energising, entertaining, expressive and danceable.’ High praise

Coasters’ songs are more famous than the group themselves.

From new beat and electro to techno and synthwave, Night Prologue carves out the Panthers on Wax identity, nocturnal, hybrid, and driven by narrative.

Rosa is a new project from two long established Berlin-based artists, Roman Lindau and Sascha Rydell, and ColorCode is the new label they have minted together. Building on the success of their first three EPs is this fourth collaborative offering that is essential once more. As close friends with more than 20 years of experience DJing and producing, this pair know a lot about crafting weighty grooves that make floors move. They have done so many times over on labels like Berlin's well regarded
Fachwerk and this new project is rooted in the belief that you should "not take yourself too seriously, and have fun doing what you love." First up is 'Just Wanna' with its galloping, rubbery kick drums and incendiary hi hats. Whirring vocal loops and heavy hits builds the pressure and lock you in this most chunky and funky of techno grooves. The excellent 'Flash' then traps you deep in the dance floor amidst the smoke and the lasers, with well sequenced chords panning about the mix and brooding bass sucking you in from below. It's is suspensory techno with a real emotional quality.

This remastered vinyl reissue of Blind Ear reintroduces The Celibate Rifles' urgent, socially aware punk-rock energy, cementing its place as a cornerstone of Australian alternative rock. 1989 is where The Celibate Rifles take their punk instincts to the next level-garage muscle, surgical precision, and a rock'n'roll pulse that sounds more urgent than ever today. Formed in Sydney ten years ago, the band appears here in full flight: two guitars in constant dialogue, a rhythm section with newfound dynamic range, and a razor-edged vocal that bites without losing melody. The remaster opens up the stereo image, sharpens the six-string detail, and restores to the turntable the physical punch this record demanded from day one; it's the definitive way to (re)discover a key title from the Australian school. The tracklist is pure traction: "Some Kind of Feeling" hits the ground running with speed and focus; "Wonderful Life '88" nails an instant hook and a clear-eyed critique of yuppie culture; and the closer, "O Salvation," lands as an expansive, cathartic statement of intent. Two tracks unusual in Australian rock for their subject matter-"Sean O'Farrell" and "Belfast"-tackle the Northern Ireland conflict head-on and underscore the band's social gaze, while the rest of the album maintains a no-filler intensity. Eddie Kendricks was the falsetto voice of The Temptations during the group’s heyday years at Motown Records. Signed as a solo artist with the Tamla label he achieved further success with an array of hits (including the No.1 single “Keep On Truckin’”) and popular album tracks that remain in demand today. “Date With The Rain” was originally released in 1972 (from the album “People…Hold On”), “Intimate Friends” later in 1977 (from the album “Slick”), a song written by Garry Glen who would go on to write for Al Hudson (“Spread Love”), Phyllis Hyman (“Be Careful How You Treat My Love”) and Anita Baker (“Caught Up In The Rapture”) among many. More. “Intimate Friends” has also been sampled over 80 times by artists including Alicia Keys (in “Unbreakable”), Erykah Badu and a significant number or r&b/hip hop artists. “Date With The Rain” has also been much sampled and covered most notably by Jamie Principle in 1990.

Nearly 40 years ago A.O.A. and OI POLLOI joined forces to condemn what they saw as an Unlimited Genocide. Fast forward to 2025 and nothing has changed for the better, with everybody witnessing a genocide unfolding in front of our eyes daily, while humanity hits rocks bottom. So Sealed Record decided it was the right time to bring back this classic slice of Scottish punks and skins protest music.
Originally released on the ever impressive Children of the Revolution Records Unlimited Genocide features the hardest side of the OI POLLOI vast catalogue. Full of rage and anger, tensely tuneful with earnest anarcho conviction. With A.O.A. On the flip side delivering seven tracks of full in your face hardcore punk, carrying the torch of the DISCHARGE influenced thrash of the era.
The record has a strong 80’s production and touches on green and environmental issues, apartheid, nuclear power, religion, vegetarianism and much more. It’s raw, direct and a great snapshot of an era that is often mimicked but never bettered.
This reissue has been remastered and includes a printed inner sleeve as well as a slightly altered artwork.

Manny Corchado should be a household name for all boogaloo fans. A true boogaloo gem that blends Manny Corchado's explosive rhythm with the melodic touch of salsa legend Nelson y sus Estrellas. His classic track 'Pow-Wow' is one of the most sought-after singles among collectors and DJs-not just for its A-side, but also for the absolute dance floor bomb hidden on its B-side: 'Chicken and Booze.' This instrumental recording features an irresistible rhythm section that could practically serve as the definition of the boogaloo genre itself. In this case, it plays at a faster tempo than other similar hits, making it even more effective on the dance floor. The horn arrangements create a catchy hook, spiced up with percussion breaks, all while driving its addictive, fast-paced groove. On the B-side of this single, we find another version of the same song-this time re-titled 'Aguardiente y Pollo' in Spanish-performed by Nelson y sus Estrellas. The tropical and salsa orchestra, founded in Venezuela by pianist, composer, and bandleader Nelson González Rojas, keeps the same punch and dance-driven focus as Corchado's version, but adds more melodic and sophisticated arrangements, in the style of the other tracks featured on the band's 1977 album, where this stunning cut was originally included (available here on a 45 for the first time). This Latin vinyl 45er is pure dance floor dynamite!

Autumn 1983: "Paris Latino" hits the radios. The hit was then ranked No. 1 in the Europe 1 and RTL charts, No. 1 in Spain, No. 2 in Germany, Italy and Switzerland, No. 3 in the famous Top 50 in France and No. 19 in Belgium. Very quickly, the Bandolero group sold 3 million records of this first single. With a rather funk-disco-pop sound, the title is taken over by the students of season 2 of Star Academy and finds itself ranked No. 1 in the Top 50! Bandolero then released four more singles. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of "Paris Latino", Bandolero offers this compilation of 10 tracks containing several versions of their mega hit (remixes, foreign version...) but also of their other singles, for the first time on color vinyl. Classic Latin Tunes Became Sals Hits! Pablo Yglesias -aka DJ Bongohead- compiles Grosso Recordings an amazing serie with classics tunes from Caribbean music that became great successes of "Salsa". Some tracks have been remastered and restored, others are presented on vinyl again after many many years. "This is the four volume in our series on the Roots of Salsa...The main criterion was to pick tracks that sounded adequate for today's DJs to play at a gig or were sufficiently interesting (or enough of a surprise to fans of the later version) to merit inclusion. The other measuring stick was that they needed to come from the old-school, before the more modern era (from 1962 on) and all of its recording innovations and marketing strategies...for now, listen to these dozen gems and then go back to their more familiar cousins from recent times and compare and contrast, and we're sure you'll be enlightened and entertained." Hercules & Love Affair music has always been about folding past, present and future together – and never more so than in the latest phase, encapsulated by the track that launches things, “Someone Else is Calling.”

If the song-first, ultra-gothic mind-movie of the last H&LA album In Amber was partly motivated by Andy Butler falling out of love with dance culture, this new body of work – an EP titled Someone Else Is Calling – is an unabashed resurgence of the love affair. A co-production with London underground veteran and inspiration to Butler, Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London and Decius, the lead single is a surging, tactile acid track woven around the vocal of Icelandic icon Hips & Lips aka Elín Ey – who hits that new wave disco sweet spot between Grace Jones and Yazoo era Alison Moyet.

Elín’s lyrics work perfectly with the bodily momentum of the sounds, circling around themes of self-possession and the urge to move on to the next experience, the next sensation: hunger for reality. And this taps into Andy’s feelings on escaping New York and moving to Belgium, discovering that dance culture was anything but the hollowed-out, identikit-festival-lineup conveyor belt he’d feared, and still had plenty of outposts where it was still – as he’d first experience it as a teen – about the hot, sweaty reality of diverse people seeking communion, communication and heightened ways of being in the here and now.

The video, filmed by Tatsumi Milori couldn’t be a better expression of exactly this. A love letter to the strange and glorious party scene of Mexico City, it captures people who are both tapping into the eternal verities of those magical dancefloor communions, and thrilling – against all the odds of oppressive forces – at the sense of possibility in the flow of gender and sexuality in the present moment. It’s powered by innocence and experience as intertwined forces, and it amplifies the heartbeat of the song a thousandfold. There will be more, much more, to follow from the partnership of Andy, Elín and Quinn. It digs deeper still into the decades of dance and other underground cultures that feed into this modern moment – but this shining beacon should give you a pretty good hint.
