Wu Hen is the sophomore album from Peckham visionary Kamaal Williams -- an invitation to elevate to a higher state Cinematic strings from Miguel-Atwood Ferguson and virtuoso saxophone from Quinn Mason are textural additions that make for a deeper, multi-layered experience than previous releases.



Bringing groove back to the forefront, Wu Hen oscillates between celestial jazz, funk, rap and r&b reinforced with the rugged beat-heavy attitude of grime, jungle, house and garage - a self-styled fusion Kamaal describes as Wu Funk.



New players on this record include LA’s Greg Paul on drums (of Kalayst Collective), Rick Leon James on bass, Quinn Mason on saxophone alongside vocal features from cult rapper Mach-Hommy and Kaytranada collaborator Lauren Faith. Multi-talented renaissance musician Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (who has worked with Ray Charles, Flying Lotus, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Seu Jorge) contributes signature strings, which add vivid colour and rich depth, evoking vintage David Axelrod.



Kamaal rose to prominence with the hugely acclaimed Yussef Kamaal alongside drummer Yussef Dayes and a catalogue of 12”s for imprints such as MCDE, Eglo, and Rhythm Section as Henry Wu that became essential DJ tools. In 2018 he launched Black Focus Records with the Kamaal Williams debut The Return, which charted in the UK and saw sold out shows and festival appearances across Europe, North America and Asia.

Intriguing times out there! Much confusion, much uncertainty
and a little bit too much of everything. Even music. And
recording mediums. Greta probably wouldn't approve of
cramming your little apartment with thousands of vinyl discs
that will go to waste at some point. And honestly, does the
world even need another record label? The answer is no.
Except this brand new imprint right here is aiming to put things
a bit into perspective. Bisiesto, meaning leapyear in Spanish
will only issue its releases on every 29th of February. You
know what that means - one release every four years. Less
pollution, less redundancy, essential material that had its time
to ripe, plus it's a fun idea, too. Bisiesto is run and curated by
Carlo and will emphasize on the physical release on vinyl in
limited editions of 366 pieces, hand numbered by the man
himself. Bisiesto #1 is due with four jams by the label honcho
that showcase his variety in an unprecedented manner. The
laid back electro- and e-funk-induced groove of "Momo" opens
that spectrum, maintaining Carlo's unmistakable feeling for
soothing harmonies. "Casiopeia" brings in a bit more of his
signature sound, building up a straightforward feelgood
housetune on thick kickdrums, slapping hihats and energizing
vocal cutouts. You can sum this bad boy up under: Carlo on
top of his game. The following "Tengo" has been released
previously, but appears here in a completely new mix, letting
this bouncy, yet deephouse-tinged piece shine in a slightly
different colour. Closing off is "Domingo" a rather percussive
affair, bringing in some tribal grains, a funked up bassline and
an irresistible breezy disco feel.

Mutual Intentions is proud to present "Astral Traveling" which is Byron The Aquarius' debut album. A stunning piece of fusion built from everything between jazz, soul, hiphop and house makes Mutual Intentions a perfect platform for the release. String compositions is an on-going theme throughout the album. From the first chord on "Love Is 4U", until the very last second of "Spazzing Out", where Byron raps over a beautiful backdrop consisting only of Fender Rhodes, electric bass & strings. Byron jumps seamlessly between different genres throughout the whole album. From the acid house inspired "Sorry Kari", to 70's prog jazz sounding cuts like "Lost In Love". Once you put the needle on side B, you'll hear "Deep In That ***** feat. MDMA" which sounds pretty much like if Dexter Wansel took MDMA in 2019, inside Legowelt's studio and tried to re-create his classic cut "Theme From The Planets".

With this release we welcome the Berlin based producer Alex Tsiridis aka Rhyw to the label.

Having released on imprints like Avian and Fever AM, Rhyw has built a reputation as an outstandingly crafty producer with a love for rich textures and stomping tunes. While constantly exploring and trying out different angles, he’s always operating on behalf of the modern dance floor. These four tracks perfectly showcase his skills as a producer as well as a DJ who exactly knows what tracks need to be both functional and interesting, energetic and deep.

'IRL' takes off bouncy and crunchy, setting a dark yet uplifting mood that resembles classic Sandwell District records and runs trough the whole EP.
'Tap To Resume' is a subtle sledgehammer of a track, brilliantly orchestrated and designed.
Same goes for the title track, a sinister half time excursion into creepy industrial aesthetics.

Last track 'Triangle Escape' shows that it's probably no coincidence that the EPs title recalls cosmic horror stories like The Lurking Fear by H. P. Lovecraft.
Rhyw's productions share his thrilling intensity and minutiae in design, transformed into effective and elaborate club tools.

music - Dr.Nojoke throws in three tunes in his unmistakable style hitting the dancefloors of a parallel universe. Stomping beats with gravitational bass-lines are folded with deep textured moods, dub delays and a plethora of subtle sounds and strange loops all in an intricate and organic production build from diverse noises and field recordings. This music aims as much for the dancefloor as it is enjoyable at home.

art - "You Brew Stew" is a digital painting by Denver-based artist Jonathan Canupp. The painting was created in 2018, took 25 hours and is made of 28,000 strokes, original size: 24" x 24". Jonathan is a multi-faceted artist also working as sound designer for video games and films and producing music under diverse monikers such as Ten and Tracer and Petrichoir.

text - Over the course of the MAT editions, philosopher, actress, director and performer Marianne Kjaer Klausen will contribute writings about humanity, society and freedom. Sample from MAT ed.01: "The owl of Minerva spreads its wings only with the falling of the dusk. The paradox, to know when she has landed, would be one true turning point for the wisdom of humanity."

MAT 01 is a strictly limited vinyl-only release with a 12" x 12" inlay in a thick transparent PVC sleeve.

From the mists of 1989 comes The Landlord with this monolithic slab of rave history - 'I Like It'. Instantly recognisable, those widely sampled piano stabs, that bassline.... it's all there. Produced by Canadian super-producer and Big Shot Records label owner Nick Fiorucci this much sought after rave anthem was highly prized and coveted by those in the know back in the day, no-one had any idea as to how huge the record would become as it soundtracked every dancefloor, warehouse, field and loft from '89 onwards, this is it, the real deal! Enter: The Maghreban. One of R&S Records contemporary artists and an unashamed Hardcore / Jungle / Breakbeat enthusiast, he seemed like the perfect remixer. Maghreban's mix is respective of the roots and the legacy of 'I Like It', referencing some of it's later sampled incarnations in a clever and knowing way, a true DJ tool that has been road-tested and checked in clubs across Europe and beyond, his epic 'Revenge Remix' shows a deep understanding of the history of these particular records and how they work on the dancefloor. This one will have people crying for more! Also featured on this special RSD 2019 release is the OG 'Blow-Out Dub', the one that started it all. Classic material from end to end right here. Work. Noise Tool Is A Pair Of Techno Cuts, Each Almost Breaching 10 Minutes And Custom Fit To The Dancefloor Dedicated Sound Maeve Has Become Known For. The Title Track, 'noise Tool', Leads You Into A Murky World Of Pulsating Sounds And Ominous Synth Lines, Building Anticipation At

On The Flip, '1990', Takes A Different Turn To That Of The A Side, Immediately Setting A No Nonsense Tone With A Feeling That Something Big Is Going To Happen. Chymera Has Always Been Known For His Distinct Focus On Melody And 1990 Really Shows This As Several Harmonious Melodies Intertwine To Put The Listener On The Front Foot. While Beautiful Pads Give The Dancefloor A Moment Of Relief It Isn't Long Before A Deep Rolling Bassline Returns To Bring The Track To New Heights.

Positive Centre marks the 5th release on his In Silent Series label
with 4 tracks of weighted mechanical workouts that feature his
honed atmospheric style with brooding scenery and sharp
percussive accents. Isolated Loop takes a crunched and spat out
growl of an acid synth and blends it with ever developing drum
machine patterns as a weaponised techno tool. Tension Arm builds
on this with sharp percussion piercing over a hard edged bassline
and atmospheric scenery. Idle Roller is a deep, sub-aquatic rhythm
journeying to parts unknown with subtle switch in rhythm keeping
the momentum going through this textured sound world. Sum
Tolerance fractures open with stretched sounds of otherworldly
instruments, sludge laden beats and humming bass pressure.

Too Rough 4 Radio debuts their vinyl compilation with an electric assortment of soundscapes comprising of Florian's glittery disco tune with a tangy twist on 'Keep On', Littlelake's lush transient deep house number on 'Lionel', Clocked Devices scattered drone zooming across the cosmos on 'Intergalactic' and all rounded by Lootbeg & Blinds crunchy heady-topper on 'FuzzyLogic' .

Detroit's Burden Bros have long been looked upon with immense respect within contemporary dance music. Having been in operation since 1990 with their 430 West imprint they have long encapsulated the forward thinking vibe of Detroit Techno with their output over the last 20+ years, gaining praise from their motor city peers as well as fans worldwide. Having had success in the mainstream and an enduring underground presence they are well versed in the art of music.

This double-pack 'Cymbolic' originally came out in 1995 and found favour with electronic music fans who sought a deeper edge in their music. It's all here, the trademark drum programming, the epic sense that all of the Burden Bros productions have within them. This is dancefloor music, music for DJ's to utilise, tools, but tools with the deepest soul imaginable. Listen to 'Terraforming' or 'The Symbiont' - perfect examples of driving, almost tribal-esque rhythms fused with strings, synth pads and human feeling. 'Cymbolic' is for you if you're a fan of Detroit Techno, but it's also for those who enjoy the deepest electronic sounds. That's not to say it isn't funky though, these tracks will decimate most dance-floors, and therein lies the secret. When we started Ilian Tape 10 years ago in 2007, we were both basically kids at the ages of 23 (Dario) and 18 (Marco). There was no plan behind it, no concept, no promotion campaign or any budget, but just an early vision of where it could go. We wanted to build something that lasts. After a few years of playing at parties and producing music, it was the next logical step to start a label. You can clearly see us growing up through the label in terms of artwork, compiling the records and handling things. We made some mistakes along the way and there are surely things we could have done better, but looking back after 10 years now it all makes sense as it was a natural and human development with all its ups and downs.It was always a very personal project, never about making money, but about creating a platform for music we believe in and building relationships with artists in a transparent and fair way. We really appreciate that we were able to work with so many great artists, who shared the same vision and trusted in us, over all the years. According to numerology the number five is the most energetic and dynamic of all the single numbers. Allow this to be one of your defining expectations when you start listening to '5', the debut album from Parisian maestro Djebali. The number not only marks the number of years that have passed since his label was conceived, but also represents the months it took to complete his very first long-player. The album is a collection of dance floor-focused tracks, interspersed with a few experiments and unified by Djebali's love of deep, sultry grooves and classic house motifs, with a contemporary sheen of course

A year after their impressive last album Burn It Down, Detroit techno legends Octave One are back with a nine track double EP that again shows they are masters of big hypnotic grooves.

Entitled Love by Machine, the album's name is a nod to the fact that the Burden brothers are such revered masters of their hardware. Both in the studio, where they cook up atmospheric house and techno with soaring synths and vocals and also in the live arena, where they are celebrated as one of the most accomplished and forward thinking performers in the game today. That is all the more impressive when you bear in mind they have been active since the '80s, most often releasing on their own 430 West label, which is where they appear again here.

Say Lenny: We've been exploring the theme of connection with this project. How technology gives us the illusion that we are closer to each other more than ever. At some point humanity crossed a line where the devices that we created to bring us together are the same devices that are blocking us from organic experiences.'

Technology is only a tool, which we also had in mind during the recording process.' Adds Lawrence. We decided to go back to how we used to make our records, when we didn't have so many 'sophisticated' audio devices. Back to when we interacted in the studio together as musicians.'

Things open up with the loose metallic percussive line that is In Mono, which sets the machine made tone and is filled with promise. Locator then immediately gets to action with a gallivanting techno kick and various synth lines wrapping round each other as you get sucked into the groove. Just Don't Speak (Midnight Sun Redub) is a more deep and house leaning track with big feel good piano keys and slithering synths that will get hands in the air. Proving they have real range, 7 B4 Dawn is a moody and reserved cut with subtle acid pricks, hip swinging claps and a spaced out dead of night feel.


The second half of the album offers peak time business in the form of the spectacular Bad Love II, the whirring and cosmic Sounds of Jericho and the big loops and fluid grooves of (Where) Time Collides. Pain Pressure is a wonky number with big bassline and a focus on percussive patterns as well as some vocals with real attitude and last cut 8 B4 Dawn ends things in a downbeat and sombre way with sad chords and emotive strings. It is pure Detroit, much like the whole album, and rounds out another fine release from these most revered veterans.

Hynek's Scale is a smoking' Audiopath collaboration with ex Parliament/Funkadelic member Jerrald James AKA Jerry The Cat, who, besides being an amazing percussionist and great vocalist, is also a serious old school DJ and producer with collabs with names like Derrick May, Theo Parrish and Moodymann.
Together they carefully crafted the main theme "Hynek's Scale" with raging synths, thunderous kick drums, heavy baselines and last but not least, Jerry's sweet voice. This one is a house track you will remember for quite a while! Besides the original mix, there are two remixes, one from a guy that needs no introduction, Mr. K-Alexi Shelby from Chicago (Transmat/Trax/Djax-Up-Beats). K turned the whole main idea upside down and produced a real funky big beat slammer! We love it and we know that you will love it too, trust us! The second is a remix coming from Mechanique (Kaos Records/Affin), a talented Portuguese producer based in Amsterdam. He takes his mix to a very far, deep and beautiful place, a totally different atmosphere from the title track. Finishing the record, Audiopath delivers a banger that he's been anxious to release, "Good Foot", a heavy, heavy, heavy electrofunk track; watch out for this one, it can bite! In short, we sincerely advise you to immerse yourself in the beats and atmospheres explored by these guys, we're sure that theres a track here for each and everyone of you. The record is an immediate encounter with nothing but exquisite music!

What if we took you back to your untroubled teenage days, when all seemed complicated and easy to reach at the same time That is exactly what Cassius managed to transpose in 15 Again: a carefree music, coloured by some deep songs; like an emancipated soul, but always tormented. The hit 'Toop Toop", sampled by Madonna or David Guetta, among others, and the intense 'La Notte' illustrate perfectly this state of mind of the youth. Pharrell Williams is present on the song 'Eye Water", a beautiful ode to our planet and its natural resources, and Cassius has got further exciting surprises for you. Here comes the next EP on Cellaa Music, this time from fast-rising Italien producer Dhaze whose previous outings have ben on labels like Moan, Innocent, Yoruba Grooves and Draft.

Dhaze is a producer obsessed with nature and organic sounds. Young, skilled and supremely talented, Dhaze, is an artist set for great things on the international scene. Having been fully immersed in club scene of his home city, it was his love for electronic music that really took hold of him. - Rolling Instructions is a track that immediately commands attention with it's rolling, rich bassline surrounded by punchy, organic drums. This is the peaktime Cellaa sound at its finest.

- Anubi is a typically deep and sinister affair from the pair. Featuring solid drums and pulsating basslines work together perfectly to create a dancefloor smash that makes the ambience of this track particular and personal!

- Bubble Man builds slowly with rattling percussions and subtle chord, until, it suddenly drops, rocking the dancefloor with its massive bassline. A rolling vocal loop and a jumpy haunting topline combine effortlessly to create a track that is sure to cause mass devastation on dance-floors.

The Audience is built around solid, straight up percussion, strong bassline with swelling and rushing aquatics, punchy house chords, exquisitely programmed drums and a stompy groove coalite into a rhythm that gets stuck in your veins and sizzles through your body and brain - u can dance!

With a sonic language that crosses borders and draws from diverse cultural influences, the album seeks to reframe electronic music as a bridge between the ancestral and the contemporary.

After years of exploring and experimenting with different musical genres such as punk, noise, witch house, reggaeton, Mexican tribal etc., I have arrived at a moment in my life where I seek a deeper, more intimate form of expression, one connected to my personal world.

Although I do not believe in God, I believe in the power of invisible worlds, in the strength of being, and in music as a bridge toward expanded states of consciousness.

This work is born from that conviction: the possibility of turning dance and sound into tools for connecting with the spiritual.

A sonic journey that seeks to connect with the universal rhythms of life through powerful percussions, chants that are poems, Andean instruments, and the hypnotic force of electronic music. Each piece is designed to induce a collective trance, where the body finds its natural place: movement.

Among its most significant moments are the poems in Nahuatl written and recited by Maribel Galicia, a native of Teotihuacán and a member of the Nahua people. Her words resonate like ancestral memories that dialogue with electronic instrumentals, reminding us that tradition and innovation are not opposites, but can dance together.

Tribal Sound System – Incorregible is a sonic ritual that seeks to: Create altered states of consciousness through repetitive musical patterns. Celebrate sonic diversity by fusing sounds from indigenous folklore, Andean instruments, elements of regional Mexican music, and contemporary electronic music. Honor cultural roots by re-signifying electronic music as a bridge between the ancestral and the contemporary.
