From 1974, Acid Folk without the Acid. Robin’s Drug of Choice was Transcendental Meditation but his exploration of his own Inner Space that way had the same effect on his music. That year he recorded over 40 songs, pressed up on Acetates and Lathe Cut Vinyl. This is a carefully curated collection spanning Gothic Folk, Trippy Excursions, Echoplex, a remarkable Led Zeppelin cover and a handful of beautiful, literate songs. Lovely voice, cool backing, out there “Outsider” vibe. We hear the trippier end of Village Thing, Davey & Morris, even whispers of Tom Rapp/Pearls
before Swine.
