Plant43 wrote a trio of EPs over the winter season at the end of 2022 and the start of 23 and has been putting them out on his own Plant43 Recordings label.

Lithe electro rhythms and icy synths open up on 'Tidal Flexing' while 'Reflective Waves' gets a little darker and more intense. 'System's Edge' is a celestial cruise with quick, slick drums and masterful leads then 'Mind Drift' channels Drexcyian cyborg funk to close. The final part of the story comes on coloured vinyl but only in limited quantities.

Blues Deluxe Vol 2 is a brand-new studio album, that starts off with 'Twenty-Four Hour Blues', a cover of the amazing Bobby "Blue" Bland song. The original is releases on one of Joe Bonamassa's favorite albums of all time, "Dreamer". Blues Deluxe Vol. 2 features eight cover versions of songs by artists, such as Fleetwood Mac, Guitar Slim, Albert King and more. The album is completed with two original tracks, Hope You Realize It (Goodbye Again) and Is It Safe To Go Home.
It is a true successor to the original Blues Deluxe album.

From the grey-skied isles and horse farms of British Columbia comes the second volume of Crystal Dorval aka White Poppy’s “Paradise Gardens” trilogy: Sound Of Blue.

Originally conceived back in 2016, the album was then recorded, finessed, abandoned, resurrected, overdubbed, and finally mixed into nine refinements of daydream shoegaze and therapeutic pop, born from bedroom epiphanies and long winters of the heart.

From slowdive reverie (“Apathy,” “Melancholic Serenity”) and color wheel psychedelia (“Time”) to spiral chorale (“Happy”) and finger-picked drift (“Wiser”), Dorval’s songcraft moves between escape and acceptance, tracing delicate melodies from undercurrents of loss, light, and solitude. It’s music for memory gardens and pastel horizons, dreaming of bliss and distance, but bound to the here and now: “Thinking about leaving here forever / thinking about leaving here for good / but I keep holding on for something / hoping that it could get better than this / what’s one more night?”

A2 sees ADHD back in action with some gritty 303 action on his track Troublemaker. On the flip Andrey Sitrus goes for a classic 303 builder on the B1, with Acid Steve finishing the E.P. with some trademark squat party style 'Avinit' acid techno mayhem.

Directly from Brazil, Data Assault steps up to deliver a fast paced 5 track EP, featuring a remix from the outstanding Martinelli. The artist has a solid career of sonic experimentations that are fueled by a radical stance, with productions that inevitably find their way into clubs and sound systems all around the globe. Besides producing his own parties that have been making waves in the local scene in Brasilia.

"Dor e Miseria" is inspired by the Brazilian socio-political disaster which occured from 2018 to 2022, bringing beats treated with lots of compression and distortion, accompanied with aggressive vocal chops and melancholic pads. His fierce production style is joined by Martinelli, who's remix completes the picture and makes an interpretation that delivers everything with a simple approach, combining 808 drums, funky basslines and an impeccable percussive movement.

"Movida Pelo Odio" e "Euforia Sinistra" discharge influences from the dirtiest beats of Grime and 8-Bar Techno, with aggressive synths interspersed by acidic elements that dominate the sonic image of the EP. The last track "Furia Funk" closes with heavily compressed and saturated 909 drums, and 303 acid lines screaming loudly.

Mistaken Identity is the second studio album by Australian singer Delta Goodrem. For his debut solo release on Not An Animal, label co-pilot Andy Bainbridge serves up a raw, late-night house dub, accompanied by sizzling remixes from Donald’s House & Komodo for good measure.

Up Too Much starts simply, evoking house classics of old. Dubby percussion sets the genre but don’t be fooled, the Buchla synth wobbles that form the track’s melody, delicately placed acid sprinkles and a vocal garnish A-typical to the host label bring the track squarely into the modern day to form a tough yet gentle roller.

Next off the pass is the Donald’s House remix, finely weaving the essence of the original mix into a proggy sidewinder, highlighting the acid arps previously lurking in the background and slowly melting the track into a delicious trancey mess.

Meanwhile Komodo kicks things off in a classic Chicago style; claps, stabs and all, with vocal samples adding that extra texture for the knockout punch.

Natalie Beridze is a Georgian artists, composer and songwriter, in Georgia she is considered to be pioneer of Georgian electronic music. In Natalie's words "Spines" resembles her recollection of driving on the backseat of a car, looking at ever changing lanscape flying by. 'Brand New Friend release their new album Grandstand. Orions Belte has been a steady supplier of groovy, catchy and dreamy instrumental pop since their 2018 debut album Mint. Women is their third studio album, but that doesn’t tell the whole truth when you also count their two live albums with accompanying films, three EP’s and a huge project where each of the members released their own solo album under the Orions Belte moniker. The three musicians rarely sit still, and the inspiration seems to be endless. This is probably also why their music is in such high demand. As usual, all the songwriting and production is done by the band members themselves, and this time they have put a lot of effort into making everything bigger and more powerful than on the previous records. The string arrangements flow easily throughout the record. It almost feels like releasing a million balloons all at once while lying looking at the night sky and dreaming of road trips on bumpy country roads through the Amazon in Brazil. There is always a great span to the Norwegian trio's songs, and on Women we are served noisy guitar riffs on "Silhouettes", cinematic string arrangements on "I Will Always Miss You", irresistible and catchy summer vibes on "Jai Alai", while Louien (Live Solberg) contributes beautiful vocals on the almost mournful "When You're Gone, I'll Be Gone". Matias Tellez is – as expected of an Orions Belte release – involved in the mix, while Ola Kvernberg and Øyvind Torvund have written string arrangements.

Attentat have been going strong since 1978, but as they were working on this album things came to a
crashing halt when vocalist Jönsson ended up in a coma. The whole experience ended up just
strengthening the band's resolve to plow through. Jönsson recovered in record time, the band
replaced both a few songs and a member and ended up with a banger! Swedish singalong punk rock
reminiscent of classic English bands like Buzzcocks and The Clash as well as later US groups like
Rancid and Social Distortion with a little bit of Slade and Sweet sprinkled on top.

Dessa, the rapper, singer, writer, academic, and all-around polymath, who NPR hailed as a “national treasure,” will release her first solo full-length album in five years, Bury the Lede, September 29th, 2023 on Doomtree Records. It’s an eleven-track project of hard-hitting rap verses, big, catchy pop hooks, and a couple melancholic tracks. Dessa (an anthropology and psychology-enthusiast whose 2018 album, Chime, was inspired by neuroscience) conceptualized Bury the Lede as an examination of human nature and mortality. Reflecting on the pleasure-seeking and loss-aversion that define us as a species, the album ultimately endorses a Camus-with-a-lime-twist take on life. “It’s about indulging in a measure of hedonism even as the threat on the horizon mounts … Survival is, at best, indefinite. So maybe get a cocktail with an umbrella in it,” says Dessa.
The new album leans into the light more than past projects–more moments of levity and abandon, more danceable–but it’s still very much a product of Dessa’s lyrical style, writerly and multi-layered, and meticulous.
Executively produced with longtime collaborators and friends Lazerbeak (Doomtree, Lizzo) and Andy Thompson (Taylor Swift, Dan Wilson), Dessa and company’s indie-rock, soul, and Swedish-pop inflected rap on Bury the Lede create an album that’s hard to imagine hearing from anyone else. And, despite the wide range of influences, it’s also one of Dessa’s most cohesive albums to date.

Benno Bings, Till Schomburg und Gregor Zenns lernten sich in ihrer Berliner Stadtrandjugend kennen. Schließlich stießen Camillo Kießig und Julian Colin dazu. Letzterer fungiert ebenfalls als Produzent und arbeitete bereits mit Künstlern wie Tristan Brusch oder Trille zusammen und betreibt heute ein analoges Tonstudio in Neukölln. "Kann ja alles sein" kommt im warmen Klanggewand vom Folk und Rock der 70er daher, aber die Songs sind individuelle Maßanfertigungen in modernem Schnitt. Accessoires von Surf-, Desert-, Krautrock und New Wave schlenkern über einem unbeirrten, aber unzuverlässigen Takt.

On October 15th & 16th 2020, drummed Daniel Villarreal was joined by guitarist Jeff Parker and bassist Anna Butterss for two afternoons of recording in the backyard of Chicali Outpost in Los Angeles. For all three musicians, it was the first ensemble recording session they"d done in-person since the pandemic locked the world down just seven months prior. Some choice moments from the sessions made it onto Villarreal"s critically-acclaimed 2022 album Panamá 77, bust most of the music remained unreleased. Lados B is a deep dive into the high-level spontaneous music made by Villarreal, Parker and Butterss across those two days in 2020. Villarreal is heard leading the group through various rhythmic modes and structures for improvisation - flow as informed by the Latin soul of Fania Records as it is by the otherworldly trance of Brain Records - while Parker and Butterss draw on their extensive experience playing free together (as heard on Parker"s recently-released Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, and the LA side of Makaya McCraven"s 2018 LP Universal Beings) to build harmonic buoys for their spontaneous melodicism. The result is a beautifully vivid illustration of context, creativity, and collective composition from a particularly rich moment in history.

Als Leon bereit war, ins Aufnahmestudio zu gehen, lud er seine Freunde von Les Ambassadeurs Internationaux ein, ihm als Begleitband zu dienen; aus dieser Zusammenarbeit gingen zwei Platten hervor, die beide 1978 auf dem Label Papa Disco veröffentlicht wurden. Ein Jahr später veröffentlichte Leon "Rythmes et Mélodies du Mali", das er gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Germain geschrieben hatte und das vom großartigen Orchestre Black Santiago begleitet wurde. Obwohl Leon nicht viele Soloaufnahmen gemacht hat, erwecken seine Lieder weiterhin die Verehrung aller, die das Glück haben, sie zu hören. In den letzten Jahren wurde der Song "Dalaka" von Carlos Estrada, dem Betreiber des Soundsystems in Barranquilla, wiederentdeckt und wurde zu einem unerwarteten Hit an der kolumbianischen Karibikküste. Directed by Manuela Martelli, the movie premiered at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes in 2022 and has been collecting awards, among them Tokyo, BFI London, Athens and Jerusalem International Film Festival.

Portugal combines analog synthesizers (especially ARP - 2600 and Moogs) with brass and wind instruments to create a pungent score which evolves together with the character in the movie, in a process of continuous humanization in which artificial becomes human.

The score have the participation of the Rotterdam - based french hornist Romain Bly (Bonsai Panda), the Brazilians Maria Beraldo and Joana Queiroz (Quartabê) on clarinets and bass clarinets, and the german tubist Carl Ludwig Hübsch. The improvisations by both Beraldo on clarinets and Hübsch on Tuba have a very special importance within the written score.

Eine der dienstältesten, deutschen Oi-Punk Bands feiert ihr Jubiläum mit einem brandneuem Album… eigentlich haben sie es knapp verpasst: 41 Jahre HERBÄRDS, da darf man sich zurecht als "Alte Strassenköter" bezeichnen. 1982 gegründet, veröffentlichen die Stuttgarter mit "Eu se Bois" ihr Debutalbum, was zurecht bis heute als ungehobeltes, rotzfreches Kultalbum gilt. Das Nachfolgewerk "Wakos" bekam vom Label das Branding "German Oi Attacke" und nach einem schwerem Motorradunfall von Sänger "TEK" löste sich die Band auf, um kurz vor der Jahrtausendwende mit dem dritten Album "Wir sind zurück" reanimiert zu werden. 2017 dann ein neues Kapitel mit der Buchpräsentation und Ausstellung "Wie der Punk nach Stuttgart kam" und ein neues Lebenszeichen mit der Mini-LP "Oi!
