John Devecchi is The Owl and is well known to disco and funk heads for several great EPs and his superb Concrete Funk album from 2021. This one opens with 'I Can't Stop', which is a playful number with a deep funk vocal and big horns. 'Bad Bad Feelin' has a country feel with guitar picking and harmonica that infused the low slung beats, and last of all is a deep cut sound that is enriched with jazzy horns and lively funk vocals a la Parliament and Fatback band. All three of these will bring colour and charm to grown-up dance floors.

Wewantsounds is delighted to announce the release of Tokyo Funk Diva, a compilation highlighting the work of Hitomi "Penny" Tohyama, one of Japan"s leading funk voices of the 1980s. Blending funk, boogie and soulful grooves, Penny brought a distinctive energy to Japan"s music scene during the decade. Compiled by Nick Luscombe-who previously curated Tokyo Dreaming for the label-the set marks the first time Hitomi"s music has been compiled outside of Japan. Featuring newly remastered tracks and liner notes by Luscombe, the release offers fresh context to Penny"s work and its role in the evolution of Japanese funk and groove culture.

The legendary Polish hip-hop group Hemp Gru returns with their iconic trilogy — “Jedność” (Unity),
“Lojalność” (Loyalty) and “Braterstwo” (Brotherhood) — released originally between 2011 and 2012.
Each album sold over 15,000 copies and earned Gold status, becoming a cornerstone of Polish street rap.

The fourth installment in the acclaimed Jungle Scratch vinyl series brings together a heavyweight lineup
of DJs, producers, and turntablists from Poland and the UK. Jungle Scratch JS004 continues the label’s
mission to connect the energy of jungle and drum & bass with the craftsmanship of world-class scratch
performance. Numer 1, Cheeba, Sabot, and DJ Riffz (UK) contribute fresh jungle-infused tracks and cuts,
each crafted for both the dancefloor and the battle scene.
Mastering was handled by AudioAnimals (UK), ensuring the release delivers powerful low end and crisp
detail across all frequencies.

Hailing from Raw Culture, Anna Funk Damage returns with his third release on the Roman label, delivering a record as fierce as it is intimate. Side B unfolds into more nocturnal and intimate landscapes, from Chiang Mai to the disenchanted sincerity of Lavoro Troppo, closing with a party that carries the bittersweet taste of reality.

Tarantola is a journey into the chaos of human emotions, an album that doesn’t just narrate but pulls you deep into its sonic labyrinth, giving noise back its vulnerable yet powerful soul.
