The wonder and optimism in his voice, captured over 100 years ago, ignited an inspirational drive to refect this time- less sense of awe in the present by pushing their musical creativity further than ever before. This revolutionary reinvention is immediately apparent on the opening track and lead single `Oath', which poured efortlessly out of the band in just one day. A recreation of that famous radio transmission introduces eight formidable minutes of widescreen rifs, thundering drums and otherworldly synth work that simultaneously feels like the blink of an eye. Subsequent track `Augury' rises from the dying whispers of `Oath', signalling Telepathy's renewed focus on composition and storytelling. The sense of open space and weightlessness from the song's halftime groove, soaring guitar arpeggios and an audio sample declaring that "the answer lies in the future" pushes the band beyond the familiar into exciting, uncharted territory. Miles Davis' quintet formed in 1955 is widely regarded as one of the greatest combos in jazz history. Miles was recording for the independent jazz label Prestige at the time, but after the quintet's success at the 1955 Newport Jazz Festival, Miles received a substantial offer from the recording giant Columbia. 'Round About Midnight was his first album for Columbia.

Goodtunes is back and this time with a highly regarded compilation of various artists.

Kicking off this label’s second release we have Mungo Sound Machine. Positioned as the A1, ‘See You Next Thursday’ functions as one of the heavier tracks on the release. With a downright dirty bass line, crisp percussion, and creative arrangement, this track tells a story that will never get old.

On the A2, comes ultra-talented friend of the label and NYC resident, Chuwee. Here he delivers with a magical evening steamer in ‘DX Tornado’. Shuffled drums and a deep rolling bass line accompanied with funky stabs and tripped out Japanese vocals are the perfect combination to start a party or keep it going.

J. Feierabend is no stranger to the punch. Sharp and ripe kicks, snares and a thick bass line drive this clubby groover to great heights. Bright vocoders and tech’d out bleeps take this one step further. When it comes to being simple but effective, the B1 ‘Listen’ knocks it out of the park.

Lastly, worlds collide from the Berlin to Paris link-up between Natebytheway and Local DJ. Crafted on a sunny day during the Olympics in Paris, this collaboration is a gentle taste of the deep and clubby combination the two producers love. Techy, gritty and soft in all the right places. ‘Dusted’ is UKG influenced with out-of-this-world textures, fast paced drums, expertly-chopped vocals that build on the styles Pangaea and Leonce are known for whilst 'Stuck' takes a more restrained approach, taking influence from classic 90s US club tracks.

Pangaea co-runs cult UK label Hessle Audio, widely regarded as one of the finest electronic music producers of a generation whilst Leonce has been honing his US underground Club styles with the RA Recommends critically acclaimed 2024 album, System Of Objects.

Soul Station is a masterpiece of melodic improvisation, rhythmic interplay, and emotional depth and showcases Hank Mobley's ability to create music that swings hard but remains accessible and lyrical

The album remains a classic in the jazz canon, essential not only for understanding Mobley's contribution to jazz but also for appreciating the broader hard bop movement of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Released in 1960 it is widely regarded as one of his finest works and a classic in the hard bop genre: Hank Mobley was part of the first wave of musicians who helped shape the hard bop sound, a style that blends bebop with blues, gospel, and R&B influences. Mobley was known for his smooth, melodic playing, and while he didn't receive the same level of fame as contemporaries like John Coltrane or Sonny Rollins, he was respected for his consistency and lyrical improvisation. The album features an exceptional quartet of jazz legends: Hank Mobley, Art Blakey, Wynton Kelly and Paul Chambers: this quartet is especially notable because Mobley recorded with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and the rhythm section (Kelly and Chambers) was a part of the classic Miles Davis quintet at the time. Their tight interplay and experience shine throughout the record. "Soul Station" stands out because it encapsulates Mobley's mature, melodic sound and his ability to craft memorable, emotionally resonant music without relying on flash or pyrotechnics. It's a must- listen for any jazz enthusiast, and it's often recommended as a starting point for those exploring Mobley's extensive discography.

After two pandemically conditioned ‘reaction’ albums - Yay! (2023) and Neigh!! (2024) - a few non-album singles and a compilation album, a downsized and sleek Motorpsycho is back where we all know and love them, with an epic, sprawling double album, filled to the brim with inventive, organic and ecstatic rock-based music. Rejoyce Psychonaut! This eponymously titled, 11 song work, has exactly as much variety & diversity, accord and discord, as one expects from a band that has released a few albums before, and that these days must be regarded as an institution in European rock. From concise 3min-something pop-rockers, to 20mins plus progressive epics, via acoustic intimacies and psychedelic wig-outs, this is concentrated Motorpsychosis: commenced Rebis, countdown initiated. Ever closer. Ever sharper... Since the traditional 3 or 4 piece rock band seems to be a dying breed these days, and MP always was a band in flux anyway, a new pragmatic era has begun in the Psychoverse. The band has, in what one might call alchemical terms, been ‘dissolved and purified’, and is by now again reduced to the core two founding members HMR & BS. This is nothing new, it has happened a few times before, but these days they are also the owners and creators of the record company NFGS, which is now the hub of all recorded band activity, and Motorpsycho marks the final severance of existing ties to other labels for the first time in 35 years. If ‘freedom is free of the need to be free’, this is it. Yikes! The minimalist title of the album is then not just easy to remember, it’s also a statement: a new era has begun in the Psychoverse, a state of affairs reflected in execution and details as well as title, if not perhaps, in ambition or size: “Senex psittacus negligit ferulam” *. This is a time of new beginnings for a band that has spent two years consolidating and reseting before charging ahead anew on a new path, trumpets blaring (...and trumpets don’t come much more blaring in the Psychoverse than with this grandiloquent hyperbole. Good fun! ). New day rising indeed. The core band was adroitly helped by a gaggle of greats from all over the Scandinavian musical landscape on these recordings: drummers Ingvald Vassbø and Olaf Olsen, string arranger/violinist Mari Persen, vocalist Thea Grant, and - as usual - honorary psycho, brother Reine Fiske, were all fellow travellers on this musical journey. Motorpsycho was co-produced by the band and Deathprod, and mixed by Andrew Scheps. Motorpsycho are not the best at what they do, they’re the only ones that do what they do. Back for a limited edition 12” single from The Future Sound of London comes the iconic original ‘12TOT17R’ collection of “Papua New Guinea” mixes. Mixes alongside the classic 12” Original include the full length Andrew Weatherall Mix, reissued here for the first time since 1992. Andrew Weatherall (1963-2020) was one of the key DJs on the acid house dance scene and this mix is one of his most highly regarded works next to Happy Mondays, New Order and Bjork. This edition is a limited edition to only 2000 copies only.

The 1990 album Scène De Vie was the big follow-up album to her debut Mademoiselle Chante and it confirmed the singer's talent and potential. The album went straight to the top of the French charts and featured several successful singles, including ""Les Hommes Qui Passent"", ""Les Mannequins d'Osier"", and ""Kennedy Rose"". The album eventually reached 2 million sales worldwide and received a diamond status. The album also had great success in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, and Russia. Scène De Vie is available as a limited edition of (1000?) individually numbered copies on crystal clear vinyl and includes an insert.

Generally regarded as the first true 'new age' record, Steve Halpern's 1975 private press LP has long been in demand by collectors. In particular, the very first pressing of the album included an extraordinary long-form jazz funk track called 'Something for Every Body Suite' that was removed from subsequent versions. Eating Standing is proud to reissue Halpern's classic long-lost original version of the album, officially licensed from Halpern himself that includes this heavy groove-laden masterpiece. This is the very first ever full reissue of the first press album with full reproduction of the artwork. Original copies cost over $700 (assuming you can even find one) but now this incredible landmark album is available once more to enjoy. "Reissued for the very first time since 1975 in its original format and track listing, a legendary album that is considered a game-changer in music. Steve Halpern's landmark album 'Christening For Listening (A Soundtrack For Every Body)' is considered by many to be a crucial and defining album that pointed the way ahead. Predating the ambient/experimental work of Brian Eno, Steve Hillage and even Mort Garson's 'Plantasia', Steve Halpern's 'Christening For Listening' was the first album to explore what became known as 'new age' or ambient music, exploring the effect of tones and rhythms on the human body and mind as well as plants and other organisms. Originally issued as a private pressing in 1975, the very first issue of this album had an extraordinary extended jazz funk track on the B side, a DJ/Samplers delight – DJ Gaslamp Killer is a huge fan. This track, 'Something For Every Body Suite', was never included on any of the subsequent represses making the very first pressing incredibly rare and almost impossible to find. It's reissued here for the very first time, with full repro of the original artwork plus a Q&A by Tony Higgins with Steven Halpern himself.

In 1970, Akira Ishikawa, central to the jazz rock scene, embraced the chaos of the times and challenged himself with this ambitious work, pushing the boundaries of jazz. "Electrum" represents the pinnacle of Ishikawa's exploration into the genre, characterized by its intense and precise groove, where musicians compete to reach new heights.

This album includes standout tracks such as the storm-like "Electrum," the intricately layered "Revulsion," and the serene "Speak Under My Breath," evoking the clarity of dawn. The participation of two genius pianists, composers, and arrangers, Masahiko Sato and Hiromasa Suzuki, further enhances this dense and exhilarating work.

Regarded as one of Akira Ishikawa's masterpieces, "Electrum" is a significant revival within the Victor "Japanese Jazz" series.

Regarded as his masterpiece, Closer ToIt features some of Augers" most inventive and beautiful Hammond Organ and Fender Rhodes playing, on tunes that become the defining tracks of his career, especially the anthemic opener Whenever You"e Ready, co-written with bass player Barry Dean. Happiness Is Just Around The Bend was later covered by Cuba Gooding Snrs" band The Main Ingredient who had a major hit with their version. Auger also saluted his soul and jazz hero" with his versions of Marvin Gays Inner City Blues and Eddie Harris, Les McCann" classic Compared To What. With an iconic cover featuring the Oblivion Express train logo designed by Auger" wife Ella. Closer ToIt remains a high pointin Auger" recording career.

Bringing desert rock from what is probably the least desert country in the world, Norwegian rockers Slomosa are due to release their 9th vinyl edition of their highly popular and regarded self-titled debut album. The three singles and album have so far amassed about 7 million streams and counting - and with their music's international reach the band has managed to gain a following in countries such as USA, Germany and Sweden, making the band "Norway's new shooting stars of huge rock", as music blog The Obelisk aptly puts it. Joined by a love for the rock scenes of the past, the band has made a name for themselves with their heavy and catchy sound, dubbed "tundra rock" by the band itself.
