Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres hochgelobten zweiten Albums Sister im März diesen Jahres, legen Ultraista - Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker und Laura Bettinson - nun nach mit einem Remix-Paket. Floating Points, FaltyDL, Zero 7, Crate Classics und Leifur James, sie alle haben dem Song ihren ganz eigenen Stempel aufgedrückt.

FREEDOM/FICTION REMIXES is a compilation of six experimental dance tracks featuring an international mix of well known and upcoming artists. Opening with a hybrid rhythmic statement by Berlin based multimedia artist Zoë Mc Pherson (founder of SFX-Label), to be followed by L.A.'s performance duo Pacoima Techno, who bring track 9 – Apparatus – of L Twills' recently released debut album Freedom/Fiction to the Drexciyan dancefloors of their self-proclaimed genre Casa Teka, Xiu Xiu ends side A with a disturbing but electrifyingly lynchian noise interpretation of Freedom/Fiction. Side B takes the Album's tunes to another night's sight: Automatic Subject gets a new coat by John Tejada's well known and intriguing techno-sound, Montreal based Tobias Rochman (one part of Pelada) turns M.A.S.T.E.R.S. into a techno-drum'n'bass version, whilst upcoming Berlin based producer and Dj Nomi Elektra finalizes the spectrum with an acid-house interpretation of L.A. Automatic Subject pt.2. Releasing on the 16thof October, the compilation is a limited edition of 300 12” Vinyls and can be ordered through Word&Sound. The Cover shows “Autoportrait”, a painting by Mexican artist Frieda Toranzo Jäger.






Automatic Subject pt2. Remix Nomi Elektra

Fresh from the release of André Hommen’s More Than This album earlier this year, October will see the German talent follow up with the first of two special remix packages. Set for release on his own imprint, These Eyes, More Than This Remixes Pt. 1 includes stellar offerings from two Kompakt regulars: Robag Wruhme and Jonathan Kaspar.

Beginning with the punchy sounds of Robag Wruhme ’s remix, hard-hitting drum combos are swiftly complemented by reverberating vocals, as up-tempo hats create rhythm to forge a no-nonsense dancefloor cut. Jonathan Kaspar ’s remix rounds things off gently, with a softly-building bassline that ebbs and flows alongside whispering hats and warm, soothing pads.

André Hommen ’s international following should come as no surprise given his already storied career. As label head of These Eyes, the imprint has welcomed standout releases from the likes of Ane Brun and Marc Romboy previously. Another staple of Germany's ever-flourishing music scene, Robag Wruhme ’s productions have found a welcome home on labels as acclaimed as Koze’s Pampa Records, Kompakt and Mute to name a few, whilst fellow prolific-producer Jonathan Kaspar has released two EP’s on These Eyes, then also Objektivity and Acid Pauli’s Ouië in an already-storied career.

One year after the landing of his long-awaited eponymous debut album, French producer Zimmer is back with a massive remix package to make the pleasure last, and he’s certainly put on a great spread for the occasion.

Up on duty for this second round of synth-splattered, stargazing goodies, we find none other than Herr Gerd Janson in the saddle for a pair of ‘short' and ‘extended’ dance versions, expert vibist Lauer, Mexican outfit Zombies In Miami, US-based producer Amtrac, with French clique homeboys Kendal and You Man completing the set.

All synths blazing, Gerd Janson gets the ball rolling with a pair of prismatic reworks of ‘Rey’, tailored to take the dancers on a wildly fun and light-hearted space jaunt. No need for an intro, the ’short edit’ goes straight for the audio G-spot and takes no byway to get its point across - pure mellifluous, horizon-widening dancefloor carefreeness on the menu.

Don’t get too easily distracted by its title, the ‘extended version’ is no basement creeper but rather an enhanced summer-flavoured earworm that lays further emphasis on the drums and bass for optimal peak time functionality.

French duo You Man pick up the torch with an equally sturdy and emotional reshape of ‘Wildflowers (ft. Panama)’, nicely contrasting Panama’s suave vocals with thoroughly funk-oozing bass arpeggios that’ll melt any sweatbox down to the ground.

In comes Lauer’s reinterpretation of ‘Mouvement’ - a dynamic late-afternoon weapon meshing the hectic bounce of cascading synths and incendiary bass, hazed-out poolside vibes and pop-indebted melodic motifs. The result is a fast-paced heater primed for extended use from sunset to sunrise with vibrant variations in shades throughout.


A true solar-powered, mystique-imbued affair, Zombies In Miami’s take on ‘Mayans’ propels us in a fascinating continuum of pulsating rhythms, hyper-modern textures and smouldering ritualistic vibrations.

Adding his spin to ’Techno Disco’, rising talent Kendal shoots his shots with deadeye accuracy, luring you into a junglistic intro to better surprise you with his usual tsunami- like deluge of serpentine keyboard chords and epic buildups.

Topping off this variegated sonic journey, Amtrac takes us on a soul-healing trip with his revisit of ‘Make It Happen’ - laying down a particularly tasty downtempo pop jam for you to chill and dream yourself to sleep with, fully enlarged with his trademark streamlined, balmy signature.

Rahaan is back on GAMM and this time with his buddy DJ Emanuel with some nasty (!) post punk/funk disco.
The A-side runs down a timeless Garage classic...but with a gritty twist.
The B-side is just sex, orgy and disco crammed together on black plastic. Imma Phreak is just...phreaky!

The recent data dump from DJ house get the remix treatment from Coco Bryce & Desert Sound Colony - "breaks-jungle-house" in the mix! Pressed on limited 12" vinyl 300 copies Worldwide.

The Remixes is a compilation album by The Stone Roses, which features remixes by various producers including Utah Saints and Paul Oakenfold. Various techno luminaries ply their skills reworking some of those early classic songs, and it is immediately clear that the Roses, even beyond the genius of their songs, were a preeminent dance band.

The Remixes is available as a limited edition of 3000 individually numbered copies on transparent & red swirled vinyl. The package includes an insert.

In a blitz session of blood curdling vocals, disarticulated fretwork and wickelly deranged lyricism, ‘One Hand Tommy’ sees The Imbeciles tell us the tale of: Tommy; a child trapped in a dystopian landscape of nuclear annihilation with only a giant killer snake for company.

‘One Hand Tommy’ is the latest exhilarating track to be released from The Imbeciles self-titled debut album - out now. Comprising 13 imploded songs which rarely last more than two minutes, the album was recorded on tape in eight deranged days on the Texan-Mexican border. Packed with stripped-down musical information and resonant with atmosphere, the album was hailed by CLASSIC ROCK as “Some kind of Apocalypse Now” (✭✭✭✭). The band also gained masses of support at radio from BBC 6 Music, Radio X, BBC Radio 1, amongst others. The delirious fun of ‘One Hand Tommy’ is just another reason to believe the hype...

Classic, pioneering 1989 acid house track with new remixes by Serge Santiago, Mall Grab, Rebuke and Nathan Micay. The original featured Gary Haisman on vocals and reached no.3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1989. A truly legendary and genre-defining track - it was originally banned by the BBC and is a key part of the legacy of UK dance music. It was also no 1 in 1989 on the Billboard Dance chart.

studio mule’s original version which is produced by kuniyuki takahashi and sung by miyako koda (aka dip in the pool) is a cover version of japanese 80’s dance classic by taeko onuki.

superpitcher’s main mix is just for your peaktime set. it’s much more groovy and dance floor friendly than original version. it might be this summer anthem(if the party will be restarted…).

dub mix is more stripped down version and for more disco oriented dj. we love this version so much since superpitcher have been playing at his dj set.

ambient mix sounds like a japanese kankyo ongaku,it’s simply beautiful meditative music. beautiful cover design is by lily fei in new york, she is our new favorite illustrator.

Brigitte Barbu's Muzak pour ascenseurs en panne (Muzak for broken lifts) marked a bold new addition to the Circus Company repertoire. In a gilded haze of resonant tones conjured by traditional and non-traditional methods, Brigitte Barbu created an inviting sound world brimming with life and doffing its cap to 1970s signal processing. Out of such sonic research and development comes a wealth of material for other artists to sink their teeth into, and so we proudly present an accompanying remix EP that takes Brigitte Barbu's distinctive stamp into new territory.

Roman Flügel makes a first appearance Circus Company with two versions of "Dae-Boj DeMoya" that showcase this constantly versatile lynchpin of European techno. First up is his "kraut remix", which unsurprisingly channels the grainy beauty of Neu! and early Kraftwerk, before his "synth remix" dials back the drums and diverts our attention towards an expansive arrangement of melodious flourishes from classic synthesisers.

John Tejada and Reggie Watts reunite as Wajatta following their triumphant LP Don't Let Get You Down on Brainfeeder to deliver a particularly inventive, soul-stirring vocal techno version of "Couvre chef en peau de taupe". Watts soars over the signature warmth of Tejada's production, while Brigitte Barbu's mysterious tones linger in every fold of the mix.

Matthew Herbert offers up a "Butter Dub" version of the album interlude serie "Trou Vert" that pits his signature stark sampling methods against Brigitte Barbu's material and creates a fruitful dialogue of crooked 4/4 mechanics with all the playful curiosity of the original and a strong dose of Herbert's inimitable musical personality.

Fredfades and Jawn Rice call on the extended family for a remix package. Featuring material from their sizzling 2019 LP Jacuzzi Boys, a track from their upcoming swelter Luv Neva Fades, and some previously unreleased pieces, the Norwegian House duo gets the remix treatment from Chmmr, Deep88, and Hugo LX while Fredfades & Jawn Rice goes OG on a demo version from their highly anticipated LP.
Basking in the warmth of the duo’s analogue sounds, Chmmr transports Show me How to the farthest recesses of the galaxy with some spacy synths and cool reverbs blowing through Dreamcast’s sensual vocal before Fredfades & Jawn Rice tempers Travels through Air with an OG lean on the A side.
Meanwhile on the B-side; Deep 88 carve a yawning a trench for Stimulator Jones’ airy vocal before Hugo LX puts a bounce in the step of Mutual Love to close out the exciting remix package.
The sound of Fred and Jawn peek through consistently, with each artist putting their own distinctive stamp on the originals. Elements of Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop create a heady fusion of sounds breaking loose from the House foundations for this series of heavy steppers.

Up next in the Omena remix series we got Dee Tree from Minsk and four sparkling and effortlessly soulful re-makes from FloFilz, Harry Wolfman, Saine and Lipski.
