Son Mieux is a collective formed around Dutch singer, songwriter & producer Camiel Meiresonne. Once the keyboard player in Soul Sister Dance Revolution and in his young years frontman of All Missing Pieces. After playing in bands since he was eleven years old, he is now a grown young man, ready to invite the world into his own. Son Mieux writes his songs in the after hours, which make his songs both intimate & alive. By combining folk, indie and electronic music, he manages to create a unique sound and to process the expressions of his personality in his music.

The past two years have been an accumulation of highlights for Son Mieux. Single 'Even' became 3FM Megahit, debut EP 'Vice Versa' (2016) was streamed more than 6 million times and the song 'Easy' was used under major advertising campaigns from ING, McDonalds and Deezer. The band toured the country with sold-out club shows, festivals such as Zwarte Cross and Where The Wild Things Are.

In 2017 and 2018 they took their time to write the debut album. With singles 'Hiding', 'Everyday' and 'Old Love', the debut album Faire de Son Mieux makes a more mature and fuller sound. Together with producer Thijs van der Klugt (Douwe Bob, Sue the Night), a deepening was sought without losing the characteristic Son Mieux sound.

Disperú is the first independent record label in Peru and South America that was founded and run by a woman. In the space of five years Rebeca Llave turned not only Disperú into a successful company but also transformed it into an amplifier and showcase for unique Peruvian popular music projects including the raw, wild and visceral sound of Los Saicos, 60s punk pioneers. This compilation comprises 14 amazing tracks, ranging from cumbia or boogaloo to beat and garage, to celebrate the music legacy of this unique pioneer woman. Disperú was founded at a key moment for Peruvian popular music. In 1965 young Peruvians were gaining prominence in society and the entertainment industry. The hangover of the 'new wave', with its balladeers, persisted on the radio and television, but rock bands were also emerging, inspired by what was happening musically in Liverpool and on the beaches of California. Guided by her ability to spot talent and target what she perceived as commercial prospects, Rebeca signed up an impressive lineup of artists. Several of which would move on to bigger labels, after 'the girl with the charming smile' had set them on the recording road to fame. Besides gathering young rockers (Los Saicos, Jean Paul El Troglodita_) and new wave bands (Los 4 Brillantes, Golden Boys_) under its umbrella, Disperú also ventured into coastal and Andean music from Peru and tropical music (Chano Scotty y su Combo Latino, Toño y sus Sicodélicos_).

Following on from his atomic single release, Phonk On The Dancefloor, Sofia’s Raredub now presents his highly anticipated full EP via Mutual Pleasure Records. Rare, Raw and Ready is a high-voltage introduction to the Bulgarian bass baron, a title that is fully justified with this latest venture of sound.

Raredub wastes no time in setting the pace for this project, as we’re thrown straight into the searing furnace with opening track BAMBA. Having been road-tested by the likes of KETTAMA, KiNK, Skin On Skin and Raredub himself, BAMBA, with its infectious vocals, gut-hurdling bassline and devious rave-stab melodies, is a carefully constructed weapon of sound, with proven devastating results.

We’re then brought to Juicy Fruit, which sees both Raredub and Mutual Pleasure’s head-honcho Partiboi69 lock palms to create a deeply sensual, highly contagious dance-floor anthem that sees the producer masterfully blend hissing hi-hats and a series of infectious rising chord patterns and melodies which, when combined, are certainly set to cause nothing but dance-floor destruction.

Since being played as the opening track to Partibo69 and DJ Heartstring’s stingzone set, L.L.L is a track which, with its mind-warping bassline,euphoria ladened vocals and pad-work, has enjoyed a growing sense of anticipation from listeners, eager for its arrival.

Snappy Chulo sees Raredub again use a series of piercing rave-stabs to drive his sound, which is partnered with a plethora of electronic experimentation and instrumentation, before the seismic bassline of Break Of Dawn see Raredub bring the walls and ceiling crumbling down; presenting a suitably fitting finale to this atomic attack on the senses.

Drawing from her compositions for Helena Wittmann's film DRIFT (2017), Nika Son creates a sonic journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Following a weekend at the North Sea, one of Wittmann's two protagonists embarks on a journey across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, during which unpredictable waves and deep sleep foster a transformative experience. Capturing the essence of this cinematic encounter through sound, Nika Son's compositions allow the water itself to become a storyteller, immersing listeners in the resonating body of the boat and plunging them into the profound depth of the ever-shifting ocean. Whether illuminated by daylight or veiled by night, the nature of this material world emerges through an exploration of the ocean as a distinct and tangible space, inviting contemplation of its transformative power. The line between reality and imagination blurs, and the waves echo the emotions of the voyage.

The phrase "Once in a lifetime" is sometimes used carelessly to accentuate the importance of an event. But it was truly a unique occasion when the orchestras of Duke Ellington and Count Basie got together in the studio to record together for the first (and last) time. The Duke Ellington and Count Basie (both playing the piano) orchestras had already been competitors for 25 years but the leaders' mutual admiration (Ellington was one of Basie's main idols) and some brilliant planning made this a very successful and surprisingly uncrowded encounter. The result is almost an embarrassment of riches. Limited edition on solid orange & solid white vinyl. "First Time! 1981, the leaden years are over, the socialist left is in power in France and the first wave of punk seems a long way off. However, the youth of the day had not said its last word, and bands were springing up all over the place, free radio stations were opening up, fanzines were being published, concerts were being staged on the fly and little by little a scene was forming, a motley crew of kids in revolt, radical activists and just plain old folk passing through.

After having cut their teeth in a variety of more or less confidential bands, in which you'd come across a good number of players from this up-and-coming alternative scene, the members of Guernica moved up a gear, determined to blow on the still-glowing embers of rebel rock. With the shortage of venues the rule at the time, they began by scouring the suburban MJCs, putting on wild concerts and eventually meeting up with the squatters of the Couronnes commune and the members of V.I.S.A., with whom they played an active part in organising concerts in squatted buildings in these relegated areas of the capital.

In February 1983, the V.I.S.A. association and the Abattoir art collective (which included some members of Guernica) organised a concert at the Usine Pali-Kao. That evening, two groups took to the stage in succession: Guernica and a fledgling duo, Bérurier Noir. The evening will go down in the history of alternative rock as one of the key turning points of the period. After the departure of Loran, who played guitar with both bands, Fabrice Benoît joined Guernica on guitar, and the gang continued for a few more months, ending on a high note with a chaotic concert at the Eldorado in Paris.

Until now, it's been impossible to get your hands on any of the band's recordings unless you're lucky enough to own the Paris Mix compilation, the Guernica/Bérurier Noir split or the V.I.S.A. Usine Cascades 1982 cassette. This vinyl, a perfect record of the era, brings together the six tracks recorded by the band at the time.

Combining elements of post-rock, trip-hop, and industrial music, HAAL have quickly become cult favourites in the UK live scene. Their psychotropic blend of samples, DIY pedals, and monolithic instrumentation, has seen the band play and tour alongside the likes of Kyoto Kyoto, WEB, Deliluh, Treeboy & Arc, Katy J Pearson, and Gurriers, as well as appearing at festivals such as ArcTanGent, Dot To Dot and more. Coming off the heels of their recent singles “Janus” and “Judy” (and subsequent remixes by Water From My Eyes and Crimewave), the new EP “Back To Shilmarine” arrives as a blistering snapshot of the band’s protean dynamism.

The band celebrate their late-90s / early-00s influences in a caustic yet melodic blend of tracks that nod as much to the output of labels such as Dischord, Touch & Go, and Nothing Records, as they do their contemporaries in the UK scene such as SCALER, Famous, deathcrash, and LICE. The EP sees them bring all these touchstones together to create a unique and uninhibited maelstrom of sound that spans everything from intricate math-inflected guitar lines and pensive vocals to propulsive drumming, totemic riffing, and warped synths.

Arguably some of HAAL’s heaviest material to date, “Platform 1, 18:19” offers the first look into this new material melding motorik rhythms and hypnotic riffs with sudden explosions of noise and power. However, as ever with HAAL, there is more than meets the eye – the track also features samples completely abstracted from their sources, for instance, the drone that begins the song is taken from a video of frontman Alfie Hay and his friends beating Bop It.

Elsewhere on the EP, the lyrics explore themes of cosmic existentialism, absurdism, meaning, transhumanism, inner reflection, science, history, and general philosophy. “All the lyrics are musings or verses that I wrote at very different times in my life” says Hay. “I then had to fit them around the music, despite being written at wildly different periods.” The record was once again recorded with long-time collaborator Alfie Tyson Brown (Katy J Pearson, LICE, Lazarus Kane) at The Louisiana in Bristol. The band have a tight knit collaborative circle around them, this is particularly notable around the band’s imagery

Lattimore inventive harp processing and looping has brought the instrument to a new audience. Her prolific run of celestial solo albums and evocative film scores have redefined the instrument in the modern consciousness. Her genre-agnostic collaborations include work with Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn, Jeff Zeigler, Meg Baird, and Thurston Moore. McClements, who tours as a member of Weyes Blood, is an acclaimed composer in his own right, sculpting glacial atmospherics from the accordion. The Los Angeles based duo became quick friends on overlapping tours, sharing both a drive to push the sonic possibilities of their instruments and roots in North Carolina. Recorded in the cozy setting of McClements" apartment during a rainy December in LA, Rain on the Road unfurls as a series of sonic vignettes, rolling landscapes hewn from longform improvisations for harp and accordion. Embellished with additional instrumentation such as the shimmering constellations of hand bells on "Stolen Bells" that glisten like lights on wet pavement, or the stately piano figures on "The Top of Thomas Street"; their pastoral pieces manage to paint vivid images.

Unter der Leitung des erfahrenen Produzenten Brian McTernan gibt es auf Vows hochkarätige Gastauftritte von Thrice, Dallas Green (City and Colour // Alexisonfire), The Interrupters, Daniel Fang und Brendan Yates (Turnstile) und Popeye Vogelsang (Calling Hours // ex-Farside). Drei Jahrzehnte, 10 Alben und immer noch ein fester Pfeiler des amerikanischen Punks - Hot Water Music sind nach wie vor eine Quelle des Einflusses und der Inspiration für Bands auf der ganzen Welt. Drei Jahrzehnte, 10 Alben und immer noch ein fester Pfeiler des amerikanischen Punks - Hot Water Music sind nach wie vor eine Quelle des Einflusses und der Inspiration für Bands auf der ganzen Welt. Auf dem kommenden Album Vows bleibt das Ziel der Band dasselbe wie immer: kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung mit einem scharfen Blick in die Zukunft. "Das Thema, das während der Arbeit an diesem Album immer wieder auftauchte, war das Wachstum - wie das Schreiben eines Songs, die Aufnahme eines Albums oder das Dasein in einer Band so ist, als würde man einen Samen pflanzen und ihm beim Wachsen helfen", so die Band. "Wir denken, dass das viel damit zu tun hat, dass wir zurückblicken und erkennen, dass wir es in 30 Jahren geschafft haben, etwas Besonderes zu schaffen, das wir alle wirklich lieben" Darüber hinaus markiert "Vows" ein weiteres brillantes Kapitel in der fortgesetzten Zusammenarbeit mit dem gefeierten Produzenten und Hardcore-Legende Brian McTernan, der mit der Band an "A Flight And A Crash" (2001), "Caution" (2002) und "The New What Next" (2004) gearbeitet hat, die oft als Hot Water Music-Klassiker bezeichnet werden. Ohne zu wissen, wie es weitergeht, begann die Band mit dem Schreiben der neuen Songs mit der einfachen Absicht, Musik zu veröffentlichen, um diesen hart erarbeiteten Meilenstein zu feiern, sei es eine Single, eine EP oder ein ganzes Album. Sie waren sich jedoch absolut sicher, dass sie keine neue Platte nur um der Sache willen machen wollten; diese Platte musste aufregend, unerbittlich und vor allem notwendig sein. "Jeder hat viel Zeit damit verbracht, über die Reise nachzudenken, die uns hierher gebracht hat, und darüber nachzudenken, was wir von nun an tun wollen, während wir dieses Album machen", fasst die Band zusammen. "Wir hoffen, dass sich dieses Album für jeden, der es hört, wie eine Feier unserer Geschichte und Zukunft anfühlt. Das ist es definitiv und so fühlt es sich für uns an."

Limitierte Jubiläumsauflage der 2014er Xiu Xiu-LP "Unclouded Sky" auf weiss-silberfarbigem Vinyl. Das von Shahzad Ismaily in Sigur Rós' Studio auf Island produzierte Album enthält neun mit einer 1953er Silvertone-Gitarre aufgenommenen Interpretationen amerikanischer und karibischer Spirituals, die ursprünglich zwischen 1850-1920 komponiert wurden, und zusätzlich mit Field Recordings versehen sind, die Xiu Xiu-Frontmann Jamie Stewart im Dschungel von Guyana machte.

Der Dancefloor ist vereint, wenn I. JORDAN an den Decks stehen. Auf ihrem lang erwarteten Debütalbum, „I AM JORDAN“ zelebrieren die britischen Elektronikproduzenten fröhlich die kollektive Ekstase als eine Form der Selbstfindung. „Auf diesem Album geht es um Freude.“, sagen I. JORDAN. „Es geht um meine Freude als Trans-Person und um die Freude von Trans-Personen im Allgemeinen, mit Trans-Personen zu arbeiten und gemeinsam diese lustige Musik zu machen.“ Mit diesem Ziel fängt die Platte die Glückseligkeit und Dynamik eines wilden I. JORDAN-Sets ein. Mit ihrer langen Erfahrung als DJs und Produzierende, gibt es schwindelerregende Hommagen an nordische Dance-Sounds wie Donk und Hardstyle, euphorischen Trance und House und viel Raum für Entdeckungen. Entscheidend ist, dass die Platte als persönliches Tanzmusiktagebuch fungiert und eine Zeit des Umbruchs markiert. Nach gemeinsamen Tracks mit Fred Again..., Planningtorock und SHERELLE, Remix-Arbeiten mit Fever Ray, Romy und Eliza Roze und einer Handvoll viel beachteter EPs bleibt das Album dank des persönlichen Gewichts und der musikalischen Breite I. JORDANs größtes Unterfangen. Es folgt auch auf hohe Anerkennung für ihre Arbeit als DJ im Jahr 2023, einschließlich einer Nominierung für den Best DJ Award bei den „DJ Mags Best of British“-Awards 2023, einer Nominierung für den AIM Breakthrough Artist 2023 und einer Platzierung auf Platz 8 bei Mixmags „Top 25 DJs who Defined the Year 2023“.
Trotz ihres eigenen Titels ist „I AM JORDAN“ ein Produkt ihrer Gemeinschaft, wie I. JORDAN erklären. „Jeder ist miteinander verbunden, und die Vorstellung, ein Individuum zu sein, ist ein Mythos... Ich wäre nicht der, der ich bin, ohne alle anderen um mich herum.
