In 1976 Michael Hoenig had a brief collaboration with Ash Ra Tempel's
Manuel Gottsching in Berlin; A 48-minute recording of one of the
sessions, which was released in 1995 under the title "Early Water" on
Bernd Kistenmacher's Musique Intemporelle label. The album was deletedand unavailable for a long time
Now, finally, a re-issue of "Early Water" will be available again.
Michael Hoenig still remembers: "While I had been working on the "Departure From The Northern Wasteland" album, Manuel Gottsching had asked me if I would team up with him for some concerts in France, since his group had just gone through one of its hibernation
periods. We rehearsed in my place for three or four weeks. One evening we got a call regarding some missing guarantee, which ultimately led to the decision to cancel the tour. Just for fun, we played one of the planned sets for a last time.
Even though I do not recall pressing a record button, somebody recently dug up a Revox tape of that very set. After performing some digital sonic archaeology on it, it was just released under the very appropriate title Early Water."
And Manuel Gottsching adds: "Unfortunately, some of the concert dates were not confirmed in time and we had to cancel the complete tour just on the day before we wanted to leave for France.
On that evening, nevertheless, we recorded our last rehearsal "just in case". It turned out as a flowing harmonic piece, reflecting much of the optimistic air of 1976. Michael made his 'departure' to Los Angeles in the early 1980ies. When we met again in November 1994 I proposed to release this old track of ours. Michael took the original tape to Los Angeles, lovingly restored it and - well, here is it again!"

“Dandelion” blooms a previously undiscovered and unknown sweet spot between 60’s psychedelia and 70’s power-pop, equally pastoral and street-wise, every note tuned to moving and astounding melody. “Dandelion” offers lush arrangements of unforgettable, legend-making songs, performed entirely by Daniel himself.

Can You Afford To Lose Me?‘‘ digital.

Alto saxophonist Jackie McLean had the blues on his mind when he went into Van Gelder Studio in 1961 to record his hard bop masterpiece Bluesnik with a blazing quintet featuring Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Kenny Drew on piano, Doug Watkins on bass, and Pete La Roca on drums. The six-song set of bluesy originals brims with immediacy and vibrancy.

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

The Rolling Stones legen die ultimative Live Best Of Sammlung vor: ”GRRR Live!”

The latest album by Pomme, Consolation imposes itself, confident and determined to prove her as the important artist she is. Consolation is a joy that necessarily comes from a pain and its beautiful ashes. "Consolation" has been an enormous success, acclaimed by the media, it was released last August. On February 10, Pomme will release "Lot 2 consolation", the long-awaited reissue of his scrapbook. With its 5 new titles, Reviews and Ads – R2 and London Macadam.

A collection of improvisational electronic mantras, premiered earlier this year on NTS, where Parisian artist Shelter explores odd meters, Indian-inspired drum cycles and expansive drone harmonics. It's a dreamed folklore, reminiscent of Hariprasad Chaurasia and Charanjit Singh's Eternity, John Hassel's fourth world or Craig Leon's Nommos. The LP blurs the line between organic and synthesis where drum machines melt into surreal harmonium textures and programming is indistinguishable from improvisation.

Originally born in days of a global lockdown, Johannes Albert gets ready for a second round of Ambient music. "Spessart II" follows the footprints of its predecessor and keeps things mostly quiet yet very thrilling at the same time. Starting off with "Frischling" the beat maker takes us on a calm synth trip through his home forest Spessart, using wild boar - Wildschwein - vocabulary all the way. Sparks of early Downbeat ("Gewaff"), even Trip Hop ("Überläufer") and instrumental Sade ("Leitbache") occur in the well balanced 8 track album. Johannes' dad Rudi adds to the vibe playing the Jagdhorn on "Keiler". If you like the band "The Art Of Noise" you will most likely love this too.

Bones for Time signifie1s a watershed moment in Tongue Depressor's artistic evolution. Over the course of four expansive tracks, Henry Birdsey and Zach Rowden expound upon the formal and technical characteristics that have defined Tongue Depressor's oeuvre up to this point. Oscillating microtonal drones and spectral smears of pedal steel guitar are now augmented by the disembodied presence of tattered tape loops. The days narrow, dragged forth into a voidal expanse. Sometimes, the void looks back.(Adam Buffington)

25 Jahre nach Falco’s Tod erscheint Out Of The Dark am 10.02.2023 als limitierte 10” Vinyl Edition
(Farbe: Glow In The Dark Transparent)

Moton Records hand the keys to their castle to Razor-N-Tape co-captain JKriv, with the Brooklyn bossman repaying the gesture with four top shelf edits from his esteemed locker. Digging in the depths, there’s a flavour for every occasion here that span the world over.

Kid Cudi teilt stolz mit: „Entergalactic is everything I’ve always wanted to do, create a long-form visual companion to an album.”

Dropping in January 2023 is the reissue of DJ Shulemaster's album EXP, which Tresor Records first released in 2001. This expanded reissue comes as a 3xLP with new artwork by Japanese designer Sk8thing and combines the original CD release tracks with three tracks from the Angel Gate 12" from the same year, including a remix by Surgeon of Experience. Also present is a previously unreleased version of Innervisions, which replaces the assonant synths of the original with a looped vocal sample upfront. Climb and Guiding Light will feature as digital-only tracks.
Tatsuya Kanamori remains a critical component of the Tokyo techno underground scene, initially coming to the fore through the Subvoice label before releases with Tresor, Theory Recordings, and Japanese record labels such as Disq and Reel Musiq. At the moment of the original release, DJ Shulemaster considered the record to draw in disparate and latent ideas into a fully encompassing mesh - "I would like to show my thoughts and everything that I am through the album. If it doesn't reflect my ideas and the reasons that I live for, there is no meaning for me to create an album. Therefore, EXP doesn't contain just one theme or concept."
EXP represents an uncompromising and psychedelic slant on techno, with a purist's focus on the dancefloor. It bridges many avenues within the techno genre, from the minimalist, dubby terrains of tracks like P.F.L.P. and Opaqueness, to more fierce percussive works that share a kinship with the sonic movements in Berlin, Detroit and
the UK. Beyond the technical, pared-down techno found in tracks such as EXP and Onto The Body, the album leaps into unpredictable territories frequently. Angel Exit carries mystical UK steppers moods as if it were a long-lost dubplate of The Rootsman. Kanamori delves deep into looping digital grunge in Flowers of Cantarella and Dawn
Purple, these synthetic worlds enveloping and deforming at will. Bold and as fresh as ever, EXP is an unearthed jewel from Tresor's past for new ears.

Re-mastered from the original master tapes.
Limited edition 2000 copies.
180 gr vinyl pressed by Optimal in Germany.
Facsimile reissue using the original photos on front and back by Herman Leonard.
Double insert using an original photo by JP Leloir.
Each record has been visually checked to prevent defects.

LIMITED EDITION DREAD BLACK VINYL LP, WITH THREE DOUBLE SIDED A4 INSERTS AND DOWNLOAD CODE. HOUSED IN PRINTED OUTER SLEEVE WITH POILYLINED INNER, AND HYPE STICKER. NON-RETURNABLE.
Bruxa Maria are G. Dread: Guitar, Vocals-Dave Cochrane : Bass (Head of David, God, Terminal Cheesecake) - Paul Antony: Drums (Ghold, Test Dept) - Robbie Judkins: Synth noise (Left Hand Cuts off The Right)
Bruxa Maria are back on their third full length; be grateful. “Build Yourself A Shrine And Pray” is 45 minutes of pummelling, punishing fury as unrelenting and all-consuming as your anger at coming up short for the rent.
The new record finds the band just as enraged as their 2016 debut, while continuing to evolve artistically. Bruxa Maria’s huge bass and guitar, frantic drums, and banshee shrieking vocals build tension with few moments of release, the frenzy sometimes dissolving into feedback, static, and synth drones.
Often the riffs have a swagger that makes you want to dance, and in a few places there are flashes of some genuinely pretty melodies and hooks. Those moments all shine through for just an instant before being shredded by the noise and wrath, torn apart flower petals under a line of razor wire.
This is dark music about and against a darkening world, where anger and art are crucial to how we keep on keeping on. You can call it now, this is going to be the best record of 2023.'
(Nate Holdren)

New York heavyweights Emskee and Saint are The Good People and teamed up with French producer Shar The Analog Bastard for this superb EP released as digital only back in September 2020. Around the same time AE Productions dropped Emskee’s Wall To Wall 12” and while talking back and forth we arranged to release The Fall Back EP on AE. Unfortunately pressing vinyl became very difficult due to worldwide lockdowns so is only now ready for release even though it was sent to manufacture back in June 2021.

If you missed the digital release and if you dig real deal intelligent Hip Hop with a couple stellar MC’s over that classic SP1200 soundscape this EP is for you and if a guest verse each from the beyond legendary Masta Ace and El Da Sensei plus the not so well known but very dope Meraxx is your cup of tea look no further.

Remastered for vinyl by our mastering engineer of choice Rola and artwork by the multitalented Saint. Available on 6 track black vinyl EP supplied in full colour heavy grade card sleeve plus available from all the usual digital services to stream or download but please see The Good People and Shar’s Bandcamp pages for better file types.

2 Grammys, Golden Globe, Emmy, BAFTA u.a.) isländischen Komponistin und Cellistin Hildur Guðnadóttir
(Joker, Chernobyl, Battlefield 2042 u.a.)

In a Hip Hop match-up as heavy as Freddy vs Jason was to horror cinema, Los Angeles emcee's Mykill Miers and Pawz One have announced a collaborative album titled "Double Homicide". The project is packed with multi-syllabic lyrical barrages and DJ cuts as gritty as the boom-bap backdrops for a journey through the dark underbelly of the city of angels.

Mykill Miers, the self-proclaimed "Hitchcock Of Hip Hop" has been a threat on the mic since the late 90's, coming up in the same circle as notables including Planet Asia, Dilated Peoples and Phil The Agony. Pawz One has been releasing music for the past decade has been repping hard for the real ish. Speaking on their initial link-up Pawz recalls "I had obviously known of Myk for a while from killing it on the "Wake Up Show" to all the work he dropped. I was circulating around shows in LA a few years back and we ended up on the same bill a few times. We exchanged contact and did a few songs and I felt like it was a combo people would like to hear more from."

Production on the album includes work from Default Beats, Big Bob, Phaisrok, DJ Ray Swift, Science and Mykill Miers himself. Turntablists including DJ Rhettmatic, DJ Merk1200, DJ Breeze, DJ Romes and DJ Fastcut lend their skills and emcees including Ruste Juxx, Mic Handz, Edo.G, El Da Sensei, King Magnetic and Buddah.

Draconian Times is probably the main album for Paradise Lost, so much so that they still tour the album today, which remains one of the milestones in the Metal scene of all time. Recorded at The Forum in London, this live set includes a few fan favorite tracks from their extensive back catalogue which rounded out a truly spectacular performance. Are there any highlights? Oh yes. Opening track ‘Enchantment’ still ranks as one of the best songs this band has penned and the moment when the haunting piano intro gives way to the rest of the band kicking in is a real shiver-down-the-spine moment. ‘Hallowed Land’ and ‘Forever Failure’ (complete with Charles Manson intro) sound as powerful and relevant as when they first came out, and the performance of ‘Shadow Kings’ stands head and shoulders above the original. After being released on DVD and CD, the album was also released on double vinyl, here you will find two new unreleased colors and a truly exceptional packaging: this album comes out in deluxe Triple Gatefold edition, in two colors (Gold / Silver) 500 limited edition each.

The musical partnership between vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson and tenor saxophonist Harold Land fully blossomed on the 1970 album San Francisco, which found the musicians moving into fusion territory with relentlessly grooving tunes like “Goin’ Down South” and “Ummh” counterbalanced by exploratory pieces like the mesmerizing “Prints Tie.”

This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

Matador
World’s Strongest Man
Inspiriert von Grayson Perrys ”The Descent of Man”, Frank
”World’s Strongest Man” ein kühnes, ehrgeiziges, frei denkendes, zukunftsweisendes Rock’n’Roll-Album.

For us at 1985 Music, our Various Artists series are extremely important. It not only provides a great platform to celebrate music from a wide range of artists, but it also enables us to promote both veterans and newcomers in the scene and to introduce them as part of our extended family. We are very excited to share the second part of our Atlas series which includes both new and familiar faces.

Mozes And The Firstborn liefern waghalsigen Garagen Pop, catchy Surfmomente, kratzige Gitarrenriffs, Ahh's und Ohh's gewürzt mit reichlich Selbstironie.
