Recorded in Italy in 1962, 'Chet Is Back!' highlights the iconic trumpeter cutting loose on such bop-oriented workouts as "Pent-Up House" and "Well, You Needn't." Backed skilfully by a young cadre of up- and- coming European musicians, including the stellar saxophonist Bobby Jaspar and guitarist Rene Thomas, Baker sounds marvellous in both ballads and up-tempo tunes. It includes a stellar Baker version of the immortal "Over the Rainbow."
Considered by many to be his finest single album, the 1962 LP Coltrane finds John Coltrane displaying all of the exciting elements that sparked brilliance both on tenor and soprano saxophones, The album features his classic quartet, with bassist Jimmy Garrison, drummer Elvin Jones, and especially the stellar McCoy Tyner, all of whom by this time had already integrated their passionate dynamics into the inner whole of the group.

We are delighted to announce that July 2023 is the month in which you will finally be able to know the new Apparel Wax product: Apparel Wax Mini. The Mini catalogue (dedicated to 7-inch vinyl) fits into the narrative of our masked hero as a sort of prequel, as the 'Mini' vinyl represents the 'childhood' of Apparel Wax, his life before its music started to be heard around the world. Another novelty is that the first release is double. In fact, APLWAXMINI001 and 002 will drop on the same day, both containing two tracks, one on each side. With a physical product of different size, we have also adapted the graphic design of the project, as you'll notice looking at the record. A new adventure begins in the world of the masked artist who, this time, will tell another musical story created by the now famous anonymous collective of phenomenal artists behind the project. APLWAX002's A side features a dynamic Disco/Dance touch and a vibrant funky feel while B side has a more Lo-Fi taste and a powerful rhythm section, both combining to create a burst of rhythm.

Farbige Neuauflage des dritten Albums 'Why Would I Watch' (2023) des US-Quartetts Hot Mulligan, das die neueste Welle aus Pop-Punk und Post-Emo und damit seine Entwicklung als eine der vielseitigsten und zutiefst bewegenden Bands des Emo-Undergrounds zementierte.
Dark, evocative beats engulfed by bold raw vocals: this is
TOTEK, the genre-defying electronic project of Allysha Joy and
Max Dowling.
In their own right, Allysha and Max both lay claim to an
extensive musical prowess: the former as a member of the
internationally-acclaimed nu-soul outfit 30/70 and her equally
revered solo project, the latter as a prolific producer, performer
and collaborator (Client Liaison, NO ZU, Parvyn and countless
others).
Born out of burn out and edging frustration for the pace and
complication of life at times, this collaboration came together
almost immediately. TOTEK found itself in the dark edges,
wanting to punch a little harder and move through it all quickly,
boldly, unafraid in relief. The chemistry held between Max and
Allysha found songs written in mere moments that expressed
something new that neither artist had been able to access
alone.
On face value, the six tracks on ttk.1 could feel musically
divergent: representing different idioms, different tempos and
different themes. Yet they are unified on a more holistic level
through their energy, ethos and character. TOTEK prefers to
view music in this way: what is the overall experience of a
record? Pushing boundaries and eschewing conventions has
been organically at the heart of TOTEK from the beginning. The
process of crafting a record was no different: The artists
intended to create a work that is characterful and unpredictable
yet unified by a throughline of potency and intensity.
TOTEK represents a masterful coming-together of influences: a
blend of multiple electronic idioms with a unique soul sensibility;
channelled through two creatively potent individuals. While their
music conjures shades of Dorian Concept, Jana Rush and
Flying Lotus, ultimately their sound is eclectic, elusive and
unique.

The excellent italian producer DJ Soch aka The italian stallion is back on skylax with the master from detroit keyboardist & lyricist Javonntee. And it's again a future classic; A perfect fusion of the old and new world. God only knows if this way of proceeding is lost today. A « deep » wonder.
Whether she’s channeling emo, pop or techno, Scott really just makes music the way she wants to hear it—whether that’s making percussion sound bolder, speeding up the tempo or maximizing the best part of the song. And as for songwriting, her dark humor and sharp social critiques are just as much a passionate display of her feelings as her pleas to be loved and understood. Her quips may be ~extremely online~, but the way she condenses complex emotions into playful, meaningful dialogues is universal. Scott released an EP titled Hazards in August of 2021, which strikes a balance between the musical styles she’s explored previously, including distorted pop and scratchy guitar songs. The EP contains three brand new tracks, plus updated versions of songs Scott wrote before Public Void and most of The Junkyard 2. “I hope that fans of my previous albums will each find their tastes represented in Hazards,” Scott says.

Scott has been taking piano lessons since she was eight years old growing up in California, and that instrumental talent is one of the most striking elements on the record. The songs reckoned with touchy subjects -- emotional labor, insecurity, healthcare -- with razor-sharp wit and care. Even if it was recorded poorly, the brilliance of the writing and performance still resonated. After that, she realized she had to do better, and so she unveiled Public Void in September. She ditched the piano, played with software, and gave her music a texture that was bolder, weirder, and catchier. Together, the two projects and Scott’s other singles have combined to amass 87.8 million on-demand U.S. streams, according to MRC data. The landscape of TikTok is cluttered, and hits are ephemeral, but Scott’s strike a unique chord and her image is constantly growing. When asked if she considers that music will be her full time job, she pauses, reluctant to think too far ahead. “I think, for the near future, yes,” she ultimately answers. “I’m definitely not leaving college for it. But the next couple of years are locked in.” As of April 2022, “Rät” is now a gold single. The album has streamed over 350M times in under 2 years.

DJ Phantasy co-production alongside his mate Simon aka DJ Kid Twist. This was produced at Jack Smooth’s studio and engineered by a young Alex Reece, who later found fame on Metalheadz.
