Zwei Jahre nach ihrem Album "Irregularis (The Great Hiatus)" aus dem Jahr 2023 melden sich Thee Headcoats mit einer neuen Platte zurück, die sich nahtlos in die Reihe ihrer besten Alben aus den 1990er Jahren einreiht. Wir präsentieren Ihnen stolz "The Sherlock Holmes Rhythm ,n` Beat Vernacular". Mit 12 fantastischen Stücken (oder Liedchen, wenn Sie so wollen), die letztes Jahr in den Ranscombe Studios in Rochester aufgenommen wurden. "The Sherlock Holmes Rhythm 'n' Beat Vernacular" erscheint am selben Tag wie "Man-Trap", das brandneue Album von Thee Headcoatees, auf dem die Jungs als Backing-Band fungieren. Hailing from the southwest of France, The Deweys is a flexible trio, evolving through encounters and invitations. Influenced by American folk, blues, and country music, the group has built its own identity and etched the names of its heroes, from Johnny Cash to Nick Cave, from Calexico to R.L. Burnside. On Windwalker, The Deweys have expanded the cinematic side of their universe by inviting a string quartet and a percussionist to form a temporary orchestra, The Black Cat Orchestra, dedicated entirely to the album"s songs. The result is a unique atmosphere, with an opening that pays homage to Ennio Morricone (El Camino Del Rey) and a conclusion that feels like something straight out of a musical (the duet The Gaslamp Memories). In between, you"ll find minimalist folk, psychedelic, Floydian blues, or a heartbreaking ballad... If you needed a soundtrack for a journey, inner or otherwise, Windwalker would be the right companion.

Valby Vokalgruppe was initiated in 2008 by Anja Jacobsen, the Danish collective’s current line-cup is completed by Lil Lacy, Sonja LaBianca, Cæcilie Trier and Laura Marie Madsen. The group has written and performed a large number of cross-aesthetic pieces over the years, including an album Bah New Era released in 2012 on Eget Værelse.

Sharpened to its core, the group dives deep into rhythmical architectures built almost solely from the voice - think Platonic solids reimagined as sound objects. Think trance without electronics. These new compositions are compressed, sparkling forms — vocal geometries that spin, collide, and dissolve through repetition. From inside the circle: radical precision, soft dissonance, and playful intuition guide the way. The group explores the voice not as melody alone, but as material — vibrating, modulating, refracting.

Solids For Voices transcends into deep concentration calling for a clear state of mind, in recognition of an increasingly fragmented and incoherent reality. Valby Vokalgruppe endeavours a total absorption into the voice, the rhythm and the trance.

Season of The Dead is a visceral, cinematic extreme metal project born from the twisted minds of Titta Tani (former drummer of Necrophagia and Goblin), Giacomo Anselmi (former Goblin guitarist and current member of Goblin Legacy), and Enrico Giannone, founder and owner of Time To Kill Records, acting as producer and visionary behind the entire concept. The idea is as brutal as it is clear: to resurrect the blood-soaked legacy of horror-infused death metal, channeling the rotten spirit of bands like Necrophagia, Mortician, and Fulci, while paying tribute to the grotesque imagery and raw energy of cult underground horror films. Influences range from Killjoy to City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, and Cannibal Holocaust, creating a soundscape that feels like a soundtrack to a lost VHS splatter nightmare.

Osaka-based producer and beat-maker Altz reinterprets and remixes Roland P. Young's spiritual jazz classic, Isophonic Boogie Woogie for the EM label!Intergenerational gene-splicing from EM. Roland Young's Isophonic Boogie Woogie, tripped-out minimalist spiritual free jazz from 1980 (previously reissued by EM as EM1045CD/LP), is here mutated, masticated and machined by Altz, renowned "organic electronicist" from Osaka. Maintaining and magnifying the cosmic bliss-vibe of the original release, Altz lovingly massages Young's sounds into the year 2009. Sounds are layered and treated, atmospheres extended, and propulsive elements from Young's original recordings are bolstered (there is some fine drumming here from former Boredoms drummer Muneomi Senju). Altz also respects Young's more absract side, following the elder master into atmospheres of freedom, unrestrained by the gravity of the beat and the conventions of the dance floor.

The latest cracking release on Bob Stanley's MEASURED MILE label pairs two long lost sides from Bobbie Gentry’s brief stay with Warner Brothers in the 1970s. ‘Thunder In The Afternoon’ (as played out by the formidable Bill Brewster) and the equally sultry ‘Slow Cookin’’ match Gentry's smoky voice to essential mellow 70s grooves.

It sounds like the cream of the west coast playing behind her, but both of these recordings are from sessions that are almost entirely unreleased, so we can't be sure.

In den 1960er Jahren zählten der Hammond-Organist und der Gitarrist zweifelsfrei zu den prägendsten
und populärsten Jazzmusikern. Bei den gemeinsamen Sessions für ”The Dynamic Duo” wurden die beiden
Virtuosen 1966 von einer nicht minder dynamischen Big Band unter der Leitung des Meisterarrangeurs

Frank Sinatras legendäres Balladen-Album “In The Wee Small Hours“ von 1955, ein ikonisches Werk, das
dieses Jahr sein 70. Jubiläum feiert.
Obwohl das Album schon viele Male auf LP und CD veröffentlicht wurde, dürfen die Hörer sich auf eine
Überraschung einstellen. Joe Harley, der „Tone Poet“ schwärmt: „Der Unterschied in der Wiedergabetreue
ist umwerfend. Der Klang ist erstaunlich… Frank ist quasi mit dem Hörer zusammen im Raum. Es ist, als
hätte sich ein Schleier gelüftet“.
Wie bei der Serie üblich wurden alle Produktionsschritte von Joe Harley persönlich überwacht, Kevin Gray
hat bei Cohearent Audio von den analogen Bändern gemastert, das Ergebnis wurde bei Record Technology
Inc. (RTI) auf 180-g-Vinyl gepresst und erscheint in einer luxuriösen Gatefold-Hülle mit Session-Fotos von
William Claxton und Ken Veeder sowie einem Essay von Rita Kirwan.
