With their upcoming album "Where Are We Runnin" the German/English Alt Pop band "Mad Hatter's Daughter" have gone all in with a two pronged marketing strategy targeting the UK & GSA markets with their authentically rich and evocative songwriting. The UK team is rapidly growing to catch up with the German side with the latest addition of Grammy nominated engineer & producer Jeremy Murphy (Adele, Mumford & Sons, Emeli Sandé), the band are on an upward trajectory toward the international success they have set out for.

Satiric glam band Steel Panther are known for their ridiculous concepts and hilarious lyrics, in combination with skilful musicianship. Their dedication to the concept caught on quickly and resulted in endless sold-out shows and commercial success. In 2011 they released their second studio album Balls Out, which features guest appearances by Chad Kroeger, Nuno Bettencourt and Dane Cook. Subtlety is not what this album is about, with titles such as “Supersonic Sex Machine”, “It Won’t Suck Itself” and “Let Me Cum In”. The album was even indexed in Germany and is only allowed to be sold to adults after request.

Es gibt eine Dub-Serie die seit Jahren für Furore sorgt, und das seit der VÖ der "KING SIZE DUB 1" (damals in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kult-Magazin SPEX) im Jahre 1994! In der Serie gab es immer wieder Ausflüge zu obskursen Zählweisen (Vol.69) und Specials über bestimmte Regionen (Dub In Germany), Labels (ON-U Sound Records aus London) oder Bands (Dubmatix aus Toronto)! Wunderbar, dass nun mit KSD 25 eine weitere Compilation der Reihe Dub als vielschichtige Kunst des Klangmischens darstellt. Im Rahmen dieser Ausgabe dubben sich alte und neue Freunde des Hauses Echo Beach gegenseitig oder präsentieren eigene Versionen von Pop- und Reggae-Hits von u.a. Ramones, Bob Marley, Blondie, Robert Palmer und David Bowie. Die Musik suggeriert Sonnenschein und Sound Systems, heissen Sand und coole Drinks, der Bass schlurft gelassen aber auch aufreizend rebellisch. Dub ist die Kunst des Disk Jockeys, den sie zunächst in Jamaika zum Star erhoben haben. In den Fünfzigern waren dort Musikmobile, die "Sound Systems", der Ersatz für fehlende Radiosender. Die auf Exklusivität bedachten DJs nahmen ihre Hitsingles bald selbst auf, mit instrumentalen Rückseiten für Ulk und Ansagen. Ende der Sechziger verselbständigte sich dieser Dub durch den technischen Fortschritt. King Tubby und Lee "Scratch" Perry spielten mit Hall, Echo und rückläufigen Bändern. Dub löste sich von Jamaika, ging nach New York oder London, wo er in seiner Militanz gut zum Punk passte.

Am Freitag, den 13. Mai gilt es erneut die Tanzschuhe auszupacken: Florence + The Machine veröffentlichen ihr neues Album „Dance Fever“!

Mit 14 brandneuen Songs wirbelt Frontsängerin Florence Welch sich in die Ohren und Herzen von Fans und erkundet in dem Album die pandemiebedingte Sehnsucht nach dem kollektiven Miteinander in Clubs und Festivals, gesellschaftliche Stereotypen und dem Tanzen. Das historische Phänomen der „Choreomanie“, auch bekannt als „Tanzwut“, in welcher sich große Menschenmengen im Spätmittelalter bis zur Erschöpfung oder gar zum Tode dem Tanz hingaben war eine besondere Inspiration für die Frontfrau, die aufgrund der Pandemie mal einen heißersehnte und dann doch schreckliche Pause im ordentlich gefüllten Touring-Kalender erdulden musste.

Weiter inspiriert von Horrorfilmen wie „The Wicker Man“, „The Witch“ und „Midsommar“, sowie düsteren Gothic Fiction-Texten erschuf sie zusammen mit der Regisseurin Autumn de Wilde eine magische, nahezu ekstasische Welt.

Das Album wurde produziert von dem sechsfachen GRAMMY Gewinner Jack Antonoff (Bleachers), Dave Bayley (Glass Animals) der zuletzt mit „Heat Waves“ die deutschen Charts eroberte und Florence selbst. „Dance Fever“ erscheint als CD, Deluxe CD und 2LP.

Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson return to the Go Deep label for their third album, ‘This Bit of Earth’. Beginning work in the relative normality of 2019 and finishing over the strange summer of 2020, the resulting music mirrors the thoughts that such upheaval brings out - our world and our place in it - while also functioning as a kind of travelogue of journeys past and planned, real and imaginary.

Mixing samples with modular synths, programmed drums with jazz loops, and quirky plugins with outboard gear, the album ranges far and wide while retaining a warm, natural core sound.

The title track opens proceedings on an ambiguous note. A simple double bass motif weaves around a misheard vocal sample, layers of piano and vibraphone take up the call, and the whole thing gradually spins off axis to a distorted, disjointed finish. ‘Suburban Key’ follows on a groove of busy drum work and deep sub bass, the stately piano and strings setting the stage for an undulating synth solo.

Further in, ‘Alice on Jupiter’ takes a deep breath and blends field recordings, gently swelling pads, modular bursts and a recurring picked melody.

‘Back Trace Dub’ strolls the imagined streets of Irish author Kevin Barry’s ‘City of Bohane’, noting the “taint of badness” in the air and revelling in the tense, dub-noir atmosphere. Later on, the spoken word intro of ‘I Could See’ expresses the dread of confinement and the relief and ecstasy of release, a theme the music reflects as it steadily builds to a joyful climax.

And closing the album on an optimistic note, the languid, emotional Culatra Ferry remembers better, beautiful days in the sun and looks hopefully forward to more.

Federico Albanese is a composer born in Milan, Italy in 1982, and currently based in Berlin. His musical versatility is a natural gift that pushes him to explore music in all its facets. Albanese's compositions are airy and cinematic, blending classical music, electronics and psychedelia. Federico started studying piano and clarinet as a child before becoming fascinated by rock music. As a teenager he studied bass and became a self-taught guitarist and soon became one of the leading figures of Milan's underground scene, performing in several bands. Influenced by black music, folk, electronic, modern and contemporary classical music his skills as a composer soon emerged, He worked for 5 years as prop man in several film sets. This experience made him understand the power of the connection between music and images and helped him to develop his personal musical path. In 2007 Albanese met singer and songwriter Jessica Einaudi and together they founded the avant-garde duo ""La Blanche Alchimie"". Composing songs with Jessica he rediscovered his love for the piano, which from that moment on, became his main instrument. Since then Federico has scored several films, short films and documentaries, including a documentary on a project commissioned by Ermenegildo Zegna in the National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome. In February 2014, Federico Albanese will release his debut album entitled ""The Houseboat and the Moon"". He found a place, an imaginary place, where, whenever he wanted to, he could jump on and just float away. On this moving shelter, traveling across memories and imagination, lulled by water and led by the moon, Federico wrote the 13 compositions of his debut. He recorded all of the piano parts with a 1969 German tape recorder, the Uher Royal Deluxe, which allowed him to catch all of the tiny hidden shades, the imperfections, the noises of the piano and its surrounding space. Federico melts this rarefied sound with electronics, live recordings, strings, and homemade instruments. Savage is the original ‘80s Italodisco pop star, worldwide famous singer and platinium record producer of Europop and house artists such as Zucchero, Alexia, Double You and Ice Mc. Composer and writer of various multimillion worldwide hits. His real name is Roberto Zanetti. Throughout his career he has used two different professional names, "Robyx" as a producer, and "Savage" as an artist.In 1983 he produced a dance single entitled "Don’t cry tonight", chose the stage name “Savage” and started his career as solo artist. The song was a huge hit in Italy for first and all Europe later and was invited to take part in many TV shows such as "Mister fantasy", "Discoring", "Pronto Raffaella", "Azzurro" and "Festivalbar".

Thanks to the catchy melody and timbre of his voice, Savage quickly
became one of the most appreciated singers in Europe, one of the creators of the “Italodisco” movement. From 1983-85 Savage was continuously on tour, performing about 300 shows throughout Europe, in Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Sweden and, of course, Italy. In the meantime other singles, "Only you", "Radio" and "A love again", were released and included in his first album “Tonight". In Eastern Europe Savage is still one of the most popular contemporary artists. After more than 30 years, DWA is proud to announce the re-print of this album on vinyl, a special gift to all collectors of Italodisco’s hits.

DAF (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft) is an influential German electropunk band from Düsseldorf (Germany). The band claimed not to target anything while writing lyrics, but to surround around Delgado-López’s fascination with the sound of particular words. While recording their album Für Immer, the band split up. After four years the band got back together and released 1st Step To Heaven , which was (and still is) their only album in English. DAF received a lot of acclaim after this release. John Peel called them “the Grandfathers of Techno” and House music pioneer Adonis stated that the album was “House before there was House”.

In the constant state of flux that house and techno are in since their inception, Berlin’s Sascha Funke is at once a fixture and an emblem of the city’s transformations. Probably best-known for his work on BPitch, Kompakt or the evergreen MZ, Funke’s EP for Running Back is an amalgamation of sounds, influences and atmospheres. Subdued rave euphoria, robotic disco-influenced techno-pop and hints of Berlin’s long gone „Dubmission“ party ethics get re-arranged, extracted and reconfigured with „German engineering“ values.
Take the ritual QAM for instance. Using a sample and the legendary morse melody of the weather forecast at the end of each „Tagesschau“ and putting it in a completely different context, is a prime example of a free-form approach to making music and making nostalgia future-proof.
That also holds true for the rest of the EP. While titles like FEZ (Freizeit- und Erholungszentrum) or SEZ (Sport- und Erholungszentrum) refer to lost places in East Berlin, the tracks are anything but. Yearning, precisely programmed and full of joie de vivre at the same time, they all lock into and complement each other. So much, that you will find a new favorite with every listen.

A unique talent with a remarkable voice, the German singer, composer
and lyricist Alma Naidu is an artist such as one rarely fnds, Jazzthing
magazine praised her "delicate, wonderfully clear voice with absolutely perfect intonation".

Renowned drummer and producer Wolfgang Haffner recognised her talent immediately; he discovered Alma for himself in 2019 and featured the Munich native on his album 'Kind of Tango'. "When I heard Alma for the first time at a jam session in early 2019, I was immediately inspired by her musicality and her way of performing on stage," says Haffner. " Alma is a very special talent with a strong
musical voice of her own."

With Alma now comes the promising debut on the Leopard Records label.
Recorded in Bonn during the pandemic (November 2020, March and April 2021) and produced by Haffner with guests Dominic Miller, Nils Landgren, Simon Oslender and others, this debut work of the 25-year old Naidu could just as well bear the title: A Star Is Born.

Iconic female fronted metal band from The Netherlands. Formed in the late 90s by the later Epica founder Mark Jansen. The band split up shortly after their eponymous self-titled album “After Forever” in 2008. Keyboard player Joost Van Den Broek became a famous producer for Epica, Blind Guardian and many more, while singer Floor Jansen joined Nightwish and recently also the German TV show Sing Meinen Song (Sing My Song). Fans never forgot After Forever and even if their last album came out in the pre-streaming days, it gained over 15 million streams.
The re-issue of their swansong “After Forever” (2007) is remastered by Joost Van Den Broeck and includes liner notes by all bandmembers, as well as the two rare Japanese bonus tracks: the beautiful piano ballad "Lonely" and "Sweet Enclosure" which keeps their high standard of progressive symphonic metal with an oriental flavor and catchy melodies.

In the years since their formation, WhoMadeWho have established themselves as one of the most important underground bands of their generation. The Danish group, consisting of Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfod and Jeppe Kjellberg, has an exceptional sense of emotional depth, heartbreaking melodies and brilliant songwriting, boasting an expansive discography currently spanning a total of six albums and a plethora of EPs, singles and remixes released on labels such as Kompakt, Innervisions and Life & Death. The in-demand Scandinavian outfit now confirm details of their upcoming long player, UUUU. Set for worldwide release on Friday, May 27, via long standing German record label Embassy One, UUUU is the seventh full-length studio album from WhoMadeWho. A beautifully crafted record featuring thirteen original productions.

Running Wild were formed in Hamburg in 1976 and have become one of the most vital and influential heavy metal bands to come out of Germany. They are also credited with inventing the now infamous sub-genre, ‘Pirate Metal’ which is so popular today. The band still command a rabid, global fanbase too, the recent Noise reissue series saw all nine chart in the German album charts. To this day they still headline huge indoor shows and headline festivals.
