawks Swimming Through Space Remix", courtesy of those beloved cats Jon Tye and Pete Fowler.

These won't be around for long, limited to just 500 copies for the world, so don't drown in procrastination.

Fans of the deeply entrancing, nautically and narcotically-enhanced cuts of Dennis Wilson or Michael Nesmith’s The Prison will be instantly mesmerised by the sheer beauty of "The Swimmer". After tracking Danny down, we wanted to know more. How does something so magical come about? The man himself answered thusly:

"At the time I was running many miles on the Sanibel Island beach and doing a bit of swimming in the Gulf Of Mexico. Keeping my mind busy on a long run, I imagined a “what if” movie scene. Almost every run or swim someone is sitting there on the beach watching what goes by. Back at my desk I started finger picking some chords and the picture in my head showed up. I punched in a rhythm loop and the song was on its way.

Adrian Belew and I had the same manager Stan Hertzman so I was listening to some of Adrian’s work. I was a huge fan of Joni Mitchel and the unusual chord changes and melodies in some of her songs. All of this influenced the sound on “The Swimmer”

I had a support band at the time living in my house on Sanibel Island so we practiced a lot. We came up with an arrangement of the song and we took across the bridge to John McLane’s Important Studios and recorded it. I played finger picking acoustic guitar and sang, Tim Miller played drums, Jeff Holck played fretless bass, Dave Dust played lead guitar and John McLane played keyboards and sang harmony."

Our deep thanks must go out to Jon Tye (MLO / Seahawks / Ocean Moon) for first hipping Be With to this stunner. We returned the favour by giving him the keys to the stems and requesting a strung out remix to go on the flip - he returned having conspired with Pete Fowler to conjure a cosmically copacetic rerub with the subtropical chug of the "Seahawks Swimming Through Space Remix".

Putting together the artwork for this 12" release was an enjoyable process. It was nice to be able to flip the original sleeve for the Beach Life album by using previously unseen photos, sent to us by Danny. We wanted to create something that looks like it would've gone with the LP sleeve. We think we've cracked it. Simon Francis remastered Danny's original audio and Cicely Balston's precise cut for Alchemy at AIR Studios ensures this 12" sounds appropriately outstanding. The immaculate Record Industry pressing will ensure this previously lost masterpiece stays forever found.
