Ambient techno exponent, A Sagittariun, fires off another full-length album transmission this April on his own Elastic Dreams label. 'Elasticity' is the Bristol based artist's second long player, and the follow up to his acclaimed 2013 debut, 'Dream Ritual'. Having last released a trio of singles in early 2015 (for Hypercolour, Secret Sundaze and Elastic Dreams), 'Elasticity' marks a return for A Sagittariun, and fans of the slippery and elastic sounds that hallmarked his debut album will not be disappointed. 'Dream Ritual' helped firmly establish A Sagittariun as an artist whose musical chops and integrity operate largely outside of the mainstream and a producer who chooses to put the music firmly center stage, whilst opting to remain relatively anonymous within the music scene. A Sagittariun explains, Elasticity was recorded over quite a short period, but the sketches and ideas have been germinating for some time, so sonically it's very coherent and consistent and moves in a way that I personally like albums to move in, with a narrative and flow that holds you right to the end. The recipe for Elasticity was always to be malleable and pliable with the sounds and tempos, for me it's all about the listening experience, and creating a landscape and a world within that one can really get deep into and explore, it's optimistic and progressive music for the head, heart and feet. I really do advise the listener to don headphones and take the trip with me".

If you can imagine the gathering of a group of Australian session musicians channelling the sounds of Herbie Hancock Headhunter's and Marc Moulin's Placebo, recording an album out of hours at a TV studio and then releasing a privately pressed hard hitting jazz funk record then what you have is Arena, one of Australia's most revered and scarce rare groove records.
This was the name given to a pick-up group of session players led by Ted White, a veteran of the British big band jazz scene (an associate of Ted Heath and Basil Kirchin) who had immigrated to Australia in the 1960s to work in the burgeoning television industry. This one-time studio project (recorded only to test out the facilities for a new studio) barely yet thankfully saw an LP release in 1975. Pressed in minute quantities only with limited distribution, the album was subsequently forgotten and obscured by time, only to be resurrected in the 90s by DJs and collectors seeking out lost and rare records.
The album has since become one of the country's most celebrated and collectible jazz funk recordings and has proved to be a pivotal point in Australian jazz, marking a shift from the modern jazz and R&B sounds of the previous decades to the cross pollinating electric jazz funk of the 70s. Characterized by the heavy use of electronically treated saxophone, psychedelic guitar, Moog and spacey Fender Rhodes, the album is a classic of the genre.
While acknowledging the often compiled and sampled breaks track, The Long One, the complete album offers much more, exemplified by its complicated and obsessive jazz rhythms, abstract and middle-eastern horn lines and pulsing electric funk.

From track titles to sound samples to magazine articles to packaging, this record / magazine / performance package highlights im/migration, the brown experience, and stripped identity. La Mission knows from brown. The collective is run by a crew of devastatingly handsome deviants whose racial identity is, well...it's complicated. We've lived our lives being neither white enough nor brown enough to fit neatly into racial categories. And so we took some time out from our usual exploits (like our MultiDirectional Playground Tire Swinging' orgies and Elected Candidate/Dead Pig/HungerGames slashfic) to focus on brownness. People started talking about cultural appropriation' when Miley Cyrus started twerking. We couldn't throw shade fast enough. But cooptation and exotification runs rampant in all genres of music-including dance music. We here at La Mission feel pretty fucking awkward about it. We've seen queerofcolor culture turned into whitedudebro business ventures. And as brown folks with stripped and fragmented identities, we're never sure of what culture is ours to use and abuse, anyway. Can we honor our own roots if they're messy and broken When we're inspired' by the music of other cultural groups, is that solidarity or stealing Nothing we have is whole. We can only work with the fragments we have at hand, well aware that there's unfinished business... BLACKMOUTH is the live version of the classic soul/disco sampling house tune. Wallias Band were an Ethiopian jazz/funk outfit active from the
70's until the 90's. They recorded and worked with Mulatu
Astatke. They were amongst the first Ethipian bands to tour the
USA.

On 'Muziqa Muziqa' saxophonist Seyoum Gebreyes collaborates with
the Wallias Band. Very little is known about Seyoum... 'Muziqa
Muziqa' is an uptempo Ethio-funk jam, with a soaring vocal,
driving organ, drums and brass.

'Muziqawi Slit' is a chugging, hypnotic Ethiopian jazz funk
groover featuring organ player by Hailu Mergia. Taken from his
'Tche Belew' LP originally released on Kaifa in 1977, featuring
Mulatu Astatke, arranged by Girme Beyene.

* Returning to Dispatch LTD after a string of successful and hard hitting releases, DBR UK are back to present their debut album, entitled 'Rough Edges', comprised of sixteen original productions from the UK trio.

Made up of varying elements, styles and attitudes within drum & bass, the album covers the trio's full spectrum, carried out with their own unique flair. * Certified masters of crafting their basslines and low ends to perfection, the pulse keeps every track pumping with soul, carefully mapped out and delivered to a tee, whatever the chosen direction. Eloquently arranged, but purposely gritty, dynamic but not over-complicated and never straightforward, glossy or predictable, it's an ideology the group stand by, whether it's a melodic vocal swathe or a murderous minimal mod. * Equipped with murky steppers for the shadowy back rooms such as 'Demolition' (ft. * Alongside their solo productions, the album also sees guest collaborators from the past and present combining efforts, with Skeptical, Structured, Gremlinz & Ahmad helping craft the gullied landscapes, the poignant and piercing vocals of MC Fokus striking at the jugular in 'Blood Water and the smooth, dulcet tones of Amanda Seal perfectly contrasting to the darkness and hysteria, before leading the listener back up the garden path.

Despite having a string of aliased releases in the '90s on the mighty U-Trax, a 12" during the early days of Carl Craig's Planet E, a remarkable album 'Painless' on Down Low Music, and most recently a series of in demand E.P.s with Lost Trax on Tabernacle, their output has remained tantalisingly infrequent.

Over the course of five albums, Manchester based trumpeter, composer, arranger and band-leader Matthew Halsall has carved out a niche for himself on the UK music scene as one of it's brightest talents. His languid, soulful music has won friends from Jamie Cullum and Gilles Peterson to Jazz FM and Mojo as well as an ever-growing international following. His new album Into Forever, puts the spotlight on Halsall the composer, arranger and producer. Halsall draws on a diverse range of influences from Alice Coltrane, Dorothy Ashby, Phil Cohran and Leon Thomas to the more contemporary sounds of The Cinematic Orchestra, Max Richter and Nils Frahm to deliver his most complete recording to date. Into Forever features renowned Manchester based soul poet Josephine Oniyama and rising star vocalist Bryony Jarman-Pinto (Werkha) as well as regular collaborators, flautist Lisa Mallett, harpist Rachael Gladwin, koto player Keiko Kitamura, pianist Taz Modi, bassist Gavin Barras and drummer Luke Flowers (The Cinematic Orchestra) and two percussionists Sam Bell and Chris Cruiks. Norman Jay MBE presents his latest compilation, titled 'Good Times Skank & Boogie', set for release 9th October 2015 on Sunday Best Recordings. This is his first compilation since 2011's Good Times 30th Anniversary Addition and follows on from his hotly anticipated Good Times Goes East party at St John Church at Hackney on 29th August.
Norman Jay is undoubtedly one of the finest and highly respected DJs in the world today and yet again pulls from his impressive collection to provide the ultimate eclectic selection.
For this 12th compilation, for those of you counting, Norman kicks off with St Germain's version of Henry Mancini's Pink Panther Theme. A cult favourite from 2004s Pink Panther Penthouse Party album, it of course immediately brings Peter Sellers to mind and a smile to your face. Next up former Uniques front man Slim Smith's Everybody Needs Love is a classic from 1968, cut at the legendary Duke Reid's Treasure Isle studio. Penned originally by Motown heroes Norman Whitfield and Eddie Holland and covered by household names including The Temptations and Glady's Knight & The Pips, Slim's version became something of a signature tune until his mysterious death in 1971. Sticking with Motown, Stevie Wonder's Living For The City is up next but it's the Michael McDonald rendition from his 2008 album Soul Speak, which proves the man who gave us the sublime Sweet Freedom had lost none of his class 20 plus years on.
D-Influence's Good Lover takes things up and brings them closer to home, to the streets of London infact. After a couple of independent releases the band, who had strong connections to the London Jazz and Soul scenes, served up this contemporary boogie tune as part of their 1992 debut long player for East West. They would subsequently score hits as a production team for a number of British R&B acts. Homegrown soul continues with Paul Johnson's Better Than This, released here via longstanding UK soul imprint Expansion to deserved acclaim last year. It's quality and appeal are simply timeless, whilst master Dego and Kaidi's mix adds a classic 80s soul dimension to proceedings.
The Chi-Lites I Keep Comin' Back To You and The Real Thing's Love Takes Tears continue and expand the 80s theme, bringing in 2-step and boogie, as does Deodato's Never Knew Love from the same period.
We switch again with Delroy Wilson's Better Must Come, a massively popular sufferers lament from 1971 by this former Jamaican child star, it would go on to be used in election campaigns by various Jamaican political parties. Kent People by Laurel Aitken & The Gruvy Beat is the next one out the box and was the flip to the 1969 anthem Skinhead Train. It features the UK's top reggae band of the era The Rudies, who along with Aitken, the widely-proclaimed Godfather of Ska, comprised of Earl Dunn (lead guitar), Trevor White (bass), Sonny Binns (keyboards) and Danny Smith (drums). They would go on to enjoy UK chart success backing singer Freddie Notes before they evolved into Greyhound. From the same year Splash Down by The Crystalites is another slate that ignited dance floors in both Jamaica and the UK upon release. Some of you will have noticed the rhythm track is the same as that of the earlier Kingstonians' best-seller, Sufferer, which came courtesy of legendary producer Derrick Harriott.
As the end draws close The Stone City Band featuring Rick James serve up some hard edged boogie, hotly followed by a classic Tom Moulton slice of late 70s disco courtesy of The Fantastic Four and their I Got To Have Your Love. If that doesn't have you dancing then Chanson's superb Don't Hold Back featuring James Jamerson Jr. on bass will leave you no choice. Classic Good Times indeed.

Flanger is back! After 10 years, Atom™ and Burnt Friedman have composed and produced their fifth long player:

4th studio album by their very own Dapayk Solo. Titled - #nofilter the album will be out on Oct 12, 2015. Since 1996 producer Niklas Worgt is regarded as one of the most creative and versatile protagonists of Europes club scene. Several projects for his label Mo's Ferry Prod., like the - I LOVE VINYL - Festival or the work on new Dapayk & Padberg releases have kept him busy during the last 5 years. But finally he came around to spend some - solo time in the studio. After having turned to a more melodic and gentle side on his last two album releases as part of the german electronica duo Dapayk & Padberg, - Smoke (2013) and - Smoke- The Family remixes (2014), Worgt is now being much more experimental and edgy in his productions. - I wanted the sound to be very focused - he says about his vision for album #4. More straightforward, more reduced, more analog and dirtier than - anything i have done before . On - #nofilter he combines elements from his early days in breakbeat and drum'n'bass with minimal and techhouse to his very own and very unique signature sound - far off the beaten club sound track. Worgt aims to challenge his audience, willing them to see that there is more than just one way of doing things. Well aware of the fact that: - ..some of the tracks might not be for everyone at first glance. But it's always good to do things in an unexpected way, to change the listeners perspective. Niklas Worgt also proofs his provocative and humorous side with the album title - #nofilter , statistically prooven to be one of the most commonly used hashtags. A keyword, often headlining the fact that a filter has been used.

Milos has been causing quite a stir of late with his limited handstamped MSR & Milos Recordings projects, gaining support from key players including Ben Sims, Gez Varley (LFO), and Colin Dale. Now we look forward to Receptive Visions, a label focused on no bullsh*t, real dancefloor techno. Kicking off with the euphoric yet raw "Reconery Flight", razor sharp hats, and massive drops pave the way for gauranteed dancefloor response! Flip for "Away Days", heads straight down, with a distinct gnarled, ragged intensity and thick pulsating grooves! One to watch!

Entitas, is the second instalment of Jay Clarke's BLACKAXON imprint, and sees the label boss bring out the big guns in the form of three distinct and diverse cuts. First up is Entity, an autonomic monster which has sweat soaked energy written all over it. It's auspiciously one part deep, and more than double just as twisted. Things are far from linear with Entity, it's mercilessly the sum of it's own parts, and has the hallmarks of a true big room pleaser written all over it. A truly authentic demonstration of the old adage 'It's not where you are going, it's how you get there'. Entity is certain to be reached for by all of the major players on the Techno circuit for a long time to come.
On the flip, Ghosts Of Acid is the Yin to Entity's Yang. A plangent and introspective groove opens up with wispy cymbals, cleverly placed rims, hats and claps. Exploratory and evolving subaqueous acidic forays dare the listener to dive in a little deeper, with the reward being a very proficient and efficient take on the now classic Acid sound.

Existence Through Perception seeks to carry on where the previous two tracks left off. A driving groove and sinister hook lets up briefly midway to a near triumphant fanfare, only to be brought back to it's mischievous overture. A perfect late night/peak time track for DJ's looking to elevate the bar of their set just one more rung higher.

'I want you' the result of a collaboration between 3 Belgian talents, discovered by Melodymathics. Amtek&E-Freak ft. Mike Ekim are bringing the contemporary club sound, though remaining funky and soulful, with catchy vocals. A real dancefloor killer!

Melodymathics holds the tradition alive to indulge the vinyl dj's. This time the funky loops are provided by the mysterious Melodymann and Sjef Wanders.

Roland Clark has without any doubt written house music history. Under names like South Street Player, Dark Clark and of course Urban Soul he has influenced the evolution of house music like only a few others. His different vocals on Fatboy Slim´s records are timeless, such as - What the f*ck and - Song for shelter .

Gourmets of old school house music become excited when they listen to Roland´s - Alright . The song, released in 1991, became a milestone in terms of soulful house, in the same way like Adeva´s - Respect and Terrence Parker´s - Love´s got me high .

Marc Romboy has re-explored this pearl for his series - Lost Treasures and was able to convince Roland to release it again, fort he nyoung generation and fort he old school lovers.

The package comes along with a respectful interpretation of no one else than Gerd (Clone, 4 Lux) and the fine remaster of the original club mix from more than 20 years ago.

It takes time for a series of seperate ideas to evolve into a fully concepteptualized album if it wants to have a place in history for Ali and Basti Schwarz, better known as Tiefschwarz. Since 1998 the duo, as both DJ's and producers, have perfected the art of dominating the moments only experienced on a dance floor, deeply immersed in sound. Their music is unique as it is creative. Among the countless extended players and remixes, the three landmark Tiefschwarz albums: 'RAL 9005, 'Eat Books' and 'Chocolate' all have a common thread weaving them together; a historic vision uniting the musical crossroads of past and future. As with the previous albums, Tiefschwarz pause briefly on the subjective localization of artists in the (music) world to create an album which unfolds like a story told by master story tellers. Igniting the dance floor while at the same time giving the listener the opportunity to look beyond themselves and into the journey that is 'Left". With 'Left", Tiefschwarz were able to radicalize the album-specific approach and focus more intently on combining grooves with an introspective perspective. They refrained to bring in an outside co-producer for the album and made sure to forego the cliche variety of guest musicians, concentrating instead on one congenial companion: Khan, who both Ali and Basti have been close friends with since the 90's. Khan, a Frankfurt native of Turkish and Finnish decent, is one of the most prominent and exhilarating German Techno pioneers.

Wah Wah 45s are very proud to present the first full-length album in almost a decade from vocalist, keyboard player, Fela Kuti collaborator and afrobeat legend, Dele Sosimi!

You No Fit Touch Am represents where Dele is today - something of an untouchable force in the music scene that he has always been such a vital part of. The title is an uncompromising message that this man means business, and with his mammoth afrobeat orchestra on board that is definitely the case. Recorded at the Fish Market Studios in North-West London by Benedic Lamdin (AKA Nostalgia 77) the album provides a musical representation of Dele's strong socio-political opinions, as well as delivering classic song-writing that could have come straight out of 1970s Lagos!

Born in Hackney, East London, but soon to return to his parents' native Nigeria at the age of four, Dele Sosimi was schooled and raised in Fela Anikulapo Kuti's shadow at the height of early 70s afrobeat. Having been chosen by Fela to join his band at somewhat of a tender age, he was still a young man when sharing Fela's Glastonbury stage in 1984, and became both Musical Director for both Fela's Egypt 80 and Femi Kuti's Positive Force.

After Fela's passing in 1997, Dele went on to concentrate on his own solo career and, with diligent patience, carved out his own afrobeat crown. In London, where he now resides, his Afrobeat Vibration all-nighters are charged with his passion, labours and his unrelenting spirit.

Following on from his first two studio albums, Turbulent Times and Identity, this third long-player is sure to cement Dele Sosimi's position as a major player within afrobeat and beyond!

Butane's Alphahouse imprint kicks off 2015 with Pablo Inzunza's 'Convenience' EP, featuring three original cuts from the Chilean artist and a remix from the label-founder himself.

Pablo Inzunza is a Chilean DJ and producer most notably known for his recent long player on Butane & Someone Else's Little Helpers imprint, but also acknowledged for material on Germany's Highgrade, and French imprint Monique Musique. Inzunza has explored an array of organic and abstract Techno styles across the early stages of his career and here we see him push on with more powerful dance floor focused cuts via the Alphahouse imprint.

The original mix of title cut 'Convenience' opens things up here and sees Inzunza employ a hypnotic 303 hook as the driving force, while ghostly synth textures flutter away in the depths of the composition and sparse rhythms further fuel its undulating groove. 'Hypnotica' follows and as the name would suggest lays its focus on an entrancing, percussion and pad-led groove, which subtly unfolds over its five and a half minute duration.

Opening up the flip side of the release label-head Butane offers up a tougher, heads down take on 'Convenience', treating us to his typically rough and ready production style with gritty drum lines laid over the original's squelchy 303 lick. Then finally to round things off we have the third and final original from Pablo entitled 'Intimate', which takes on a more house tinged aesthetic this time with organic percussion, sweeping synth stabs and stuttering bass tones.

Longtime Figure main-player Markus Suckut continues his artistic development with this killer seven track, wide-reaching EP. Based on the concept of providing rich ambient textures for the start of the night or DJ set, and then heavy, minimalist techno tracks to satisfy driving, percussive club needs, Suckut gives us another masterclass in his art. Alongside the dense textures of for start #1-3 and their varying moods - from echoing steam-filled passges to off-world strings reaching for the skies - we are also treated to four heavyweight DJ tools stamped with Markus trademark elegant sound.

Ruede Hagelstein and Watergate go hand in hand. Not only is Ruede one of the longest running residents at the club, but he's also the man behind some of the label's most acclaimed music and the curator responsible for lucky number 13 in the illustrious Watergate mix series. With this, it seemed obvious to put Ruede up to his next task: an album. It is with great anticipation and excitement that we bring you the first LP for both Ruede and Watergate Records, Apophenia. Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data, and for Ruede, this is the perfect interpretation to describe his writing process, in which ideas appear from the empty, chaotic darkness. A random chord progression or percussion arrangement opens the door to the imagination where structures appear and begin to take shape. Unlike most of his previous work, Apophenia is not strictly attached to the dance floor, but created to fit just as seamless while listening at home as it is in the club. For over a year, Ruede collected ideas and visualized his plan. It was important not to mimic his earlier work, but to focus on a certain sound. While staying minimalistic yet extremely organic and melodic he has created a timeless long player. While the LP spans a range of emotions, it is always grounded in Ruede's unparalleled, singular sound. Pair that with some notable features from artists like PillowTalk, Hollis P. Monroe & Overnite, Justin Evans and C.A.R. and you have a plethora of dazzling music.

For its 52th release, Be As One has picked the rising Italian talent Marco Faraone, with a 4 tracks EP, that showcases different takes of Marco's approach to Techno. The EP title track 'Restrictions' opens the 12 with a dark, fast-paced groove and hypnotic vocal, a real treat for the authentic Techno players. With 'Day 20 Marco ravels into the Dub Techno forest, with classic Dub elements that set the tone to a deeper mood. 'Voices From The Sea' follows up with a more festive approach, a big room anthem that keeps the dark vibe on the release. For the vinyl heads, an exclusive treat for the 12 its 'Early Morning", getting a due vinyl pressing after being featured exclusively on the 2013 live compilation by Shlomi Aber.
