Mit Taiga Trans legt das schwedische Kollektiv Fauna ein Debütalbum vor, das unmittelbar in seinen Bann zieht: ein hypnotischer Mix aus krautrockender Motorik, psychedelischer Ritualenergie und der pulsierenden Wucht eines nächtlichen Raves. Die neun Musikerinnen und Musiker erschaffen einen Klangraum, der gleichzeitig archaisch und hypermodern wirkt - ein Ort, an dem traditionelle Instrumente und elektronische Texturen ineinandergreifen und ein multisensorisches Musikerlebnis formen. Elektronische Windgeräusche, feine perkussive Muster, das sirrende Schnalzen einer Maultrommel und die flirrenden Linien des türkischen Saz treffen auf verzerrte Gitarren, tiefen Bassdruck und vier-Viertel-Grooves. Fauna verbindet diese Elemente zu einer energiegeladenen Soundreise, die sich jenseits kultureller und zeitlicher Grenzen bewegt. Die Wurzeln des Projekts liegen in freien Jams des Gitarristen Tommie Ek und Bassisten Ibrahim Shabo, dessen syrischer Hintergrund ebenso in die Musik hineinwirkt wie die französischen, finnischen, polnischen, schwedischen und türkischen Einflüsse der anderen Mitglieder. Vocals in gebrochenem Arabisch, Schwedisch und Französisch verstärken die tranceartige Wirkung der Kompositionen, ohne sich in eindeutige Bedeutungen zu drängen. Taiga Trans destilliert die improvisatorische Live-Energie der Band in acht verdichtete Stücke, die gleichermaßen clubtauglich wie spirituell aufgeladen wirken. HOLY GRAIL ALERT!!! Following on 2021’s massive reboot of Midnight Magic’s seminal classic Beam Me Up, Razor-N-Tape have now unearthed a bit of NYC indie disco history with 'I Found Love.'

Although recorded over 10 years ago in Midnight Magic’s nascent early period that produced many of their legendary hits, the song never received an official release; until now it has been heard only by select ears and lucky concert-goers. The package comes with a grip of luminous remixes by Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca, Sophie Lloyd, Perel, some solicited at the time of recording and some brand new, but all exceptionally fresh!

“'I Found Love' was recorded in a fever on the heels of releasing 'Beam Me Up' New York dance music wizard Tommie Sunshine approached us about a co-write saying we should go as big as possible. So we did, it is one of our all time favorite vocal performances from our singer, Tiffany Roth. We had big plans, too, for a release but nothing quite felt right until meeting the Razor N Tape crew almost a decade later. Finally the stage is set, the lights are on, and we're ready. This song is very special to us because it is the last unreleased recording of our original lineup. We dedicate its release to our late bandmates Andrew Frawley and Jason Disu.”

As the Sixties came to a close and the initial success of labels like Atlantic and Motown began to wane, there remained a dedicated fanbase of Soul devotees who would rather be out on the floor than wearing flowers in their hair. They continued to seek out new and previously overlooked releases, many on small labels that had never enjoyed chart success, making surprise hits of a few in the process.

Northern Soul could easily have passed into music history as a fad, something on the fringes of mainstream popular music; instead its popularity has remained and even grown. It is no longer the preserve of venues in the north of England (who had always attracted coachloads of devotees from across the nation), with Soul clubs opening in Europe, Asia, Australia and even - in perhaps the ultimate example of "coals to Newcastle" – America

Every few years Northern Soul enjoys a resurgence in popularity and welcomes a new generation of younger fans, keepers of the faith. This collection is for those with a passing interest and fans both old and
new - music fashions may change but the quality, the infectious excitement and the urge to get up and dance has endured in these fantastic records.

Polish production legends Catz ‘n Dogz journey to Club Sweat to drop a double A-side ready to set the rave-craving animals out of their cage, releasing ‘Rendezvous / Nasty’. The duo have creatively crafted a double A-side oozing floor-to-floor elixir, to skillfully entice underground cavern connoisseurs. As those punters find their way to their dancefloor destination they are met with the aptly named ‘Rendezvous’ a tech-house heater that couples deep stomping kickdrums, with underlying techno textures for an insatiable groove that is augmented by the deep yet sensual melodies of R&B vocalist Raymoane.

The pace is turned up a notch on the flip-side, with stank-face inducing textures apropos for the title of ‘Nasty’, a tune that layers the hypnotic and conspicuous vocals of Kiddy Smile over a bounce-loaded bassline with underlying rhythmic drums and sirens to evoke a bustling party atmosphere.

Swift newcomer Tommier Joyson makes his debut on Hot Creations this July with his first single, Clap Your Hands. On the B side, Eastenderz boss East End Dubs makes a long-awaited return to the label as remixer.

The title track leads the charge. Manifesting as a fast-paced, techy-leaning number, reverberating vocals reside atop driving kick-hat combos whilst whispering hats create a signature four-four rhythm. East End Dubs’ remix completes proceedings, showcasing the UK-minimal sound with which he’s become best known. Stripped-back, looping and built for the late-night hours, it’s a seven-minute cut that you can’t help but groove to.

Tommier Joyson may be new to the global electronic music circuit but the quality of his sound speaks for itself. The rising talent has landed his first-ever release on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations, a remarkable feat that sets the tone for a standout 2021. Eastenderz label head East End Dubs has become one of the most in-demand artists in recent years. A prolific producer, his work has found a welcome home on Fuse, Hot Creations and many more besides, whilst regular performances across Ibiza and beyond have cemented his reputation as an international talent.
