The sunshine of Andalucía has come to the Bordello. The musical magpie that is Daniel Monaco arrives with just a hint of a Spanish accent and a daring record under his arm. Known for finding the intersections of boogie, disco, italo and house, Monaco is going that bit further with Manuel Rodriguez for the Flamenca EP. Melting the percussive drive of his machines with the spirit of Southern Spain, the four tracks on offer are a journey into a sound and style that is inspiringly original. Ruffled hi-hats and smooth basslines are the foundation for the title piece. The soul of the Sierra Nevada and the warmth of Granada pour forth through Rodriguez’s unparalleled performance. The claps of Chicago are reimagined as an interplay of melody and rhythm awakens; the traditions of Flamenco married with a modern groove. Talent and technique are coupled with pure passion in the intense instrumentation of “Fantasia” before the flip shifts with “Sìnteme.” The culture of Italy and Spain combine, taut string plucks peppered in handclaps before the Only Bee’s vocals descend. Ardent, the lyrics tell of our shared humanity through the dialect of Ischitella from the southern tip of Italy. The homes of our musicians are the inspiration for the finale. Blending the decadent splendour of Napoli with the old-world romance of Granada, Rodriguez’s guitar is the focus of “Granapoli.” Bitter-sweet, blissful and sorrowful, a lone beat wandering through the winding melody that twins these great cities. Half Mile Beach Club, a four-piece instrumental band that plays soothing dance music centered around Balearic elements and evokes seaside scenes,
presents "Translusent" a chill piece evoking the image of sunset by the sea. This summer tune features a beat that blends medium four-on-the-floor beats and
Latin rhythms, breezy guitar, floating synths and groovy bass, creating a feeling like endless waves.

The double jacket design also allows you to enjoy the artistic surf photos on the double A-side.

UK funk veterans McKenzie & Gardiner are best known for their 1983 boogie classic 'From Time' and the album Songs From Time - The Lost Demos. They returned in 2021 with a fresh recording of fan favourite 'Hold On Tight' featuring original vocalist Shelley Hicks and it now lands on vinyl for the first time. First, though, the A-side delivers the sultry boogie swagger of 'Completely' with its aching male vocal and humid, throbbing bass. Flip it over for the smooth, soulful 'OG Redux' version of 'Hold On Tight' produced by Clive Gardiner who says, "we used lockdown to get the gang back together, and we've never sounded better." Hard to argue with that.

We have sourced a whole bunch of original stock from Charles Webster's very tidy Miso label. This is one of them from 20 years ago, but the sounds still have a future edge. It's deep, dubby, minimal, but with meaningful and intricately crafted melodies that bring astral energies. Lo Rise's 'Life Goes On' is the source material for a quartet of tasty remixes. Charles Webster & Martin Iveson mix it into a fleshy, techy dub with a jazzy vocal, Dean DeCosta brings more bump to the drum and glitch to the texture, and Markus Enochson strides into classic 00s tech house. I first found out about Dope On Plastic from a remix they had done of a track by Ontology (who has released previously on this label) & then later found out more about them when they had been sending tunes to Pete Dev/Null, which I would hear him playing on our radio show on Jungletrain.

Soon after that, whilst touring North America, I'd meet Dope On Plastic in person whilst I was in New York, get to hang out with them and visit their home studio. They showed me a tune at the time they were working on (which ended up being Odyssey) and it sounded sick, like something that I would definitely release on Future Retro London.

When they finished it and sent it over to me, along with some other music they had made around that time, there was more than enough to work with for a full EP & Life Energy is a collection of my favourite tracks of theirs of what they had sent me. Big up to Luca (Dope On Plastic) for their work on this EP, keep an eye out for more music from them in the future!

Gush Collective: The legendary German 2-step producers Gush Collective are masters of soulful, shuffling rhythms. Their remix of "Keep On" blends classic UK garage swing with uplifting melodies, delivering a dancefloor-ready cut that radiates joy and energy.

DJ Philippa: Originally from New Zealand and now based in Berlin, DJ Philippa has built a strong following for her uplifting, groove-rich house sets and productions. With releases on Freerange Records, SlothBoogie, and Local Talk, she's known for her deep musicality and impeccable feel for the dancefloor. Her remix of "Keep On" injects warm basslines, shimmering keys, and irresistible rhythmic flow.

Welcoming London-based artist House on the Strand to the Eastern Nurseries fold following his impressive 2024 debut, "Heroine", Ruben Elbrond-Palmer channels a sombre, cinematic sense of sound with "Unrest".

Interpolating the visual sensibilities of some of his favourite artists, filmmakers, and photographers into the sonic field, Elbrond-Palmer’s palette cuts loose from the percussive elements of his previous work, blending analogue synthesis with repurposed guitars, haunting melodies, and field recordings that call to mind the hazy delirium of a dusty summer’s day. Sitting at its core, "Unrest" places harmony front and centre, with each sombre movement rising and falling as electric fences hum, helicopters hover overhead, and unknown events are set in motion.

Deceptively simple, the resultant album is gestalt—an elegy of melancholic moments, lost to the world.

"The Land of the Sun, the Moon and Cosmic Melodies" is a conceptual Opera of III movements, inspired by a cosmogony that features the planets of the sun and the moon. These two characters guides us on a journey of light and shadow, rising and setting in a cycle of unexplored musical territories.
The Collective Move presents its debut album with a broad palette of sounds, ranging from jazz to opera, from southern Italian folk music to northern Indian classical music, orchestrating a 60-minute "sonic narration" that ends with the fable "What do the birds tell?".

The Collective Move is an international group of young musicians formed in the Amsterdam Conservatory in 2022. The Collective's vision is to unite diverse artistic expressions and musical genres, inviting diverse artists and musicians from diverse cultures and countries to collaborate in flexible and interdisciplinary formations.

Sylvan Esso ist eine Band aus Durham, North Carolina. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere haben Amelia Meath und Nick Sanborn vier hochgelobte Alben veröffentlicht, wurden für zwei GRAMMYs nominiert und haben mit einer breiten, vielseitigen Gemeinschaft von Künstlern zusammengearbeitet, darunter Arooj Aftab, Maggie Rogers, Tyler Childers, Reyna Tropical, Califone und viele weitere. ,WDID" ist die erste neue Musik der Band seit 2022. Das Songwriting hier - und in der neuen Musik im Allgemeinen - ist locker und verletzlich, eine disparate Collage, die mit Klebeband zusammengehalten wird und etwas hervorbringt, das letztlich sowohl magisch als auch seltsam ist, ein dyspnoischer, schattenhafter Sound, der die Menschen an der Spitze von Sylvan Esso mit einer neuen Unmittelbarkeit zeigt. ,WDID" wurde in Betty's, dem Studio von Sylvan Esso in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, aufgenommen und wurde zusätzlich von Jake Luppen (Hippo Campus, Samia) produziert. ,KEEP ON" entstand aus einer Woche Improvisation mit dem Bassisten Daniel Aged (Frank Ocean, Dijon) und dem Schlagzeuger TJ Maiani (Weyes Blood, Neneh Cherry). Diese limitierte 12"-Single verfügt über eine speziell angefertigte, ausgestanzte Hülle, die als Malvorlage verwendet werden kann.
