In 2009, following the death of Jhonn Balance four years earlier, This Immortal Coil's "The Dark Age Of Love" appeared as a tribute to the superb work of the British band Coil over two decades.Formed by musicians from all walks of life, the album was praised by critics but also, and most importantly, by Peter Christopherson himself! 13 years have passed and this passion for the band has never wavered. Following the death of Peter Christopherson in 2010 on the one hand, and meetings with musicians such as David Chalmin or Massimo Pupillo from Zü who in turn wanted to pay tribute to this gigantic band, on the other hand, Stéphane Grégoire's desire to make a new opus took shape in 2017 with a first recording of the title "Where Are You". Just like the first one, more than 5 years will be necessary to realize this new album so that it is at the height of Coil's genius. The Ici d'Ailleurs team is very proud to unveil This Immortal Coil's second album 'The World Ended A Long Time Ago'.That will be available on December 09, 2022 in several formats that will be revealed very soon. The artists this time are Coil lovers but without the album being a "lovers" cover, that would be the opposite of Coil's image. Angis Music, label run by the DJ Samuele Pagliai, is pleased to present HUMA: the new concept of Alberto Lincetto and Stefano Cosi, both musicians and producers belonging to the Italian experimental soul and jazz scene. Already active in other projects such as PCKT and Collettivo Immaginario, they boast collaborations with international artists such as Chauncey Yearwood, Tommaso Cappellato and Serena Brancale. The debut EP presents two very different scenarios where the solidity and minimalism of the rhythms blend with the deep yet refined harmonies. ""Moon Crab"" is the reminiscence of a cosmic journey with modern funk features, where a liquid and indefinite sound mass slowly evolves into a climax of drums and synthesizers, giving life to an irrepressible flow of emotions. "Absence", instead, with its melancholic tones and electronic acoustic sound represents a perfect epilogue with an open ending. The rest we will discover just by listening.

His debut was recorded in the winter of 2003 with assistance from Texas
chamber pop collective The Earlies, followed by three albums of original material
and one all-covers album. In 2011, a near-fatal car crash paralyzed his arms for
months. He spent his recovery time listening to some demos he'd made before
the crash. The material eventually culminated in the darkest and most intensely
personal collection of songs from him thus far and garnered widespread critical
acclaim. (Micah P. Hinson & The Nothing). Since then, each record is a final
confrontation with himself, each song shakes with danger. I Lie To You, the new
Micah P. Hinson album, comes from five days and five nights of recording in
Irpinia, South Italy, with production by Alessandro Asso Stefana (PJ Harvey, Mike
Patton, Vinicio Capossela). Accompanying Micah and Asso are Raffaele Tiseo's
celestial strings, Zeno De Rossi metaphysic drumming and the double bass
gentleman Greg Cohen. On this new album he sings, with his weathered, husky,
prophet-like voice, eleven tales of love, loss and regret, which once again reveal
his heart as an artist laid bare.

James K debuts on Incienso with sophomore album Random Girl. What’s gathered at first is a heterogeneous mixture of intimacy and sore, collected between 2014-2018. As if in a cruel playground game, K breaks a tracklist full of complex soundscapes, voice manipulation, and dazzling shoegaze with a self-built noise box, stethoscope throat-voice and a cellphone recording from a fake tropical island on ecstasy. Consequently, Random Girl is a voice against infantilization of girlhood, a decisive refutal of integrity, fighting what can be understood as the death of expression. Take a sip of water before your memory error blinks. Dial to K. Listen to the disfragmented territory and the cast of it she’s making. It might not be what you will have thought tomorrow.

Before he co-founded the legendary Sunday afternoon event Body & Soul with fellow New York DJs Danny Krivit and Francois Kevorkian in 1996, Joaquin "Joe" Claussell was the driving force behind Instant House, an eclectic production outift who released a series of uplifting deep house records, several of which were spun by David Mancuso at the 90s iteration of his influential Loft parties.

In 1993, Instant House released their deepest single, Lost Horizons, through Jungle Sounds Recordings. The A-side, ‘Lost Horizons (The Mind Travel Saturday Night Sunday Morning Mix)’ is a seventeen-minute and twenty-second sojourn into the vibrant club sounds of early 90s NYC. Driven by a Latin-accented man-machine beat that marches into infinity, it comes backed by two shorter mixes, ‘Lost Horizons’ and ‘Lost Horizons (Percussion Bonus)’. Twenty-nine years later, Isle of Jura presents an official vinyl and digital reissue of this slow-burning deep cut.

The Instant House story begins in the late 80s at Dance Tracks, an East Village record store established by the businessman, DJ, and graphic designer Stan Hatzakis. Patronised by New York trendsetters like Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan, Dance Tracks was considered one of the world's best underground dance music retailers.

During the winter of 1991, Stan got together with one of his best customers, Tony Confusione, to make music. A wall street guy by day and a keyboardist by night, Tony was also a serious DJ. Not long after their first recording sessions, they invited another Dance Tracks fixture, Joaquin "Joe" Claussell, to join them in Tony’s state-of-the-art home studio in Long Island. He brought a vibrant, percussive edge to the sample-based tracks Stan and Tony were cooking up. Emboldened, the three DJs began recording together as Instant House. That year, they released the Dance Trax EP.

In 1992, after Instant House had dropped two certified classics, 'Over' and 'Awade', for Jungle Sounds Records, Stan exited the group and sold Dance Tracks to Joe and his business partner, Stefan Prescott. Following Stan's departure, Joe and Tony headed into the studio for a special recording session. “I just remember how powerful the connection was while we were making that record,” explains Joe, recalling the creation of ‘Lost Horizons (The Mind Travel Saturday Night Sunday Morning Mix)’. “It was a very spiritual encounter in the studio.”

While laying out the drum patterns, sound effects, and arrangement, Joe explained the vibe to Tony, who played the lush cosmic chords and an effortless keyboard saxophone line over the top. “That was Tony completely feeling himself,” Joe reflects. “He performed majestically.”

After the release of the Lost Horizons 12”, Joe received a phone call from Cisco International Corp. A plane flight later, he was sitting in their label offices in Tokyo, talking to a senior record executive who wanted to introduce Lost Horizons to Japan. “What they were primarily doing at the time was pressing classical records - we’re talking thousand dollar plus classical reissues - and they wanted to license and distribute Lost Horizons,” Joe remembers. Three years later, Joe and Tony released 'Asking Forgiveness', their final 12” as Instant House, before parting ways with full hearts.

In the context of his career as a DJ, remixer, and producer, Joe is known for long songs and compositions. As Lost Horizons illustrates, he’s carried that impulse with him since his foundational days. “When I produce, I don’t believe in the beginning or endpoint of anything,” Joe explains. “I really despise the rules. To me, that’s not true to the art of creation. I just believe there is a flow in creation. When we were making music in the 90s, we were restricted by format, but that record could have gone on forever.”

The 12” is housed in a full sleeve jacket by Bradley Pinkerton based on the original release design.

Angis Music invites you to listen to "Selva" the second release from the Padova duo composed of Stefano Cosi and Alberto Lincetto. The three songs featured represent the deep desire to communicate an evolution of sound and to tell a story that goes beyond traditional paradigms and genre labels. The “chiaroscuro”, lights and shadows, that characterize HUMA's music are once again the result of compositional and sound explorations that travel from jazz to 70’s funk, from deep house to electronic, with echoes of Brazil and film soundtracks. Side A opens with the misty and romantic landscape of "Free and Lost”, in which acoustic, electronic and deep bass sounds blend in a dark and spiritual atmosphere. The journey develops further into "An Ordinary Life” which sees the participation of Yeofi Andoh, aka A Race Of Angels, Los Angeles-based vocalist and co-author of the track, and of Amilcar Soto Rodriguez on classical guitar. It slowly emerges from the initial psychedelic sphere, landing on luminous harmonies and funk rhythms to reiterate a contrast that speaks of life cycles and the relationship between man and nature. This path ends with the title track "Selva" in which the synthetic percussive tangle keeps the listener in a meditative state of disorientation guided by the melodic lines of a dusty Fender Rhodes. It is the temporary epilogue of a story that has just begun..

For some, melancholy is the joy of being sad. But for A Rocket In Dub, the reawakened project of Düsseldorf producer Stefan Schwander, also known under pseudonyms like Antonelli Electr. or Harmonious Thelonious, Viktor Hugo's famous saying always applies. Two years ago, the Düsseldorf producer and musician released a 4x 7" box set on Krachladen Dub, his first release after a break of 17 years at the time. Now, two years later, 9 new tracks follow as a longplayer on double vinyl and music cassette. Even more experimental, more playful, more hypnotic and with a trombone! Monotony is nice! The rocket is back in the club, teaching genres like house and minimal Jamaican dub deepness again.

The Layers collections showcase compilations by 7K! Records, supporting a range of contemporary classical music. Duet Layers pays tribute to the first editions of Piano Layers, String Layers, Ambient Layers and Wind Layers, honoring the layers thematic template, and challenging the artists to work together to find a common ground. The results of this are something new and unexpected.

The first edition to be pressed on vinyl, Duet Layers contains six duets. The result is a collaborative record written and performed by twelve of the most interesting artists from around the world, a sharing of sonic landscapes.

The release opens with a collaboration between the saxophonist Colin Stetson and pianist Hania Rani. Divided equally between an astonishing piano line, synths, a trace of vocals and the stunning melody of the saxophone. The music finds its feet in silence and developing into a new world full of sounds. The second track slowly moves into an artistic-axis held between Stefano Guzzetti’s piano and Neil Leitner’s (Echo Collective) viola – paying tribute to the slow passage of time. Following, the Polish cellist Dobrawa Czocher and British-Berlin violinist & producer Simon Goff, meet with a dark and poignant track.

The Layers are a collection of compilations by 7K! Records to support a range of contemporary classical music. Duet Layers pays tribute to the first edition of Piano Layers, String Layers, Ambient Layers and Wind Layers. In this new compilation, each track is made up of two musicians merging their musical expressions together. The result is a collaborative record between twelve of the most interesting artists from around the world, sharing their sonic landscapes. Featuring: Hania Rani, Colin Stetson, Niklas Paschburg, Bryan Senti, Simon Goff, Dobrawa Czocher to name a few.

After Quiet Places (2020) Andreas Vollenweider has grouped his music
on his new album according to atmosphere and character: Slow Flow is a collection of pieces with a relaxed, flowing feel, while "Dancer" is full of movement and rhythm All 11 songs on "Slow Flow" and "Dancer" were created between 2010 and 2021 in collaboration with British producer Andy Wright (Eurythmics, Simply Red, Jeff Beck, Simple Minds, among many others). The two were supported in their
creative process by Vollenweider's talented circle of friends, who laid the foundation for the songs: Walter Keiser (drums), Andi Pupato (percussion), Daniel Kueffer (bass clarinet), Oliver Keller (guitars) and the young Swiss rapper and beat boxer Steff La Cheffe, a.k.a. Stefanie Peter. The music of "Dancer" also reflects Vollenweider's connection with Africa. The South African vocal harmony band Africapella and singer Ayanda Nhlangothi embody this connection. The London Session Orchestra, consisting of musicians from the Royal Symphonic
Orchestra under the direction of James McWilliam, filled out the sound.
Renowned British producer and arranger Peter Vettese is responsible for most of the orchestration. The recordings took place at Andreas' Lakeside Studios in Switzerland, as well as at SABC Studios in Johannesburg, South Africa, and finally at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Andy Wright's long-time sound engineer Gavin Goldberg has set new sonic standards for Vollenweider's music
with his work, and is able to delight even the most discerning audiophiles with a punchy yet transparent, dynamic soundscape.

IRIS sind tot, lang lebe IRIS! Obwohl die beiden Protagonisten Andrew Sega und Reagan Jones seit Ende des letztes Jahres offiziell getrennte Wege eingeschlagen haben, müssen ihre zahlreiche Anhänger keineswegs die Köpfe hängen lassen.

Mit Einverständnis der Band, legen Dependent das längst vergriffene dritte Album "Wrath" in zwei speziellen Ausgaben neu auf. Dieses Highlight aus dem Werk von IRIS wird mit neuem Mastering erstmals als limitiertes 12" Vinyl mit verbessertem, hochaufgelöstem Cover-Artwork erscheinen. Außerdem kommt "Wrath" als limitiertes Doppel-CD Artbook heraus, welches neben dem remasterten Album eine exklusive 10-Track Bonus-CD, Live-Fotos und Liner-Notes von J. Ned Kirby (STROMKERN) und Dependent-Chef Stefan Herwig enthält.
J. Ned Kirby, der IRIS mehrmals live auf Tour unterstützt hat, erklärt die Gründe für die Wiederveröffentlich von "Wrath": "Jedes Album von Iris stellt für sich genommen ein Hauptseminar ein Sachen Songwriting und Produktion dar", schreibt der Amerikaner. "Mit seinen zehn unvergleichlichen Arrangements für zehn perfekte Songs erreicht 'Wrath' aber das Niveau einer Meisterklasse. CAUSTIC CASANOVA, die psychedelischen Heavy-Riffonauten aus Washington, DC nutzen auf ihrem fünften, das Gehirn schmelzenden Album die starke Kernkraft ihres hyperkinetischen Zentrums, um diverse Soundpartikel in die musikalische Wechselwirkung einzubinden und in einer kaleidoskopischen Heavy-Rock-Extravaganz explodieren zu lassen. Im Jahr 2005 als Trio gegründet, schlagen Schlagzeugerin und Sängerin Stefanie Zaekner, Bassist und Sänger Francis Beringer sowie Gitarrist Andrew Yonki, mit CAUSTIC CASANOVA immer wieder neue Wege ein, um ihre ebenso packende wie unvorhersehbare Musik spannend zu verfeinern. In ihren Klangräumen verbindet sich sardonischer Noise-Rock und proggiger Sludge im Stile von BARONESS, RED FANG und TORCHE mit der gewaltigen Wucht der MELVINS, der Experimentierfreude von BORIS und flottem Gitarren-Heldentum sowie einem Hauch von verdunkeltem Post-Punk. Gleichzeitig unterstreichen die Vier auf "Glass Enclosed Nerve Center" auch all ihre bisherigen Stärken: Beringers straffer, melodischer Bass pumpt heftig die beiden heiß-bruzzelnden Gitarren auf, die den gesanglichen Dreiklang flankieren. Zaenkers flexibles Schlagzeugspiel treibt die fünf mäandrierenden Songs des Albums einfallsreich an und fühlt sich sowohl im swingenden Bill-Ward-Stomp als auch in der Hibbeligkeit des Math-Rock wohl. Langjährige Reisende in CAUSTIC CASANOVAs Fahrwasser dürfen "Glass Enclosed Nerve Center" als eine Art von berauschender Rückkehr empfinden, zu der auch das ehrgeizig ausufernde, 22-Minuten-Epos 'Bull Moose against the Sky' erheblich beiträgt, welches die gesamte B-Seite des Albums in Beschlag nimmt. Doch auch wer den massiven Sound dieser galoppierenden Psychedelic-Sludge-Büffel noch nicht kennt, bekommt hier herausragendes Songhandwerk und eine reiche lyrische Erzählkultur geschenkt, die jede Sekunde und unzählige Wiederholungen wert sind. Drei, zwei, eins... nun geht es rund!
