The Nu’rons were a family group consisting of two sets of brothers and cousins, the four young men in question being brothers Daryl Howard and Raymond Gibson (Daryl’s mother registered him under his father’s surname of Howard and Raymond under her maiden name of Gibson) together with Otho Bateman and Charles Bateman. They were all born and raised in Salem, New Jersey and from the age of ten and eleven began singing with a fifth member and Gibson brother Rudolph as a group called The Gospel 5. They eventually decided to crossover to secular music and as a group known for their energetic dance routines they came up with the new performing name of ‘The Nu’rons’ (taken from the word ‘Neuron’ which is a cell that transmits nerve impulses). However Rudolph was soon to leave the group due to physical illness. Also Daryl Howard and Charles Bateman had also been part of a working group known as The Devotions prior to becoming The Nu-Ron’s.Following hours of practice The Nu’rons eventually felt confident enough to put their own shows together and began to perform at local dances and parties around New Jersey and Philadelphia, often being used as a non-paid warm up act for bigger named artists. They moved between several different managers including Jimmy Bishop (Duo Dynamic Productions) until they came under the tutelage of WDAS radio DJ Georgie Woods (his wife Gilda, being the owner of the Philadelphia Gil, Dion and Top & Bottom record Labels). It was Georgie who introduced them to Manny Campbell who in turn invited them to an audition at his and partner Charles Bowen’s Emandolynn Music studio in Chester P.A. The song The Nu’rons chose to audition with was the self penned “I’m A Loner”, the audition went well, as during late January/early February of 1970 Manny and Charles took The Nu’rons into the Sigma Sound Studio’s with Tom Bell and the TSOP musicians to record “I’m A Loner” and “All My Life” which was released on the Nu-Ron label in April of the same year. The two studio takes presente don this release came short after the band moved on from the collaboration with producer Emanuel Campbell to take music matters in their own hands. Beside recording "Disco Hustle" to be part of the disco boom in Philly of the times, they recorded also “You Came Thru”, a rough yet beautiful heavy bassline driven soul funk recording, and the just amazing “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, here presented in one of the original Studio takes.

House’n Authority - a moniker of Rheji Burrell. Next up is Steve Mac’s remix of NYC favourites The Sound Vandals’ ‘Tonight’s The Night’, followed by another seminal N.Y. House’n Authority record, ‘APT. 3B’ remixed by Dazzle Drums. A third track from the mind Rheji Burrell closes out this vinyl collection of future record box staples, with Seamus Haji reworking The Utopia Project’s ‘File #1’.

An artist who needs no introduction, Mike Dunn returns to the legendary NYC label Nu Groove with a four-track vinyl release that brings together disparate influences from the master’s encyclopaedic knowledge of genre and style.

What results are productions that are at once timeless, a quality that can only be achieved through the lived experiences of a four-decade career. Title track ‘Git’cha House On, Baby’ is a late 80s freestyle throwback, with hard synth lines running the show, while ‘Don’t Pay Me No Mind’ is a metropolitan anthem led by a solid piano groove.

Additionally, the vinyl features two tracks from Dunn’s ‘Rock Ya Body (Deepa)’; the lead, an effortlessly cool deliverance of pure, unadulterated house, and ‘Let’cha Love Fall Down On Me’ which swells and flows with addictive ease. Elevating all four compositions are the producer’s signature vocals, immediately arresting and suitable for all genres. House and techno mainstay Steve Bug returns to Nu Groove with four-track EP ‘Let’s Work’, showcasing the sound of a true electronic pioneer on vinyl. Up first is title track ‘Let’s Work’, a bouncy club record with a cool, metropolitan feel. What follows are ‘Mr Wonders’ and ‘Not The First Time’, two tracks that highlight Steve Bug’s rhythmic expertise and mastery of tension. Closing out this vinyl collection of fresh house music is a collaboration with Los Angeles native and dance culture expert Juliet Mendoza; ‘Whispers In The Dark’ features Juliet’s magnetic spoken word over Steve’s brooding electronic groove.

Mysticisms returns, looking to the source, Detroit City, with the beautiful house music of Soiree Records International and their 1995 deep vocal bomb, That's How Lovers Be.

Established in 1990 by Derrick Thompson, Soiree has long focused on the deeper side of house, late night rhythms across over 70 releases. Never making a shout out about it, the label might not of garnered the kudos it deserves while laying down a tight standard of cosmic sonic delight.

Featuring in the main Thompson's own Drivetrain releases, his production skills are deployed on this one time project. Written and sung by Montaze Armstrong, alongside the smooth accompaniment of Merchon Bower, the production is ubiquitous Drivetrain. His main mix sets the scene; hats proffering swing and impetus while bass and chords underpin the vocal interplay to skyward perfection.

Once again the label conjoins a latter day contemporary and admired producer to offer their own retake and who better than the essential producer of all things deep, Nail. A huge influence on the label during the formative years of (free party) house music's ascent, his recent return has been widely welcomed. His 'mix' is full of respect and perfect pitch, adding his distinctive low-end rumble, hypnotic hats, skips, loop and shake.

To close, it's all about the legend that is Scott Grooves. Nothing more needs be said, his 9-minute ride show jazz roots worn firmly. Rhodes, claps, piano and vocal are all that's needed. Loose, funky and soulful from a true master.

UK-born DJ, producer and label boss Jimpster debuts on cult label Nu Groove in 2025 with a fresh set of four originals, The Phoenix EP, now on wax. Across this four-track collection, Jimpster showcases over two decades of production expertise, starting with a title track that showcases a club-ready sound built for the underground; ‘The Phoenix’ builds a tight groove through the ebb and flow of overlapping rhythmic patterns. Today, the record remains a favourite of tastemakers everywhere, with Big Love label boss Seamus Haji dropping the OG at Defected Croatia in 2023. The hugely influential British DJ and producer Bushwacka! now returns to the legendary NYC label Nu Groove, following his four-track EP ‘House Sounds Vol. 1’, to bring out the percussive power of ‘My Love Is Magic’ with its distinct piano bassline and modern synth work. Two longstanding electronic legends, Steve Bug reunites with frequent collaborator Cle for the three-track ‘It Just Happened EP’ on Nu Groove.

The German tastemaker and Poker Flat label boss has helped define a plethora of electronic sub genres through his modern releases and expansive DJ sets. A member of the legendary Rat Pack rave outfit, Bushwacka’s impact on the underground scene of the ‘90s was felt worldwide; together with fellow Brit Layo Paskin, the pair created spellbinding compositions that defined the sound of house and techno, blending the two genres approaching the new millennium.

For this fresh outing on the pioneering NYC label Nu Groove, Bushwacka taps into his unwavering knowledge of dancefloor culture. The opening, an ode to the legendary imprint ‘Strictly Nu’, builds infectious loops with ease before dropping into an arresting four-on-the-floor club feel.

The subsequent tracks follow suit, with ‘Love Can You’ and ‘Right Now’ showcasing the producer’s unique club-led sound in full flow, while ‘True For You’ has a more minimalistic approach. Almost 2 years after the success of the album The Tony Allen Experiments and a few months after the release of the 7inch Amore, Nu Guinea returns to the scene with a new LP published by their newborn label NG RECORDS.

After touring the world looking for sounds suitable for their vibrations, NU GUINEA decided to go back to square one, Napoli, where Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina were born and raised. They watched their city from a distance reconstructing its energy from their studio in
Berlin, calibrating the synths on the meridian of Vesuvius, the volcano that has always protected and threatened Napoli.

Nuova Napoli is the result of a long musical research that has become a historical investigation on the sound that shaped Napoli during the ‘70s and ‘80s, starting from the contamination of genres (disco, jazz-funk, African rhythms) which ended up in Nu Guinea’s DNA.

In this album the synthesizers fill the spaces between the past and the future, tightening in a single body acoustic instruments, electronics and voices in Neapolitan dialect. It is the first time that the duo has worked with such a large group of musicians, some of whom are exponents of the contemporary Neapolitan scene.

Comet is pleased to announce the third volume of the Afrobeat Makers Series: Nu Guinea - The Tony Allen Experiments.By re-working the original magic drum patterns from the Afrobeat master Tony Allen, Nu Guinea created a compilation of tracks which is charged by a voluminous electronic jazz-Psyche funk imprint.For this release, Comet Records teamed up with Early Sounds Recordings, the berlin label, also home to duo Berliners Nu Guinea.The Naples formed, Berlin-based duo, is a project that arose out of jam sessions, melting synthesizers with instruments, containing a handmade sound that is not aiming for perfection but genuineness. It can be understood as a steadily shaping form, always open for collaborations with other musicians.
They've previously collaborated with singer Wayne Snow (fellow berliner artist on Comet) for the vocal edit of Nu-World, also delivered a remix for Wayne Snow' Rosie Ep' both recently released on Tartelet Records.Nu Guinea - The Tony Allen Experiments LP due to be out on February 9th 2016, as vinyl LP.

"Call Me" is an electronic/house track by DJ Dino (Dino Lenny) on Nu-Tella Records, released in 2003.

It's praised for its deep, emotional, and melodic atmosphere, occasionally shifting from darker tones to uplifting major keys,

recalling classic electronic sounds with modern touches, though specific aggregate scores are scarce.

Official 2026 reissue includes, in addition to the original and remixes by Par-T-One and Santos, the previously unreleased version by Walterino.

Back in 2002 British producers Fingaz and Skillz teamed up to create a project showcasing the current state of London’s R&B and hip-hop artists. In collaboration with different artists, they produced the compilation Big Brovaz Watching You, which led to the eventual formation of the group Big Brovaz. The group was referred to as a softer version of the So Solid Crew. The group enjoyed huge success, particularly with their debut album, which made big waves in the UK charts, with four singles reaching the Top 10. “Nu Flow”, the debut single, even reached the top 3 in Australia, Belgium, New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden and Turkey. Similar successes were also achieved by the “Favourite Things” and “Baby Boy”. Big Brovaz became one of the most notable UK R&B / Hip-Hop acts of the early 2000s and are still loved by fans of the genres to this day. Their debut album is now available on vinyl for the first time and features the bonus track "OK (Rock Remix)" and the hidden track "My Favourite Things (Original Version)".Nu Flow is available as a limited edition on translucent green coloured vinyl and includes an insert.

Man O To from the elusive producer NU is finally set to be released as a single on Crosstown Rebels, featuring remixes from Parisian producer Pépé Bradock who producers two amazing takes on the original.
