passions, about dreams, hopes, disappointments
The songs have their roots in recent decades, ""Leo""– adapted in 1994 from the
French original by Georges Moustaki – being one example. Predominantly,
however, they were written during the months between January 2019 and June
2020. Recorded in studios in Italy, France, Germany and Switzerland, the album
turned into a profound project that challenged Pippo Pollina as a composer and
poet, but also as a thinker, musician and arranger.
With a rough and at the same time sonorous voice, Pippo Pollina rejoices and
argues, chats and reflects. At times with a touch of the laconic, but never without
a fundamental reverence for the beauty of sound and the power of art, in the
knowledge that music is a gift. That is the foundation, despite all doubts, for an
ambitious, mature and coherent album, which Pippo Pollina will bring to the stage
from the beginning of 2022, culminating in a grand finale in the Verona Arena in
August 2023.

Slow things down into a full balearic groove with this latest EP on Dekmantel by the Dutch production duo. Barely breaking a sweat over 100bpm, these smooth sunset synth rhythms, full of muted 80s Italo funk, and breezy drum machines, syncopated with the warm, exotic blend of retro keys and ambience, set the EPs five tracks coastal, vibrant dynamic.

This is a special edition of the 40th Anniversary of Cuerpo y Alma by Eduardo Mateo, in 180 gr vinyl with obi, new cover artwork and insert. Cuerpo y Alma was his second record as a soloist, originally released by Sondor in 1984. Recorded between 1981 and 1984 with Hugo Fattoruso, Osvaldo Fattoruso, Pippo Spera, Urbano Moraes, Travesia and more. In this record Mateo also experienced with percussion trying to get closer to a Hind Percussion. Eduardo Mateo is one of the most important influences in the history of the Uruguayan Music. Mixing Beat, Jazz, Bossa Nova and candombe. He was the one who created the "Candombe-Beat" mostly known as "Fusin". He also was a member and inspired the legendary band El Kinto.

Bis heute lässt sich das "Universum Werner Schmidbauer" nur ungenügend in Worte einfangen, sei es mit dem Format "Gipfeltreffen", der nicht nur musikalischen Verbindung zu Martin Kälberer und Pippo Pollina, die vielen magischen SÜDEN Momente ... Werner Schmidbauer ist "ganz bei sich selbst" - man muss es erleben. Ein turbulentes Jahrzehnt voller Veränderungen liegt zwischen den Aufnahmen des letzten Studioalbums "Wo bleibt die Musik" und heute. Bei Werner Schmidbauer persönlich und global! Aus den tiefen Eindrücken all der Entwicklungen der letzten Jahre heraus hat Werner den Titelsong seines neuen Albums geschrieben: "MIA SAN OANS". Um Mut zu machen, die Spaltungen zu überwinden, um greifbar zu machen, dass wir alle verbunden sind und es nur gemeinsam schaffen können. Zur Hälfte unplugged und solo, zur anderen Hälfte mit Band eingespielt und produziert von Martin Kälberer ist in diesem kreativen Sommer ein sehr persönliches, etwas politisches, vor allem aber ein pures und unverstelltes Album entstanden.

For 'Music For Dreams’ collector’s series, we aim to bring you something a little different, something a little out there. After eclectic contributions from Jan Schulte, Moonboots and most recently Basso, we’ve lent the slot to Belgian sonic globetrotter DJ soFa. As always, he’s been granted supreme curatorial sovereignty, and trust us, he held us to our word on that one. For elsewhere Jr I, soFa takes us on a trip to the alluring and magical reality of childhood - and a trip, it is.

This double LP features both new and old compositions from a wide range of countries, all centered around the youngest citizens of planet earth. The compilation has been 2.5 years in the making, with soFa collecting obscure pieces from all over the world and inspiring young collaborators to produce new tracks mostly by means of analogue synthesizers and vintage drum machines. The result is a thematically and sonically homogenous collage of cosmic children’s music.

'soFa' starts us off with Milo Kolarov’s exercise in sonic imagery ‘Analogue Beam’, a story about animal characters, presented to us as distinct motifs of bleeps and blitzes. Next up is the surreal jigsaw puzzle dub ‘Totti und Pippo’ by Jah Limonardi and 'Die Kleine Gräfin Dubski'.

Here, we come bouncing on giant, iridescent mushrooms, lulled deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole by incantations of a child’s voice. Throughout, the record is full of these synaesthetic properties, immersing the listener in creative ways, nudging you down hidden experiential pathways.
All of the tracks, more precisely ... they were pleasantly engaging, often blooming with charming grooves and provided with a whimsical melody.
