Grammy-nominated Malian singer, songwriter and guitarist Fatoumata Diawara returns in 2026 with MASSA, her most personal work to date. With MASSA, she reaffirms her place as one of the most vital voices in African music, transforming personal truth into universal resonance.

Rebecca Goldberg presents the release of her debut full-length album, Night City, a deeply personal and expansive body of work that reflects a decade of artistic growth, exploration, and connection. Produced and arranged by Goldberg, this album captures the evolution of her sound through years of practice, travel, collaboration and mentorship.

Including 12 tracks across a 2x LP, Night City draws from the rich lineage of Detroit electronic music. Goldberg cites influences from dystopian cityscapes and futurism to space exploration and the possibilities of technology. The result is a forward-thinking genre-spanning collection.

The album features two notable collaborations: “444,” created with Jnn Aprl and recorded in her studio in Seoul, South Korea, and “Tunnel,” featuring Detroit techno artist Tiptonaires. Each collaboration adds a distinct voice and texture to the record’s immersive sonic world.

Night City was mixed and mastered by Andy Toth, with album artwork illustrated by Mark Sarmel. A limited run of vinyl is available for preorder now, pressed at Archer Record Pressing Co. in Detroit. The album will be released on Detroit Underground.

At its core, Night City is an offering shaped by experience and guided by curiosity, marking a significant milestone in Rebecca Goldberg’s musical journey.

Parallel Universe – Volume 1 marks the latest collaboration between Natacha Atlas and Samy Bishai — a bold reimagining of the musical crossroads between East and West. While its textures echo retro-futurism and electronic lineage, the spirit of the record is unmistakably present-tense — rooted in a boldly contemporary vision of Arabic pop, refracted through experimental production.

Michigan Band EJ & the Echoes: Rediscovering a Soul Legacy

The story of EJ & the Echoes represents a remarkable chapter in Michigan's music history and the early American soul scene. Its origins date back to the late 1950s, when Everett J. "EJ" Gronda was already active as a young musician. While studying at Central Michigan University in the early 1960s, he met the talented vocalist Manuel "Manny" Holcolm. Together with other musicians, they formed vocal groups that soon performed throughout the state and even recorded near Detroit's legendary Motown studios.

In 1963, Gronda founded EJ & the Echoes, a band that quickly gained popularity at dances, clubs, and weddings across Michigan. With Manny Holcolm as lead singer, the group developed a distinctive harmony-driven sound, blending influences ranging from the Beatles to James Brown. The band served as a house band in Traverse City, opened for national acts, and performed regularly at well-known Detroit venues.

Between 1964 and 1967, EJ & the Echoes released several singles on the Diamond Jim Records label. Although major commercial success eluded them at the time, their recordings later found international recognition. Today, their songs remain staples of the British Northern Soul scene.

After the band dissolved, the members pursued different paths. EJ Gronda became a schoolteacher but remained devoted to music throughout his life. In 2006, the musicians reunited for an emotional jam session. EJ Gronda passed away in 2022, followed by Manuel Holcolm in 2024. Their musical legacy endures-on this vinyl release, dance floors, and in the memory of a remarkable era.

Our sincere thanks go to author and blues historian Fred Reif. He wrote the accompanying text and provided all the pictures of the band printed in the gatefold cover. Without him, this project would not have been possible.

DJ Pone returns to his roots with Bass Culture (out March 6, 2026), a new 19-minute mixtape. A renowned turntablist, DJ Pone delivers an immersive and mesmerizing mix. Following his success with Birdy Nam Nam, he has released several genre-blurring projects, including the cinematic Radiant and the deeply introspective 1978. These albums showcase a producer with a meticulous ear for detail, atmosphere, texture, and storytelling—at times overshadowing the full extent of his talent and charisma behind the decks. With this new release, he reconnects with his first love: sound collage, razor-sharp cuts, and the magic of real-time manipulation. The mix fuses a burst of tracks into a seamless journey, punctuated by precise breaks and UK and tropical inflections. The sound design feels both cathartic and transient—a subtle blend of beats and sonic landscapes that echo and dissolve into one another with remarkable finesse. From an opening manifesto paying tribute to DJ Shadow and DJ Qbert to a rawer section infused with urbex textures, recalling the energy of Company Flow, Pone crafts a narrative that is as thoughtful as it is intensely joyful—yet paradoxically soothing. Mostly instrumental but never lacking soul, Bass Culture is filled with glitched melodies and vocal samples, echoes of his recent travels to Barcelona and beyond. The project stands as a personal, tactile canvas—instinctive and unembellished—pushing back against an era dominated by digital excess. It resonates as a true statement of faith in the art of DJing, reminding us that, even as a producer, DJ Pone’s touch on vinyl remains grounded and almost magnetic, far removed from today’s passing trends.

**LIMITED 500 UK COPIES ON BLACK VINYL** VINYL ONLY RELEASE for RSD: Rival Consoles, UK producer Ryan Lee West, shares his original score for MindsEye, the highly anticipated narrative-driven game from Build A Rocket Boy, the studio led by visionary game director Leslie Benzies. The industrial techno score doesn’t just accompany the game, it’s embedded in the code of the world they have created together. The full score sees its debut on vinyl for the first time as a limited-edition Record Store Day 2026 release.

Set in Redrock, a sprawling desert metropolis ruled by surveillance and automation, MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier haunted by fractured memories. As his personal mission escalates, he’s forced to navigate a world shaped by rogue AI, militarized tech, and a fragile grip on control, all while confronting the truth about his past. "In MindsEye, sound is a critical storytelling layer, from ambient detail to emotional drive, every element is designed to shape how players feel inside the world," said Craig Conner, audio director at Build A Rocket Boy. "Rival Consoles’ tracks brought something truly special to that vision. Ryan’s music adds a distinct emotional charge and texture that elevates key moments. It doesn’t just accompany the game, it sharpens its edge, deepens its atmosphere, and perfectly complements the world we’ve built." The score was produced over the span of three years in his London studio, and contains some of West’s most ambitious and heaviest compositions to date.

To coincide with today’s release of the game, the 10-track score is now available to stream in its entirety. MindsEye follows West’s previous scoring work, including bespoke music for 2019’s Black Mirror episode Striking Vipers, featuring ‘I Love This, I Love You’, 2022’s Netflix feature doc El Caso Figo about the legendary football player Luís Figo, and Alexander Whitley’s contemporary dance production Overflow, which was released as a studio album with the same name in 2021. The most recent Rival Consoles album, Landscape from Memory, was released in July 2025 to critical and fan acclaim. A world tour continues into mid-2026.

Besides his work as a painter, filmmaker and set designer, Philippe Lamiral Poirier (1951-2025) played guitar and saxophone in the group Kat Onoma, which he co-founded with Rodolphe Burger.

His fifth studio album combines his written texts with music composed by his son, Roméo Poirier, whom he considered to be cut from the same musical cloth as he was. It also confirms what has emerged from his previous albums, namely songs more spoken than sung and whose words evoke images, thus the album’s title – Images parlées.

A book of his paintings, Images traversées, will be published simultaneously with the album.

In this continual back and forth movement between text and image, music has always been present – sensitive and abstract, expressing nothing other than itself. It hollows out a place to tell us where we are. It is life without delay.

Roméo Poirier is working in the field of electronic music, focusing on heavy processing of samples and digital collage. He released albums on the London based record label Kit Records (Plage Arrière), the mancunian record label Sferic (Hotel Nota), and Jan Jelinek’s own imprint Faitiche (Living Room and Off The Record).

MUSAR is proud to introduce Koloah, the newest voice in the family. Making his label debut with You Can Get Me EP, the Kyiv-born, Berlin-based artist arrives fully formed: three original tracks that move between restless grooves and expansive, immersive sound design, accompanied by a brain-melting remix from rising French star Binary Digit.

The EP opens with "You Can Get Me" - a UK-leaning groove anchored by a snaking acid line and fragmented vocal cuts that surface and dissolve, insistent and hypnotic, one of those tracks that lands fast and stays with you. "Get Me Close" follows, shifting the A-side into electro territory: harder edges, colder mechanics, but the atmosphere holds. Koloah keeps the tension tight and the space wide.
The B-side reaches further. The braindance producer Binary Digit takes "You Can Get Me" apart and rebuilds it in his own image - known for his deeply idiosyncratic approach to rhythm and texture, he turns the original into a real summer anthem, faster and focused, the same raw material carrying a completely different emotional weight
The EP closes with "Liminal Forest", a full IDM statement: intricate rhythmic programming, layered synthesis, and a sense of place that feels earned rather than constructed. Koloah signs off somewhere between the forest and the machine.
Recorded in Koloah's Berlin studio, the tracks were built in different periods - which is exactly why they breathe the way they do. Not a forced coherence, but a natural one.

Daughter of Swords ist das Soloprojekt der Singer-Songwriterin Alex Sauser-Monnig aus North Carolina (they/she), die auch mit Bands wie Mountain Man und The A's Musik veröffentlicht hat. Ihr Solodebüt, Dawnbreaker, war eine ruhige Folk-Platte, die 2019 veröffentlicht wurde; in den Jahren seither hat Sauser-Monnig ein neues Selbstverständnis gefunden, persönlich und musikalisch. In den letzten Jahren ist die Musik von Daughter of Swords dorniger geworden, ein unvorhersehbares Gewirr aus Synthesizern, berauschenden Gitarren und blubbernden Rhythmen, ein Glanz, der Songs über die rohe menschliche Intensität im großen Stil umhüllt - Verknalltheit, Verlangen, Wut, Entfremdung, die Schrecken des Spätkapitalismus, die kaskadenartigen Paradigmenwechsel, auf die wir alle zuzusteuern scheinen. Hardcore-Neudenker Hammok aus Norwegen veröffentlichen ihr zweites Album, das erste bei Sargent House! Irgendwo mitten in Europa begann Sänger und Gitarrist Tobias Osland einen neuen Song zu schreiben, der die internationale Hardcore-Szene widerspiegelte, welche die Band alsbald sie die kleinen Alternative-Kreise Oslos verlassen hatten, mit offenen Armen empfing. Actor, comedian, friend of the label, Aziz Ansari (of Parks and Rec fame) has visited Third Man a handful of times, even gracing us with a surprise live set back in 2013. For years we've been working hard to find something to release together and his second Comedy Central stand-up special, Dangerously Delicious, which was originally released in 2012, contains so many great moments (50 Cent's 1st grapefruit experience, anyone?), it just needs to be pressed into wax. Im Frühjahr 2019 reisten ShitKid - Åsa Söderqvist und Lina Molarin Ericsson - in die USA, um ein paar Auftritte beim SXSW-Festival in Austin, Texas, zu spielen. Doch noch vor dem Festival schafften sie es, ein paar Tage im Studio unterzubringen - zuerst in LA mit den legendären Melvins und dann in Austin mit Paul Leary von den Butthole Surfers. Das neue Album ,Duo Limbo/Mellan himmel å helvete" versammelt die Aufnahmen dieser beiden Sessions, von denen die Hälfte ShitKids erste Aufnahmen in ihrer Muttersprache Schwedisch sind - mit vier Songs als Ausgangspunkt machte sich die Band daran, diese sowohl auf Englisch als auch auf Schwedisch aufzunehmen, was eine Spielzeit von knapp über 26 Minuten ergibt.

Nightcode EP finds UK deep-house craftsman Jacksonville in full control, lacing warm chords, swinging drums and basslines built for red-lit basements. Across “Nightcode”, “Ecstasy in Starlight”, “Octobers in Love” and “Blind Spot”, he fuses classic Detroit/UK house textures with his own emotional, story-telling touch—timeless deep house for DJs who play past sunrise.
