Like looking closer at the ground to see there is movement within, focus acutely and see the life within life.


Gene Tellem launches her own label Bienvenue Records, welcoming you to a world of sounds for all the extroverted introverts out there. With headquarters at La Rama in Montreal, we plan on assisting your journey through local & international sounds.


For this first EP Gene lays down the foundation for what is to come. Journey agent tracks for all looking to experience the music, an extended groove, more than just a drop & repeat. ‘Groove PM’ sets the scene, we play in the sun during the day and at night we smooth out the rigid edges of the hustle. ’N’ You’ is here to get you in touch with your natural swing, ride on the simplicity of moderate changes and witness just how much we have. ‘Tender As A Rhodes’ is an ode to that thing that changed it all, the universal jazz sound, dub it out, stretch it out, and watch the whole room come together. As the morning comes we get ‘Chipped’, dance ’til the next day comes and hit the streets with a little pep in your step. Crossing paths with your neighbours on the way home, they might not know but all who witnessed do, we who dance the night are the warriors that keep the light on in the darkness.

August 23rd, 2019 marks the return of label heads Abstract Division to their own imprint with a new EP. It has been 2 years since Abstract Division released a new solo EP on DREF and it was worth the wait.

CAIN closes out his Fine Grains triptych with a vivacious EP of signature bass shuddering, polyrhythmic drums. ‘High Call’, his first 12” on the now Amsterdam-based label, offers 6 original tracks and a remix by Japanese producer Jun Kamoda in homage to the revelatory spirit and pre-medieval origins of carnivals. Artwork by Dutch/Scottish artist Roos Dijkhuizen created through ink and water drawings.

Colours emerge from the dark, glowing torches and fire embers flicker through the night. ‘Caapi’ warmly draws you into proceedings, an alluring tease of soothing chimes and preview of the infectious shuffling drums that will follow. From ‘Apsara’, Cain sets us on the front foot. A pounding, stuttering rhythm ignites the track, as spinning chord sounds echo and a haunting, hallucinatory vocal lead us on. The carnival is fully alive in ‘Gundon Night’, a sinister and menacing broken track steered by Cosssack warrior chants. High on the mountain we reach the pinnacle of ‘High Call’, a triumphant lead track with CAIN’s recognisable warm and driving, rhythmical drum patterns. The otherworldly psychoacoustic melodies of ‘Taiyi’ and slower-paced triplet drums structures of ‘Zetwal’ make these tracks the outliers of the EP, but they also complement and help to complete the picture. Jun Kamoda’s zany turned up marching techno take on the lead track signs out ‘High Call’ in playful, multi-coloured order.

Formerly of Chroma, with releases on RAM, Renegade Hardware, Commercial Suicide, CIA and more, Tyrone is now out to make a statement as a solo act.

Reinhard Voigt returns to his own label KOMPAKT with another episode of satiric techno to enlighten today’s current trend of deadpan dance music. Since the 1990’s, Reinhard has brought an unparalleled spirit into the techno scene through outrageously energetic live shows and the many releases under alias such as SRI, Pentax plus of course his ongoing collaboration Voigt & Voigt together with esteemed brother, Wolfgang Voigt. Reinhard embraces all that wildlife has to offer with “Was wir spüren”. Starting things off with the future afterparty anthem, “Das singende, klingende Ding” the bass drum is there to guide the lost and found through a voracious bee storm as the rooster crows gloriously towards duck quacking oblivion. “Tausendmal zu viel” fits perfectly as the soundtrack for to the artwork created by Mareena von Cube – a tormented hymn loops its way to the warriors of the never world. “Der Mann, der nie nach Deutz kam” is classic Reinhard Voigt techno at peak-time point. A throttling bass drum is voraciously fuelled by the jungle twilight.

Dubplate’s Don Persian has repressed this Hardcore Breaks Techno Riddim, seeing there were only 100 in existence before going for crazy prices, now including a mix from S.Bell capturing a shimmering soundscape vibe, adding perfection to his unsung abilities. This E.P. has some speaker destroyer’s on there, introducing the MixMaster Max into the pot alongside the Persian doing what can only be called world dub music. Sterling breaks shuffling at a downtempo 8 bit vibe with a really heavy bass! MixMaster Max’s history is interesting to say the least...

Born October 1966. Break Dancer in 1984, under the moniker Mad Max, started a crew named The Back Street Warriors, busking all over the UK at places such as Covent Garden/Leicester Square Performing on stage & in clubs. They once jammed with The Rock Steady Crew in Camden Palace in front of an audience.

Then in 1987 he became a DJ, playing all genre’s of music, he first played on RJR Radio, playing Electro, Hip Hop, Soul, R&B & Reggae. Moving forward he started playing Acid House & Four to the Floor Music styles, by the early 90’s he played on Weekend Rush & then went onto Defection, Touchdown, Don & Passion FM, playing Acid & Hardcore Jungle.

In the early day’s, MixMaster Max was one of the Innovator’s of Jungle music by mixing Hardcore, Reggae & Hip Hop together, helping other’s to produce, fuse & gain idea’s in the music industry. He was by Far the most Original, Innovative, DJ anybody had ever heard.

In 1991 he played alongside John Saunderson at the Camden Palace on a Friday night, he also played at the Famous Hacienda Club in Manchester.

He was the first DJ to create the Topsy Turvey, which is one turntable on top of the other, he came runner up in the DMC World Championships in the early 90’s.

He played at some of the Biggest Rave’s back in the day, Pirate club 93, Fantazia 92, Dungeon’s 91/92, Turnmills 92, to mention a few. He also played on Avenues FM & People’s Choice, which were legal Radio Station’s, not forgetting Kool FM & Centreforce.

He performed on stage with the We Papa Girl Rapper’s in 1990 at the Notting Hill Carnival. This Legendary Cult figure is a Master of the Nunchucker’s & TurnTable’s!

His innovative Mixes were ‘legendary’ he was a pioneer precursor to the Art form known as Jungle Music, not to mention his Scratching abilities, which was ‘extraordinary’!

For those that listened to pirate radio back in the day, he was the legendary cult figure that inspired us all, giving us the freshest musical styles that had never been heard before!

He can still be heard on Radio today...What an inspiration this Unsung Hero has been to us All!

Cryovac Recordings is a collection of artists with a personal style that bleeds through their work. Cryovac artists have a relentless energy and passion for the music called techno. They are warriors with a clear vision and discipline on a course that is their own. The Cryovac crew believes in the vinyl record and has always been drawn to its’ unique quality it gives to sound. Rebecca Goldberg twists the 303 around a relentless 4/4 groove that evolves tweaks and pops into a sonic neurosis. Her yin yang approach applies a smooth steady delivery moving parallel to a raucous funk. The collaborative effort of Andy Garcia and Mike Kretsch produced a techno with moody rises and falls, stark kicks, and eerie effects held together with heroic energy. Toms and knocks, digital barks and farts, random clicks and ticks all fall into a galloping composition.

We pull the trigger with his deadliest of weapons 'Trigger My Sequencer'. A full throttled four-to-the-floor doppler dance werk out. The expelling of his drexciyan demons continues with the polar cap melting 'Thermo Drive', a deep dive into aquatic funk & electro dub waves.

On the flip, slicing chord stabs and pulsing signals launch us back into the milky way with 'Halley's Comet'. The fusion of Kraftwerk inspired grooves & pulsing alpha juno synth lines pair perfectly to make it a certified electro cult classic. To kick off 2019 Haven are setting their sights on the farthest reaches of the resurgence in EBM. New Zealand based hardware warrior Body Beat Ritual grew up in the UK exposed to the body music of the 80s and 90s and his experiments in industrial-tinged dance tracks inspired by the likes of Front Line Assembly, Ministry, Subpoena The Past, Nitzer Ebb, and Revolting Cocks were made in complete isolation from, and with no awareness of, the EBM resurgence in Europe's clubland.

This EP represents the first of Body Beat Rituals explorations into this sound. The A1 starts the EP with 'Instinct Primitive' - a certified body moving slammer featuring haunting screams, samples ruminating schizophrenia, a funky bass-line and drum rolls aplenty. The A2 welcomes Poland's VTSS to Haven for the first time with a bouncy gabber kick and distorted tones on her tough remix of 'Instinct Primitive'. The B1 begins the flip with the hectic drum workout, cutting bass and synth programming and political samples of 'Crash Report', followed by the destructive drums and scratchy timbre of Blush Response's remix on the B2. Not one to be missed for fans of dance-floor focused, gnarled industrial techno and EBM!

* These recordings stretch back to the tail end of the late 1980's, with the original line up of Dub The Earth, who were one of a few dub reggae-inspired groups sprouting up in the west of England in those times, such as Military Surplus (who morphed into Radical Dance Faction), Rhythmites and Revolutionary Dub Warriors who all had a strong presence in the free festival scene in the UK at that time.* Featuring the late Steve Swann (Revolutionary Dub Warriors, On-U Sound) on vccals and mixed & produced by Rej Forte from Jah Works.

The man, the myth, the legend ... back in the 80s Jesse Rae, along with Roger Troutman and Bernie Worrell, was part of the P-Funk movement that was hugely influential to Detroit's early electronic experiments. Lesser known is that the enigmatic Scot-funk warrior later produced underground electronic tracks in the 90s. The inaugural release on Glasgow label Southside Shufflers presents two of Jesse's Shufflers on vinyl for the first time on the Global 95 EP- a sampler from his pioneering 1995 album 'Compression'. Ever the innovator, Jesse recorded the album collaboratively using live ISDN technology spanning three continents, with the resultant tracks fusing African, US electro-funk and old Scots influences. 23 years later, Jesse's under the radar Shufflers sound more relevant than ever.

Dubbed by Igloo Magazine as the 'Romanian Detroit electro/techno pioneer' and by the late Aaron Carl as 'the Romanian Underground Resistance himself', Andrew Red Hand from Romania's spiritual capital of lasi stands up as an unwavering militant of the underground, a true Detroit spirit possessed as Romanian humanoid!

From his early gigs throwing parties as one of the first generation DJs in lasi since 1997, ARH continues to break boundaries as part of the Romanian resistance scene and numerous time portals as they open around Europe. His blistering, mind-bending sets such as at Berlin's Tresor and Griessmuehle see the DJ with the red hand fuse pure Detroit electro and techno with the sounds of techno-bass, raw Chicago acid house, classics and futuristic beats. His mixes for Radio UR (Underground Resistance) and The Grid (Detroit Techno Militia) remain some of the best frequency transmissions to surface to air.

Armed with a Soviet Union reel to reel Majak 203, his scorching raw analogue and searing acid productions have been picked up by foundational Detroit labels such as Twilight 76, Matrix, Detroit Underground, Databass, Detroit Techno Militia, Cratesavers Intl, Visillusion as well as around the world from Holland's iconic M>O>S Recordings to 1Ø Pills Mate (Lobster Theremin), Bass Agenda and Land Of Dance. On his remix list includes work for Scan 7, Santonio Echois, Thomas Barnett, Sean Deason, Niko Marks, Six Foe, T.Linder and more while support from Anthony Shake Shakir, DJ Bone, Dave Clarke, DJ Godfather has been garnered for our sonic warrior... Beware of the Red Hand!

First released in 1995 on Jonah's own Aba Christos Tafari Records,Intergalactic Dub Rockis a trip. While the 90s rave continuum buried down the hole of cosmic sci-fi culture, dub's fascination turned elsewhere after 80s touch-stones like Shaka'sBrimstone & FireandCaptain Ganja and the Space Patrol(re-issued by Bokeh last year). But Jonah takes things way far on this, his most adventurous outing: let your needle cruise along these bleeps and strings of 50s space travelling dreams, and the flutes and melodicas of planet earth, hear them clang with the hardest dub FX units the UK could buy at the time. It's one of the most righteous and outward-looking steppas LPs, now liberated from the hands of Discogs-types with a previously CD-only bonus track, 'White Nile'.

Inyotef, Bongoman, Jahman Dan, Kheru - Jonah Dan goes by many names and many trades - akete nyabinghi master, vocalist, producer and filmmaker. For many years he was the go-to studio percussionist for the UK dub scene, collaborating with basically everyone: Paul Fox, Jah Warrior, Robert Tribulation, Jah Fingers, Tony Roots, Alpha and Omega. Along with Bush Chemists (stars of BKV 020...) and Disciples, he toured the continent, spreading the message of UK dub and laying the seeds for a lot of the EU scene today. At some point his Aba Christos Tafari Records morphed into Inner Sanctuary, one of the greatest 90s labels still in operation, go check.

UK Dub legend Vibronics brings you a new vocal & dub album that celebrates women in Reggae & Dub. 'Woman On A Mission' is a new release featuring 8 female vocalists on 8 brand new Vibronics tracks. The album presents time-honoured Vibronics associates, Boney L (recording for the first time in 10 years), Nia Songbird, Vanya O and Saraléne , alongside first time collaborations with Trilla Jenna, Nanci Correia, Nish Wadada & Sis I-Leen. Each track vocal track effortlessly glides into an extend dub mix that showcases the sonic skills that Vibronics is known for.

"Leonardo arrives as a new artist in 2018 having been promptly picked up by Alan Fitzpatrick for his We Are The Brave label project. A string of releases are planned and in place for 2018 on WATB with offerings also coming here on his own imprint Etheric, which serves as an outlet for Leonardo's music outside of his ongoing relationship with We Are The Brave.
The Origin EP is a collection of four tracks that draw on primitive feelings, heavily influenced by recent trips travelling through Peru and South America. The EP has a trippy hedonistic feel and represents Leonardo's take on a tribal rave in the depths on the Amazonian Rainforest, while still drawing on futuristic and electronic elements.

The next chapter in Shaw Cuts comes from Russian duo Poima, who celebrate their debut record 'Twin Blades of Doom' - a fierce revenge mission and hunt after the infamous Ghost gang.
The pursuit opens with 'Triglau', its linear machine groove levelling a fraction of the Ghost Gang. Heads roll on a crimson floor.
Teaming up with mysterious masked warrior Inland, 'Triglau' morphs into a hypnotic trip. Pushing drum rhythms and swirling pads combine with nasty noise elements, propelling the hunt.
The remaining enemy members are already hatching their next evil move. On the way to Lu He Village where the Ghost Gang plans its next assault, analogue break-beat punches and swinging percussions weave a menacing tapestry of sound, crushing the 'Bones' of rogue creatures in its path.
Serbian slayer Regen arrives in force for the final showdown at Qi Dou Town where the Ghost Gang plans a huge heist. Armed with atmospheric pads and a soaring drum crescendo, his interpretation of 'Bones' ends the Ghost Gang tyranny in one fatal sweep. And the saga goes on...
