To kick off Ace Records 50th Anniversary we are delighted to offer up a 2-LP version of one of the most seminal and important heavy metal albums of all time.

Funded by and released on Chiswick Records in 1977, Motörhead’s debut album was a sonic blister of epic proportions capturing the musical lighting generated by Lemmy (bass/vocals), Phil Taylor (guitar) and Eddie Clarke (drums).

This 2-LP set not only offers up this classic first album featuring tracks like ‘White Line Fever’, ‘Violator’ and ‘Keep Us On The Road’ but also collates together, on sides three and four, ‘City Kids’ the “Beer Drinkers EP” as well as different mixed and alternative versions of ear-bleeding classics like ‘Motörhead’, ‘The Watcher’ and ‘Keep Us On The Road’.

The album cover features a silver hot foil replication Joe Petagno’s original Motorhead logo in all its glory. Sleeve notes are by Ted Carroll who takes the reader through the story of how Chiswick Records managed to scrape together the money to fund the recording and write themselves and Motörhead into rock and roll history.

It’s one hell of a way to kick off Ace’s 50th Anniversary re-issue schedule.

Als Motörhead im März 1979 einen Klassiker in der Größenordnung von Overkill herausbrachten, hätte man
ihnen verziehen, wenn sie kurz darauf eine Verschnaufpause eingelegt hätten, aber nicht alle Rockbands
hatten ihre DNA. Irgendwie schafften sie es in all dem Wahnsinn, noch im selben Jahr den legendären
Bomber herauszubringen. Die Platte erreichte Platz 12 der britischen Charts und enthielt einige der beliebtesten Songs von Motörhead, wie „Bomber“, „Dead Men Tell No Tales“ und „Stone Dead Forever“.

Es ist keine leichte Aufgabe, an das erste Album anzuknüpfen, aber nicht alle Bands waren wie Motörhead.
Wenn sie nicht gerade die Massen mit ihrem kompromisslosen, kopfzermürbenden Hardrock-Markenzeichen
vernichteten, machten sie sich an die Arbeit am Nachfolger ihres gleichnamigen Debüts. Das Ergebnis? Eine
ohrenbetäubende, Schädel spaltende Platte mit Hits wie Overkill und No Class und einem unauslöschlichen

Obwohl es eigentlich keiner weiteren Vorstellung bedarf, war Ace of Spades ein wahrhaft legendäres, bahnbrechendes Stück Hardrock-Perfektion. Es begeisterte Generationen von Musikfans mit seinen zerstörenden
Riffs, ohrenbetäubender Lautstärke und unbezwingbarer Geschwindigkeit und Stil. Es war eine Platte, die
Grenzen überschritt und die Musiklandschaft für immer veränderte. Auf 11 hochgedreht war nichts härter,
nichts war schneller und ganz sicher nichts war lauter.

"Inferno" ist das 17. Album von Motörhead und wurde
ursprünglich am 22. Juni 2004 veröffentlicht. Es war das
erste von vielen Alben der Band, das von Cameron Webb
produziert wurde. "Inferno" wurde das härteste Album von
Motörhead seit Jahren, obwohl der letzte Song des
Albums "Whorehouse Blues" mit seinem
Country-Blues-Stil und Lemmy an der Mundharmonika so
etwas wie eine Ausnahme darstellte. Das Album wurde
als ihr bestes seit einem Jahrzehnt gepriesen. Das Album

Sie waren die erste UK-Punkband die einen Plattenvertrag unterschrieben und markierten mit ihrer auf Stiff Records erschienenen Debüt-Single 'New Rose' gleich den ersten Höhepunkt einer Bewegung nach der nichts mehr so sein sollte wie vorher. Schnell, hart, angriffslustig und simpel, auch schon mal in opulentem Verkleidungs-Outfit, nahm sich die Band nie ganz ernst, sondern verstand sich eher als akustischer Comic-Strip mit Humor, Respektlosigkeit, Parodie und Slapsticks ohne die oftmals in dieser Zeit propagierten politische Ideen. Auf Chiswick gestaltete die Band quasi den zweiten Schritt ihrer Karriere und veröffentlichten Alben wie das famose 'Machine Gun Etiquette', das nun in einer limitierten Auflage als MC erscheint!

Das 18. Studioalbum Kiss Of Death von Motörhead knüpfte an den schweren, brachialen Sound des von Cameron Webb produzierten Vorgängers Inferno an.

Ursprünglich am 29. August 2006 veröffentlicht, erreichte es in Deutschland Platz 4 der Charts, die bisher höchste Position der Band. Auf dem Album waren als Gäste Mike Inez von Alice In Chains und C.C. Deville von Poison zu hören. BMG wiederveröffentlicht das Album als silberne Vinyl und Digipak.

Motörizer, das 19. Studioalbum von Motörhead, wurde ursprünglich am 26. August 2008 veröffentlicht und war das dritte Album der Band, das von Cameron Webb produziert wurde. Motörizer war das erste Album der Band, das in den USA auf Platz 82 der Charts einstieg;
auch in Deutschland erreichte es Platz 5. Die Leadsingle "Rock Out" wurde als offizieller Titelsong für WWE Unforgiven verwendet. BMG bringt das Album auf transparentem, blauem Vinyl und als Digipak wieder heraus.

Cassette tapes. Remember those? Those things with the dual spools and loads of wide brown plastic recording string that’d occasionally unravel and hang out of the shell, requiring a pencil and firm wrist to spin back into place? Yeah, well, once upon a time, old-school sound systems contained cassette decks for the express purpose of recording shows, and these “cassette” things were a standard part of every tour. Motörhead were certainly no exception, recording show after show. They contain gold, pure aural gold, and had for many years sat in storage. There were loads of them gathered, with the likes of Lyon, Liverpool, Hamburg and Chippenham (!!) scrawled in biro on the tiny labels alongside a date…and thus we are delighted to announce that this unique collection of live gems will now be heard by the world, via carefully digitized transfers, in this series titled The Löst Tapes. Volume four has been hand-picked by the increasingly deaf, but well-meaning Motörhead team, and sees the then quartet play a monstrous live set from the ‘No Remorse’ album tour, recorded at Sporthalle, Heilbronn, Germany on 29th December 1984. Sacrifice is Motörhead’s 12th studio album and was originally released on 27th March 1995. It is the second, and last album to feature the four man line-up of Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Würzel and Mikkey Dee. Lemmy, proud of the album is quoted as saying “This is a very good album. Put it in your system and your girlfriend’s clothes fall off.” The title track was still a live favourite up until the band came to an end. BMG are reissuing this album as orange vinyl and digipak.

Hammered is the 16th studio album by British rock band Motörhead, released on 9th April 2002. It was recorded in Hollywood and Motörhead was now a three-piece band, with Mikkey Dee on drums, Phil Campbell on guitar and Lemmy on vocals and bass.

Neuauflage der Vinyl-Edition von "Iron Fist". Motörheads fünftes Studioalbum wurde 1982 veröffentlicht und ist das letzte in ursprünglicher Besetzung, da der Gitarrist "Fast" Eddie Clarke nach der Fertigstellung von "Iron Fist" die Band verlässt. Dieser war mit dem Album nicht zufrieden obwohl - oder vielleicht gerade weil - er dieses erstmalig selber produzierte und der sonst sehr dreckige Sound der Band etwas steriler daher kommt. Dennoch stehen Songs wie "Iron Fist", "Heart of Stone" oder "Speedfreak" den Vorgängern in nichts nach. Ein ähnlich erfolgreiches Album gelang der Band erst wieder in den 90er Jahren.

Motörhead in 1981 was a band of extremes; a flammable mix of non-stop celebration over their rising success and punishing graft, underscored by an inter-band powder-keg dynamic. After recording Ace Of Spades, it had shot to number four in the UK; the killer breakthrough after Overkill and Bomber had done essential groundwork, late 1980’s Ace Up Your Sleeve UK tour was a triumphant lap of honour that spilled into the recording of No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith. The album took its title from an inscription painted on one of the trucks, referencing the 32 gigs they were playing with only two days off. The track listing ended up featuring three tracks from Ace Of Spades, five from Overkill, Bomber’s title track and two from their self-titled debut. Originally released on 27th June 1981, Lemmy is quoted as saying of it “I knew it’d be the live one that went best, because we’re really a live band. You can’t listen to a record and find out what we’re about. You’ve got to see us.” Upon release No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith went straight to number one, their first and only in the UK and is still the most necessary live album of all time.

Mit all dieser Power, die durch die Adern fließt, wird Death Hilarious mit Leichtigkeit eines der besten Rockalben des Jahres 2025 sein... und das ist kein Witz!

 Age Of Paranoia, the latest chapter in the band's lineage, was recorded by Igor Wouters at ARC Studios in Amsterdam, and includes several special guest guitar solos by J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr., Witch) and Bubba Dupree (Void, Soundgarden, Dave Grohl's Probot, Brant Bjork).  

Age Of Paranoia offers sixteen volatile tracks, packed into a succinct, white-knuckled twenty-eight minutes. The album surges with rapid-fire punk angst, replete with ripping rock leads and raised-fist, group-chanting anthems.

Back in 1990 the New Bomb Turks got together as four Ohio State University students who just wanted to rock. 10 years later they are already on their 7th studio album: Nightmare Scenario.

New Bomb Turks return to their snaggle-toothed first mistress — hard-driving, no-holds-barred American punk rock. With the guitar jive of Chuck Berry, the blinding ferocity of Motörhead and the snot of The Dead Boys, singer Eric Davidson and his backing trio fire off a dozen grenades of authentic old-school three-chord riff-rock in little over a half-hour, with nary a pause for breath between tracks. You can’t quibble with the four-on-the-floor intensity of tunes like opening salvo Point To A Point Blank. It was recorded over four days and nights, the only break being a jaunt over to a bar to see a reunited Real Kids, their first show in years, which floored the band and only added more mezcal to the fire.

Their feverish, psych-prog sound is full of motion. It jerks around at different speeds, threatening to spin out of control and crash into flames at any given moment. What’s more, it isn’t taken too seriously. This is heavy and intricate music, yes. But as bassist and co-singer Marco Menestrina puts it, the Kaleidobolt attitude is “an ugly smirk more than an angry face with a fist.” On their fifth album since forming in 2014, the Helsinki-based outfit lean into their strengths as a formidable power trio. With their previous two records, 2019’s Bitter and 2022’s This One Simple Trick, they had thrown everything at their disposal into the recording with no expense spared on overdubs, effects and kitchen sinks. Produced again by Niko Lehdontie (Oranssi Pazuzu), Karakuchi comes from tightly rehearsed, live-in-the-studio takes. Kaleidobolt realise that greater sparsity can be a strength, and they’ve allowed their instruments extra space to breathe. These span classic prog, Japanese city pop, noise rock, post-hardcore and historical podcasts. As for their new album’s title, that’s as suitable as the cover art. “Karakuchi” is the slogan of the Japanese beer brand Asahi Super Dry. Translated literally, this means “pungent to the mouth”. As drinkers of that product, Kaleidobolt acknowledge its parallels to their songs. “It’s very intense, right at the front, like at the first bite,” explains Menestrina. “And then it leaves your mouth feeling refreshed. The flavour doesn’t linger in your mouth, basically. It has a quick, hard finish. Anlässlich des 50-jährigen Jubiläums freut sich Ace Records, eine limitierte 3-LP-Compilation anzubieten, die dort beginnt, wo alles begann – bei Chiswick Records. Im November 1975 verwirklichte Ted Carroll endlich seinen Traum von einem eigenen Independent-Label, als Chiswick seine erste Single veröffentlichte – die EP 'Speedball' von The Count Bishops. Mit Roger Armstrong und Trevor Churchill an seiner Seite war Chiswick zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort. Bald darauf veröffentlichten sie Singles, die sich in den Bereichen Pub Rock, Punk, Metal, Pop und Rockabilly etablierten, darunter 101’ers, Motörhead, The Gorillas, The Radio Stars, The Radiators, The Stukas und viele mehr. Auch gabe es Artists die später groß werden sollten:. Joe Strummer war der Frontmann der 101’ers. Johnny & the Self Abusers verwandelten sich später in Simple Minds, während Riff Raff einen jungen Billy Bragg in ihren Reihen hatte. Der Solokünstler Jakko wurde zu einer tragenden Säule einer späteren Inkarnation von King Crimson. Spidergawd sind klassischer Heavy Rock mit gigantischem Melodieverständnis, das teils poppige Züge annimmt. Twin-Gitarren zelebrieren dieses Melodieverständnis exzessiv, duellieren sich und feuern es an und alles steht auf einem solide klassischen NWOBHM Fundament. Für ihr achtes Album in elf Jahren Band-Geschichte haben SPIDERGAWD einen überraschenden Titel gewählt: "From Eight to Infinity" oder "From 8 to _êP". Damit beendet die Band die Verwendung römischer Titel, die sie für ihre vorherigen sieben Alben verwendet hatte. Ansonsten scheint vieles vertraut, wenn sie mit ihrem unverkennbaren SPIDERGAWD-Sound, doppelten Gitarren, dreifachen Gesang und Bariton Saxophon in gewohnt aufwändigem Album Artwork stets wiedererkennbar bleiben. Natürlich bleiben die wichtigsten Referenzen wie Thin Lizzy und Motorhead offensichtlich. Aber während "VII" sich ein wenig an 80er-Jahre-Bands wie Rush, Adrian Smith und Boston anlehnen konnte, ist "From Eight to Infinity" in seinen Referenzen eher bei AC/DC und Cheap Trick auf der einen Seite und Metallica und Black Sabbath auf der anderen. Es gibt scheinbar immer noch keine Anzeichen dafür, dass Spidergawd einen Gang zurückschalten und die Band verspricht nicht nur im Titel eine große Zukunft. All das scheint vielversprechend für die anstehende Tour. Man konnte dies aber auch schon deutlich spüren bei den Support Shows für Judas Priest, ein Band-Traum, der in Erfüllung ging.
