This is more a relic than a record. A token of respect to the music that made me who I am. Smoove delivers another pair of exceptional reworks, breathing fresh life into two disco classics from 1978 and 1979. Staying true to the spirit of the original recordings while adding his signature production touch, both tracks feel timeless yet perfectly suited for today’s dancefloors.

On the A-side, Was That All It Was opens with crisp, punchy drums before gradually unfolding into a masterclass in arrangement. Layer by layer, Smoove rebuilds the track, allowing Jean Carne’s stunning vocal performance to shine through lush string breakdowns, soaring brass, and an irresistible groove.

The flip features Runaway Love, taking a slightly deeper, slower approach. Euphoric backing vocals, warm Fender Rhodes, sweeping strings, and impeccably tight percussion combine to create an uplifting, soulful journey. An elegant and utterly joyful rework from start to finish.

Composed over a period of twenty years, these four electroacoustic pieces by Ivo Malec reflect the richness of his sonic universe and reveal the unique power of his musical writing. The single was released in Italy in 1984 as a 12-inch vinyl. What immediately stands out about the pressing is the complete absence of a record label; it was released as “Not On Label” with the catalog number HAS 1958. We are reissuing the original and also including a few unique interpretations/remixes by A.P. Mono and O.C. Lee. Once again, a true collector’s item! Limited edition pressing of 200 copies.

Opening the release is Bonifaz ‘Encore’ a sample heavy slice of filter-house with a sprinkling of French touch,
laid out across five and a half minutes with with a chuggy bass line, dubby synth stabs and an amalgamation of
choppy vocal chants all dynamically evolving and unfolding throughout amongst a crisp, robust rhythm section
that carries the groove throughout.

On the flip side, Uit de Hoogte offers up 'Whooop!' built around a acid-tinged synth hook with envelope
fluctuations through, sweeping resonant synth flutters, heavily swung drums and intricately processed vocal
lines resulting in a high-octane workout perfectly primed for the peak time hours on the dance floor.

End Of Dayz returns to the fray, this time with a deeper release than usual, presenting tracks by Granada-based Canarian producer Mesh Convergence, teaming up with the mysterious Afa Ttura. The record is completed by a remix from Australian artist Fergus Sweetland.

,Lick the Spoon, Let it Soften" ist das zweite Album von Lamplight, dem Projekt des in Virginia ansässigen Songwriters Ian Hatcher-Williams und seiner Band aus bewährten Mitstreitern, darunter Mitglieder von Lightning Bug und hemlock. Die EP enthält außerdem Akustikversionen von drei Songs aus Crovers Soloalbum Glossolalia" (Doug Yuletide", Rings" und Jane"), einen aus dem 2021 erschienenen Rat-A-Tat-Tat!" (I Can't Help You There") und den brandneuen Titelsong. Diese intime Inszenierung von Crovers Songs steht hier im Kontrast zum elektrischen, mit Gastmusikern gespickten Glossolalia", aber man kann diese Musik kaum als ausgemustert" bezeichnen. Es fühlt sich eher wie eine Weiterentwicklung des glam-beeinflussten Power-Pop an, den Crover seit The Fickle Finger of Fate" aus dem Jahr 2017 produziert. Die Arrangements von Produzent Toshi Kasai füllen den verfügbaren Leerrum mit Slide-Gitarre, Maultrommel, verschiedenen Glocken und anderen Idiophonen. Der Geist von Crovers Musik war noch nie deutlicher ein rastloses Verlangen, Neuland zu erkunden, kombiniert mit einer tiefen Liebe zum Rock 'n' Roll, dieselbe, die die Melvins zu einer der interessantesten und einflussreichsten Bands ihrer Generation gemacht hat.
