Recorded between 2010-2012, Closed Sessions Vol. 2 is a snapshot of a begotten time in Hip-Hop music and blog culture. The album features an eclectic class of artists such as Action Bronson, DJ Babu, Vic Mensa, The Cool Kids, Rockie Fresh, Freddie Gibbs, and others coming to the legendary SoundScape Studios and participating in the Closed Sessions program. Every song was followed by a documentary on MTV2 Sucker Free.

CS Vol. 2 was originally released August 23, 2012 and has been offline since 2015, the album has been re-mastered and is being released on vinyl for the 1st time ever. Limited to 500 copies.

The vinyl edition comes with 6 high-quality lithograph art prints (by UK illustrator Hannah Alice) representing each of the birds on the album, held in a heavy board die-cut gatefold sleeve. This unique packaging is fully interactive - the cover image is interchangeable with any of the prints. Remastered by Brian Pyle from original tapes. Bert Jansch was often quoted as saying "I'm not playing for anyone, just myself" and this feels no more apparent than on 1979's 'Avocet', his beautifully meditative paean to British birds. For fans of Jansch this is often the album that is singled out as his best work. The freedoms of a post-Pentangle career are much in evidence; folk rock and even trad folk give way to an album that is not only without lyrical accompaniment but really quite orchestral, classical even, in its composition. There are surprises in particular in 'Lapwing' (a dirge-like waltz that wouldn't be out of place on a Nils Frahm album) and 'Bittern' (which speaks of Arthur Russell's more experimental pieces). Featuring ex-bandmate Danny Thompson, alongside Martin Jenkins (Dando Shaft, amongst others) with sleeve notes by Jansch aficionado Colin Harper (author of 'Dazzling Stranger: Bert Jansch and the British Folk and Blues revival'). Antes de presentarte esta novedad, hay que entender que en la segunda mitad de los años setenta, algo estaba cambiando en la escena musical. Los grupos musicales estaban en su auge hasta que llegó la llamada al servicio militar obligatorio. Entonces, todo el mundo volvía de él sin sus largas melenas y sin dinero. Los baladistas sin personalidad tomaban el control de la música, según lo dictado por las discográficas. Es entonces cuando las copleras, cantaoras y rumberas se convierten en la respuesta necesaria para combatir la insípida melosidad. A pesar de un contexto sociocultural desfavorable, arreglistas y productores invertían horas de sueño para revivir un sonido que estaba al borde de la extinción. A pesar de los cambios que haya podido haber desde entonces, el más significativo es que ahora la inmediatez digital dicta el rumbo.



Es por toda esta importancia que finalmente ha llegado un álbum que reúne a un elenco de folclóricas en una combinación única, fusionando el concepto del groovy funk; con canciones que abarcan todo el espectro afroamericano de la música de baile de los setenta, con toques de gritos y susurros aflamencados que le dan un giro impresionante. Podríamos considerarlo el álbum destacado de las Rosalias del siglo XX, una especie de viaje lisérgico en blanco y negro a la España de la posfranquista. Con su hiperrealismo revolucionario, este disco nos ofrece a una una estirpe de artistas sin igual.

En este encontrarás las joyas ocultas de artistas como Flores, Pantoja, Jurado, Polaca, entre otras. Isabel del Bosco is part of a spiritual community based in Cordoba, Argentina. The music on this album is inspired by the hikes in the woods, the late-night conversations, the current readings and the seeking of quietude. We believe that music can be a medium for inner cultivation.

This compilation from 2003 includes the band’s biggest hits, including Vasoline, Plush, Interstate Love Song and Creep amongst many other classics. This will be released on standard black vinyl.
