NILS FRAHM and F.S.BLUMM have confirmed the release of their fifth collaborative album, Handling. Containing three tracks but 40 minutes long, it finds the duo advancing from 2021’s dub-influenced 2X1=4, deploying its lessons in ambitious new territory that also nods to earlier collections. Recorded at his studio in Berlin’s Funkhaus, the album will be released by LEITER on vinyl and via all digital platforms on September 19, 2025.

Handling’s three exquisitely detailed pieces are each entitled ‘Leuchter,’ German for ‘candlestick,’ encapsulating the LP’s luminescent glow and rising inner energy. Its scrupulous arrangements exploit a magic cabinet of instruments, among them pianos, celestas and cristal baschets, glockenspiels, guitars and multiple forms of percussion. Their painstakingly engineered improvisations were equally meticulously reassembled in a series of intense editing sessions.

That the duo’s collaboration is built on a friendship and mutual admiration dating back to the early 2000s enables an unusual level of trust, despite both operating in their own distinct manner. “It’s not Frank, it’s not Nils,” they reflect. “We’ve become a new persona.” Handling blends Blumm’s organic chaos with Frahm’s structured intuition, offering a distinct and luminous experience that doesn’t just sound different, but feels like its own evolving world.

WRWTFWW Records is extremely happy to present the official reissue of Safari's self-titled album from 1984. The Japanese jazz-fusion super gem is available now as a limited-edition transparent vinyl LP housed in a heavyweight sleeve with obi.

Originally released on fabled label VAP, Safari is a one-of-a-kind city pop-adjacent summer blend of AOR, smooth jazz, and sun-drenched boogie. The sole album from the all-star outfit was the brainchild of keyboardist Toshiyuki Daitoku and Japan-based Californian jazz-funk-latin-fusion bassist Gregg Lee. Together with a large team of experienced musicians, they created a lush, immaculately-arranged 8-track cruise filled with poolside grooves, breezy rhythms, and feel-good vocal harmonies.

Safari features the well-known title track which acted as the theme song for an 80s sports program on Fuji Television, the night-swim chill music tune "All Right in The Night", and the fan-favorite buoyant vacation hit "The Morning After".

The official reissue is fully licensed and sourced from the original masters, with an audiophile cut by Sidney Meyer at Emil Berliner Studios, ensuring the warm, pristine sound this lost treasure deserves.

Safari is the second release from WRWTFWW's City Pop Series, following Momoko Kikuchi's beach classic Ocean Side, also available on transparent vinyl LP. The series, complete with a visual identity designed by Lopetz/Büro Destruct, also comes with a limited merch capsule, and more sun-soaked gems lined up for the future.

A photo in Rodney Stepp’s scrapbook sums this period in his life in music. It’s 1974, The Spinners were headliners at the “Zaire 74” music festival, a sideshow to Muhammad Ali’s fabled “Rumble in the Jungle” fight with George Foreman. Among the faded snapshots, there’s a picture of Stepp backstage posing arm in arm with Ali; another image shows The Greatest seated at Stepp’s Fender Rhodes alongside vocalist Etta James. It was all a dream for this Naptown wunderkind, who had previously recorded for Herb Miller’s LAMP Records as the Diplomatics and had issued the sweet soul killer “Young Girl” as Jazzie Cazzie and the Eight Sounds on a rare Knaptown 45. (These recordings have been documented on the Now-Again LAMP anthology and our Loving On The Flipside compilation.) But as exciting as his rise out of those local status was, as exciting as it was to headline festivals and arenas and appear on late night talk shows, Stepp grew restless with the mechanical routine of being a sideman. He grew tired of playing the same charts night after night. He was hungry for a creative outlet that mimicked his earliest days in recorded music. So, in 1978, Stepp left The Spinners and returned to Indianapolis, where he established an all-stargroup of musicians–including members of Jazzie Cazzie and the fabled Amnesty–and he named the band Rapture. They inspired countless others. They recorded an album’s worth of material. Now-Again’s Egon first got tapes from Stepp in 2002 and dutifully transferred them, but the time was not right for a foray into this wealth of material. Come 2025, and this is the first time it Rapture’s music is seeing the light of day, a triumphant, late career moment for Stepp and a cause for celebration of those intrigued by deep, sweet soul and disco funk

20/20 Vision is doing a fine job of digging into its archives and reissuing genuine treasure. Next up is a Spirit Catcher classic from 2007 that has been long out of print. The Belgian pair of Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet really hit on a fresh sound with their blend of electro-deco and deep house and this double pack still sounds hot all these years on. From the mid-tempo and seductive boogie of 'Motown Spring' to the cosmic tech of 'Search Is Over' via the dazzling disco radiance and sleek Metro Area style vibes of 'Rollercoaster', these are sophisticated sounds that marry dancefloor clout with great sound design. Check 'Voodoo Knight' for a playful and well-worked party starter, by the way.

Nach vier erfolgreichen EPs veröffentlichen LOKI ihr Debut-Album Cyan. Mit facettenreichen Inspirationen von Phoebe Bridgers oder Big Thief über Bon Iver und James Blake bis hin zu 80er Ikonen wie Tears for Fears, lässt LOKI keine Langeweile aufkommen. Cyan ist ein Album, das die Reise selbst feiert. Cyan ist eine Ode an die musikalische Vielseitigkeit der achtköpfigen Band und das bisher größte Kapitel einer Reise, die noch lange nicht zu Ende ist.

Adam Wise, you may know, is Fabulous Lover and this new record marks his first for Pete Herbert's Music for Swimming Pools. It's a mature mix of 80s-inspired Balearic electro-funk with a tropical twist straight from his Bali studio. This sun-soaked collection bridges sunset vibes and dancefloor energy with 'It's Lonely At The Top' a funky opener with a squelchy bassline and playful riffs. 'Elevate' douses you in 80s synth sounds that glow warm, and label head remixes into a more buoyant Balearic house beat. Elsewhere is the gentle swagger of 'Low Bounce' and lush synth disco buzz of 'Automatic.' Feel-good grooves, for sure.

his ultimate 6LP Boxset presents the works of Pascal Comelade from 1984 to 2024 and his 40 years producing instrumental music. Each vinyl has been thought as an album in itself , with its own identity, that could be listened as it is. According to the artist, "Improperies- compositions et enregistrements magnétiques (1984-2024)" is a music puzzle which doesn't obey to any rule with the exception of Pascal Comelade's creation and art thoughts that kept moving over the years.
Limited numbered to 500 copies - 6 x Black Vinyl in spineless sleeve, heawyweight cardboard slipcase/custod numbered at the back, includes an insert-photo signed by the artist. The boxset artwork is an original creation by Miquel Barceló.

The Rachel's band began when Jason Noble joined forces with Christian Frederickson. Within months of their meeting on a crowded trolley, they had formed a small ensemble to perform original compositions. In the next three years, madness ensued. Christian finished his degree at the Peabody Conserva-tory of Music, traveled to Switzerland to study, returned home, then wound up in NYC to attend the Julliard School. Jason didn't finish his degree, moved back to Louisville, began employment as an artist by day, dishwasher by night, and be-gan working with friends in a band that would become Rodan. This insane, all over the world life-style, led to a barrage of telephone, demo tape, notepaper, sheet music & mail communication. This, combined with sporadic two-week or two-day person-to-person collaborations in whatever city was central enough, became the bizarre process of the music. During this long gestation, Rachel Grimes became involved, first assisting Jason in his brute comprehension of written music, then joining as a pianist & confidant. Soon she was fully entrenched, providing the strange coincidence of possessing the name "Rachel," and an incredible backbone to the project. Several recordings had been finished, some in the studio, hundreds of 8-track cassettes, a few jambox cuts, but the time for a concentrated attempt at an LP seemed far away. Finally, Rachel, Christian, & Jason began assembling musicians who they respected; John, Mark and Barry from the Chicago supergroup The Coctails, Kevin Coul-tas from Rodan, Bob Weston, and several other string players from various walks of life. The result was a group of semi-vagrants, some reading from sheet music, some rambunctious noisemakers, working from an equally improvisational and tight-assed way. The real character comes from the musicians involved, participating in what can only be called a "labor of love." "Die Grenzen Deines Landes sind die Grenzen Deines Verstands" - hier mit markant-markigem Gesang ist ein forderndes Stück und, wie der Titelschon andeutet, auch ein dezidiert politisches. Und auch "Storno" treibt vehement nach vorne: ein unwiderstehlicher Beat aus Schlagzeug und Bass, störrische Gitarrenriffs, breite Soundflächen, Freejazz-Artiges vom Keyboard: Hier spielt eine Band, die mehr sein will, als ein nostalgischer Krautrock-Gedächtnisverein. Am 26.09.2025 erscheint beim feinen Wiener Indie-Label Voller Sound endlich das heiß erwartete Debüt-Album der New-New-Wave-Band Parc de Triomphe - als Vinyl mit grell-pinken Farbtupfern. Eine Reminiszenz an die 1980er- und 1990er-Jahre. Auf dem selbstbetitelten Album setzen sich Jörn Brien und Florian Knabenschuh in gewohnt düsterer Elektro-Pop-Manier mit der eigenen Vergangenheit auseinander. Themen wie Einsamkeit, Verletzlichkeit und die Angst vor Umbrüchen werden aufgehellt von Farb- und Hoffnungsschimmern. Druckvoll, treibend, wütend Musikalisch geht es bass- und beat-lastig zur Sache. In den oft tanzbaren Stücken werden der druckvolle Basslauf und die treibenden Beats von der markanten Stimme und einem ebenso einprägsamen Gitarrensound begleitet. Manchmal schrille, oft wütende, dann wieder ruhige, kühle Synthie-Klänge unterstreichen die Anleihen beim New Wave der 1980er. Passend zu den Texten, die sich nicht zuletzt mit DDR, Wende und den nachfolgenden Baseballschlägerjahren in Ostdeutschland auseinandersetzen. Aber keine Sorge vor zu viel Vergangenheit und Nostalgie. Im Gegenteil: Frei nach dem Bandmotto "Krawall! Elektro! Pop!" schlagen die Musiker mit ihrer melancholisch-düsteren Musik und den aufwühlenden, lyrischen Texten eine Brücke ins Hier und Jetzt. Die erzeugten Emotionen bewegen Jung und Alt. Radio-Airplay, Charts und TV Mit der EP "Harte Zeiten" haben Parc de Triomphe Ende 2023 ein erstes Ausrufezeichen gesetzt. Mit Airplay auf FM4, zahlreichen Konzerten und einem TV-Auftritt sowie Platzierungen in den Austrian Indie-Charts konnte sich die Band in der Wiener Indie-Szene schon einen Namen machen. Der Song "Westradio" lief beim beliebten Berliner Sender radioeins. Auf Spotify kommen die bisher vorab veröffentlichten Singles jeweils auf Tausende Streams. Auf dem Album "Parc de Triomphe" finden sich insgesamt 12 fein produzierte (Alf Peherstorfer) Songs, die eingängig, aber nie langweilig sind, straight, aber auf ihre Art trotzdem schräg. "Geschmackvoll, eingängig und wundervoll" FM4-Moderator Andreas Gstettner-Brugger schrieb zur Single "Harte Zeiten": "Die beiden deutschen Musiker, die sich in einem Wiener Park kennengelernt haben, produzieren hier einen geschmackvollen, eingängigen und wundervollen Song, der mich an Tocotronic, frühe Blumfeld und diverse Krautrockbands erinnert." Fazit: Fans deutschsprachiger Musik, die den New-Wave-Sound der 1980er-Jahre im modernen Gewand feiern und dem Indie-Sound der frühen 1990er-Jahre nicht abgeneigt sind, sollten "Parc de Triomphe" auf ihre Plattenteller legen.

Reverend Beat-Man, das Schweizer Ein-Mann-Orchester und der König des Blues Trash, trifft auf Milan Slick, eine echt dunkle Seele und vielleicht Reinkarnation von Nick Cave (ach, noch zugegen)/Johnny Thunders, um Rock'n'Roll zu spielen, der so frisch und lebendig, wild und düster ist wie nie zuvor. Reverend Beat-Man und Milan Slick lernten sich 2020 inmitten der Pandemie kennen, als sie einen Soundtrack für den Vampirfilm "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night" von Ana Lily Amirpour schrieben. Zusammen spielten sie Gigs bei Super Sonic Records oder im legendären SO36 in Berlin, um dann gemeinsam mit Beatrice Graf und Benjamin Glaus ein Album unter dem Namen "Reverend Beat-Man & The Underground" zu produzieren (im Rahmen des Rocklette PALP Festivals), eine makabre Tanzparty zum Untergang der Menschheit. Als Nächstes nahmen der superprimitive Rock 'n` Roll-Trash-Hi-Energy-Lo-Fi Reverend Beat-Man und der raffinierte, clevere, verspielte und düstere Milan Slick ihr erstes gemeinsames Album im ehemaligen Züri West Studio mit Sebastian Zwahlen und dem einzigartigen Robert Butler von Miracle Workers auf. Reverend Beat-Man ist eigentlich eine Ein-Mann-Band mit einer Mission: Blues-Trash und wilden Rock'n'Roll. Geboren 1967 in Bern, Schweiz, im Sommer der Liebe und des Hasses, ist er seit 1992 auf Tour, zuerst als Lightning Beat-Man, dann als Reverend Beat-Man One-Man-Band und mit seiner Band The Monsters. Er spielte in ganz Europa, Nord- und Südamerika, Japan, Vietnam, Neuseeland, Australien, Afrika, CBGBs, Montreux Jazz, Muddy Roots usw. Er ist der Gründer von Voodoo Rhythm Records (1992). Wäre er Politiker, würden ihn sogar seine Feinde respektieren (die Regierung). Er wurde 2014 für den Schweizer Musikpreis nominiert, gewann den lokalen Musikpreis als einflussreichster Musiker in Bern (Hauptstadt der Schweiz) und betreibt dort einen Platten- und Souvenirladen. Der Singer-Songwriter Milan Slick (Jahrgang 2004) steht noch ganz am Anfang seiner Karriere, hat aber bereits mit namhaften Künstlern wie Mario Batkovic oder Birdman Jäggi oder seiner eigenen Band Fatigues zusammengearbeitet. In seiner Musik sind Einflüsse von u.a. Mit "Fallen und Schweben" veröffentlicht Rauchen ihr bisher zugänglichstes und zugleich reifstes Album. Die Hamburger Band bleibt ihrem wütenden Kern treu, öffnet ihren Sound aber erstmals spürbar, ohne sich dabei anzubiedern. Zwischen flirrenden Gitarren, schepperndem Schlagzeug und einer Stimme, die immer noch mehr fragt als antwortet, sickert eine neue Form von Melancholie durch: eine, die nicht nur gegen, sondern auch für etwas kämpft. Stilistisch knüpft das Album an die rohen 90er an. Irgendwo zwischen Emocore, Noise und frühem Post-Hardcore, ohne in Nostalgie zu verfallen. Besonders der titelgebende Schlusstrack "FALLEN UND SCHWEBEN" markiert einen Wendepunkt: versöhnlich, fast zärtlich, und doch eindeutig Rauchen. Das Artwork stammt von André Finster, dessen reduzierte Bildsprache das Spannungsverhältnis des Albums visuell spiegelt. Zwischen Aufbruch und Absturz, Härte und Hingabe. "Fallen und Schweben" ist ein Album für alle, die im Lärm Trost suchen und in der Stille das Echo ihrer Wut.
