Another side of Serge Gainsbourg permeates this 1963 film soundtrack about ‘a stripper lost in the nocturnal world’ of Paris, according to director Jacques Poitrenaud, who cast Nico in the lead role (after her appearance in La Dolce Vita and just prior to the single she cut with Jimmy Page for Andrew Loog Oldham). Created by Gainsbourg with arranger and longstanding collaborator Alain Goraguer, the music is fittingly the cool jazz of dingy nightclubs and seedy bordellos, with Gainsbourg on piano, and there’s the sultry title track, delivered breathlessly by Juliette Greco. Another lost gem for all serious Gainsbourg and Goraguer fans.

US talent Serge Devant makes a welcome return to Crosstown Rebels in July with the three-track Hush Hush EP. Damian Lazarus’ flagship label is familiar territory for the NYC talent, where he’s made several acclaimed appearances since 2015.

Tracks A1-A3 were recorded in December 1959 and are taken from the 1960 EP Bande Originale Du Film "L'eau À La Bouche". Tracks A4-A5 were recorded in December 1959 and are taken from the 1960 EP Bande Originale Du Film "Les Loups Dans La Bergerie". Track A6 was recorded in March and April 1963 and is taken from the 1963 LP N° 8 by Juliette Gréco. Tracks A7-B4 were recorded at the end of 1962 and are taken from the 1963 EP Bande Originale Du Film "Strip-Tease".
