More than thirty years after their seismic arrival, the legendary Wu-Tang Clan remains as relevant as
ever, whether inspiring an acclaimed TV series or securing a historic Las Vegas artist residency. With a wealth of talent that may never be duplicated, the group’s impact has been amplified by the solo careers of all nine members. Masta Killa has been an important part of this legacy, with four acclaimed solo albums containing countless Wu classics. Now, in the midst of the last Wu-Tang Clan tour ever, Masta Killa is back with the highly anticipated new album Balance. Executive produced by Wu-Tang mastermind RZA, the collection is vintage New York hip-hop at its finest, with thunderous drums courtesy of beatsmiths like Easy Mo Bee, PF Cuttin, Nick Price, and RZA himself. With creative verses rooted in technical brilliance, Detroit emcee Elzhi has attained the highest level of lyrical mastery. Now 15 years into an inspired solo career, the former Slum Village member has ramped up his output lately, joining forces with producers Georgia Anne Muldrow, Oh No, and JR Swiftz for three acclaimed albums in the 2020s. Now, Elzhi is reuniting with famed North Carolina producer Khrysis as the duo Jericho Jackson, revisiting the chemistry that resulted in a celebrated 2018 joint album. After emerging in the Justus League collective during the rise iconic group Little Brother, Khrysis has gone on to work with hip-hop royalty like Sean Price, Black Thought, Mac Miller, JID, Conway, Rapsody, Talib Kweli, Redman, and many more. With a highly anticipated album on the way, Elzhi and Khrysis are launching the new era of Jericho Jackson with the flawless EP I Am Him, channelling the spirit of vintage maxi-singles. “For me, the maxi-single represents a time when

hip-hop was unapologetically raw and underground,” Elzhi explains. “Some of my favourite artists used the format to showcase remixes, freestyles, and loose tracks that might not have fit the sound of an album. This is our way of restoring that feeling.” An exciting burst of new music from two undeniable talents, the project features appearances by Domo Genesis and Oh No.

After roughly 15 years out of the game, Marc Kushin makes a highly anticipated return with his Ely Muff project - a label favourite since its inception - debuting proper on Love Love with 4 tracker 'Human Nature'. Kushin's proto-tekno take on the early breakcore sound was a stand-out of a particularly noisy strain of hardcore which emerged in the UK in the late 90s and early 00s, releasing on the likes of Headfuk, One Inch Punch, Deathchant, as well as Kushin's own labels Kinky Stump and Dead Pig, run alongside longtime collaborator Tantrum.



Unpretentious, unserious and completely unapologetic, 'Human Nature' features four tracks of brutal hardcore spiral tekno, distorted and mangled but retaining groove and swagger. The EP features two re-released classics from Kushin's back catalogue: the pumped-up pirate radio pastiche of 'Hold Tite The P, No Need For London' and the feedback-laden blunt lobotomy of 'Automatic Predator', two decades on from their original releases in 2005 on Capsule Core and One Inch Punch. Complementing them are tracks 'Human Nature' and 'Cycle Dirty', previously unreleased spasmoid gems from the same era, unearthed and seeing the light of day for the first time.



All four tracks have been lovingly (re)mastered by Love Love's own Ben Pest for a maximal sonic experience, shining a light on this criminally overlooked corner of UK rave heritage.

The B1, 'TROPIC' invites Kali, lyricist, poet and azz influenced vocalist from Sheffield, accompanied on piano/rhodes by Nonna Fab.

The broken-beat focussed B2,'FLOAT' featuring bassist Tom French and an opening poem, that touches on thecosmos, by Kali.

Multi-instrumentalist, producer, band leader, record collector and party'starter, Nonna Fab has launched the label as a platform to push the sound of his own music, working closely with a range of musicians from the North.

Nonna Fab is behind audiophile party, Apricot Ballroom, which was named in the top 10 nights in the country in TimeOut Magazine as well as being acknowledged for being a pioneer of northern contemporary jazz by BBC for Footprints. As well as this, Nonna Fab is co-owner of Grub Records, which has been written about in DJMag, Mixmag and Resident Advisor.

Front man Austin Getz doesn't blink when asked to sum up Turnover's third full-length, Good Nature. "Learning," he replies. "This whole record is about learning. Opening your eyes to new things, going outside of your comfort zone, and learning to grow into something new."The album's unique blend of musical and spiritual growth is immediately audible on the opening track, "Super Natural," a late-summer idyll of intertwined guitar parts and laidback vocals. Listening to how the leisurely "Nightlight Girl" melts into a more propulsive selection like "Breeze," and the way Good Nature flows together as a seamless whole, it's also evident that the foursome has been paying closer attention to how artists from earlier eras made full-length albums: the range of textures, tempos, and dynamics on Good Nature are infuenced in part by bossa nova, cool jazz, electronic music, and psychedelic grooves. This infux of new infuences and inspiration, navigated by Peripheral Vision producer Will Yip, results in the band's best album to date. Good Nature comes from a place of calm and contentment, nurtured by looking inward.

In the turbulent world of hip-hop, few artists are able to make the transition from hot young star to acclaimed rap luminary. Los Angeles emcee Blu has followed this rare path, graduating from a spot on the 2009 XXL Freshman list to an expansive catalog with more than 25 celebrated releases. The Doors Of Perception is among the most experimental and innovative releases by famed jazz vibraphonist Dave Pike. Recorded in 1966 and released in 1970, the album finds Pike indulging in full-fledged psychedelic jazz, with trippy grooves and a new sound. Produced by Herbie Mann, The Doors Of Perception features an all-star cast of musicians, including Eddie Daniels, Lee Konitz, Don Friedman, and Chuck Israel. Their talents are complemented by a wide range of sound effects, from echo chambers to piped-in applause to thunderstorms to fuzzy distortion, making for a dynamic and unique listening experience.

»Mother Nature« is the debut solo album by Berend Intelmann, a key figure in the German indie music scene since the late 1980s. Having made his name as a member of groups such as Hallelujah Ding Dong Happy Happy, Guther, and Paula, Intelmann most recently focussed on his work as a producer for artists such as Jens Friebe, MissinCat, or Fotos. »Mother Nature« sees the multi-instrumentalist and singer navigate between pop sentiment and his penchant for classical music on these eight pieces, three of which feature additional contributions by Karaoke Kalk label mate Marla Hansen, synth pop iconoclast Der Assistent, and the versatile Mieke Miami, respectively. »Mother Nature« combines a sense of playfulness with cunning compositional rigour to stunning effect.

Intelmann took full creative licence and worked with the instruments that he feels most comfortable using: the drums, synthesizers, and his voice. While inspired by his life-long passion for pop music in all shades, he also took some cues from his more recent passion for classical music. »The synthesizer melodies are arranged like string quartets, while the songs are presented as musical themes strung together so that they form a coherent story,« he explains. The resulting sound isn’t quite as »krauty« as someone called it, instead the artist prefers to call it »slow-kraut—1980s synth sound with 1970s George Duke-style beats,« though of course he never attempted to fit in one specific genre or replicate a certain sound: This is simply the essence of Berend Intelmann as a composer and storyteller.

The lyrical matter of »Mother Nature« is inspired by life and death. This informs an album that masterfully creates contrasts and utilises the friction generated between them to tell its stories. The album opener and second single »All Gone« greets its audience with the couplet »In the long run / We’re all gone,« but sets this to soothing sounds that form a joyful counterpoint to the fatalism of the words. Also the slowly-unfolding first single »Life Of Another One« sets the stage for a reflection on memories that have become so distant that they feel like belonging to another person altogether with sombre, intertwined melodies. However, these darker tones slowly give way to laid-back grooves, Intelmann’s smooth vocalisations and whirling synthesizer sequences.

The collaborations—a vocal duet with Marla Hansen on »A Focused Mind,« Der Assistent’s subtle theremin contributions to »The Less We Cared« and Mieke Miami flute and saxophone playing on »Mother Nature«—further enrich this album that the artist claims has been »co-produced by friends and family.« Indeed, »Mother Nature« might be Intelmann’s solo debut proper, but he remains a teamplayer at heart.
