In the smoggy orange light of a new millennium, the young Deb Demure would take the bus, once a week, from his home in crumbling Hollywood to his grandmother's apartment, nestled in the pastel pristineness of Beverly Hills. During these visits, Deb couldn't help but notice the disconnect between the glow of his grandmother's temple, and the downtrodden, alienated figures that populated the seats of the mass transit that took him there. Week after week, he would observe these characters: fading B-movie starlets, leisure-suited alcoholics and forgotten civil servants. But one fateful commute home, as the twilight waned to the purple Los Angeles night, he realized these figures were not as lost as they appeared - there was a nobility in their failure, reflective of the dignity of the city's vanishing golden era. They were survivors, in need of a voice: a spokesperson for every color of hope and hopelessness, transcendent of gender and time; Drab Majesty became Deb's musical podium for this undertaking. Raised in a music-centric household, Deb would find the time to teach himself to play his father's right-handed guitar upside down and left-handed; an unorthodox fashion from where his earliest understanding of chords and harmony were conceived. Exploring the bins of discarded vinyl in his neighborhood thrift stores, his toolkit expanded with the subterranean sonic gems of the recent past. Influences range from the virtuosic arpeggiated guitar work of Felt's Maurice Deebank and the grittier pop progressions of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry's Chris Reed as well as Steve Severin from Siouxsie and The Banshees. He also studied the harmonic oscillations and utilization of the occult power of vibratory frequency present in New Age sounds of Greek artist, IASOS. In terms of orchestration, he consciously culls from the seaside maximalism of Martin Dupont and mechanized grooves of early Depeche Mode. Like a dualistic pendulum, his vocals swing from a preistly baritone to a choir boy's falsetto reflecting the sepulchral ambiance of church visits with his grandmother. Currently the drummer for Los Angeles lo-fi rock ensemble Marriages and having honed an unorthodox home recording style, Deb sources his sounds from a repository of "mid-fi" synthesizers and other lesser-quality instruments. Following the release of his debut cassette EP, "Unarian Dances", he also shared a split 12" with synth pop forefathers, Eleven Pond. During the Spring of 2015, Drab Majesty signed with Dais Records and released his first single, Unknown to the I, as a introduction for his first initial foray into the album format, romantically titled Careless. Written over the course of 2 years, "Careless" is a compendium of songs that have outlasted a malicious burglary of his studio, his struggles with substance addiction, and most recently, the death of his beloved grandmother.

15th anniversary of Ozzy Osbourne’s 2007 album 'Black Rain'. Available for the first time as a stanalone LP (the record was previously only available on vinyl as part of the 'See You On The Other Side' boxset), pressed on standard black vinyl. This was Osbourne's 10th studio album and featured guitar player Zakk Wylde, drummer Mike Bordin and bass player Rob Nicholson. Promo/marketing activity.

Soul Media, led by Jiro Inagaki, played a part in the development of jazz rock in Japan. This work, "Memory Lane" recorded in 1980, was the final work under the same name. Inagaki said about this work, "We tried to create this work while predicting the fate of fusion music" and it is true that the sound is completely different from ordinary fusion. The mellow and emotional "Memory Lane" the stormy and refreshing "I Will Give You Samba" and the groovy and edgy "Take My Hand". The sound that was created with his ally Norio Maeda, which looks , is of an extraordinary level of perfection in the songs, arrangements, and performances. It is a masterpiece that is still vivid and fresh when listened to today.

Canadian singer-songwriter Marissa Burwell creates moments of warm musical tones featuring thick harmonies wrapped around gentle guitars and drums, while other moments showcase cathartic bursts of energetic alternative rock. Burwell"s sophomore album "Before the Hour"s Up" was born from a push and pull from within. The record is titled after the closing track, which explores the hopeless desire for all of life"s issues to be solved by the end of a therapy session. The creation and release of this album echoed this sentiment; there was a hope that by the time it was released, Marissa"s questions would be answered and her feelings resolved. Instead, she is humbled (yet unsurprised) by the reality that no matter how many topics you address in the hour, they do not simply disappear.

The new release on Flaneurecordings by Dana Shanti with her song 'Rain' promises an exciting sound experience. Dana Shanti is known for her remarkable musical talent and her ability to combine different instruments to create a unique sound. The remixes by Charles Webster, known for his deep and atmospheric soundscapes, add a special flavour to Dana's voice. Especially the 'Charles Webster Dub' is a highlight and perfect for the dancefloor.
A remix by Oliver Marquardt, also known as DJ Jauche, enriches the release. A representative and avant-garde of the early Berlin club scene, he brings his own creative influences to the track. With this combination of talented artists and innovative remixes, 'Rain' is sure to win the hearts of music lovers and clubbers alike.

The film record ‘WHITE LAGOON’ was included as a bonus with the first pressing, but this time it is included as an EP.

Torn traverses the charnel realms of the grey area on his debut EP for DNO, ‘Taiga’. Steely beats and stony bass coalesce into chimeric rhythms across four enthralling constructions; techno and drum & bass seeping into each other like liquids in a solution, changing the very nature of both.

Opening with a solemn march shrouded in swathes of noise and jitter that blur the soundscape like the death throes of some unlucky video game character, ‘Wreak Havoc’ is an incessant builder. When it finally lets loose the chaos promised by its title, reinforced breakbeats rain down like great factory apparatus hammering out metal plates.

‘Whalebone’ is of a similarly industrial bent. Like a head full of rotor blades, it ripples with densely packed polyrhythms that rattle and whirr, new layers emerging from the churn to grab the consciousness before sinking back into the melee.

‘Taiga’, meanwhile, channelling the cold, ancient immensity of its boreal forest namesake, progresses at a plant-like pace — unhurried and purposeful. It's droning low-end seems to mask secrets, while a canopy of tangled percussion cuts angular shapes through the shadowy undergrowth.

And on ‘Stay’, the complex drumwork vibrates so rapidly around the track’s irradiated pads as to almost merge with them completely, rhythm and ambience becoming a singular hypnotic form.

A natural fit for DNO, Torn’s mystic machine music opens new pathways for the label’s darkling voyage through sound.

Marcel Wave write eulogies for tragic actresses, ancient riverbeds and concrete obscenity. Their inaugural sonic instalment ‘Something Looming’ is part trades club symphony, part itchy serenade, and part wistful lament. As their heady concoction of ‘Meades meets Pat-E-Smith meets Kirklees Borough Council’ gets prepped to be formally baptised on a dank stage near you, Upset the Rhythm and Feel It Records have dutifully stepped in to deliver its songbook to the masses on both sides of the pond.
Formed when Lindsay Corstorphine and Christopher Murphy of Sauna Youth and brethren Oliver and Patrick Fisher of Cold Pumas were summoned by northern ink-slinger Maike Hale-Jones, Marcel Wave’s debut offering is a walk through a smoke-filled pub with yellowing wallpaper and all eyes on you. It’s a chronicle of the death of the docklands, the decline of industry, of the high street, of civic pride, of civilisations, of hopes and dreams. As Hale-Jones delivers the bad news in her low, West Yorkshire brogue, Corstorphine adds the bells and whistles via the frantic pulsations of a wheezing Hohner organ in tandem with Fisher O’s rasping guitar. MW are completed by the throbbing basslines of Murphy and Fisher P’s fervent rhythms.
The title itself sets the tone for the listener. There’s a sense of foreboding in Hale-Jones’ lyrics which sit at the quintet’s core—elegiac, sardonic and piquant in equal measure. A mixture of narrative epilogues and inward paeans, her words weave tales across a broad thematic church. Crooked tales of urban renewal and the voices left behind are probed in ‘Barrow Boys’ and ‘Stop/Continue’ and are at the fore in ‘Where There’s Muck There’s Brass’ with its refrain lamenting ‘Concrete and slate shine in the rain, cities destroyed, nothing to gain’. In these lyrics, tower blocks loom over terraced houses with the same shadows that the Hollywood sign casts over Peg Entwistle before she takes her tragic leap. ‘Peg’ and ‘Elsie’ are both meditations on two different actresses with different fates crushed by the cut-throat trappings of showbusiness: ‘The mad hopes break, fragile as glass. She traded it all, for the cutting room floor.’ A snaking, existential dread also runs through the album, stated more obliquely in the otherwise poppier interludes of the title track ‘Something Looming’ and album opener ‘Bent Out of Shape’, and present too on the comparatively ramshackle ‘Discount Centre’, where Hale-Jones reports ‘On a mini bus on the outskirts of Enfield, I’m losing all of my spark’. On the album closing weeper ‘Linoleum Floor’, it is laid barer still—a keyboard-led reflection on the deflating nights out of our early-twenties.
Marcel Wave invites the listener to dance to society’s decline, and then to later weep into its lukewarm pint.

Was inspired by the revolution of the year of 1988 also referred to as the 2nd summer of love. Revolutions great and small are happening all around us all the time, and they take place in the minds of individuals.

Describes the revolution i 've got in mind, angelic bass-string harmonic notes flying left and right, Indian-vocals, sudden sped-up dancehall baselines and breaks. Imagine a hippie a homeboy and a funky dread, hugging and dancing and telling their mates how much they love each other in a nice green field while this plays.

B1 HONDA WANDERER
A man in a blue honda civic is traveling through a misty world at a high velocity. Seeking that which is just hiding behind the next bend. I made this after a beautiful misty, raining/sunshine rainbow ride on the autobahn. I had just picked up a cheap mutron bi-phase which was sitting beside me in the passenger seat. It was amazing.

B2 MISTY VALLEY
It's time to get a little bit serious, this one feels like the place where i made all of this music, the village of Ruigoord, covered in a thick winter fog. The remnants of a possible previous reincarnation of myself as an 80s new-beat producer are haunting this music.

TOPS - die Musiker David Carriere, Jane Penny, Marta Cikojevic und Riley Fleck - schreiben zeitlose Musik, die zuverlässig Unmittelbarkeit und Tiefe miteinander verbindet. "Bury the Key", ihr erstes komplettes Album seit 2020, erscheint auf ihrem neuen Label Ghostly International und ist eine fesselnde Wiedereinführung für die Band aus Montréal: immer verfeinert, zweifellos Meister ihres melodischen Handwerks, aber ohne Angst, sich weiterzuentwickeln und sich an anderen, manchmal dunkleren Tönen zu versuchen. Das Album stellt sich den Gefühlen, die einst unter Verschluss gehalten wurden, beschäftigt sich mit dem Hin und Her zwischen Glück, Hedonismus und Selbstzerstörung. Während oft von fiktiven Figuren bevölkert, schöpfen ihre leuchtenden, groovenden, selbstproduzierten Songs aus persönlichen Beobachtungen: Intimität (sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb der Band), toxisches Verhalten, Drogenkonsum und apokalyptische Angst. a collection of Ghibli film music covers; Lo-fi City Pop, featuring covers of classic and beloved City Pop songs; and Lo-fi Anime, which reimagines popular anime
theme songs in their signature style.

Amid the success of their original compilation series Timeless Lo-fi, they are now launching a brand-new series titled Late Night Lo-fi.
This new album, composed entirely of newly recorded tracks, continues to reflect Grey October Sound’s distinctive style while offering mellow and chill tunes that
evoke the atmosphere of late-night hours, just as the title suggests.

"Songs in the Key of Yikes" ist ein typisches Superchunk-Album: viszeral und zeitlos und verdammt eingängig - ein kathartischer Balsam für diese bedrückenden Zeiten. "Bruised Lung" - "No Hope" - "Care Less" - "Climb the Walls" - "Everybody Dies". Wenn man die Trackliste von "Songs in the Key of Yikes" überfliegt, fragt man sich unweigerlich: Sind Superchunk okay? In einer Welt, die wohl düsterer ist als die, die "Wild Loneliness" (2022) oder "What a Time to Be Alive" (2018) begrüßte, geht es uns da überhaupt noch gut? "Es war schon immer so, dass jeder etwas durchmacht, von dem man vielleicht nichts weiß", bemerkt Mac McCaughan. "Das gilt derzeit mehr denn je - aber es ist auch so, dass wir alle gemeinsam etwas durchmachen. Angesichts dessen, was nützt Kunst und wo findet man Glück? (Spoiler-Alarm: Ich weiß es nicht.)" Auf der Suche nach einer Antwort entfesselt "Songs in the Key of Yikes" einen Sound, der triumphierend und hell in der Dunkelheit ist, "Majesty Shredding" im Overdrive. Die Lead-Single ,Is It Making You Feel Something" gibt früh den Ton an, wobei die Band - McCaughan, Laura Ballance, Jim Wilbur und Laura King - aus dem Potenzial für Freude eine Hymne baut und in schlammverschmutzte Gewässer taucht und mit einer Perle wieder hochkommt. "No Hope" ist ähnlich widerstandsfähig, McCaughans Texte zeichnen ein niederschmetterndes Bild, bevor sie in den titelgebenden Refrain übergehen. Er wiederholt den Satz neun Mal, macht eine Pause und verwandelt die Stimmung vollständig, indem er den Gesang mit der Zeile "and here we are singing" unterbricht. Der Text ist scharf, gleichzeitig eine einfache Beobachtung und eine tiefgründige Aussage über das Sein, die erdrückenden Nächte und endlosen Tage, aber McCaughans Stimme findet eine gewisse Süße darin, durchgehalten zu haben und dies auch weiterhin zu tun. Paradoxerweise grenzt die Energie von "Songs in the Key of Yikes" an Euphorie und bricht manchmal sogar in sie aus, wie in "Stuck in a Dream", das wie eine oasenartige Fata Morgana zwischen "Everybody Dies" und "Train on Fire" auftaucht, ein voller Sprint, der die Menge begeistert und sich zum Pogen im Pit eignet. "Care Less" ist ein düsterer, komischer Spiegel dieser Energie, ein Garage-Jam, in dem ein scharfzüngiger McCaughan Zuflucht vor dem Sturm sucht, indem er so tut, als würde er nicht direkt vor seiner Tür toben. Diese Strategie funktioniert nicht. Natürlich funktioniert sie nicht. Es ist ein Song auf einem Superchunk-Album, und Superchunk-Alben sind Argumente gegen Engstirnigkeit und für Partys, die groß genug sind, um alle zu beherbergen. Dieses Album begrüßt nicht nur Laura King nach zwei Jahren als Tour-Schlagzeugerin in der Band, sondern enthält auch Beiträge von Rosali Middleman ("Bruised Lung" und "Everybody Dies"), Bella Quinlan und Holly Thomas von Quivers ("Cue") und der Tour-Bassistin Betsy Wright ("Care Less"). New York painter and musician exploratory industrialist Tor Lundvall initially envisioned his 14th album, Beautiful Illusions, as an entirely instrumental affair, "inspired by memories of sitting in a church or cathedral watching the shifting sunlight through stained glass." Although he ultimately chose to wreath the majority of the tracks with hushed, poetic vocals, his original muse still resonates. These are certainly songs of shadowplay and vaulted skies, the quiet grandeur of dusk deepening on the horizon. Lundvall characterizes the lyrical subject matter, too, in ways both specific and surreal, exploring "the doubts, the anxieties and even the bleak fantasies the mind spirals into during moments of isolation, separation and distance." Tricks of the eye, mind, and ear, magnified by silence and the looming long winter. Shivering pulses and muted bass lines tread the twilight while icicle synths and wiry guitar map the melody until the voice enters, narrating oblique moods of essence and absence, tenderness and truth. Glimpses of dark humor flicker in the wordplay but the greater sonic landscape is one of falling leaves and failing light, small gestures rendered as revelation, cloaked in reverb and spatial fog. Lundvall's mastery of nuance and negative space continues to heighten, whispered brushstrokes of the invisible and the unsaid, what lies beneath and what lies beyond: "Behind the shields and false fronts is usually a sadness. The heartbreaking reflections of what might have been."

NIMBISS were a talented group from Chicago, consisting of Barry Burford, Charles Riley, Toni Moore, Kevin Burford and Al Lake; they released a couple of 12”s in the early 80s.

The original NIMBISS 12” is extremely tough to find and an evergreen modern soul classic - it was released slightly later to the group Jewel’s version - both are excellent with the NIMBISS variant raising the boogie stakes by including prominent synths and driving percussive electronic claps.

On the B Side we present YOU AND I - a ballad of epic proportions, the vocals of Charles Riley are truly magnificent.
