Iconic Warp mainstay Nightmares on Wax can now announce his long-anticipated return with new album Shape The Future. The marriage of soul, hip-hop, dub and timeless club sounds that N.O.W. has been mutating and perfecting for years finds perhaps its most fluid form yet on Shape The Future. Energized by globetrotting runs of studio sessions and DJ sets, this latest salvo is a masterpiece of contemporary and classic genre-blending that solidifies Nightmares On Wax's place as an inspirational electronic music figurehead.

‘Love Buzz’, originally released in 1969 on Shocking Blue's At Home, gained fame when Nirvana covered it as their debut single nearly 20 years later. The Ché Wax rework enhances its psychedelic drama with acid disco elements, making it a dance floor staple 55 years on.

On the flip, RAGA: In 1982, Indian musician Charanjit Singh fused traditional ragas with Roland TR303-driven disco in Ten Ragas To A Disco Beat, recognized as a precursor to acid house, predating Phuture’s Acid Tracks.

Ché Wax reimagines Ten Ragas with an electro beat inspired by early ‘80s New York music, bringing this hybrid version to vinyl for the first time.

Deep Inspiration Show stands for quality deep house, returning with “One More Wax” as part of their international artist series. Zarenzeit (Zürich) featuring Roger Versey (Arkansas) opens with “So Smooth,” offering rich keys, a sensual bassline, soulful loops, and dynamic vocals. Another formidable release by the mighty DJ Phantasy and the 15th repress we have done for Liquid Wax! How the hell did that happen so fast!?! And this is a classic, a total banger from back in the day which I am sure many of you will remember. The tracks were engineered by Alex Reece when he was assistant engineer to Jack Smooth at his Sound Entity Studios.

This is the return collaboration by DJ Phantasy with his old DJ pal Aphrodite. Their first collab appeared on Aphrodite's label back in 1993 (repressed by Vinyl Fanatiks in 2020). These two tracks were originally recorded at Aphrodite's studio in 1994.

The Amsterdam-based group NAUSYQA consists of six musicians from Portugal, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. They are influenced by movie soundtracks (such as Hayao Miyazaki's _'Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind_'), electronic music, post-rock, drum&bass, flamenco and contemporary jazz. The Outfit was one of the funkiest bands ever coming from The Caribbean. They showed (together with other top bands from Barbados like The BRC or The Organization) the potential of Spouge music and the many creative possibilities that this genre can lead to.

This single is one of the finest examples of Spouge and Funk blended perfectly together in an explosive, ultra funky cover of the Parliament's "Dr. Funkenstein", titled for the occasion "Dr. Spougenstien". Despite being an extremely rare single, this song used to be quite popular in Barbados, to the point where most people on the Island used to think this was an original song. B side "Theme From Peter Gunn" serves up a punchy and groovy Cosmic disco tune on the very popular Theme from the Peter Gunn tv show.

This single is proposed to you as a first issue on the newly born Lava On Wax Records, started by Dj and Collector Matteo Fava, who have been to Barbados multiple times and works together with former Wirl label since 2020. The release has been possible thanks to help of GUTS from France, who worked since the start of this project to the end in close collaboration with Matteo. American English is the second studio album by British new wave band Wax, which consisted of Andrew Gold and 10cc band member Graham Gouldman. The two got together after 10cc split up in 1983 and released a total of three studio albums, including the 1987 American English. The album grew into their most successful effort, largely due to the hit single “Bridge To Your Heart”, which charted in the top 10 in many European countries and remains their biggest hit to-date. The album spawned two more singles; “American English” and “In Some Other World”. The album’s front cover was designed by Storm Thorgerson, who is best known for closely working with Pink Floyd, in addition to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Def Leppard among others. American English is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on pink & purple marbled vinyl and includes an insert.
