Shot At Dawn is a scintillating return for a band who have been collectively quiet (but individually busy) for a few years, and (once again) sounds like the music of tomorrow. Lyricist Leon Mayes wills the real revolution to come, Morris's uneasy keys and driving, bittersweet production embodies the UK's collective anxiety/apathy coupled with an impending sense of doom, as we all obediently troop off the cliff like lemmings, while vocalist Michelle Manetti's melancholy delivery is the perfect foil both, recalling Tracey Thorn at her best.

It's a genuine wake-up call for the dance floor that's dropping well with club DJs but clearly has the potential to shine fully on radio. A2 track Warm Your Love is an equally forward-facing slice of sci-fi dance music sonically and already turbo-charging the dance floor with its futuristic feel.

The remixes come from Edinburgh/London duo Leonidas & Hobbes and are the first productions they've released since 2017's summer anthem and Release Of The Year, Web Of Intrigue (from their Rags of Time EP), as voted by some 400+ DJs on Bill Brewster's DJ History podcast back in January. Montreal's Minimal Techno veteran Pheek offers up a milestone vinyl release for the onset of this Spring Season. Lumo EP offers four vibrant dance-floor compositions, each delving into its own labyrinthine mindscape, leaving no stones unturned in an ethereal garden of listening. Lumo invites us into exotic, sprawling atmospheres- crafted with excessive care and the unmistakable studio-finesse that Pheek has become known for. Lovers of drums will be assured troves of bass-heavy, broken-beats and skittering, jazz-infused patterns which delicately tease and tantalize as they appear and flicker out. On Paranoia, Oliver Huntemann's prowess and versatility as a producer is evident, from the space age minimalism of 'Magnet', through to more melodic, upbeat productions such as 'The End', in which warm sounds resonate through the listener.

Good morning children, welcome to school ! What might be known from "Ipoly Mate 003", got a very different context here in the title track. Heavy club food, flavoured by Alec Troniq's love for the energy of the early 90s. "The Chain" was originally induced by Old Man Trouble and then impulsively got the blues by Alec Troniq. It has a special place in their hearts and continues Alec's series of crossover-collaborations in 2014.

After tearing up Ibiza and the world over this season, Mind Games is finally clawing its way out of select record boxes and into record stores everywhere. Joining Mind Games is its evil twin, 'Public Lies'. Equally epic, Public Lies builds to a fever pitch with familiar but not quite normal synth tones soaring wildly overhead. Anyhow fresh but still trusts! 4CR comes with his second vinyl - release,
and it sounds fat. "Menschenskind" has delivered with "Tequila" this time
a real Minimal House bomb with catchy tune character. Organic guitar -
samples and fresh Grooves sound like the fruity sweet taste of summer
which drips in the dusty and dry desert. A touch of western, High Noon
and heat under cloudless sky. "Menschenskind" gives us with Tequila an
acoustic place under the sun, the suitable drink and just the pure groove.
Alec Troniq, Sonntagsmusikant and Tinush deliver their great remixes on
top. While Sonntagsmusikant holds the striking theme first a little more
covered and comes along even more minimally, Alec Troniq with a stylish
variation of the subject rocks more offensively forwards. Tinush adds with
his Remix some Coolness and completes this 4CR Release. This package is
the fruity cocktail, which runs down the dusty throat, while the smell of
the sun and desert is omnipresent. Get a drink, and enjoy Tequila!

Sans Merit arrives on Knekelhuis with his second album Trolley Polly. A radiant album from currently LA-based Australian musician Griffin James—one that leans into unguarded joy with a playful, disarming sincerity.

The album rocks right away into our world. Lifting off where the guitar pedals mash the gas and go. While at other moments the acoustic guitar passages carry a neofolk intimacy, like the low-voiced choir singer cast out of a pastoral world, left to wander in his own solitude. These moments are swept up by surging shoegaze episodes, slipping into hazy hypnagogic pop interludes and wiry post-punk turns, giving the record a restless, shifting pulse.

Beneath it all lies a lyrical sensitivity that grounds the album’s movement. Sans Merit reflects on the big questions in a world that feels increasingly fragile, balancing vulnerability with a self-aware, gently naïve humor, while staying attuned to the emotional undercurrents of everyday life. It’s this perspective that makes Trolley Polly feel so human—alive in its contradictions, and quietly comforting.

The collaborative project of Lawrence English and Werner Dafeldecker has consistently been concerned with processes of transformation. This is all the more true for »Fathom Tides,« the duo’s second album for Hallow Ground following up on »Tropic of Capricorn« from 2023. Using field recordings collected from diverse coastal environments made by English and later treated extensively by Dafeldecker, the two sound artists explore cyclical changes in nature across these seven pieces. Through its abstracted soundscapes, »Fathom Tides« poses concrete questions: What impact do we have on the world we inhabit?

»Tropic of Capricorn« was based on material English had recorded around Australia to highlight the country’s colonial past. On »Fathom Tides,« water and tides provided a conceptual framework for the duo’s remote working process—notions of states of action and tidal dynamics becoming guiding principles in their work with the source material. English and Dafeldecker were led by the question how the morphing of solid forms into more liquid states might be captured and used as compositional guides for their respective preparations treatments and the addition of electronics to the source material.

While eroding coastlines, river systems, and glacial transformation served as inspiration, the seven pieces resulted out of the two sound artists paying close attention to seemingly minute details through which immediate and distant histories peek through often in the most unexpected and rewarding ways. Hence, »Fathom Tides« does not provide a macro view on the catastrophic changes humans have facilitated on Earth. It is its own sound world guided by both the pace of its subjects and a recognition that time is fluid—a reminder that our clocks are not those of the world around us.

Ob Krypto-Mensch oder Krypto-Substanz, es wird auf jeden Fall eine verhängnisvolle Affäre. Molas Musik ist die ungeschönte Antithese zu einer rosaroten Welt.
Sie feiert sich kaputt, zieht dich mit in ihr inneres Chaos und verzichtet auf übliche romantisierende Verklärungen der unbarmherzigen Orientierungslosigkeit, die einen nach der letzten Kippe auf dem Nachhauseweg einholt.?Das Album erzählt düster und doch fragil von kompromisslosen Autopilot Nächten die uns vereinen und trennen. Temporär reduziert intim, um dann in ikonischem 80er "Purpel Rain" Pathos zu eskalieren, illustriert MOLA das Gefühlschaos, das der innere Dialog von linker und rechter Gehirnhälfte in ihr auslöst.
Bei MOLA werden alle Erfahrungen misstrauisch auf links gedreht, um zu sehen was sich hinter der alltagstauglichen Fassade verbirgt. Sie kehrt ihr Inneres nach außen und spricht an was sie verletzt - unverzerrt, nicht übertrieben, nahbar.?MOLA beschreibt die eigenen Tiefschläge mit trotzigem Selbstbewusstsein, ohne sentimentaler Glasur.
"Schnee im Sommer" könnte ein Album einer 80er Jahre Punkrockband mit Liebeskummer sein, aber auch einer Alternative Band aus den 90ern kurz vor ihrem Urlaub in einer Betty Ford Klinik.

Rostams drittes Album, American Stories, erscheint am 15. Mai und ist sein erstes neues Album seit über fünf Jahren. Der iranisch-amerikanische Künstler und renommierte Produzent kehrt mit einem Album zurück, das sein Leben in zwei kulturellen Welten beleuchtet. Die Musik verwebt Elemente der amerikanischen und persischen Tradition und verbindet Fingerpicking auf der Gitarre, Pedal Steel und gezupfte Akkorde mit mikrotonalen persischen Melodien. ,Diese Verbindung von Ost und West fühlte sich wie die Musik an, die ich für dieses Album machen musste." Rostams Texte, in denen er seine eigenen Erfahrungen verwebt, sind eine Sammlung von Geschichten und Reflexionen. ,The Weight" spielt im Frühjahr 2025 auf College-Campus in Amerika. In ,Forgive is to Know" verarbeitet Rostam reale Ereignisse und den Akt des Songwritings selbst. Rostam reflektiert das Ende einer Beziehung in ,Hardy ft. Clairo" und setzt sich mit der ungewissen Zukunft der Menschheit auseinander. Das Ergebnis ist ein Album, das sich zutiefst individuell und doch unverkennbar amerikanisch anfühlt. ,Letztendlich hoffe ich, dass die Zuhörer Trost in diesem Album finden und ich möchte den Menschen ein Gefühl des Optimismus vermitteln."
