25th anniversary vinyl release for the second album from British alternative rock band A. 'A' vs Monkey Kong was originally released through Tycoon / London Recordings in 1999 and featured the singles "Old Folks", "Summer On The Underground" and "I Love Lake Tahoe". The album was integral in paving the way for A's later commercial success which saw the band having two top 20 singles in 2002. Vocalist Jason Perry is now an acclaimed record producer, working on albums by Don Broco, Molotov and McFly. Bassist Dan P Carter is now the host of the Radio 1 Rock Show. First time on vinyl, 'A' Vs Monkey Kong is released as a double 180g vinyl edition on red-transparent & orange clear with black haze colours, packaged in a heavy gatefold sleeve with a 16 page booklet. Canadian bowed guitarist and multi-instrumentalist C. Diab announces his fifth album Imerro, out February 16th, and presents the trip-infused lead single 'Lunar Barge'.

(Real name) Caton Diab creates soundscapes that evoke the spectacular wilderness of his childhood home in northern Vancouver Island. Incorporating experimental textures, folk overtones and tape manipulations, C. Diab uniquely finds the unseen spaces in-between, and fittingly dubs his creations "post-classical grunge". Imerro explores new sonic realms and is the culmination of a sound world that Diab has built up since the critically acclaimed 'No Perfect Wave' (2016, Injazero) and subsequent releases 'Exit Rumination' (2018), 'White Whale' (2020) and 'In Love & Fracture' (2021). The Wire calls it "ambient music in the best sense - music for living, which can be both non-invasive and immersive...epic"

Imerro was recorded in late July and August of 2021 at Risque Disque Studio in Cedar, BC, during the summer's unprecedented second "heat dome", which saw temperatures soaring to over 40 degrees. Recorded with regular collaborator and engineer Jonathan Paul Stewart, the pair journeyed by boat to the studio to a place with minimal distraction with a plan of "simple ecstatic improvisation." Diab explains: "I wanted to place myself in a space for creation with little thematic pretence, with the belief that music 'shows its face' as you move along. I would pick up an instrument, whether I had experience playing it or not, and make a sound. If it wanted to be played, it would play."

Direkt nachdem "The Reality Of Miracles" im Jahr 2020 in den Regalen stand, machten sich LIONHEART an die Aufnahmen für das nächste Album. Dabei beschloss man schon früh, dass es diesmal ein Konzeptalbum werden soll. Im Mittelpunkt des Albums steht der Zweite Weltkrieg, aber die Band wollte unbedingt ein Anti-Kriegs-Album machen, während sie gleichzeitig derer gedenken wollte, die für unsere Freiheit gekämpft haben.

Crank ist ein neues Projekt von Nifelheim-Gründungsmitglied "Tyrant". Für "Mean Filth Riders", Cranks erstes Mini-Album, hat er seinen Bass beiseite gelegt und singt und spielt stattdessen Gitarre auf den sechs Stücken "Rebels Of The Night", "In The Wind", "Thunder Road", "Shooter", "Mean Filth Riders" und "Hot Rock 'n' Roll Band" (letzteres ist eine Coverversion eines Songs der obskuren finnischen Hardrock-Band Backsliders aus der Mitte der 80er Jahre). "Ich habe Songs geschrieben, die ich selbst mag und sie mit Leuten aufgenommen, mit denen ich gerne spiele", kommentiert der "Tyrant". "Bei Crank geht es darum, genau das zu tun, was wir wollen, wann wir wollen und wie wir wollen. Wir sind keine Band für jedermann, und das sollen wir auch nicht sein." Der kompromisslose Nifelheim-Gründer hat das Material mit der Hilfe einiger seiner Freunde aufgenommen, nämlich Savage an der Gitarre, Motokobra am Bass und einem gewissen J. Rocker am Schlagzeug.

SAMSAS-TRAUM-Mastermind ALEXANDER KASCHTE, der Ukraine seit fast 10 Jahren verbunden, erlebte den bereits seit 2014 im Donbas schwelenden Krieg und die völkerrechtswidrige Annexion der Krim aus der Mitte der ukrainischen Bevölkerung heraus. KASCHTE weiß deshalb, dass das große Maul Russlands in der Region nicht erst seit 2022 ein Problem darstellt. Die Ukraine braucht in ihrem Kampf keine Relativierer, keine gesäuselten Mitleidsballaden und keine Solidaritätsbekundungen - die Ukraine braucht Taten und Unterstützer, welche die Wahrheit offen aussprechen: Der peinliche Imperialismus Russlands muss vom Angesicht der Erde getilgt werden. Diese limitierte, brandgefährliche 7" enthält zwei musikalische Abreibungen, die im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes kein gutes Haar an Moskau lassen, denn: "Niemand braucht dein Gas, wir verbrennen einfach dich!"
