Side A features Protest Song. If music is a way of transporting us to other places, Protest Song takes us to a desolate, scary and loveless environment, a burnt-down, burnt-out place where the flesh of its former inhabitants is smouldering, void of goodwill and kindness in a cloud of toxic and greedy smoke. It's all Kafka and Orwell and Suffering - the most twisted and eerie track so far in The Golden Ravedays saga. What is undeniably clear is an acute sense of regret and loss - a warning that it could have been avoided, had we only listened to our hearts and protested.
In the same vein on Side B we hear powerful Resistance. Produced after the Paris attacks of 2015 Superpitcher outdid himself with this strong message of Resistance. Where Protest Song paints a picture of under-worldly doom, Resistance's techno beat and insistent refrain sweeps us to the surface of the muck of hatred and intolerance we've politically been dumped in. A voice that seems like a trapped animal is calling out to us. What is it trying to say Is it crying out for help Is that animal all of us Resistance represents hope and encouragement and could be the perfect marching track to any demonstration against negative forces. Much needed in this age of bigotry where it seems like time has leaped backwards to a darker side of history. As for the dancefloor - Resistance is irresistible!

Conceptual Records presents you its third vinyl only release Univers Parallele written by a music producer from Canada, Montreal Claire. Following the 2 previous sell out singles on Reed Records Mohawkestra return with a third salvo of the British Invasion flavour Funk! 'Heart Full of Soul b/w West Coast Boogaloo' available on 7' vinyl and download.

Heart Full of Soul was originally recorded by legendary British group The Yardbirds at a point when Jeff Beck joined and introduced Fuzz peddles and Guitar effects to their recordings. Mohawkestra's arrangement is an instrumental burst of heavy Organ and Guitar driven Funk that we've come to expect for their version and again they don't disappoint!

The flip side is a Mohawkestra original titled West Coast Boogaloo which would be right at home in a Jazzy lounge in California in the 60's, perfectly capturing the West Coast Jazz sound filtered through musicians playing in a British basement studio with a 50 year delay.

The third record by Vienna-based label Secret Crunch is ready to be unleashed. This time with various artists from all over Europe.
The A-Side kicks off with Sameed, one of Manchester's most promising artists. He delivers a funky and colourful track called - Pho' with uplifting chords and great sampling, while sharing his impressions and vibes he collected during his stay in Vietnam.
Then the synth-driven - As I' by Kian T brings you that special portion of wonkyness. The Italian stallion doesn't fail to impress with his passionate production skills and will surely get your audience moving.On the B-Side we are happy to present a collaboration by Jonna and Lady Blacktronicka. Our friend from Leicester and co-founder of City fly Records teamed up with the Californian First Lady of Deep House, coming up with this raw deepness, that is - You Make Me Do Things'.

The first track, Toxic Masculinity, is a punching tune haracterized by raw drums, rough synth and break sequencies. Second track, the UVB Testosterone mix, represents the masculinity killer track, with a screaming human being in a dark environment.Third track, Snakecharmer, is the anthem killer track characterized by acid and big room sounds.Neurotic X represents the other side of the label where the artist experiments his tone bringing you in a post industrial and wave scenario.

Coming off of EP releases on Dynamic Reflection and 100% Pure, Uun returns to his label Ego Death for it's third release, and it's first on vinyl. The title track references Carl Sagan's classic work of skepticism Demon Haunted World. It features a percussive attack that builds into a swirling tornado of distorted synths and hihats. The Scarlet Martyr takes a different approach that is heavy on pads and atmospheric elements all over a bed of field recordings. The B side starts with NX1's remix of the title track. This interpretation chops up the synth and percussive elements into a broken beat onslaught that builds into the track being deconstructed piece by piece. The final track Dominions continues in the broken beat direction with a more straightforward dancefloor approach. The third release of the vinyl only label Another Earth is upon us and it's all about techno. Esther Duijn combines 2 acts together in a Split EP series which compliment each others sound. For this release Esther selected two notorious European techno producers she adores, Opuswerk and Lee Holman. On the A side Opuswerk delivers 2 deep driving techno tracks. RF Thruster basically expands from beginning to end. This constant propulsion has a deep impact on any dance floor. He drew inspiration from Jeff Mills and Planetary Assault Systems for this particular track. EmDrive starts with an atmospheric intro and morphs into one epic build up that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. On the flip side Lee Holman bangs 2 deep and firm techno grooves like there is no tomorrow. While Adaptive Optics is rough on the edges it does pay attention to small details which make the track very dynamic. Absorption Lines puts the emphasis on a warmer atmosphere. Side A features Blood and Berry.

It is a captivating track that reminds one of the very first years when Superpitcher made music under the alias Sir Positive.

The beat is broken and the going is slow and rolling and the listening is a warm bath. There are flutes there that one never wants to stop and they almost don't. However essentially sweet this track is, like a berry on the tongue, it might lead to some blood on the dance floor!
Listening to Side B of this Golden Ravedays edition is entering a ghost town, alone, under a full moon.

Howl is a confluence of melodies and rhythms from Africa to Arabia where the snakes are being charmed out of their baskets and it is downright creepy.

A spooky voice is saying something but we don't know what exactly and it is bothersome because deep down we know that tonight when we are alone in the dark, we should be ready with the answer - or else.

All we can do is wonder:

Did Superpitcher sell his soul to the vampires for the vocals he let lose in this track

He answers by howling at the full moon behind thorn trees, in the shadows.

It has nothing to do with George Orwell's magnificent book but it could remind some of how the apocalypse might sound one day.

1984 is as sweet as the very first track, Little Raver, of The Golden Ravedays album but it stresses the fact that even though Superpitcher produces music mainly intended for the dance floor, he creates sound that is bordering on the shamanic.

1984 might as well be the meeting of a group of supersonic bottlenose whales that are overly excited to see each other after being separated by many an ocean and moon.

Side B of this edition brings us Pocket Love.

Arthur Forests name should be more widely known in the world of dance music, the man lent his expert to touch to more than one classic record emanating from Detroit during his time and has quietly left an indelible fingerprint on House and Techno history. Marcel Dettmann has mixed the latest edition of the highly respected DJ-Kicks compilation series.
Whilst Dettmann is well-known for his incendiary sets at his residency at Berghain, his DJ-Kicks mix is crafted for listening, and displays a more reflective side of the DJ and producer. The mix explores a wide array of selections from various subgenres; ranging from the a new vocal-led Strictly Rhythm release, to rapping on Clarence G's 1991 release 'Cause I Said It Right', recently reissued by Clone Records.
Over the course of its 1hr 14 duration, Dettmann reveals multiple new original productions; most notably a collaboration with Levon Vincent, 'Can You See It'. The pair have collaborated once in the past, releasing 'Vengeance' on Levon's own Novel Sound label towards the end of 2015 to critical acclaim. 'Can You See It' sees the duo venture into darker territory; a stripped back, sub-bass laden affair, the quality of this production immediately stands out in the early stages of the mix.
Dettmann also collaborates with MDR affiliate Wincent Kunth on 'Possible Step'. In addition to five brand new original Dettmann remixes and edits, there's an unreleased remix of Marcel's 'Let's Do It' from Ostgut Ton labelmate Rolando.
