Juan Ramos and Trent AKA Greenvision are back for pENE d'Amore part 2, a collaborative release between Berlin's Cocktail d'Amore Music and Ene Tokyo. This precious 12" follows Rambutan, the duo's offering to Los Angeles' ESP Institute. The cover is made by visual artist Giulia Munari and reminds of the melting pattern of a Murano glass, referencing indeed the abundance the listener is soon to discover putting the needle on this record. A multitude of acid lines tinged with a touch of trance and a carefree melody roll over an almost off-beat groove in Mountain of Madness, taking over A side. On the flip, the didgeridoo-based Rolling2joints takes the listener exploring a mystical forest on a distant planet. Again disorienting, psychedelic and explosive, Greenvsion's productions sound like riddles to be solved, puzzles to be composed. Their unique sonic layering philosophy results in an almost unclassifiable music genre ready to please the thirstier dance-floors.

Bigwax Records is proud to launch its label, Les Masques, with the reissue of the only album of the obscure band from Marseille, The Students. Released in 1985 in relative confidentiality, "Students In Summer" reflects the carelessness of a bourgeois youth cradled in FM hits, new wave, Sade and Stranglers, and the way of life of these medical students who left regularly Mediterranean shores to surf the Basque coast. Lo-fi, sunny and ultra-cool, this rarity of French pop eighties is here remastered from the original tapes.

Henrik Schwarz & Alma Quartet present CCMYK, a new album on Henrik's own label Between Buttons. Produced in collaboration with the Alma String Quartet, it's a free conversation between classical and electronic music, carefully transformed into a set of astonishing tracks, ready for club or concert hall. Though based on free improvisations between Laptop and String Instruments, CCMYK is not a record of bumbling jams. Rather, it's a record of startling density, control and emotional complexity. This is the sound of open conversation between piercing intellects, taking their individual instruments and musical backgrounds to create a new universe of sound. The vinyl comes in a unique, handmade, limited 4 colour CMYK pressing. Every record is unique! Black is available as well.

Claiming Montreal as his new home town, Brussels-born Senz Beats has been building an impressive body of work with underground veterans from both coasts of the US (Dave Dub, Megabusive, Lex Boogie From the Bronx..) and beyond. Cappo, Nottingham's very own veteran MC, needs no introduction having already made waves at home and abroad with his impeccable string of solo albums as well as his work with the Nottingham super group VVV.
Here, Senz Beats and Cappo join forces to present a stark reminder of where humanity is headed if we continue to place our values in capitalist ideals. The raw, driving energy of the beat offers the perfect backdrop for Cappo to deliver his warning to those caught up in the materialistic rat-race: the tidal wave is close approaching.
4 experts in their field offer up remixes of this epic track. Boot Records very own Jazz-T (Jehst, Lee Scott, J-Zone...), ex-Def Jux engineer and artist Uncommon Nasa (Vast Aire, Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif...), Lex Boogie From The Bronx (Marq Spekt, Rass Kass, Vordul Mega...), and R.E.D.A. (Insight, Main Flow, M. Sayyid...) each give this track their own distinctive flavour to devastating effect.
Lastly, on the bonus track Fool's Gold, J Lawson echos Cappo's Tidal Wave warnings concerning lusting after riches at the expense of everything else, also produced by Senz Beats. One of the few remaining songs from over 2 years of collaboration roughly 10 years ago, this song has stood the test of time and is ready and eager to be presented to the world.

The Antwerp based label Deep Down returns to the black gold with 2 extended cuts for summer 2019.

Pur Sang, the alias of labelheads Delbaen and Veebo, set the tone with their first vinyl release and continue the eclectic madness with “Early Spring”, a bass driven monster with constant subtle groove changes. It’s like you hear the FM-synth birds making love in the first sun of the year. “Early Spring’ is all ready getting played by Dorian Paic from Raum Musik.

On the b-side we find Ukrainian based Yaroslav Lenzyak, who is widely recognized for his excellent releases on Sleep is Commercial, Castanea, Archipel and his own imprint Soblazn. “Tricky” takes you on a mental journey with some very addictive chords and evenly intriguing sequencing. Microhouse at its best!

Spring 1982: Grégory Ken and Valli aka Chagrin d'Amour bursts into the scene with 'Chacun fait (C'qui lui plaît)'. The track gets 9 airplays a day on the newly created NRJ radio and 35 000 copies of the 7" are sold every day !
In the blink of an eye, a team of experienced musicians is gathered around prominent sound engineer Dominique Blanc-Francard: Slim Pezin (guitars), Bernard Paganotti (bass), Philippe Drai (drums) and Jean-Pierre Sabar (keyboards). After a few days in New-York with Richard Avedon who shot the cover pictures the album is ready and set to become a cult release over more than three decades.

J.Wiltshire joins the Black Orpheus stable with five tracks of heat for the dance. On side A, 'Semuta' and 'Lemon Squash' are an acid-soaked take on classic electro and sound like a summer beach party organised by Snake Plissken. The theme of road-ready funk continues with the rolling, squelching bass of 'Hundred'. On the reverse, 'In Your Belly' and 'Cymek' take the release into murkier territory. Two cuts of razor sharp retro futurism, these weapons of choice would turn heads at any post apocalyptic rave or dystopian underground gathering. Eye patches at the ready!

For this very special release we have compiled remixes and alternative versions of some of our all time favourite moonshine singles. Across 2x12” vinyl you will find remixes from the ones of Radikal Guru, Von D, Bukkha, RSD, J. Sparrow, Dub Conductor & Numa Crew. You could already hear some of the tracks being played on heavy rotation from dubplates during the last 2-3 years. Don’t sleep!

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Far Out Recordings proudly presents two albums of previously unheard Azymuth demo recordings from 1973-75

Since their debut album release in 1975, Azymuth have risen to rank alongside the world’s greatest jazz, funk and fusion artists. As young men in Rio de Janeiro, they stood out for both their exceptional talent as musicians, and their wild rock ‘n’ roll antics in the predominantly middle-class worlds of bossa nova and jazz. Their signature ‘Samba Doido’ (crazy samba) sound ruptured the tried and tested musical structures of the day, resulting in what can only be described as an electric, psychedelic, samba jazz-funk hybrid.

Before they became Azymuth, José Roberto Bertrami (keyboards), Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti (drums), Alex Malheiros (bass) and Ariovaldo Contesini (percussion) played backing band to just about every major artist in Brazil. Bertrami was also contracted as an arranger and songwriter at some the biggest labels of the era: Polydor, Philips, Som Livre, and EMI being just a few. Azymuth’s name can be found on record sleeves by the likes of Jorge Ben, Elis Regina, Marcos Valle, Ana Mazzotti and countless others. But at the dawn of the seventies, fascinated by developments in improvisational music - from jazz in the US, to progressive rock in the UK and of course samba, bossa and tropicália on home turf - the energetic young group were inspired and ready to move forward. Any spare moment in which they weren’t in sessions and writing music for other artists, they would be carving out their own sound.

These previously unheard recordings took place between 1973-75 at Bertrami’s home studio in the Laranjeiras district of Rio de Janeiro. At the time of recording, there was nothing in Brazil, less the world that sounded anything like them, so perhaps it’s unsurprising that when Bertrami presented his demos to the record companies he had been working for, he was turned away, and told in effect that the music was ‘wrong’.

One of the demos ‘Manhã’ would be picked up by Som Livre and Azymuth released their seminal debut album in 1975. Throughout the late seventies and eighties, the group released a series of now classic albums for Milestone Records, before taking an indefinite hiatus to pursue their individual careers.

When English producers Joe Davis and Roc Hunter arrived in Brazil in 1994 to record the first Azymuth album in over a decade, Bertrami dug out the demos which had sat virtually untouched for over twenty years. Joe recalls how he was “blown away by the freedom and intensity of the music, as well as the genius of the ideas musically.” Beginning a long and fruitful relationship, ‘Prefacio’ would be the first track Azymuth recorded for Far Out Recordings and was released on the Carnival album (1996).
Along with ‘Manhã’ and ‘Prefacio’, only a handful of these demos were ever professionally recorded and released, making this the first opportunity to hear many of these early Azymuth compositions in their raw, original form.

On every track the frenetic energy in the studio is palpable, giving the recordings a beautifully personal feel and a sense of the phenomenally creative vision Bertrami, Malheiros and Conti were realising at the time. Fifty years on, Azymuth’s earliest recorded music retains an ineffable, futuristic quality, standing amongst their most captivating and moving work.

Italo-disco inspired house music, IN MY DREAMS is the latest single from New York/Moscow duo IPF aka INTERNETPOWERLIFTINGFEDERATION. A warm, galloping bass line fuses with razor-sharp synth stabs, creamy pads and late-80’s house drums. A dual-vocal exchange explores self-delusion, obsession and a single-sided relationship between girl and the boy who lives in her head. Melancholic yet pop-y, IN MY DREAMS wouldn’t be out of place in club run by Erasure, Depeche Mode or Human League at their most soulful and dancefloor-ready. In the spirit of classic 80’s dance music traditions, the original mix gets three additional reworks: a classic Electro version, a “big room” friendly HI-NRG version and stripped down version. This is the first release from New York city based label Daddy Issues, limited pressing 150 copies only.

Civil Disobedience's seventh and debut vinyl release welcomes Polish artist, TAKA, to the family. TAKA presents 1610, an exceptionally personal and moving collection of music written and produced during a period of coming to terms with her father's passing. In her own words, "I began to feel strong again when I was creating this music." This is an EP where emotions of the darkest and lightest kind dance together.

TAKA executes her story in rough and ready beats, quirky and randomised percussion, with intense and emotive leads progressing throughout each track.

Entrusted to remix such precious material is TAKA's friend, Gareth Wild, who has crafted a signature heavy duty techno destroyer of "Cry Cry. "Cry Cry" especially promises to leave its mark on listeners, its leading chords are a raw melodic masterpiece, underpinned with a pummelling bassline. This piece of music penetrates the soul, awakens the subconscious, and leaves you radiating with profound hope and knowing. Those who hear it do not forget it.

When John Selway brought his dancing hands to the keyboard to begin work on his first full EP on Serotonin Records since ‘Zoids Vol 2’ in 1998, he channelled cosmic soul to create the next generation of intergalactic funk. His EP ‘Light Language’ surfs the solar winds to the space between breaks and electro where his musical adventures are free to explore the frontiers of dance. ‘Light Language’ permeates with the angelic voices of our true selves. The voice is the primary and complete musical instrument. When John was not yet born his mother sang to him in utero. A musical soul so innate it resonates celestial tonalities. All captured here on this twelve inch disk delivered by the galaxian voyager and pressed for human kind by Serotonin Records.



John Selway became an indispensable element of the history of the New York sound by virtue of building an extensive catalog of high quality releases spanning almost three decades and multiple genres of electronic music. From his first success in the techno world as part of the seminal New York duo Disintegrator to the most successful of his collaborations, Smith & Selway, and his deep and minimal techno label CSM; from the intelligent electro-funk of Synapse and Serotonin Records to his darker explorations as Semblance Factor, Selway has created one of the richest bodies of work in the world of electronic music.

Be With have raided the KPM archives to re-issue another of our favourites from the KPM 1000 series. They say: A comprehensive collection of descriptive contemporary scores. We say: Just look at the track titles of The Road Forward and swoon: Strangelands, A Man Alone, Sheer Elegance, Mystique Voyage, Cruising. Don’t you just want to hear those? The maestro Alan Hawkshaw really spoils us on this, one of the most sought after KPM greensleeves. This collection from 1977 is a brilliantly varied blend of silky smooth synths, funk-fuelled clavichord grooves and soft focus space beats. Essential. As with all of our KPM re-issues, the audio for The Road Forward comes from the original analogue tapes and has been remastered for vinyl by Be With regular Simon Francis. We’ve taken the same care with the sleeves, handing the reproduction duties over to Richard Robinson, the current custodian of KPM’s brand identity. And don’t worry! Those KPM stickers aren’t stuck directly on the sleeves!

'The Loop' is the new LP by Los Angeles based polymath Shafiq Husayn, an epic project which saw its inception in 2012 through a series of studio sessions at Shafiq's home, including collaborations with the likes of Thundercat, Erykah Badu, Flying Lotus, Bilal and Anderson Paak. Amongst a close knit circle of friends and family the golden tones of The Loop were created, deeply rooted in ideas of song, story, history, guidance and spirituality. The album bumps, jumps and jangles through progressions in jazz, hip hop, soul and funk, following on from his debut album 'Shafiq En' A-Free-Ka' and adding further to his rich history of timeless, unique music. On The Loop past, present and future are brought together through a psychedelic concoction of time traveling drum machines, celestial string sections and trails of synthesizer vapour. Inflections of Sly Stone, Pharaoh Sanders and Earth Wind And Fire traverse with Marley Marl and Dilla-esqe drums making for an organic yet LA-trifying experience.

Shafiq has brought together an impressive array of LA's musical royalty, enlisting the likes of Thundercat, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Kamasi Washington, Chris 'Daddy' Dave, Eric Rico, Coultrain, Computer Jay, Jimetta Rose, Om'Mas Keith, Kelsey Gonzalez, I-Ced and more to provide the backbone to his recording sessions. Drawing in features from an international cast of performers and artists like Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, Fatima and Karen Be amongst others. Now complete and finally ready for release in 2019 The Loop is truly something to behold. The records is accompanied by a series of paintings by acclaimed Japanese visual artist Tokio Aoyama, who worked in tandem with Shafiq to create a painting for each song on the record.

CTHI Records is back again after a little pause given by the development of the Jaxx Madicine project started initially by the label founder Parker Madicine and Turbojazz. Through out this time the label has productively been joined by Veezo, italian pianist and producer, for the making of their Distant Classic album and various EP’s and remixes published on many different international labels as Local Talk, Visions Rec, Dirt Crew and Eureka. CTHI is now ready , after the recent Japanese tour as Jaxx Madicine Trio, to be again the front stream for the debut EP of Veezo ‘Monolith’. An 8 tracks EP playing the essential “manifesto" and inspiring heritage of the artist. Raw and dirty grooves made in 12bit res, tape delays and acid Ms20 arps on top of which you’ll appreciate afro elements, warm rhodes and pad chords allowing you to perceive the whole Veezo musical ambient creativity. Two singing tracks - unique featurings by David Shorty and the Technoir Duo - are providing deep house/boogie atmospheres and jazzy spiritual moods. There are various musicians participating into this project leading through bass, flutes and drums that will surely provide you the feeling of an orchestral setting guided and directed by a solo person inducting all those elements through an Akai taperecorder. The result: close to a mid 90’s forbidden cartoon enriched by the cover of the Japanese artist Tokio Aoyama.

With 10 albums already to her name, Muriel Grossmann is well-placed to create more sonic waves in 2019. Taken from her mesmerising spiritual jazz LP 'Golden Rule', we have deep jazz, modal jazz, esoteric jazz, spiritual jazz; refined, intensified and concentrated into 2 whirlwind sides.

Anshaw relentlessly exposes a range of emotion and versatility through bit crushed textures, varying sonics and unorthodox song structure. Benjamin Fröhlich has struck many chords in the arena of electronic music: as a party organizer and record shop owner in his early days, and now as a label owner, DJ and producer. He is the co-founder of Permanent Vacation Records together with Tom Bioly, which has been up and running since the tropical summer of 2006. Emerging from the vibrant Cosmic Disco and Balearic scene, Permanent Vacation has been going strong over the past decade with genre-defining hits, albums and compilations. Fröhlich and Bioly have worked together with the household names of the international electronic dance scene. They have scouted artists like John Talabot, Todd Terje, Tensnake and Mano Le Tough early in their careers and released their breakthrough records. On top of his dedication to explore and feature rising as well as accomplished artists, Benjamin Fröhlich himself has emerged as a producer of vibrant tracks that are testament to his versatile and compelling approach to club music. His 12 inches, which were well received by DJs and clubbers alike, are accompanied by acclaimed remixes including his Tuff City Kids rework, which made it on Roman Flügel's Fabric Mix Now his first album is ready to go! Amiata is a conglomerate of Benjamin Fröhlich's longstanding experience. Just like his DJ sets and work for PV, each of the album's tracks expresses a different facet of his musical preferences. While keeping it under the roof of Benjamin's specific sound, the tracks range from Dub hybrids to Italo, Disco and Boogie inspired tracks, 90's spacy breakbeats and Electro to classic house ( 'Last Night' features rising U.S. artist Dreamcast).

After a lengthy hiatus from the label, Melbourne's best kept secret Booshank returns with a highly anticipated four tracker, featuring a contribution from Japanese artist Gonno. Tumultuous beat tracks meet detailed synthesis to form the signature sound we've come to love and expect from the mystery man.

In "operating with a blown mind" Booshank has manifested the energy and intricacy of his previous fantasies on Butter Sessions, Domestic Documents, Unthank and his own newly formed imprint Couch Acid. A hybrid of club ready cruisers and dreamy mind-melting ambience that could soundtrack a nightclub experience in an alternate reality or a low-key arvo in the sun.

A great crossover record for both DJs and fans of more ambient vibrations bolstered by a crackerjack interpretation by Gonno.
