Angekündigt von astreinen Sommer- und Hangover-Hymnen (u.a. „discothèque with u“, „spaß am glas“),
kümmern sich Tiavo im kommenden Jahr auch um die Urlaubsplanung: Ihr neues Studioalbum „Hotel
Tiavo“ öffnet im Spätsommer 2026 seine Pforten! Vor allem ist das „Hotel Tiavo“ das womöglich einzige
Top-Etablissement der Welt, dessen Lobby zugleich als Dancefloor fungiert. Die Standardeditionen auf CD
und LP in transparenten roten Vinyl mit allen 24 Tracks erscheint am 28.08.2026.
„Hotel Tiavo“ ist das erste „richtige“ Konzeptalbum der Band: Nachdem sich der „absolute gewinner“-
Vorgänger eher beiläufig zu einem ultrasaarländischen „Einfache-Leute“-Konzeptalbum entwickelt habe,
wollten Leandros, Xaver & Co. dieses Mal einen konzeptionellen Rahmen abstecken, der richtig viel Raum
für Neues bietet – neue Einflüsse, neue Perspektiven, neue Umwege über den Indie-Dancefloor und durchs
Tiavo-Universum. Große Ereignisse werfen ihre Schatten voraus, so auch die feierliche Eröffnung des „Hotel Tiavo“: 24 Suiten, Schicksale, Storys – nein, Songs (oder: „Hymnen über Mikrothemen, die noch
keine Songs haben“), mit denen das saarländische Duo den eigenen Orbit sprengt und sich genau deshalb
treubleibt. Man sieht sich in der Hotelbar „Tropical“…

Zum 20-jährigen Jubiläum erscheint A Certain Trigger gemeinsam mit der 2006er B-Sides- und Demo-Compilation Missing Songs als hochwertige 2LP auf schwarzem Vinyl im Gatefold-Cover. Die Zusammenstellung enthält seltene B-Seiten und Demo-Aufnahmen aus den UK-Singles dieser Ära und wird ergänzt durch ein beidseitig bedrucktes, farbiges 60 × 90 cm Poster auf luxuriösem Kunstdruckpapier. Ein Sammlerstück für alle Fans des energiegeladenen Indie-Rock-Sounds von Maxïmo Park.

A new album by four-piece band District Five from Zurich is always a good moment to reassess one’s own expectations. After Burnt Sugar 2022 and Pause 2023, Come Closer is the third album by Vojko Huter, Paul Amereller, Tapiwa Svosve and Xaver Rüegg, which mixes a wide range of references without ever being bothered by the commitment to one genre only. Imagine the band as something like a catalyst, through which its members constantly process what they are influenced by. And these influences are in constant motion: derived from the old-fashioned and amicable interest of collaboratively making music, the band comes together in their weekly ritual, dedicated to this synthesis of interests. At one point, this unrestricted game was called jazz, but even a generous concept can become too narrow. Which is why the genre remains an important influence, but not the only point of reference. Rather, its qualities are the root system from which everything else grows.

Case in point for this expansion of possibilities is the first track on Come Closer, which, and here comes a genre attribution after all, moves the album into the vicinity of dream pop. “Another One” centers the voice, evoking old and new memories alike. Accompanied by an adequately slowed-down guitar riff and rhythm, the musical framework remains stable before collapsing in a nervous, shimmering manner. Ready to be assembled anew. On the following seven tracks, District Five takes on this task, referencing post-punk motifs as well as progressive, meandering song structures. Condensed and expansive at the same time, driven by a desire for collective play.

This trusting cooperation between District Five’s members is ultimately the constant of Come Closer. Although the four musicians seem determined to find a different way to organize themselves as a band on almost every song, this conversational approach holds the album together on an intuitive level. And in the end, the only question that remains is: is it the members that influence the band, or is it the other way around?

Nach seinem Debüt-Produzenten-Tape “AKA DER COACH” in 2021 folgt am 10.03.2023 nun der lang ersehnte Nachfolger “AKA DER COACH II” – und die Tracklist lässt allen Rap Liebhaber*innen das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen. Torky Tork vereint die Crème de la Crème der Deutschrap-Elite aus Helden wie Dendemann als auch der neuen Wilden wie Young Meyerlack oder Xaver und ist damit verantwortlich für Featuring Tracks, die es so noch nie zu hören gab!

The OUER guys just live down the road from us in Berlin and we have been crossing paths many times these past years so it is with great joy we can finally present a full EP with their unique approach to electronic music on Dirt Crew Recordings. Since their debut on 'HEIST' in 2016 Xaver and Oliver have consistently pushed their sound and production, on their own OUER imprint they released four EP's up till now and the latest called 'E' is just a few weeks old as we speak. The A side opens with the title track 'Stingray Nebula', a bliss composition of layered arpeggios underlined by a deep sub bass, building steadily towards etheric strings setting in and descending again with a break beat ending that builds perfect grounds for the following dance floor stomper 'Undine'. That second A side track is a great mix of Deep House and Electronica and is what makes OUER's music so special, almost entering trance territories here but keeping those Chicago and Detroit references alive. When we head over to the B side we encounter some new tracks that really made us want to release this EP in the first place. The beautiful 'Thales' contains live bass and percussive instrumentation and is a crossover indie-tronica gem. Following that is the deep 'Inside' where an 'emo' piano themed House jam meets clever vocal sampling and filtered synth stabs to produce a great going groove. Closing out we have some real ambience electronica for you in 'Train Ride to Bratsk', again played mostly live and using acoustic instruments recorded in their Berlin studio the OUER guys are crossing borders again and turned out this piece of goodness.
