After releasing his first beat & instrumental album "Alltimers" in 2020, Berlin based multi-talent V.Raeter is back and kicking off the champagne for his upcoming sophomore LP "Sunday on a Monday" - this time released via Kabul Fire Records, also known as the nourishing home of high class instrumental releases in proud HipHop fashion. Sunday on a Monday is a sample based instrumental gem that pays tribute to the laid-back atmosphere of late summer days.

Angel Witch is a pioneering British heavy metal band formed in London in 1976. Together with bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon and Diamond Head, Angel Witch is a key part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), they are recognized as a major influence on early 1980s metal, including bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.

The band lineup back then consisted of Kevin Heybourne, Kevin Riddles and Dave Hogg. Angel Witch's self-titled 1980 debut album is considered a seminal, influential work, and to this day metalheads all over the world sing along to the title track Angel Witch whenever it's played. The album cover features an image of a well-known painting; The Fallen Angels Entering Pandemonium by John Martin.

Given the Balearic life that Leeds ex-pat Nightmares on Wax now leads in Ibiza, we have to admit we did not see this coming: the downtempo Warp legend returning to his early 90s electronic roots. He does so with a new series of collaborations with young talents on 20/20 Vision, starting with Marlon Lopez. 'Patang' is slow, snaking dub with glitchy synth patches and melodic bass. 'Cancel Dat!' has a crunchy feel next to the bleepy synths with a leggy, loopy low end and tech house snap. Wulf's Jam 4 Jamie is a deeper, more twisted version and label head RL's Get It Together remix cuts up the groove and brings a spoken word that reframes the cut as soulful I:Cube style jam.

Reissued for the first time on vinyl, the debut album by English post-punk heroes Snake Corps, originally released in 1984 on Midnight Music. The band raised from the ashes of Sad Lovers & Giants, after their official split in 1983. Led by Tristan Garel-Funk and Nigel Pollard (who immediately left the band replaced by Jon Greville of Rudimentary Peni). Often championed by legendary John Peel, The Snake Corps deserve a major recognition for their epic sound often reminiscent of early U2 and Ultravox.

The American rock band was formed in 1996 by lead singer and guitarist Alex Band and guitarist Aaron Kamin. They’re best known for their hit single “Wherever You Will Go”, which topped the Adult Top 40 for 23 consecutive weeks, making it the second longest running #1 hit in the chart’s history. The track featured on their debut album Camino Palmero, which was released in 2001. At the time, the band’s lineup included Band, Kamin, Sean Woolstenhulme, Nate Wood and the Grammy Award-nominated multi-instrumentalist Billy Mohler.

Camino Palmero was a commercial success and was certified with a Platinum status in several territories. In addition to the hit “Wherever You Will Go”, the band spawned two more singles, “Adrienne” and “Could It Be Any Harder”. The album features several guest performances; Whitesnake member Paul Mirkovich, who is also the band leader of Cher; session musician Bob Glaub, who played with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Journey, Bob Dylan and many more; producer Ron Fair, who produced multiple #1 hits.

Tol & Tol are the Dutch musical duo made up of brothers Cees Tol and Thomas Tol. In the 1990s, they gained wider recognition with their music, featuring melodic pop songs with a distinctive Mediterranean and world-music influence. Their music gives a warm, summery sound which became quite popular in the Netherlands and beyond. The duo is also known for their collaboration with the popular Dutch group BZN (Band Zonder Naam), of which they both have been of part of. This compilation album presents the most popular and succesful songs of the duo, including their popular songs "Eleni", "Sedalia" and "Recuerdos de la Alhambra".

Was für eine schöne und unerwartete Überraschung: 25 Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung von "Die Summe der einzelnen Teile" von Kante liefert Acid Pauli einen grandiosen Remix ab. Seine Uptempo-Techno-Version verleiht dem Klassiker der Hamburger Schule neuen Schwung - einem deutschen Song, der über die Wunder des Musikmachens sinniert: "In manchen Momenten, für eine Weile, entsteht mehr als die Summe seiner Teile". Acid Pauli spielte den unveröffentlichten Track erstmals in seinen Live-Sets und seinem Pingipung-Podcast (#175), und als er Kante fragte, was sie von der dopamingeladenen Interpretation ihres Pop-Hits aus dem Jahr 2000 in seinem DJ-Mix hielten, gab es rundum Daumen hoch und strahlende Gesichter. Als sich herausstellte, dass Acid Pauli noch einen weiteren Kante-Edit in petto hatte, nahm diese 7"-Single schnell Gestalt an. Auf der B-Seite verbindet er seine Kick-Drums mit dem langsamen, sehnsuchtsvollen "California" aus Kantes Debütalbum "Zwischen den Orten" von 1997. Sam Cooke, inventor and true King of Soul, recorded Mr. Soul in 1963, the same year as Night Beat, and seems to be its more adult counterpart, with soulful ballads taking up most of the album. A laidback tempo and rich arrangements lay the foundation for Sam's somewhat melancholy voice floats, creating an uplifting spirit that can mend anyone's broken heart.

With standards such as "Willow Weep For Me", "I Wish You Love", and "For Sentimental Reasons", Cooke shows a quiet emotive side of himself without losing his keen sense of melody, using the strength of his voice without overpowering the listener. Had Sam Cooke lived longer, we might have had more music of this rare quality. As it stands, we must make do with the treasures he left behind.

For this first contemporary release, the label proudly collaborates with Nicholas Brancker, a Barbadian Soca pioneer whose illustrious career has seen him work alongside major artists such as Eddy Grant and Roberta Flack, and even earn a Grammy nomination.

Titled Sugar Cane, this project revives the original Spouge rhythm of Barbados — a genre born in the 1960s and largely dormant since the 1970s — and brings it into the modern day. Fusing classic Spouge with Afro influences, the result is a funky, infectious blend of pure Caribbean soul.
