Es besteht aus drei brandneuen Tracks, die vom legendären Duo Stephen O'Malley und Greg Anderson geschrieben und eingespielt und von Sunn O))) und Brad Wood gemeinsam produziert wurden. Brad Wood hat das Material 2025 in den Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville und Sea Grass in Los Angeles aufgenommen. Die Tracks auf dieser Maxi-12"-Platte sind die ersten offiziellen Studioaufnahmen von Sunn O))), auf denen nur das ursprüngliche Kern-Duo mit stark gesättigten E-Gitarren und Synthesizern zu hören ist. Sunn O))) hat jedem Schritt und Aspekt der Aufnahme, jedem Ton und jeder Sättigungsstufe, jeder Verstärkungsstufe und jedem Lautsprecher, jedem Arrangement und jeder Harmonie extreme Aufmerksamkeit und Sorgfalt gewidmet. Der Wald im Pazifischen Nordwesten ist das Leitbild. ,Eternity's Pillars" ist nach der Fernsehsendung aus der Mitte der 1980er Jahre benannt, die von der Jazz-Visionärin und spirituellen Guruin Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda kreiert und moderiert wurde und sich auf ihren unerschütterlichen Glauben an die Fähigkeit der Musik konzentriert, spirituelle Transzendenz zu erreichen. ,Raise the Chalice" ist nach einem Schlachtruf benannt, den die Hardcore Legende des Nordwestens, Ron Guardipee, Mitte der 1990er Jahre oft ausstieß. ,Reverential" zollt denen, die vor uns mit den schwersten Lasten kamen, Respekt und lobt sie lautstark, wobei Musik und Kunst als Materialien für einen Antiphon dienen. Das Cover zeigt das Duo in den Wäldern nordöstlich von Seattle, aufgenommen durch die Linse von Charles Peterson, der für seine ikonischen Fotos der Musikszene von Seattle und klassische Albumcover von Soundgarden, Mudhoney und anderen bekannt ist.

Across a rolling nine-minute odyssey of old-school but future-facing jack, ‘Ancestral Rhythm’ finds the pair tapping into their most uncompromising rhythmic instincts, melding the tough machines of their studio with organic percussion and oscillating plunges into raw, escalating electronics.

In complimentary fashion, Carl Craig expands on the existing material for a subtle, tight C2 edit of the pair’s original material. Roadtested over the summer season in Ibiza and beyond, Craig masterfully sharpens the original’s frenetic edges, while adding another chorus of chants to Shelby and Loveless’s psychedelic soup.

,Amusing the Amazing" ist eine EP mit vier Songs von der amerikanischen Stoner-Rock-Band Slo Burn, die ursprünglich 1997 von Malicious Vinyl rausgebracht wurde. Die Band wurde von Sänger John Garcia, früher bei Kyuss, angeführt und bestand aus Gitarrist Chris Hale, Bassist Damon Garrison und Schlagzeuger Brady Houghton. Die EP wurde von Slo Burn und Chris Goss zusammen produziert. Die EP wird gerade neu gemastert und zum ersten Mal auf 12-Zoll-Vinyl gepresst, mit Audio auf der einen Seite und einer speziellen Gravur auf der anderen.

In einer mutigen, hypnotischen Hommage an Detroits ursprüngliche Avantgarde-Rock-Wurzeln verwandeln Schlagzeuger Larry Mullins (alias Toby Dammit) und der legendäre Bassist Mike Watt das eindringliche Mantra ,We Will Fall" von The Stooges in ein fast 40-minütiges Ritual aus Wiederholungen, Zurückhaltung und roher Atmosphäre. Mullins und Watt greifen den unheimlichen Puls und den narkotischen Drone des Original-Tracks von 1969 auf und treiben dessen tranceartigen Kern in unbekanntes Terrain. Mullins, bekannt für seine Arbeit mit Iggy Pop, Swans und Nick Cave, baut mit seiner Shruti-Box, Moog-Elektronik, Tabla und Gongs eine minimalistische Landschaft auf. Watts charakteristisches Low-End-Dröhnen verwandelt sich von einem subtilen Herzschlag zu einer Ganzkörperhalluzination. Das Ergebnis ist keine Coverversion, sondern eine erweiterte Beschwörung. Teils Séance, teils Trauergesang, teils freie Erkundung von Stimmung und Geist. Es ist ein langsames Brennen klanglicher Hingabe, das den Geist der Stooges ehrt und gleichzeitig die Tür zu etwas völlig Neuem öffnet: ein tiefes Eintauchen in das Heilige und Fremde. Following his award-nominated and critically acclaimed 2023 album Until Then, Danish guitarist and composer Rasmus Oppenhagen Krogh now presents his fourth album as a bandleader. "The title refers to the pillars that life and existence rest on," Krogh explains. "The moments, feelings, and meetings that form us as human beings, and that follow us the rest of the way. Snapshots that become defining for how our life develops." Musically, Pillars balances clear song structures with rich, intricate harmonic foundations. Krogh draws on influences from jazz, indie, rock, film scores, electronic music, and pop, creating a genre-fluid universe in which the ensemble"s improvisational voices shape each piece. Krogh"s guitar takes the lead, acting as a melodic guide, while the production - crafted alongside longtime collaborator Rasmus Juncker (Yör, Anna Roemer, Little North) - adds depth and texture, highlighting the album"s bold and multi-faceted sonic identity. As on previous releases, Krogh is surrounded by some of Denmark"s finest musicians, all longtime collaborators whose personal voices and improvisational approach have deeply influenced his musical development. The ensemble includes Anders Christensen on electric bass (Paul Motian, Jakob Bro, The Raveonettes), Jakob Hoyer on drums (The Raveonettes, Jakob Bro, Nikolaj Norlund), Lars Greve on reeds and effects (Resonerede Rum, Girls in Airports, Peter Sommer), Simon Toldam on piano and synths (Simon Toldam Trio, Han Bennink Trio, Efterklang), and Victor Dybbroe on percussion (Girls in Airports, Teitur, Blomsten). Beyond his own projects, Krogh is a sought-after guitarist, working with artists ranging from Guldimund to Takykardia and Emil de Waal. Pillars underscores his identity as a deeply personal and forward-looking voice in contemporary instrumental music.

Ten tracks, completely deconstructed and rebuilt by twenty Italian bands, each in their own sonic language. From drone swallowing the void to the most savage death metal, from visceral punk to a fearless flamenco twist, every track becomes an uncharted territory, a journey where arotttenbit's identity dissolves and multiplies into twenty new forms. Most of the recordings were captured by Otto himself with his mobile studio, during a tour across Italy that took him into basements, rehearsal rooms, and underground spaces, harnessing raw and direct energy from the bands in their natural environment. Mixing and mastering then came to life at Otto Engineering Labs, his personal sound-space where everything was stitched together and transformed into a single living organism.

Founded in Cologne, Germany in 1985, Pink Turns Blue's blend of atmospheric pop informed by European post-punk contemporaries and buzzing punk dissonance of Hüsker Dü (the band is named after the Zen Arcade song) immediately tapped into a new canon of sound that was foundational to the emergence of darkwave. Released in 1987 and now remastered by Josh Bonati for vinyl release through Dais, If Two Worlds Kiss is a seminal offering to the canon of dark wave's DNA - a liquid lesson in melody, mood, and pacing - each track continuously adding to the journey like a unique push pin on a map of melancholy. Defined by their dynamic song-writing, their debut added a new urgency and depth to guitar-driven gothic rock by allowing fast songs such as the lead single "Walking on Both Sides" to possess the same sullen punch and melancholy as slower anthems like "When the Hammer Comes Down", which derives its power on the downbeat. More rhythmic variety is added through beat-driven dancefloor tracks with triumphant singalong choruses like "That Was You", showing they could swing hard - as well as swirl_

Mikabomb wurde 1997 gegründet, nachdem Frontfrau Mika ihren langweiligen Bürojob in Japan gekündigt hatte und nach London abgehauen war, um eine Band zu gründen und sich dem Rock'n`Roll hinzugeben. Nur wenige Wochen nach ihrer Ankunft in England traf Mika auf eine 16-jährige Punk-Göre namens Agi, die aus ähnlichen Gründen wie Mika ihre Heimatstadt Peking verlassen hatte. Es dauerte natürlich nicht lange, bis Mika und Agi anfingen, ihre eigenen trashigen Pop-Punk-Songs zu schreiben. Mit Ergi, Mika Bass und Tomoko, die die Band vervollständigten, fingen sie an, regelmäßig aufzutreten und sich durch ihre immer ausgelassenen Live-Shows einen furchteinflößenden Ruf aufzubauen. Sie begeisterten nicht nur Konzertbesucher im ganzen Land, sondern wurden auch vom NME als ,die neuen Ramones" bezeichnet, vom Melody Maker als ,fantastisch" beschrieben und von Steve Lamacq von Radio One als ,die beste Band, die Japan je hervorgebracht hat" bezeichnet. So wurden auch viele Plattenfirmen auf Mikabomb aufmerksam, darunter Grand Royal, das Label der Beastie Boys, das im Jahr 2000 zwei limitierte Singles mit den Titeln ,Super Sexy Razor Happy Girls" und ,Heart Attack" veröffentlichte. Ihr fantastisches Debütalbum ,The Fake Fake Sound of Mikabomb" mit 15 Titeln kam ursprünglich am 2. Juli 2001 raus. Da es auf Vinyl schon lange vergriffen ist, bringen wir es jetzt wieder raus, weil Mikabomb wieder aktiv ist und in UK gibt.

Rouse and Raise Your Voice ist eine Zeile aus einem der bekanntesten Songs der Band, "Keep Hauling", der von mehreren Bands in Großbritannien und anderswo auf der Welt gecovert wurde. Die Vinyl-LP startet mit "Crooked Jack", dem allerersten Song, den Mark Bloomer und Andrew Cadie bei ihrem mittlerweile legendären Debüt-Gig in einer Schnapsbrennerei im Moselort Ediger-Eller im Jahr 2005 gemeinsam sangen. Das Arrangement dieses berühmten Arbeiterliedes entstand spontan in der kurzen Probe vor dem Auftritt und wurde fortan zum Maßstab für den Sound der Band. Schrille Vokalharmonien, druckvolle Gitarre und Geige, changierend zwischen traditionellem Folk und frei fließender Improvisation. Während die Nadel nach innen wandert, zeigen Songs wie "Beg, Blag and Steal" eine Weiterentwicklung, wobei der charakteristische Sound nun durch Schlagzeug und Kontrabass ergänzt wird. Auf "Wine From a Mug" ist Katie Doherty stark vertreten, die die Band zwischen 2011 und 2016 auf vielen Tourneen und Aufnahmen begleitete. Von nachdenklicheren, Bottleneck- und Loop-lastigen Songs aus dem diesjährigen Album "Standing Strong", das ihnen ihren zweiten Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik einbrachte, bis hin zu einem mitreißenden Set von Fiddle Reels ist die Rohheit der Live-Shows der Band stets spürbar. Dieses auf 500 Vinyl-Exemplare limitierte Album ist ein Muss für Broom Bezzums-Fans, aber auch ein hervorragender Einstieg für Uneingeweihte!
