Los Angeles trio sunking marry hip hop, and electronic influences on their 2nd album I DON"T LIKE MY TELEPHONE. Childhood friends Bobby Granfelt, a jazz drummer and self-proclaimed hip-hop head, Antoine Martel, a synthesist and composer, branched off their mainstay High Pulp to explore their polar opposite tastes and make music as sunking in addition to multi-instrumentalist Victory Nguyen. Their 2022 debut Smug, was more jazz-influenced, while I DON"T LIKE MY TELEPHONE is akin to the early work of beat-driven artists Thundercat, Madlib, and Flying Lotus. They hand selected artists Salami Rose Joe Louis, Niki Randa, Deradoorian, and Takoda to lend vocals and help capture that spirit. I DON"T LIKE MY TELEPHONE as a series of self-contained "micro-compositions," built around Granfelt"s drum loops and Martel"s new gear. In addition to, they were fueled by an increasing love for electronic music artists like Galcher Lustwerk, The Field, and Susumu Yokota, whose 1994 cult classic Acid Mt. Fuji they cite as a particular inspiration. The result is a record as vibrant as a kaleidoscope, and compact as one too, shuffling through more styles and ideas in neat, three-minute chunks of virtuosity.

The legendary jazz bassist Isao Suzuki, revered worldwide for his extraordinary talent, recorded this vibrant session in 1981 alongside his longtime collaborator Tsuyoshi Yamamoto. Now, this rare gem returns on analog vinyl!
Infused throughout with the infectious rhythms of Brazilian music, the album captures a festive spirit brought to life by an all-star lineup including Takayuki Kato, Ichiro Doi, and Donald Bailey.

You're strolling down an alley in New Orleans or Brooklyn late at night and this sound jumps out at you -- rock & roll, classic rhythm & blues, sung and played with verve, personality, and joy. Indeed one of the eight cuts onWrite It Down, the new album fromJackson& The Janks, comes from the repertoire of rhythm & blues singer Mamie Perry, first recorded in 1959. The rest areJacksonLynch originals, inspired by his time living and playing music in the Crescent City. Theuniquearrangementsof the band itself have deep roots in NOLA, too, with Matt Bell (Esther Rose) on lap steel, Craig Flory (Tuba Skinny) on bass saxophone and Sam Doores (The Deslondes) sharing backing vocals while trading-off on drums and keys.

Jacksonand the Janks have performed at the Brooklyn Folk Fest, Blackpot Festival (Louisiana), and Oldtone Festival (New York) and did a video session for tastemaker series GemsOnVHS and Jackson a solo session for Paste. Its residency on Fridays in Brooklyn (when they're not on tour) packs the house week after week with fans and folks drawn in by the word-of-mouth buzz and the sound.

Bulbous Monocle focuses its lens further into the legacy and archives of the Thinking Fellers Union Local 282. These Things Remain Unassigned—a phrase coined by Brian Hageman, one of the band’s musical snake appendages emanating from its Medusa crown—is presented as a double LP (gatefold jacket with a twelve page libretto). It gathers together the band’s singles, compilation tracks, outtakes and never before released gems encompassing the arc of TFUL’s musical corpus. Every track has been surgically remastered by Mark Gergis (Porest / Sublime Frequencies / Mono Pause) with his signature craftsman approach. This collection is an auditory and visual feast. The extensive booklet included features band ephemera, concert flyers, photographs, and commentary about each track from Mark Davies. Beyond the rare singles and unreleased tracks from the TFUL archives, are cover versions from such disparate artists and composers as Ennio Morricone, Krzysztof Komeda, The Residents, The Shaggs, Caroliner Rainbow and Pérez Prado. “…In addition to these compilation one-offs, there were also a few studio recordings that were never quite completed or released. Throw in an alternate mix or two and the handful of singles that came out on various labels over the years, and you end up with what I feel works well as its own body of work, a bunch of adopted oddballs that somehow fit together as a family. Demon Music Group are delighted to confirm the signing of ‘Night Mirror’ – the fourth solo album from electronic music legend, Claudia Brücken. • Written and recorded in London between 2023-2025 with longtime collaborator John Williams, ‘Night Mirror’ is a stunning collection of 10 brand new songs, suffused with optimism, loosely bound by themes of reflection and rebirth. •

Having first come to notice as the lead singer of Düsseldorf electronic music pioneers Propaganda, one of the first signings to the celebrated ZTT Records (Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Art Of Noise, 808 State), Claudia’s striking image and distinctive vocals made her one the most influential and inspiring female musicians of her generation. Propaganda enjoyed chart success with hit singles like ‘Dr Mabuse’ and ‘Duel’ and their 1985 album ‘A Secret Wish’ is frequently cited as one of the landmark electronic pop albums of all time. • In subsequent years, along with collaborations with the likes of Wolfgang Flür (Kraftwerk), Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), ACT, Andrew Poppy, Andy Bell (Erasure), and Peter Hook (New Order). Claudia was most recently in the limelight fronting the reimagined xPropaganda whose 2022 album ‘The Heart Is Strange’ garnered ecstatic reviews and reached No. 11 in the UK album chart. •

On ‘Night Mirror’ Claudia is reunited with musical partner John Williams, whose work as a producer, writer, engineer, and record label head has seen him work with such luminaries as The Housemartins, Alison Moyet, Blancmange, Simple Minds and The Proclaimers. Contributing to the album are an accomplished series of musicians, whose credits include The Lighthouse Family, Cathy Dennis, Orlando Weeks (The Maccabees), and Kaiser Chiefs. • This LP release is presented on Dark Cherry vinyl. • This is a priority release for Demon, and we will be supporting with full retail, press, radio and online campaigns.

The buzz about the Crystal Teardrop that has been growing for the past two years looks set to reach fever pitch with the release of their debut album _IS FORMING. Featuring a dozen memorable compositions by the bands Alexandra Rose and Leon Jones, the album more than lives up to the promise of their 2024 single releases and their ecstatic live performances on stages across the UK and Europe. The band formed in Stoke-on-Trent in early 2023, "inspired," explains Alexandra Rose, "by a mutual passion for the sights, sounds and creative experimentation of the late 1960s." In addition to Alexandra on lead vocals on guitar, the band comprises Leon Jones (guitar, sitar), Stuart Gray (keyboards, Mellotron), Ed Quigley (bass, vocals), and Huw Woodward (drums, percussion). Intuitively blending elements of garage rock, folk-rock, power pop and psychedelia, the band have created an appealing concoction infused with their own perspectives and personalities. To best capture their sound, they recorded at an all-analogue facility, Tilehouse studio in North London, working closely with White Stripes producer Liam Watson of Toe Rag Studios fame.
