Seit Beginn der Bandgeschichte ist genau das, der Pressetext, der die Band SENDESCHLUSS aus Neunburg vorm Wald beschreibt. Warum sollte man auch verändern, was seit nunmehr 9 Jahren den metaphorischen Nagel auf den Kopf trifft? Und so bleibt die Band, bestehend aus Tom, Kiki und Tim, diesen Worten auch auf ihrer vierten Veröffentlichung mehr als treu. Die sechs Tracks der neuen EP ,Bavarian Wasted Youth" decken vom melodischen Punkrocksong bis zum Hardcoreknaller mit Metalkante wieder alle Sparten ab, die den geneigten Rockfan zum kollektiven Kopfnicken bewegen und vor allem die Band selbst nach wie vor begeistern. Diesmal jedoch mit einem Unterschied. Alle enthaltenen Texte sind in bairischem Dialekt verfasst. Natürlich ist Mundartmusik, vor allem im Bairischen, mittlerweile nichts Neues mehr, da Künstler wie Hannes Ringlstetter, Karin Rabhansl, Claudia Koreck, Dicht & Ergreifend, Bbou, Liquid oder auch die Spider Murphy Gang längst auch überregional erfolgreich sind. Aber da der Punk- und Hardcoresektor bis auf ein paar Ausnahmen hier noch echten Nachholbedarf zu vermelden hat, hat sich das Neunburger Trio einen echten Herzenswunsch erfüllt, und ,Bavarian Wasted Youth" Leben eingehaucht. Und wie könnte man echte Emotionen besser überliefern als in der Sprache, die man seit Kindertagen spricht? Doch was hat es mit diesem Titel eigentlich auf sich? Wörtlich übersetzt geht es ja um die "Bayerische verschwendete Jugend", was im ersten Moment vielleicht unpassend wirken mag, da es keineswegs darum geht, irgendwelche Jugendsünden zu bereuen, oder die Sinnlosigkeit des Lebens als junger Mensch im bairischen Raum zu beklagen. Eher soll sich von den konservativen Wertevorstellungen "der Alten" abgegrenzt und eine tolerantere Weltanschauung und ein alternativer Lebensstil zum Ausdruck gebracht werden, wobei aber auf ein gewisses Maß an "Bavarian Living" nicht verzichtet werden muss. Frischer Wind für alte Gepflogenheiten sozusagen. Wo also so mancher Stammtischbruder um die Betonpfeiler seiner heilen Welt Tränen vergießen wird und "den Jungen" mangels fehlenden Verständnisses verschwendete Lebenszeit vorwirft, da wird umso deutlicher, dass "Bavarian Wasted Youth" etwas freier übersetzt doch passt, wie die metaphorische Faust aufs Auge. Eine grobkörnige Schrotladung made in Leipzig: Die RIOT DOGS fabrizieren auf ihrem Debüt-Vinyl mißmutige Strassenklänge zwischen TROOPERS, SCHLEIMKEIM, TELEKOMA und BRECHRAIZ. Heavy Gitarrenriffs, heisere Aggro-Vocals (alles Atze !?) gepaart mit dem Underground-Feeling der ,Sicher gibt es bessere Zeiten, doch diese war die unsere"-Sampler. 12 deutschsprachige Oi!/Punk-Backpfeifen, inklusive einer aufgepeppten Version von ,Mein Garten" (SK). Much of the creative energy that shaped the album emerged from studio sessions with the producer duo DAMEDAME* back in her hometown of Walsall, where, to Jorja, the heart is. The album is both a sonic and an emotional tour of where she’s been, and what she’s been about, in the two years since she dropped her latest offering, ‘Be Right Back’. ‘It touches on breakups, relationships with my friends, relationships with old friends, relationships with myself.’ She says. ‘It's definitely about a lot of relationships, but every song I write I can sing it to myself.’

Of the many British voices in music today, Jorja is among the most commanding, writing at a pitch of intensity and urgency that few can match. Over the past five and half years, since the release of her debut album ‘Lost & Found’, she has been celebrated unanimously across the world for her evocative song-writing, powerful delivery, pure emotion and unbridled talent as a young woman navigating her way through life and in 2021 was the year Jorja’s hiatus from music was broken. Enter ‘Be Right Back’, the holding space between the sensation that was ‘Lost & Found’, and ‘falling or flying’. ‘Be Right Back’ was born from playing, jamming, freestyling, and sounding out what Jorja had been on the edge of expressing all her life. It was a project entirely for her fans. “Be Right Back did exactly what I wanted it to do. It was a little waiting room so people knew I was coming back.”

Instrumentals JID019 captures the musical alchemy produced at the Linear Labs Studio by producers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. These instrumental recordings encapsulate the spirit of the Jazz Is Dead concert and recording series, celebrating the African-American art form known as jazz through improvisation, musical collaboration and authentic cross-generational and cross-cultural communication.

It’s a testament to Jimmy Smith’s volcanic creativity that the Hammond B3 organ firebrand recorded not one but two soul jazz classics—Midnight Special and Back at the Chicken Shack—in a single day when he entered Van Gelder Studio on April 25, 1960 with Stanley Turrentine on tenor saxophone, Kenny Burrell on guitar, and Donald Bailey on drums.

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

Original soul man Carlton Jumel Smith and the infamous Mocambo crew hook up for a double sider 45 of the highest order. The A-side "Keep On Swinging" is a slab of tough street funk with real-life storytelling about persistance and not giving up, hitting heavy on the one. Carlton's message of and positivity and encouragement continues on the flip side, "Hope", an uptempo sweet soul hitter with a strong gospel vibe over urgent breakbeats.
