Z Records continues its commitment to unearthing the obscure and
long forgotten tracks from the last 40 years through the ever-popular
Under The Influence series. Following on from Red Greg, Nick The
Record, Sean P, Faze Action, and last years Alena Arpels. It’s now the
turn of one of the scene’s most impressive collectors & DJs; Rahaan

Hailing from Chicago his love affair with muzik started in the late 70’s early 80’s, listening to muzik on the radio combined with his mom and dad playing their records every weekend. In the early 80’s on the South side of Chicago, he started hearing something a bit different, what they called ‘house muzik’. A combination of Disco, Jazz, Soul Funk, New Wave and Italo Disco. Here Rahaan digs deep into his impressive record collection that he has collected, built up and crafted over his many years of travelling, networking and DJin to showcase 22 of his finest and rarest cuts. Many of the tracks on the album would cost hundreds and that’s if you were even able to find the originals! As always with ZR compilations a lot of time and effort has been spent on creating these masters from the original vinyl, cleaning them up, removing all the clicks and pops resulting in the cleanest sounding copy possible.

PAF stands for Pogo Amongst Flokati, Paranoia After Friday, Performative Awkward Feelings, Pop Against Formality, Pleasure And Fear, Post-Authentic Fantasy, People Acting Feral, Punk Agains Faschism, or whatever else you like.

PAF are a trio who overgrow punk, office disco, tiredness, fear, lethargy, tears, Baltic Sea beaches, mix-ups, crossroads, house-sitting, and Prosecco into electronic thickets that sometimes grow into danceable tracks, sometimes into intricate structures of electric bass, vocals, and synthesizers.

PAF are from Hamburg and consist of Anna G. on vocals and electronic percussion, Pia A. on the MS-20 synthesizer, and Felix R. on bass and vocals. Punk by other means—where the means break the form itself. Here now is the debut LP, following the legendary tape released on Happy Tapes from Leipzig. The cover was drawn by Raoul Dóre and printed in color. A printed inner sleeve offers the chance to read along with the lyrics. The whole thing will be available in spring 2026 on 200 well-pressed vinyl records.

Massive vocal driven Garage House pressure here, from way way back in 1992! Yes, 'Follow Me' is one of THOSE records, one that transcended genre boundaries on it's release and continues to do so today. A true classic piece of NYC goodness from back in the day. The super production team of DJ Pierre and george Morel could only deliver the heat and that's exactly what they did - created a timeless House record with the bassline that just doesn't let up! This is the sort of track that got hammered on the US House scene, found a home in the UK Garage world and got spin at almost any and all clubs where the DJ's had half a clue and an iota of taste! Containing the original 3 mixes released in '92 now's your chance to bag a bonafide, hands down classic record! 'Follow Me' has been skilfully remastered from all original master sources and fully licensed and reissued officially for 2017.

If you don't know this record it's possible you've been in a coma, living in a cave with no electricity or have literally just arrived here on planet earth. Either way, once you hear 'Higher State Of Consciousness' you certainly won't forget it. Produced by Philly's legendary Josh Wink and released by the forward thinking A&R team at Strictly. At the time there was very little to nothing that even came close to this release. The 'Tweekin Acid Funk' mix being the highlight and the version that caught everyone's ears and captured minds worldwide across radio-waves with endless rewinds on MTV and in the clubs. Foreseeing the impending 'Breaks' boom that came around in the mid to late 90's 'Higher State...' was one of those rare moments where a record truly transcends genre boundaries and found it's way into DJ's boxes and bags on every scene. A mighty, evergreen slab of wigged out, acidic, breakbeat chaos. Essential. This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 3 mixes, unedited, as per the original release way back when. Trickpony rightfully return with their sensual sophomore record, a six track tip of downtempo anthems elaborating on the sonic blueprint established through Pillow Talk (STEP11). Contemporary trip hop revivalists at the core; the trio specialise in new age pop collages, stripped, subbed and dubbed for your pleasure. With whispered secrets tangled over atmospheric decay and hooks that tug at heartstrings, the trickpony DNA is embedded deep in the musical discourse; “24/7 Heaven” elevates even the most devious to a divine higher place.

From top to tail slung breaks crash like waves, rolling and seeping into opulent synthesis which fills the room. Sometimes music can say a thousand words without a single lyric; Ripple and Trick Trick fixating on textural constructions, layers of harmonic delight working in unison with forward thinking percussion patterns. Angel and No/Direction delve deeper into a more sparse, stripped back landscape; delayed fragments with room to breathe between vocal stylings that will lodge themselves into your memory one word at a time.

Closing with a psychedelic exploration, Memphis Light derails structure formula and drum&bass starts to feel technicolour. With an understated maturity exuding from all angles, STEP17 offers an introspective assortment of illustrious songs ready to reach into your subconscious.

Calibre steps up with two outstanding reworks of jazz/hip-hop/funk legends Brooklyn Funk Essentials’ ’Take The L Train (to 8th Ave.)'.

The A-side is vintage Calibre: crisp breaks, deep subs, silky musicality - a pure, rolling DnB number. Flip it over and he drifts into a lush ambient dub version, stretching the original into a drifting, atmospheric gem.

He has been closing his set with this record since and it has recently found its way into the sets of Moodyman, Fabio, Marky and Goldie.

Creaked out of an eck with two heads and no brain - just fracking around. Juli Zimmer and Sayizan Stange are Blowjobs Are Real Jobs, crawling right under your skin. Armed with guitar, MS-20 and a trashy drum machine, they bark about dogs, ostriches, stolen bodies, heads buried in sand, plastic spoons in freezer pops, and the big question of where the hell this whole loving-living thing is going anyway. The songs build up expectations like a delicious drink, which then, oops, gets taken away and never delivered. That’s how it is sometimes, you little puffball!

End of 2025, Blowjobs Are RealJobs dropped their first DIY tape, Bloody Situation Menstruation Masturbation. Their notorious sets, somewhere between performance art and riot gig, pop up almost monthly: gallery openings, summer garden chaos, or grimy St. Pauli basement bars. Now the duo’s first 7-inch vinyl brings 5 songs at 45 rpm with a fold-out cover, limited to 200 copies.

Dam Swindle x Salsoul Reworks

Dutch duo Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets, better known as Dam Swindle, are the latest in a line of decorated contemporary producers taking on rework duties for legendary New York disco label, Salsoul Records. Comprised of four tracks split into two volumes, the pair provide fresh takes on a number of Salsoul hits, including the classic ‘Let No Man Put Asunder’ by First Choice and Double Exposure’s ‘Everyman’. There’s some funky edits of tracks by Kebekelektrik and Kongas, wrapping up an essential Reworks package courtesy of one dance music’s premier acts.

Limited to 300 copies. Yellow Vinyl. Approaching Doom is the third album by Monsternaut, a darker and heavier representation of the band's established devotion to groovy riffs and to the point compositions. The songs took shape over several years, during which the arrival of a new drummer opened the door to more adventurous rhythms and riff ideas, pushing the band into new territory while staying true to their roots. Sonically, the album leans toward the grit and weight of early 90s metal rather than polished modern production, giving it a raw and immediate edge. Its lyrics and atmosphere follow a naturally darker direction as well, adding an extra layer of tension beneath the grooves. Recorded entirely the old fashioned way, straight to analog tape with no digital editing, it captures the band playing as they are, relying on performance, chemistry, and feel rather than correction. The result is a record that hits harder, feels more focused, and marks a confident new chapter in Monsternaut's evolution.

The new album sounds huge, with of a great deal of attention paid to the guitars in the recording, and it seems that the band has finally found the perfect balance and tone for their heavy super stoner sound! This album gives you not only incredible heavy rock-stoner gems, but also: one space acoustic song, one super psychedelic suite and one melodic trippy ballad that adds a perfect mixture of what is sure to be the best album released by the band so far! "Superskull" has been recorded by Fabio Sforza (the same producer of the last two recordings), in May 2022, and after much work and effort by the band in mixing and mastering, the album will see the light of day one year later. The incredible artwork has been delivered by the brazilian artist Pedro Correa.

This new EP on OCD is once again another project into which we’ve poured all our love and attention, carefully working with the artist to compile a release that would, at least in our vision, stand the test of time.

Our friend Harsh (Reformed Society) caught our attention through his outstanding double EP on Basic Moves. A subsequent, very synchronistic real-life encounter with him in Barcelona led to this EP, which pays homage to the early 2000s Progressive House era.

This era played an important role in our musical journey, as it did in Harsh’s own. Within this project, he fuses the influences of that time with his own refined taste, resulting in three tracks that could easily pass as unreleased material unearthed from old dusty DATs from that era.

DJ Serviced Records is made by DJs, for DJs, and curated with love by DJ Service. This second release is a solo EP from the ever-creative Brian Topham, a.k.a. Papolious Jones. Born from the pulse of his live shows, it channels his signature groove — soulful, spontaneous, and irresistibly rhythmic.

"Holy Shit" ist Nebulas erste LP seit "Heavy Psych" (2009), und beantwortet schnell die Frage die sich stellte, seitdem Gitarrist/Sänger Eddie Glass, Bassist Tom Davies und Schlagzeuger Michael Amster 2017 die Reformierung der Band angekündigt haben: Nebula sind immer noch Nebula. Seit den Tagen der 1998er Let it Burn EP und dem mittlerweile klassischen To the Center Debütalbum waren Nebula immer nur ein wenig gefährlicher. Nur etwas mehr aus den Angeln gehoben. Holy Shit zeigt diesen von vorne nach hinten für den wesentlichen Teil ihres Charakters, der er ist, und doch versucht er nicht, etwas zu sein, was sie schon einmal getan haben, sei es bei diesen frühen Ausflügen oder Heavy Psych or Charged (2001), Apollo (2003) oder Atomic Ritual (2005). Es ist ein sechstes Nebula-Album - etwas, worauf selbst die leidenschaftlichsten Fans kaum gehofft hätten. Die Grundtracks wurden in zwei Tagen aufgenommen, aufgenommen in den Mysterious Mammal Studios in L.A. mit Matt Lynch (ebenfalls von Snail) am Steuer. Leads und Loops und Feedback-Effekte wurden von Glass and Davies live aufgenommen, als sie die Basic-Tracks aufnahmen, genau so, wie sie es auf der Bühne tun würden, und Overdubs folgten bei Bedarf. Eine Fülle von Material wurde produziert und auf den Kern dessen, was man hier hört, reduziert. Ein sechstes Nebelalbum. “I don’t get the opportunity to play a full set at 170 very often. When I do, I feel very responsible for doing my research well, as I come from a different background musically. This is a recording of a special night at Ormside where I played a lot of favourites from four decades.”

Scopeotaku’s latest is a continuation of themes he explored in System Failure. Mutating into darker dimensions, influenced by recent world events. reality error is steeped in strangled synths, tape hiss and distorted echoes. Featuring crushed low-tech rhythms and recordings inspired by science fiction B-movies. Scopeotaku seizes the means of production with full on DiY approach. Setting out to soundtrack a dystopian society that has lost touch with the soul of humanity. A world where corporate greed and disruptive extremist views amplified by echo chambers soaked in misinformation drown the voices of reason and compassion. Within this murky swamp however lies a glimmer of light and hope for us all to not accept the future but to shape it.
