Genug jedenfalls für die "Letzte Platte vor der Autobahn", ihre brandneues, 4. Album zum Bandjubliäum. "Blinker links" und ab auf die Überholspur: Genug neues Material haben die Punk-Thrash-Hardcore-Rotz(Rock)-Löffel jedenfalls gut verstaut im Kofferraum und auf ihre neue Scheibe gepackt. Da ächzen die Stoßdämpfer und freut sich die Schallplatten-Nadel, wenn mit "Jetzt geht es los" die wilde Fahrt beginnt. Dabei lassen die Mettcore-Spezialisten sich erneut nicht ausbremsen: Mit ihrer charmant-prolligen Art verheizen Sie alles was ihnen so unter den Asphalt brennt mit rebellischer "I don't give a fuck" -Attitüde und jeder Menge Spass in wohlklingenden Krach ohne Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung. Fleischwolf kann weder ein "Punkrock-Polizist" stoppen und na klar - "Aufgeben ist keine Option"! Intimacy is manifested in every moment of Radiator, the debut album from Philadelphia's Sadurn. This feeling of closeness, of being able to lend your every sense to one's confessions of internal conflict, is due in large part to the circumstances under which this album was created. Much of the world fell apart in 2020, but Sadurn tucked themselves away in a Pocono's cabin, creating and recording what would become their first full-length. Within the confines of their close quarters, passing animals as the only auditory witness to a makeshift recording studio created by moving furniture, Sadurn created an album that will break your heart and then slowly piece it back together.Sadurn started as the solo project of Genevieve ??DeGroot. Picking up guitar in 2015, DeGroot started writing songs, eventually playing DIY shows throughout the city of Philadelphia. With time, the direction, sound, and members of Sadurn changed. The beginning of 2020 was meant to serve as their debut as a four member band (Jon Cox on guitar/tenor guitar, Tabita Ahnert on bass, and Amelia Swan on drums), but the world had other plans and the group adapted.Taking influence from artists like Gillian Welch, Alex G, and Jason Molina, Sadurn's emotive indie rock explores the struggles and eventual beauty of grappling with multiple emotional realities, particularly when it comes to relationships. That conflict, the idea of being forced to choose, even when terrified, is present on singles like "Radiator" and "Golden Arm." The latter is an unhurried ballad that shows its truest colors with time, eventually blossoming with unexpected admissions of desire and uncertainty. Bringing together some of the finest musicians in Norway, the ensemble draws on a rare collective sensitivity, where each player contributes to a deeply integrated and texturally rich sound world.

With Non Sonett, the Christian Wallumrød Ensemble opens a new chapter that grows directly out of recent years of work in more solitary and cross-disciplinary contexts. In this period, Wallumrød has developed material for solo performance as well as for dance, allowing ideas to take shape in more fluid and exploratory formats. Some of this material now finds its way into the ensemble, where it is met by the possibilities offered by instrumentation, collective playing, and the distinct voices of the musicians. At the same time, older pieces—originating in entirely different settings— re-emerge here in new forms, reshaped by the ensemble context.

A defining aspect of Non Sonett is the way many of the pieces function less as fully determined compositions and more as open frameworks: starting points, suggestions, or “springboards” for music. These structures invite response rather than prescribe outcome, relying on the ensemble’s inherent sensitivity and capacity to realize and transform the material in performance. The result is music that feels both precise and fluid, shaped in equal measure by composition and by the interpretative presence of the players.

Central to this album is a continued deepening of Wallumrød’s long-standing interest in ambiguity and in dissolving boundaries between different musical elements and expressive worlds. Mannequin Records presents Electronic Corporation 1998–2006, a compilation bringing together rare and long unavailable recordings by the German electronic projects H.E.I.M. Elektronik and MAS 2008.

Active around the turn of the millennium, both projects share the involvement of producer Ive Müller while developing distinct collaborations and approaches to electronic music. H.E.I.M. Elektronik was founded in 1996 by Holger Erlenwein and Ive Müller (after the two artists split in 1999, Müller continued using the name), while MAS 2008 is the project of Ive Müller together with René Kirchner. Though separate entities, the two projects explored a similar sonic territory: stripped-down electro, minimal electronics and machine-driven body music shaped by analog hardware and a raw DIY production ethos.

The roots of Müller’s work go back to the final years of the DDR. As a teenager he worked as a licensed DJ — officially known as a “Schallplattenunterhalter” — operating a travelling disco across Saxony. With limited access to official Western releases, music circulated through cassette recordings taped from West German radio stations such as RIAS Berlin, NDR2 and Bayern3. Together with friends he travelled between youth clubs and discos around Leipzig with a “rolling discotheque”: a Russian Wolga pulling a trailer loaded with Electro-Voice sound systems sourced through the black market.

At the turn of the 2000s this background in underground electronic culture resurfaced in a series of recordings rooted in electro, EBM and minimal machine music. The tracks collected on Electronic Corporation 2000–2002 capture this moment: cold sequences, driving rhythms and stark synthetic textures produced with a direct and uncompromising approach.

Compiled and remastered by Rude 66 from the original sources, Electronic Corporation 2000–2002 documents a small but fascinating chapter of German underground electronics from the early digital era.

„Ranjha“ ist das neue Album und die Zusammenarbeit des preisgekrönten Komponisten und RadioheadGitarristen Jonny Greenwood, des gefeierten Komponisten und Musikers Shye Ben Tzur und des indischen
Ensembles The Rajasthan Express. Das Album ist der Nachfolger ihres gefeierten Debüts „Junun“, das
gerade sein zehnjähriges Jubiläum feierte. Während „Junun“ in einem provisorischen Studio im Mehrangarh
Fort aus dem 15. Jahrhundert in Rajasthan, Indien, aufgenommen wurde, entstand „Ranjha“ in einem
intimeren Rahmen – in Jonny Greenwoods Studio in Oxford, England.
Zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum von „Junun“, das von der Kritik hochgelobt wurde – unter anderem als Album
des Jahres von der Sunday Times, die es als „eine der inspiriertesten Veröffentlichungen des Jahres“
und „faszinierend, vielschichtig und unbedingt hörenswert“ bezeichnete –, veröffentlichte BMG am 16.
Januar 2026 eine Sonderausgabe des Originalalbums. Die Entstehung von „Junun“ wurde vom gefeierten
Filmemacher Paul Thomas Anderson dokumentiert und bietet einen intimen Einblick in den kreativen
Prozess und den pulsierenden Alltag während der Albumproduktion. „Ranjha“, das am 8. Mai 2026
erscheint, wird als spezielle rote und korallenrote Splatter-Vinyl-Edition im Gatefold-Cover sowie als CD
erhältlich sein. Das Album enthält elf brandneue Tracks, die den charakteristischen interkulturellen Sound
der Band mit einem modernen Touch verbinden. Es erscheint kurz nach der vielbeachteten Radiohead-Tour,
die Ende 2025 zu Ende ging.

Stephen Sanchez kehrt mit seinem zweiten Album Love, Love, Love zurück – einer Platte, die die künstliche
Figureninszenierung sowie die schwärmerischen, verhallten 50er-/60er-Jahre-Grooves seines mit Gold ausgezeichneten Konzeptalbums Angel Face aus dem Jahr 2023 hinter sich lässt.
Mit mutigen, hochauflösenden Technicolor-Popsongs knüpft das Album weiterhin an die Tradition seiner
klassischen Wurzeln an und schreitet zugleich selbstbewusst in eine lebendige, moderne neue Ära. Über
elf prägnante Tracks hinweg zeigt es einen Künstler, der sich weiterentwickelt und zugleich neu gefestigt
wirkt – dessen Leitmotiv selbstbewusst im Albumtitel verankert ist.

Gregory Porters zweites Blue-Note-Werk erschien 2016 und wurde mit dem Grammy als bestes JazzGesangsalbum ausgezeichnet. Die eingängigen Songs mixen Jazz, Soul, Gospel und Funk und gehören noch
immer zu seinen beliebtesten, die Texte verbinden Persönliches mit Politischem und sind heute genauso
relevant wie vor zehn Jahren.
Zum Jubiläum erscheint ”Take Me To The Alley” jetzt als ”10th Anniversary Edition” in Form einer
limitierten farbigen Doppel-LP. Als Bonus-Track ist der 2026 veröffentlichte Rules-Remix von “Holding
On“ dabei, mit dem der britische Produzent zusammen mit Gregory Porter einen großen Streaming-Erfolg
feierte.

Aufgenommen 1971 in den Chappell Recording Studios in London, während seines Exils, erschien „Transa“,
das sechste Studioalbum von Caetano Veloso, im Januar 1972. Das sieben Stücke umfassende Werk wurde
vom britischen Künstler Ralph Mace produziert; die musikalische Leitung übernahm Jards Macalé, der auf
„It’s a Long Way“ zudem Gitarre spielt.
Die Band bestand aus Áureo de Souza (Schlagzeug), Moacyr Albuquerque (Bass), Tutty Moreno (Perkussion) und Jards Macalé (akustische und elektrische Gitarre). Außerdem wirkt die damals 22-jährige Angela
Ro Ro mit, die Caetano Velosos verführerischen Schlusstitel „Nostalgia (That’s What Rock’n’Roll Is All
About)“ mit ihrem charakteristischen Mundharmonikaspiel bereichert. Diese Zusammenarbeit gab der jungen Künstlerin entscheidenden Auftrieb für ihre weitere Karriere.
Musikalisch ist das Album von einer rockigen Grundhaltung geprägt, in der zugleich Velosos zentrale
Einflüsse anklingen: die MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) sowie die Klangwelt Bahias. Dennoch bleibt eine
feine Melancholie spürbar, wie sie bereits sein erstes Londoner Album „Caetano Veloso“ (1971) kennzeichnete.
Veröffentlicht wurde das Projekt mit einem auffälligen, dreifach aufklappbaren Cover, bei dem Booklet
und Hülle eine Dreiecksform bilden. Der bahianische Schauspieler und Theaterregisseur Álvaro Guimarães
prägte dafür den Begriff „Discobjeto“; gemeinsam mit Aldo Luiz entwickelte er das markante grafische
Konzept.

To celebrate the 20-year anniversary of our label Jamaican Recordings and to mark the sad one year passing of the musical maestro reggae producer Bunny `Striker’ Lee, we have pulled together a brand new collection of some great Bunny Lee rhythms.

Our label started way back with initial meetings with Bunny Lee and a promise to keep his music available, out on the streets. He will be sorely missed but will live on through his extraordinary musical legacy and we hope to add to this by including this release to the stable of an unbeatable catalogue.

Legendary record producer Bunny `Striker’ Lee’s vast selection of rhythms were ever present at any Sound Clash or Dance worth talking about in the early to mid-1970’s.
Where the version found on the b-side of a single or special dub cut on acetates, would be played to win over the people and conquer the dance. Bunny Lee was the undisputed rhythm master and on this special release he is also the MC telling the crowd how it is and that any rival sound system should watch out as he has the rhythms that can reign supreme. The band cutting these timeless rhythms were a group of top Jamaican musicians Bunny had put together called The Aggrovators.

The Aggrovators were a group of reggae musicians that usually featured Carlton `Santa’ Davis on drums playing alongside Robbie Shakespeare on bass, with other musicians added like Earl `Chinna’ Smith on guitar and Tommy McCook and Vin Gordon and Lennox Brown added for horn arrangements. Keyboards and organ duties normally fell
to musicians Ansel Collins and Bernard ‘Touter’ Harvey. The band was named after singer Eddie Grant had repeated the phrase to Bunny Lee on one of his many trips to England, that such and such artist was giving him `Aggro’. This was a term used in England in the 1970’s by the Skinhead followers of reggae music. A term shortened
from the word `Aggrovation’, meaning trouble, fighting or making the situation worse. Bunny Lee was so taken with this term that on returning to Jamaica, not only did he name his group of musicians the `Aggrovators’ but he also named his record shop situated at 101 Orange Street `Agro Records’.

Mit "We Will Survive This" veröffentlichen 1816 ein Album, das seine Kraft aus Verletzlichkeit, Beharrlichkeit und leiser Zuversicht schöpft. Die Band - bestehend aus der Sängerin Wenche Losnegard, dem Bassisten und Hauptkomponisten Audun Ellingsen, Cellisten Gregor Riddell und Schlagzeuger Erik Nylander - knüpft an ihr gefeiertes Debüt an und vertieft die charakteristische Verbindung aus Kammermusik, Jazz und alternativer Pop-Sensibilität. Der Name 1816 verweist auf "das Jahr ohne Sommer" - ein historisches Sinnbild für Umbruch, Erschütterung und Überleben. Vor diesem Hintergrund erforscht das Album Themen wie Unsicherheit, Entbehrung und die fragile Hoffnung in Zeiten, in denen die Welt aus den Fugen zu geraten scheint. Die Musik reflektiert diese Stimmungen, ohne sie direkt zu kommentieren: stille Passagen treffen auf dynamische Ausbrüche, offene Formen auf dichte Klangszenen. Die Texte bewegen sich zwischen persönlicher Introspektion und alltäglicher Lebensnähe; literarische Anklänge - von Byron bis Dolly Parton - verleihen ihnen zusätzliche Tiefe. Dritte Wahl ist eine deutschsprachige Punkrock-Band aus Rostock, die sich gegen Ende der 1980er-Jahre gründete. Die Band spielt Deutschpunk mit deutlichen Metal-Einflüssen und singt sehr direkte, politisch-kämpferische, linke Texte, für die es zu DDR-Zeiten die damals üblichen staatlichen Repressalien gab. 1996 veröffentlichte Dritte Wahl mit "Nimm drei" ihr drittes Album. Es wurde in Braunschweig im Whiteline Studio von Uwe Golz (auch Gitarrist bei Daily Terror) und Uwe Rust produziert. "Nimm drei" bedeutete für die Rostocker einen deutlichen Schritt Richtung mehr Professionalität. Das druckvolle Album hebt sich soundmäßig markant von den beiden früheren Werken "Fasching in Bonn" (1992) und "Auge um Auge" (1994) ab. Es wird durch sehr groovige und gitarrenbetonte Songs charakterisiert. Redux, an ambient-folk album from Portland, Oregon musician, poet, and multimedia artist Dao Strom, is a collection of nine resurrected pieces. Reimagining songs she initially composed as a member of the Austin, Texas alt-country and singer-songwriter scenes of the early 2000s, Strom reworks these lost songs into ambient-folk mini-epics—part grounded and earthly, part ethereal and otherworldly. Drawing on an intimate yet spacious palette of folk, ambient, and experimental textures, woven through with a poetics of vulnerability and quiet emotion, Redux explores song as gently reverberant fields of layered vocals over finger-picked guitars with touches of electronics and sampling. Strom’s musical journey initially began in a roots and acoustic vein, simultaneously with her career as a fiction writer. In the years since, she has moved from Austin, Texas to Juneau, Alaska to Portland, Oregon; her work too has expanded across genres into more experimental formats of poetry, music, and multidisciplinary art. In returning to these earlier songs, Strom reclaims and revives them, exploring her relationships to time, voice, and the continuances of emotion and memory. The word redux means “brought back; revived”; a sense of something restored—earlier renditions of some of the Redux songs were recorded with Austin-based collaborators and producers; some songs were written in that time period but never recorded. Produced, performed, and recorded by Strom alone in her home studio, Redux is a return and reemergence of the artist to her own most personal, intuitive structures and atmospheres of voice, sound, and song. Dao Strom is an artist who works with three “voices”—written, sung, visual—to explore hybridity and contemplate the intersection of personal and collective histories. Her music releases move between “song-poem” cycles and ambient-folk albums. She is the author/composer of several hybrid projects that blend poetry, music, and visual art into unique multimodal experiences, including Tender Revolutions/Yellow Songs, a song-cycle with set of four chapbooks, jointly released by Beacon Sound, Antiquated Future Records, and The 3rd Thing Press (2025), and Instrument/Traveler’s Ode, a poetry-art collection and song-cycle released by Fonograf Editions and Antiquated Future Records (2020). Born in Vietnam and based in Portland, Oregon, Strom began her musical journey in the early 2000s, when she first began infusing into the context of “Americana” folk/roots music her own diasporic Vietnamese experience and stories. Her music has since moved in more experimental directions, resisting easy categorization, yet still maintaining tendrils of folk ethos. She also writes songs about the ineffable nuances of emotion, memory, and connection, as captured on the album, Redux, which gathers songs from across her songwriting years into an ambient-folk setting, self-produced and recorded by Strom, released on cassette in 2022 by Antiquated Future Records, and reissued on vinyl in 2026 by Disasters By Choice. As a multidisciplinary artist, Strom has presented performance and installations at venues such as the Time Based Art Festival (Portland Institute for Contemporary Art) and Moving Poets Novilla in Berlin, Germany, and has received awards from the Creative Capital Foundation, Spark Artist Award, and others. Strom is also a founding member of She Who Has No Master(s), a collective of Vietnamese women writers and artists making polyvocal poetry-art works as a means of reaching across borders.

Marcos Valle is one of those artists you simply can’t overlook if you have even a passing interest in Brazilian music. Whether your taste leans toward bossa jazz, samba, psychedelic folk, or modern soul, Valle has surely recorded a great album for you.

By the late 1960s he had already released enough outstanding records to secure a place among the greatest Brazilian artists of all time, but fortunately his career didn’t stop there. He has continued recording fabulous albums over the following decades, right up to the present day.

This second album by Marcos Valle (1965) is one of the foundational works of bossa nova. In fact, the record includes one of the most widely heard and covered Brazilian songs in history: ‘Samba de Verão.’ In addition to his work as a composer—alongside his brother Paulo Sergio—Marcos Valle also begins to reveal himself here as a great singer, with a soft, almost fragile voice, while his acoustic guitar recreates the same intimacy of the nighttime atmosphere in which he composed most of the songs.

The arrangements were co-written with Eumir Deodato, with the participation of other renowned Brazilian musicians, and they surround Valle’s compositions with elegant string orchestrations, bossa rhythms, and jazzy touches of swing. Highlights include the sophisticated beauty of songs like ‘Preciso Aprender a Ser Só,’ the rhythmic 3/4 feel of tracks such as ‘Seu Encanto,’ and the powerful ‘Deus Brasileiro.’

In the early 1970s, Roy Ayers formed his own band: Roy Ayers Ubiquity. Its lineup included artists well known to funk and soul fans such as Bernard Purdie, James Mason, and Edwin Birdsong.



This 1973 album presents Roy Ayers in the midst of a creative evolution toward a sound increasingly influenced by soul and funk, moving beyond the early phase of his musical career, which was more rooted in orthodox jazz.

On “Red Black & Green”, he teams up with highly accomplished collaborators such as keyboardist Harry Whitaker, arranger and producer William S. Fischer, and Strata-East musicians Charles Tolliver and Sonny Fortune. Here, however, the latter two do not venture into the spiritual jazz sounds so characteristic of their own recordings; instead, together they embrace a sophisticated funk groove where Ayers showcases his extraordinary vibraphone talent.

The album includes outstanding versions of ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ and ‘Day Dreaming,’ as well as original compositions such as ‘Cocoa Butter,’ ‘Rhythms of Your Mind,’ and the superb title track, ‘Red Black & Green.’

Pete Lambrou, the visionary composer and multi-instrumentalist behind VLMV (pronounced "Alma"), is one of the most singular voices emerging from the ambient, post-rock, and experimental scenes in the UK. Boogiemonsters were an American hip hop group composed of Bronx‑born rapper Mondo McCann, Alaskan native Vex Da Vortex (Sean Pollard), and Jamaican‑born brothers Myntric (Sean Myers) and Yodared (Ivor “Al” Myers). The members met while attending Virginia State University, quickly connected, and began recording demos and performing at campus events. Their early momentum led them to win first place at Howard University’s Hip‑Hop Convention.

Pendulum/EMI record label signed the four MCs and released their debut album Riders Of The Storm: The Underwater Album in 1994. The first single, “Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress,” introduced their thoughtful, alternative approach to hip hop. Although all sixteen tracks were used in the finished film, the original session recordings are now lost. During Hammer’s painstaking 2025 4K feature restoration, approximately 13 minutes of clean music were newly extracted from the film’s original mixed music-and-effects track — a rare archival recovery that brings Bernard’s work back from the grave.

And that sound is ever-evolving, as his new jazz album shows. What "jazz" is this? There are certainly liquid elements there in the mix, not unlike the ones heard on previous vd productions. Then again, this is acoustic quintet music by and large, but not any specific kind we have ever heard before. Isn't that the whole point of "jazz"? Whatever came before is a springboard, not a limitation.

We are honoured to welcome veteran artist Dennis Walks to the Poor Man’s Friend label. Having cut his teeth with Duke Reid in the mid to late 1960s, Dennis Walks has been recording consistently for over 60 years.

Best known for his massive hits “Drifter,” “Heart Don’t Leap,” and “Margaret,” alongside the great The Mudies, Dennis brings a smooth yet powerful voice rooted in R&B and doo-wop influences. Combined with his intricate and thoughtful songwriting, he remains one of our favourite artists from the rocksteady and early reggae era.

“What A Pressure” is a vibrant, horn-led early roots reggae cut that captures the raw spirit and sonic identity of Jamaica’s foundational studio era. Driven by an upbeat tempo and undeniable energy, the track is elevated by rich, full-bodied backing vocals that perfectly frame Dennis Walks’s unmistakable voice. His delivery carries a weight of experience, bringing to life a set of beautifully constructed conscious lyrics that speak with both urgency and soul.

At its core, the production is propelled by a deep, rolling bassline that locks tightly with a heavily saturated rhythm section, creating a warm, analog feel reminiscent of classic recordings from Kingston’s golden age. The horns cut through with authority, adding brightness and drive, while the overall arrangement maintains a tight, authentic groove.

“II” is the second album by Californian post-punk heroes Alone in My Room. The Spoiled is an Italian post-punk project led by Giovanni Santolla, blending electronic beats, distorted synths, and reverb-soaked guitars into a dark, romantic, and nostalgic sound.

In 2024, the project self-released the debut EP Time distributed by Manic Depression, followed in 2025 by the full-length Living Ghosts via Swiss Dark Nights—an album that firmly established The Spoiled within the contemporary post-punk scene. This 7-inch singles features a previously unreleased cover of Bob Marley's iconic "Sun Is Shining," performed by the prolific Jamaican singer Ronnie Davis of The Itals and The Tennors. The multi-track tape was famously mixed by Prince Jammy into the popular "Jammys A Shine" dub, without any vocals. More recently, Prince Fatty mixed his version "Dub Is Shining" for the acclaimed Prince Fatty Meets The Gorgon album (VP4246) in 2023. The vocal was never mixed or issued, for reasons unknown, but with Prince Fatty's usual magic touch, it finally finds its way to the public after nearly five decades. Ronnie Davis, 1950-2017, was one of Jamaica's beloved voices during his long career. He was better known as a member of the rocksteady group The Tennors, and later with The Itals, but during the 1970s he was on of Bunny Striker Lee's top vocalists.

On the two-year anniversary of The Past Is Still Alive – named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far by Pitchfork, and one of the Best Albums of 2024 by the New York Times, The Atlantic, Associated Press, NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Billboard, OUT, Mojo, Uncut and a multitude of others – Hurray for the Riff Raff releases a new live record, Live Forever. The album was captured over the course of two sold-out summer nights at the Old Town School of Folk Music in bandleader Alynda Segarra’s new home of Chicago, Illinois. Spanning 14 songs, Live Forever presents The Past Is Still Alive in its entirety, as well as a selection of Hurray for the Riff Raff’s show-stopping, set-defining staples: decrying ICE on the poetic ‘Precious Cargo’ and The Navigator’s anthemic ‘Pa’lante’; the prescient digital age critique of ‘Pyramid Scheme’; and ripping through a folk-rock rendition of LIFE ON EARTH’s ‘Rhododendron’.

“I moved to Chicago in September 2024, the year I released The Past Is Still Alive and hit the road with a new band – a group of musicians recommended by my front of house/production manager, Johnny Wilson. Everyone had ties to the city, and had been playing together in the DIY scene for over a decade.

Since then we’ve traveled the world together, becoming family, playing the best shows of my life. Chicago has become home for me, and I feel grateful for the welcome I’ve gotten into the best music scene in the country.

I wanted to capture this time and this brilliant band, a moment that won’t last forever. Mutant, in collaboration with Hollywood Records and 20th century Studios, is proud to present the premiere physical media release of Benjamin Wallfisch's score to the first of two 2025 Predator films, the animated anthology PREDATOR: KILLER OF KILLERS Benjamin Wallfisch had quite the task in scoring KILLER OF KILLERS.

Not only did he need to tackle one of the most iconic sci-fi titles in pop culture history, but he had to do so across multiple time periods, locations and genres. A Scandinavian arctic right of passage, a Japanese Feudal revenge plot, and a World War Two underdog dogfight - all bookended by an epic battle on the Yautja home planet where the far-reaching nature of the Predator finally reveals itself after 30 years of filmmaking.

All the while, Wallfisch nimbly navigates the spirit of each period, their cultural instrumentation, and the kineticism of each chapter, and the emotional stakes of each battle. It's a minor miracle of a score that we are honoured to celebrate.

Featuring original artwork by Oliver Barrett, featuring liner notes by the films director Dan Trachtenberg, and pressed on 140gm Red vinyl, this release is essential for fans of the series.

Myth? Legend? No need to pump this up, the music is self evident. As is the crew of Marfox, NK, Nervoso, Fofuxo, Pausas and Jesse, who shaped the universe as we know it. The simplest of elements for maximum (minimal) impact, an imperative burst of energy that perfectly echoes the title of Marfox's first EP: I Know Who I Am.

These are statements of personality directly stamped on the dancefloor. "Hard Tecno" (without the H, yes) embodies the crystal clear intention of the set: to light a fire wherever the beats fall. To make people smile and move. And this was (and is) achieved without the need for obvious smiley culture signposts. The music just came through with fierce enthusiasm. All were youngsters (Nervoso being the elder) in 2007, and youth is definitely a factor in the fearless display of bare bones dance music production. Raw, is it?

A second volume of DJs di Guetto on Príncipe was always going to happen. The tough part was deciding how to organize the bangers on the tracklist without ending up with a quadruple vinyl set. Thus separate volumes 1&2. Volume 1 (2023) was culled from the actual DJs di Guetto compilation (self released in 2006), whereas Volume 2 comes straight from the crew's archives, nearly 100% unreleased tracks produced in 2007.

The crew disbanded as such a long time ago, but the legacy stands as sacred scriptures stand. FL Studio and standard laptop and tower desktop PCs combined as raw materials; a no-fuss approach added by these DJs and producers who sound unequivocally rootsy and primeval, drinking from the source. Also punishingly minimal, dry and alien. Happy-sad, sweet-sour, nice-angry, soft-aggressive. Words fail us. It's 2026, new humans seem to beon the rise but some old ways are still enthralling.

Saosin’s debut EP fuses razor-wire melodies, blistering drums, and Anthony Green’s unmistakably emotive vocals into a release that helped define early-2000s post-hardcore. Balancing chaos and catharsis, the EP pairs technical precision with raw feeling, delivering songs that feel both urgent and timeless.

Kicking off the collection, we have POISON IDEA performing their first ever gig as a high-velocity punk band on New Years Eve 1980 – truly an incredible find. “We put our gear in shopping carts and pushed it to the venue” Jerry recalls as well as the reaction from Portland’s first wave of hardcore kids, “They only had 30 seconds in a song to throw each other around and pogo, so they’d go for it. It came naturally, like the music possessed them”. The embryonic versions presented here of future POISON IDEA classics like “Give It Up” and “Castration” are played in a more quirky and herky-jerky manner than how they would appear three years later on their debut seven-inch EP, Pick Your King. This recording also holds the most unfiltered display of Germs vocalist Darby Crash’s influence on Jerry. “His voice gave me the license to go” states Jerry. “You didn’t have to be a trained singer. Just open up your soul and scream”.

The remainder of this release is culled from a recording done in June of 1981 at a birthday party for Kim Kincaid, vocalist for local punk group, Neo Boys. The event was held at the short-lived but groundbreaking punk venue for Portland, Clockwork Joe’s. “Clockwork Joe’s was like Peter Pan’s island of lost boys” Lang recollects, “There was a lot of booze, a lot of drugs and a lot of young kids”. Hearing this ferocious, tightly-wound set, one can only imagine the sweaty debauchery that occurred that night, especially during the pounding rendition of “Underage” presented here, yet another future Pick Your King track.

A hushed and intimate reimagining of a landmark indie classic, Grandaddy’s The Sophtware Slump… On a Wooden Piano—originally released in 2011—returns in a limited Eco-Mix “Tangelo” vinyl pressing. On this version, Jason Lytle transforms the album’s lush, synth-driven arrangements into stark piano meditations, highlighting the fragile humanity at the core of the songs.

While self-proclaimed "garage and jackin' house" revivalist Marc Cotterell has developed his Plastik People label into a fine outlet blessed with an ever-growing family of artists, he still maintains a steady release schedule of his own. The British producer is naturally in good form on his latest Plastik People missive. Check first opener 'Take Your Time', where breezy piano stabs and deliciously soulful vocals ride a squelchy bassline and loose-limbed garage-house beats, before admiring the more "trad" soulful house flex of the gorgeous and lightly funky 'Mysterious Ex'. Over on side B, 'Feed The Soul' is a string-laden slab of revivalist New Jersey garage-house goodness which doffs a cap to the early 1990s, while 'This Life Living' re-casts Jill Scott r&b classic 'Golden' as a rolling soulful house delight.

East London producer and DJ IZCO announces his debut solo studio album ‘POWERSCROFT’, set for release on 1st May via Brownswood Recordings. The album’s first single, ‘Strike a Pose’ featuring the vocals of Camille Munn offers an early glimpse into the project. To celebrate the release, he will go on a run of UK dates from March to May, culminating at London’s Jazz Cafe.
Named after the road where he grew up, ‘POWERSCROFT’ marks a defining new chapter for an artist who has spent the past decade shaping the sound of UK dance music. Drawing from jungle, broken beat, grime, garage, soul and dub, the album channels the energy of the dancefloor while remaining deeply rooted in memory, instinct and identity. It captures what it feels like to be inside IZCO’s world, where thoughts, memories and influences collide.

Hailing from East London, IZCO is a producer and DJ spearheading a new generation that is bringing soul back to the dancefloor. Shaped by the rich musical heritage of his hometown, he has developed a sound that feels familiar yet forward-looking, diverse yet distinctly his own. That sound has taken him across the globe, from New York to Tokyo, alongside standout sets at We Out Here, Outlook and Glastonbury.

IZCO began his journey making grime beats for local rappers including Capo Lee, Novelist and Reek0, before becoming a key figure in the UK’s evolving garage and dance music landscape. In 2018, he launched his long-running Rinse FM show and released his debut EP Tek 5, earning early underground acclaim. His production credits include PinkPantheress’ breakout track ‘Passion’, created alongside Jkarri, as well as collaborations and remixes for artists such as Katy B and Greentea Peng.
Beyond his solo work, IZCO is a label head, promoter and co-founder of the Brighter Days Family, a collective built on community, craft and cooperation. With ‘POWERSCROFT’, he steps fully into the spotlight, presenting his most personal and fully realised body of work to date. “This album is about channeling my true musical personality and character,” he says. “I’m marking a new chapter by paying tribute to my foundations.”

Deserts, seas, imaginary villages, getaways, pursuits and collective rituals: "Atabasca" emerges as a collection of musical landscapes that unfolds through vivid, evocative imagery.

Jazz-funk, world music, afrobeat, psychedelia and the Italian Golden Age of movie soundtracks merge into a singular emotional geography: warm, analog and deeply human.

The musical journey opens with "Dune", a melancholic statement that leaves room for imagination, before igniting with "Kundela Mawedi" and its cascading lap steel over haunting vocal chants. "Paco" tips its hat to classic westerns, tracing a bandit's trajectory, while "Cameo" drifts back to childhood through minimal rumba and shimmering kalimba. The cinematic imagery continues in "Cacopoulos", a nod to Spaghetti westerns and Eli Wallach, built on raw drum patterns and distorted guitars. Intensity builds in "Khettara", where afrobeat rhythms and Middle Eastern textures intertwine, before "Hell Dorado" tears off in pursuit of the American dream's funk-fueled mirage. "Papambra" weaves hypnotic polyrhythms between kalimba and lap steel, while "Porpora" delivers a sensual, visceral tango of passion and tension. The digital edition closes with "Reprise", a sequel that stretches the album's central theme into an expansive, meditative interpretation.

The tracks were recorded in single takes, capturing the raw energy and natural atmosphere of the performance. Artistic production was handled by the trio alongside Andrea Fabrizii (digger, musician, producer and catalogue curator for CAM Sugar), while Riccardo Ricci mastered the album at Velvet Room Mastering Studio in Brighton.

Like a desert blooming within the evergreen forests of the planet's far north, a unique, alien, disruptive environment. This is the vision behind Atabasca, the project of Luca Mongia (guitars, lap steel, keyboards, vocals), Paolo Mazziotti (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Valerio Pompei (drums, percussion, vocals).

Individually active for over twenty years on both the national and international scenes, the three Italian musicians came together in 2023 to create a project that merges experience, experimentation and creative freedom. Their music is imaginative and at times dreamlike, blending the classic concept of the instrumental trio with the worlds of film scoring and sound design.

Atabasca's sound moves through jazz-funk, world and cinematic territories, weaving together afrobeat, desert and psychedelic influences into a personal and timeless language. Each piece is a scene; each sound, a fragment of a world, a journey between reality and imagination where groove, texture and organic timbre merge into a singular sonic ecosystem: a perpetually shifting balance that generates new inner landscapes.

With Just A Few Projects To His Name, Tha God Fahim Was Still A Hungry Young Talent On The Rise when he unleashed Tha Dark Shogunn Saga in late 2016. Among his most memorable early releases, the album kicked off an unprecedented creative explosion, as Fahim cemented his status with more than 50 projects released over the next two years. Followed by an equally compelling sequel released just a few
months later, the overall saga became an important moment in Tha God Fahim's rise, evoking shadowy street corners and smoke-filled hallways. Nearly a decade later, Fahim is expanding this series into a full trilogy with Tha Dark Shogunn Saga, Vol. 3. • Jackie Dee’s ‘Who’ was one of many great tape finds from Detroit producer Dave Hamilton’s vault in the 90s and first came out on CD in 1999. In 2015 Ace licensed that version to Colemine Records in the USA who issued it on their First Light subsidiary. That disc is now deleted and fetching a high price.
• In recent years we have found the multi-track tape with an extended version of the recording and an instrumental take on it that features Dave Hamilton’s vibes-playing. The vocal side is a full one minute and forty seconds longer than the original release.

'Change' was originally performed by Shadez of Brooklyn, produced by Da Beatminerz and most notably appeared on DJ Premier's legendary 'New York Reality Check 101' mix compilation back in 1997.

This 7" vinyl release follows on from last Summer's MF DOOM cover 'Arrow Root', which received strong support from the likes of Japan's DJ Koco and Philadelphia's DJ Jazzy Jeff.

This new instrumental reinterpretation also features cuts by Leicester-based turntablist, Jon1st - a DMC World Online Champion, as well as being a producer & musician in his own right, collaborating on music with a number of hip hop, D&B and electronic artists.

One of the original First Word roster, UK Producer/DJ and all-round laptop music geek kidkanevil has developed a distinctive and progressive sound over the years, gleefully exploring the beats and bleeps of the electronic music universe to international recognition. Leeds born, sound system bred and raised on a (un)healthy diet of video games and anime, his solo work inhabits the curious space between bass frequencies and otaku culture. But as a devoted teenage backpack rap nerd, somewhere in the back of kid's mind was a lingering desire to reconnect with his first love, hip hop.

Not long after moving to Berlin he joined a studio space in graffiti plastered Kreuzberg, where he met multi instrumentalist wizard Magic Manfred; a disciple of all things boogie, disco, funk and soul. Born and raised in Berlin, and currently a touring musician for many an act, Manfred's musical map joins the dots from piano lessons at four, to starting a band with his teenage friends, leading him to his true calling - the bass - via the club vibrations of his hometown, which introduced him to the world of DJing and production, and a stint studying in the explosive London jazz scene to finalise his Jedi training.

Bonding over their mutual love of '90s hip hop, a friendship and musical kinship developed, coupled with a desire to honour past eras but push things forward, Above The Clouds was born; named after their joint favourite DJ Premier beat, with a touch of irony regarding their basement based studio of a windowless variety.

kidkanevil explains further "We started the project with a few covers, just as a way to get warmed up and in a certain creative headspace, of which 'Change' by Shadez Of Brooklyn was one. We both loved DJ Premier's 'New York Reality Check 101' mix when we were teenagers and this track was a favourite. The elements really lent themselves to live interpretation, and as an instrumental there was space to bring some nice movement with the bass and stuff. Hopefully we found the balance between paying tribute and finding our own pocket. For the final seasoning we hit up the homie and turntable wizard Jon1st to recreate the cuts, of which he did an immaculate job of course.

The b-side 'Urgh' is one of our favourite beats we've made so far; the title is just how it makes us feel! We actually recorded the piano with two iphones as left and right and it sounded kinda cool so we went with it..."

Resonant Duality is an album built around Kyouzon, the Japanese idea of coexistence, where duality and togetherness are always present. The tracks move between light and dark, soft and loud, tension and release, but always come back to a feeling of sharing the same space. So Takahashi, originally from Yokohama, Japan, is a multidisciplinary artist who studied visual communication in New York. Since the late 1990s, he has been active as a composer and performer within electronic music, noted for his minimalistic melodies, sample manipulation, and unique sense of composition. Having released nine releases since 1999, he has lived and worked in Oslo, Norway in recent years, where "Resonant Reality" marks his tenth release. Charles Lynch, born in Tours, France, began his musical journey with classical piano at an early age before expanding his studies to art, visual communication, and design in Paris. Under the artist name A Saner Lynch, he has released two classical music albums, blending his background in classical performance with a contemporary artistic sensibility. The two musicians met in Oslo, Norway, a decade ago. Their shared interests in both classical and electronic music led them to collaborate, merging their distinct backgrounds and creative visions. Together, they compose music that reflects their combined influences, bridging the worlds of classical tradition and electronic innovation.

Closed For The Festival is MIDI Janitor’s fourth full-length and is the follow-up to the Holy To Dogs LP, which was originally released on cassette in 2024 on legendary Vancouver tape label Hotham Sound and then in a vinyl edition by Toronto’s We Are Busy Bodies.

The Midi Janitor’s new album, Closed For The Festival, is a biography of Jonathan Orr’s shadow self.

Born from memories of his childhood spent wandering rural Ireland in Ballymore, Donegal on his grandmother’s Christian commune, Closed For The Festival masterfully straddles the line between warped joy and sinister naivety. As Orr states, “the songs are always trying to get to that moment of taking your hand and walking you into the woods on a pretty spring afternoon and then abandoning you there to figure out ‘how do I get out of here??’”

Closed For The Festival recalls the skewed electronica of Boards Of Canada, the dusted syncopations of Heathered Pearls, and the long-buried treasures uncovered by the Sublime Frequencies label, but is never willfully nostalgic in nature - each track is an incantation in honour of ‘thin places’, where the presence of an eternal moment seeps into the present moment - the uncanny feeling of which has followed The Midi Janitor throughout his life and creative work.

Commitment is an inevitability. Guitarist Jake Smith and drummer Pierce Jordan knew each other for years as friends and musicians in Philadelphia who desired to explore a more straightforward and hard-hitting sound as songwriters in positions they’d played in the past, but never together. Smith and Jordan spent months playing together and getting a feel for each other’s styles and viewpoints, specifically not making choices about a name or which influences to prioritize until the lineup was complete. As plain as it is that Commitment is about creating a pathway to new experiences, it’s also about strengthening existing relationships. For the band, Smith dragged his lifelong friend Zach Bailey out of rock n’ roll retirement to take up bass guitar. While not wanting to make any immediate decisions about other members, Smith and Jordan knew they wanted someone who had never played in a band before. A newcomer in any position results in a fresh perspective and approach, and at the front of a band typically includes a raw energy that often can’t be reproduced. They found this in Tati Salazar. Tati had mainly existed as a solo musician under the name The Childlike Empress (now known as Le Siren) and had built a significant listenership doing so. True as can be to the world of music, but new to singing in a hardcore punk band, Tati jumped in feet first, fitting in so naturally as the band’s vocalist that the rest of the band initially struggled to practice or even correctly perceive their new material without them.

Footballhead wears their 2000s-era influences on their waffle-knit longsleeves, with power chord drives and pummeling choruses, all sequenced together like the teeth of a skeleton key able to unlock core memories for people who’ve either been there or people who simply wonder what being there was like. Both the anthems and ballads on Weight of The Truth are waxed and polished to perfection like the lip of a favored skatepark ledge.

But underlying all that, even more impressively, is a grit and substance derived from years spent in the Chicago DIY scene, exposing themselves to different styles and influences equally out of necessity as out of interest. Towards an Expanse Follows the acclaimed 2020 collaborative album “Buffering Juju” with Kechou, a fellow South African musician and artist, lauded as Global album of the month and “a wonderfully inventive debut” in The Guardian.

Sometimes gospel, sometimes electro-psychedelic space travel, the project starts with a languid lament that whispers a close-to-the-ear invitation up and between the folds of what unfurls into an ever-expanding sonic universe.

Towards an Expanse began in 2019 at Figure 8 Studios (Brooklyn, NYC) under the generous guidance of Shahzad Ismaily. It was written in Port Alfred and Cape Town and matured in Berlin and has evolved into a companion, a pulsating vessel of grief, vitality, and reclamation. The album meditates on learning to live with damage while regaining autonomy over how Black life is archived: a dialogue between the artist, her ancestors,
voices like Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo, Princess Magogo, Madosini, and the psychoacoustics of South Africa’s lore as a timeless technology. It brings these elders into a conversation with Dumama’s global orientation
and experimental sensibilities.

The Bay Area’s electro-pop underground gets a neon-lit revival with a limited repress of The Limousines’ cult-classic 2010 debut album, Get Sharp, on frosted pink vinyl.

The album features the single “Internet Killed the Video Star,” a blog-era anthem with an instantly recognizable synth line and a self-aware chorus that captured the anxieties and possibilities of the digital age. Heavy rotation at alternative radio juggernaut Live 105 helped transform the song into a regional hit and an indie-dance mainstay.

Every mother has a unique story. One thing is true for every mother, though: There’s no deadline quite like a pregnancy.

Award-winning Toronto singer-songwriter Abigail Lapell was pregnant with her first child when she booked studio time on Vancouver Island to make an album about motherhood. The nine songs on Shadow Child — one for each month of gestation — had to be ready before then, and her return flight was booked on the last day she could safely fly in her third trimester.

Working with producer Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Black Mountain), Lapell finished her songs in the studio and on rural walks beside the Pacific Ocean. She enlisted some of her favourite singers, all British Columbians, all mothers: Frazey Ford, Jill Barber, Pharis Romero. “They’re all people with unique, distinctive voices,” she says, “which is what I’m drawn to.”

Musically, Lapell was looking for a stark, acoustic sound, as opposed to 2024’s Juno Award-nominated Anniversary (recorded in Niagara with Great Lake Swimmers’ Tony Dekker) and 2022’s acclaimed Stolen Time (recorded in Montreal with Howard Bilerman, featuring E Street Band saxophonist Jake Clemons).

Lapell’s road to motherhood was fraught, involving years of IVF and a 2023 miscarriage — that she experienced on stage while on tour. (She finished her set.) Her son was born in November 2024. The song cycle of Shadow Child covers joy and loss, using metaphors from Maritime tragedy, “little cannibals,” reproductive health, acquiring language, and lives altered by the arrival of a newborn. The title track refers to ultrasound imaging of “a liminal person that doesn’t quite exist yet,” says Lapell. “Their status is ontologically blurry.”

Deaf Florists, the alias of Conor Wheeler, returns with a powerful new EP on trUst Recordings, the imprint founded by Saoirse. A key figure in the pre-social media UK techno and bass underground, Wheeler first made his mark in the early 2010s with his label Nineteen89, operating alongside the era that birthed influential collectives such as Night Slugs, Swamp81 and Hessle Audio.

After years spent navigating the industry—managing artists, overseeing A&R for major labels, and curating club nights at some of the UK’s most respected venues—Wheeler channels 17 years of deep listening and lived experience into Deaf Florists. The project moves fluidly between peak-time intensity and introspective depth, unbound by strict genre lines.

Lead track “Squelch, already a highly ID’d fixture in Saoirse’s DJ sets, is built around a corrosive acid line from a Roland TB-03, reinforced by a Behringer Crave counter bass and a pitched-down vocal command to “get down.” “Melt” detonates with industrial force, inspired by the chaos of a reactor in meltdown—earning Saoirse’s succinct verdict: “It’s a bomb.” Closing cut “Gunk” nods to the hypnotic repetition of Mr G, transforming a stripped-back DJ tool into a distorted techno workout primed for dark rooms.

Milan Records are excited to announce the release of TRAVESÍA, an album of music by prolific composer, producer, and artist RYUICHI SAKAMOTO curated by five-time Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu. Budapest-based concept label, Blue Sun is launching their new line of vinyl focused releases, aimed primarily on DJs and collectors: the Blue Series. A counterpart to the Orange Series launched last year that showcases a more upbeat side of the label, the new collection presents a darker, more experimental, and introspective musical vision.

The first release in the Blue Series is a six-track EP by Budapest based multimedia artist, Virág Réti. Choosing her legal name as her artist persona (“Flower of the Meadow" in Hungarian) also with the track titles capturing the folk names of local fauna, Peremidő evokes the artist's innate connection to nature as a place of refuge from the noise of Eastern European urban life.

The EP’s motifs point back to early memories of sitting by a river, simply observing time flowing by. The arc of the songs follow the passage of a day, beginning with the hesitant sounds of early morning, gradually moving on toward more defined, rhythm-driven forms. As the airy textures slowly give way to structure and percussion comes to the forefront, the sense of direction becomes clearer, letting moments of gentle disorder and unexpected sounds to surface.

Virág previously appeared on the label’s Blue Sun VA II compilation with her track Bíbic. Since launching her ambient music project in the fall of 2024, she has become one of the promising newcomers in the Hungarian experimental electronic music scene. Her debut EP, Minden Ami Megmaradt (All That Remains), was released last November as the final offering of temporary nites label (2023–2025). She is also the founder and organizer of the Budapest-based experimental electronic event series Still Places.

A new release curated by Mystic Jungle, founder of Periodica Records, who - together with a small group of artists - has spent the past decade shaping a distinctive sound in his recording studio based in one of the most remote areas of Napoli.

This second release on the West Hill Music catalogue features the voice of American singer Roxana, alongside guitar contributions by Yugoslavian musician Igor Sekulović.

The A-side, "Can’t Make You Out", unfolds as a crepuscular track with a laid-back, exotic atmosphere, marked by subtle funk-rock influences. On the B-side, a stripped-down mutant-funk track built around electronic drums and a repeated vocal chorus leaves space for minimal arrangements and textured guitar lines to emerge.
