"Light Up The Sky" ist die zweite Veröffentlichung von SUNBOMB, der musikalischen Allianz zwischen zwei unerschütterlichen Vertretern der
amerikanischen Hard Rock/Metal Szene, Tracii Guns und Michael Sweet.
Es ist eine Hommage an den klassischen Heavy Metal der 80er Jahre und vereint Einflüsse klassischer Metal-Bands wie Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne,
Dio und Judas Priest. Die Musik ist sehr heavy und fest in der Kategorie 'Metal' verankert, mit einem Augenzwinkern zu einem traditionellen Ansatz
des Genres. Während Tracii die Musik für das Album schrieb, machte die Tatsache, dass Michael Sweet auf den letzten Stryper-Alben einen
zunehmend härteren Stil verwendete, ihn zur perfekten Wahl für den Gesang auf dem Album.
Tracii ließ die Neuigkeiten über das neue Projekt in einem Tweet im März 2019 durchsickern, in dem er die Debüt-LP des Projekts als "die
Metal-Platte, die ich mit 17 Jahren gemacht hätte" beschrieb. Tracii hat auf dem Album alle Gitarren und den Bass gespielt, die Drums wurden von
Traciis altem L.A. Guns-Bandkollegen Adam Hamilton übernommen.

Produced by Boo Hewerdine and recorded by Jamie Savage at Chem-19. The album features an array of talent; Emma Pollock (The Delgados), Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), Adam Scott (Album Club), John Rooney (Starry Skies), uber fiddler John McCusker, cellist Pete Harvey and Swedish multi- instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren. The album is inspired by the experiences of women; "I immersed myself in the life stories of some incredible women, not just to share them with others, but to connect with them myself. Each story is a journey shaped by adversity and challenges often unique to women with them all, in their own way, arriving at a place they were seemingly destined for." - Xan Tyler. Leading a dynamic trio with virtuoso bass player Leroy Vinnegar and drummer Donald Bailey, piano player Hampton Hawes released one of his best effort in 1970, focusing on an original blend of post-bop and rare groove. The record opens with a rendition of Bacharach "The Look Of Love" and offers a deep soulful voyage with the 11 minutes title track.

With the title track, "Beyond Starlit Sky", vaporous atmospheres emerge from the distance, while ghostly apparitions and analog modulations rise to the surface of a truly hypnotizing rhythm, submerging the mind deep into an analog world. With the "Live" version a mixture of themes from "Fading Lights" and "Beyond Starlit Sky" find an engaging syncopation, resting somewhere in the ether. Those who loved Echospace's "The Coldest Season" on Modern Love will have plenty to adore here, timeless in all senses of the word.

Limitierte Jubiläumsauflage der 2014er Xiu Xiu-LP "Unclouded Sky" auf weiss-silberfarbigem Vinyl. Das von Shahzad Ismaily in Sigur Rós' Studio auf Island produzierte Album enthält neun mit einer 1953er Silvertone-Gitarre aufgenommenen Interpretationen amerikanischer und karibischer Spirituals, die ursprünglich zwischen 1850-1920 komponiert wurden, und zusätzlich mit Field Recordings versehen sind, die Xiu Xiu-Frontmann Jamie Stewart im Dschungel von Guyana machte.

South-Asian vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Ganavya releases her new studio album “Like the sky I've been too quiet” on Shabaka Hutchings’ Native Rebel Recordings.
