It's that time of year when the whole scene reaches its peak, with everyone dreaming of being in Ibiza-or at the very least, somewhere on a forgotten beach or island in the Mediterranean.
For that very moment, Desert Island Disco make their MM Discos debut with a record tailor-made for the summer of 2026. Splitting their time between London and Lisbon, the collective have already shown a deep affinity for African-rooted midtempo sounds through releases on Shades of Sound and Mister T Records, alongside a steady stream of sought-after self-released edits on their Bandcamp.
This time, Desert Island Disco dive headfirst into South Africa, drawing deeply from the worlds of Kwaito and Bubblegum to deliver a record steeped in the warmth, groove and unmistakable spirit of both genres.

Released in 1989, Marisa Monte's first album was a critical and public success. Produced by Nelson Motta and recorded live, the 11 tracks featured a singer with a sweet and powerful voice, interpreting a repertoire of varied styles and eras, who conquered the country. When South Korean balearic prodigy Mogwaa came to MM Discos with an idea for his rst full-length album, we were a bit surprised.
He said, ‘I want to do an album of bossa tracks with synths, a drum machine and my guitar’. We obviously had to take him up
on that deal.

Fresh from the recent Bandcamp feature on his own brand of danceoor-ready modern boogie, Seungyoung Lee (aka Mogwaa)
arrives back on MM Discos with his - and our - rst full length exercise. With six tracks per side of 80s inuenced synth and bossa
badness, ‘Hazy Dreams’ is an exercise in simplicity, and more proof of the ever-expanding musical horizons of one of the scene’s
most virtuosic instrumentalists.

Pairing a sensitivity to the construction of ambient, funk, bossa and cassette-tape 80s experiments with his own cinematic subtlety,
‘Hazy Dreams’ takes a gentle, minimalistic approach, crafting its own escapist world that oers a welcome diversion from the
steady ow of busy balearica and downtempo.

Opening track ‘Full Bloom’ paints a picture of midsummer at dawn, some clear-skied island where lush vegetation climbs through
hibiscus gardens. ‘Nacimiento’ is an AOR/bossa crossover evoking West Coast yachting in full afternoon, and A3, ‘Soothing’, adds
a touch of wistfulness with reverb-doused guitars over meandering bass motifs.
The easy kick-and-snare combo of ‘Levitation’ sets the scene for a drum machine love aair, unrequited love on the rocks, and
‘Flashback’ plays with short delay trails and o-kilter melodic sequences, where you feel the soft presence of the nebula approaching
at the break of day. Closing out the A-side, ‘Dispatching’ reaches out even further into the imagined cosmos of Mogwaa’s
picture-perfect world, portraying an ambience at dusk, observing, calmy, as pued-up pink clouds melt into the evening canvas.
On the other side, Mogwaa explores quiet corners with ‘Illusions’, a slow meditation on the nature of simple presence, and ‘Echoes
of You’, a stream of subdued brush strokes that crescendo into higher frequencies on gently undulating pads. B3, ‘Moondance’,
ups the tempo and recalls classic Mogwaa with its sideways shue and starry melodic refrain, pivoting through folk-dance
moods and surprising chord changes.
Nearing the end of the album, ‘Footprints’ wades through tall grass in search of altered states, innite and hypnotic, changing
course only to crouch down and study the landscape, and B5, ‘It always comes and goes’, pictures the to-and-fro of jetstreams and
comets in the blinding midday sky. Finally we have the closing credits of ‘Swingin’ that looks o into the horizon, jaunty and exalted,
a guitar-led tribute to an easy-going world, and ultimately mindful of the power of dreams.

Detroit house and techno fans with their ear to the ground are well tuned to the sounds of Brian Kage. He's shown his skills on the likes of Omar S' FXHE, Carl Craig's Planet-E and Rob Modell's Echospace. Now it is his own label Michigander where he appears with a new EP that kicks off with Taho and Kage combining forces once more. There is acid to start with next to uplifting piano notes underwritten by deep chords on the opener, 'Warehouse Vibes' then brings driving kicks and dubby techno bliss. Things step up again on 'JAX' which is a full-body workout with first pumping rhythms. This is another EP that adds to the rich heritage of Motor City musical magic.

The summer starts beating to our doors and now that the nightmare of the pandemic (looks like) is coming to an end, mysterious dj and producer Hal Incandenza has taken over the control of MM Discos in order to get the things warmer and rock the dance-floors and festivals around the world.

Besides his amazing skills as producer, Henry Saiz the man behind the project of Hal Incandenza, has also made his path in music as songwriter, musician, graphic designer and dj.

This time introduces us to "Incivitas", a killer track that oscillates between House and Nu-Disco ready to dinamite the peak time of the most selected clubs. Hypnotic, selvatic and very wild.

Things turn even wilder with "Ceremony", highly influenced by the legacy of Daft Punk while Marvin & Guy closes the EP with an epic italo-dance version of "Invicitas", if you wonder why the duo from Parma are one of the fitter guys when it comes to burn down the house, just have a listen.

The underground music scene in Asia has experimented a notorious rise in the last years, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand or South Korea are more inside the radar than ever, contributing actively with amazing djs and super talented producers; creating an effervescence subculture where to keep an eye on.
Multifaceted producer Mogwaa is not an stranger anymore, awarded in 2021 with best electronic album of the year in South Korea, his versatility and skills have found a place in labels as "Klasse Records", "Spring Theory" or Sound Metaphors' "Bless You" among others.

Straight from the Mediterranean Sea, the Greek Duo Bonnie and Klein have landed at MM Discos to present “ROOF GARDEN”, an EP where the balearic beats and downtempo takes over the control and where the “2 Balearica devotes” invite us to enjoy an amazing trip from the Ionian coast thru the Aegean beaches until Myrtle Sea.
Bonnie & Klein are no longer unknown after being working the last 4 years for well renown labels as “Leng”, “Music for Dreams” and “Is It Balearic?” among others. Following their previous releases, B&K stay loyal to their own personal vision of “Chillout”.

Highly influenced by the architecture and culture from Greece, George & Thanasis build beat after beat an amazing work where their “Laid Back Style” will be the main character on this story, a long with haunting keys, wicked percussions, and sounds and melodies that will remind to “Far East”.

Following on from the impressive opening statement from Modern Manners, the second installment from the hitherto unknown outfit sees the sonic remit reaching out to other influences while retaining that poised lounge attitude that made the first record so instantly endearing. "Research" is a dub track in essence, sporting ample space in the mix, the odd conga roll and sparse chords calling out into a field of reverb and delay. "Can Maneras" is a more shuffling kind of smooth jazz that aligns with the classy licks of St Germain and the like. "Serate Cosmiche" finishes the EP off on a melancholic tip that puts the synths at the front of the mix for the first time.

Brian Kage returns on Michigander with the, 'Best Kept Secret EP.' Kage once again provides three deeply emotional dance tracks filled with his signature warmth that immediately draw connections between personal memories and Michigan's natural splendor. Best Kept Secret starts the record off with tones of hypnotic bells that cascade down from within minor chords that hypnotize the listener until they are met with swelling strings to tie the infectious grooves to intelligent vintage percussion. Lush vocals continue building into an atmosphere of nostalgia and eventually gives way to that moment of intimacy that can only be felt outdoors while exploring with a person they love. Lost on Old Free-soil Road features a detuned analog synth-line that winds up and down over a bed of spooky night-time forest field-recordings which are encompassed by a jackin' 909 beat . Suddenly, juno stabs straight from the 80's pierce through sending the syncopated grooves back the direction they came from taking dancers along for the joyful ride. Cruise Control on US-31 rounds out the record with an infectious blend of pitched wooden toms, warm mid-range bass, deep 303 lines, and a smoky pad straight from a vintage rhodes. All these elements help keep the composition positive & relaxing, while expertly conjuring the feeling of sun on your face. This tune is the perfect tool for any DJ interested in luring day-partiers to a space where they can't resist bobbing their heads and enjoying their summer outside.

Side A opens with Play With My... by N.W.N., a deep underground gem originally released on Bagira Ice Limited in 2018. After discovering the track last year, Homero Espinosa knew it deserved a vinyl release and reached out to N.W.N. to make it happen. Alongside the original, Homero delivers an exclusive remix that builds on the groove, adding his signature jazz-infused touch while staying true to the spirit of the record.

On Side B, Moulton digs into the vaults with two dancefloor favorites. Never Alone featuring Tobirus Mozelle gets the Nathan G treatment, delivering deep house at its finest with warm chords, soulful vocals, and timeless groove. Closing the sampler is Legbleep by Allen Craig, a deep, moody, techno-infused roller that perfectly rounds out the sampler.

Eine historische Begegnung zwischen zwei der größten und legendärsten Bands des ehemaligen Jugoslawiens: LAIBACH - international anerkannt für ihre kompromisslose Auseinandersetzung mit Ideologie, Ästhetik und Macht - präsentieren "Die Kanone". Dabei handelt es sich um eine Neuinterpretation von "Top", der ersten, 1974 veröffentlichten Single von BIJELO DUGME, den Pionieren der jugoslawischen Rockkultur, gegründet von Goran Bregovic. Gemeinsam verwandeln sie einen historischen Song in ein neues Statement über die Zyklen der Geschichte und die Mechanismen, die die Gegenwart prägen - ein Werk, das tief in der Kulturlandschaft des ehemaligen Jugoslawiens verwurzelt ist, aber ebenso deutlich darüber hinausweist. Die Version von Laibach, unter Mitwirkung von Bijelo Dugme und insbesondere Goran Bregovic an der Gitarre, erschien 2025 digital, sowohl in deutscher als auch in slowenischer Sprache. Nun zusätzlich von DIE KRUPPS, THE LINCOLNSHIRE POACHER, BLACK DOT und dem RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra neu gemischt und interpretiert, um die allererste physische Veröffentlichung auf 12"-Vinyl und CD zu vervollständigen. Mehr als fünfzig Jahre nachdem das Debüt von Bijelo Dugme ein neues Kapitel in der Geschichte des Balkan-Rock aufschlug, greifen Laibach dieses ikonische Material auf und interpretieren es in ihrer eigenen, monumentalen Klangsprache neu. Das Ergebnis ist ein Dialog zwischen zwei Epochen, zwei künstlerischen Visionen und zwei Herangehensweisen an die Symbole, durch die sich Gesellschaften selbst definieren. "Die Kanone" ist nicht bloß eine Neuinterpretation eines historischen Songs - es ist ein zeitgenössischer Kommentar zum sich wandelnden Verhältnis zwischen Industrie, Technologie und Militarisierung. Der Titel evoziert den Wandel der industriellen Produktion und die beunruhigende Neuausrichtung etablierter Fertigungstraditionen hin zur Herstellung von Waffen und Kriegssystemen. Durch das Aufeinandertreffen der ursprünglichen Rock-Mythologie von Bijelo Dugme und dem Industrial-Ritualismus von Laibach untersucht der Song, wie wirtschaftliche Macht, technologischer Fortschritt und militärische Ambitionen miteinander verflochten sind. Das Stück reflektiert eine Welt, in der die Sprache der Produktion zunehmend mit der Sprache des Konflikts verschmilzt. "Die Kanone" und die slowenische Version "S topom te bom ciljal moja mala" erscheinen erstmals physisch, mit Remixen der deutschen Industrial/EBM-Legenden DIE KRUPPS (die eine episch-wuchtige Version beisteuern, welche ein Hit in ganz eigener Sache ist), des britischen Produzenten The Lincolnshire Poacher sowie des slowenisch-kroatischen Elektronik-Duos Black Dot. Der sechste Titel der 12"-Vinylversion ist eine Live-Aufnahme aus der Oper von Ljubljana, eingespielt mit dem RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. Erhältlich ist klassisch schwarzes oder limitiertes farbiges Vinyl sowie CD mit zwei Bonustracks (iTurks Symphonic Mix der slowenischen Version und eine Instrumental-/Karaoke-Version).
