Milkcrate Mondays always deal in unabashed dancefloor fun, but that never comes at the expense of style and quality in celebration of the party of the same name's open-minded ethos. On the A-side, Spinobi delivers a dancehall-leaning refix of 'My Boo', reshaping the familiar hook with punchy rhythm and bass weight. The flip belongs to Palomo, whose 'My Boo' cumbia edit turns the freestyle classic into a rolling Latin groove built for late-night sets. Mastered by resident DJ Satin, this is another gem that continues the collective's tradition of crate-digger creativity and genre-crossing selections aimed squarely at moving the room.

Tripmode made a superb start to life with its first EP and is now back with more goodness, this time from family member Daniele Temperilli. We're told he is inspired by 'love, freedom and matured childishness' and he brings some big bass and bouncy minimal house to this 12". 'Beatback Haze' is tight and clipped in its tech funk, then 'Peace What?!' Brings more low-swinging drums and a prying bassline topped with big hits and warped pads. 'BeesTreb' taps into a darker vibe with gritty drum textures and more rapping, farting bass that's perfect for a darkened room. Last of all is 'Pachyderm', which bounces and swings, with macho drums but a sense of lithe energy that keeps you on your toes.

After a relatively quiet year - by his standards at least - Glyne Braithwaite aka Risk Assessment is back with three more simultaneously released EPs. This one, number eight in the long-serving producer's ongoing series, boasts four more happy-go-lucky, party-friendly workouts. Check first 'Love Music Part 1', where disco samples from a cover of an O'Jays classic (including the familiar piano refrain) rise above a typically thickset house groove, before admiring the more urgent, excitable and musically detailed disco-house rush of 'Son of a Gun'. The fun continues on the flipside, where 'Want You Back (Kitchen Disco mix)' - all shuffling beats, lovely Clavinet licks and female vocalisations - is joined by the similarly celebratory 70s soul-goes-disco-house goodness of 'Welcome (Remix)'.

Josiah aka JdB is a key creative at the heart of the New Palm crew. Not only does he DJ and produce, but also he is a resident at Gradient Campout and a member of LA's PrintShop collective. He has a sound rooted in dubby drums and cavernous grooves, both of which are evident here. 'Feels Good' is a heavy warm-up sound with sparse chords slowly ramping things up, while 'Surface Area' is icy minimalism with abstract sines and FX. 'Come Over' pulls back to a more liquid dub roller and 'Dante Is Late' is an ambient soundscape with plenty of tape hiss and curious melodies drawing you in deep. Stefan Bitke of Scape has taken care of the mastering so these sound superb.

Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Conway's legendary tape with DJ Green Lantern "Reject On Steroids" with a vinyl reissue in collaboration with Drumwork Music. Tape features guest appearances by Royce Da 5'9" and Benny, and productions by DJ Green Lantern. For the occasion we have two different artworks by Shk, limited to 1500 units each.

International DJ and collector Elado is well known to edit lovers for his work on the likes of Funkyjaws Music, Razor N Tape and Eddie C's Red Motorbike. He has been digging in his vaults again, this time for Scruniversal, and turns out a pair of blazing Brazilian edits. First up is 'Sabor' ,which is a tight, funky sound that sways low with lush claps and wandering basslines, but the vocal harmonies are what make it, and your heart, soar. 'Debbie' then follows off with some soft, honours Portuguese soul vocals and instrumental disco-funk grooves that are super sophisticated and perfect to go with a cocktail at sundown somewhere nice.

PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi is the compilation album from Paper Route EMPIRE, the label founded by late Memphis legend, Young Dolph, and home to the equally iconic Key Glock and an impressive roster of additional artists including Snupe Bandz & Big Moochie Grape. Including the hit songs, "Talking To My Scale," "I Do This," & "Mister Glock 2," as well as deep cuts like "Broccoli & Cheese," this album is a must have for Southern rap fans and encapsulates a time when PRE was at the height of their game, shortly before Young Dolph's untimely passing. 2xLP pressed on Red Snake Eyes Galaxy vinyl, and housed in a gatefold jacket. 2026 Repress Favorite Recordings proudly presents Voiciii, the 3rd and new album by Voilaaa, an immersive dip into its Afro-Disco universe spread across 14 tracks. Needless to say you’ll find in this new LP all the ingredients that made him famous: strong dancefloor-friendly festive bangers, irresistible funky arrangements and an undeniable sense of humor and irony.

Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart, behind Voilaaa, is as often surrounded by amazing vocal featurings from previous LP’s regulars (Pat Kalla, Lass) but also new voices you may already have heard on its recent EPs (David Walters, Rama Traore, Ayuune Suule), as well as the saxophonist Boris Pokora. The LP is also an occasion to pay tributes to major artists of the African sound, such as Fela Kuti (on “Water No Get Enemy”), or Manu Dibango (“Manu Écoute Ça” and “Tenor Jam For Manu”).

Canadian minimal titan Akufen dominated the scene at the turn of the new millennium and has a fine back catalogue full of classics. Now the Montreal man is back with new music though and it's like he never went away - 'Breakin' Free' (feat Dominique Fils Aime) is a slow, smoochy sound with low-slung drums and r&b vocals, while 'You Naughty Scamp' is a little more propulsive as it rolls through deep house and bright, textured synth melody. 'Rubber Ducky' is another playful jam with jazzy top notes, sampled vocals cut up and smeared through the mix and languid bass funk. 'Sensitive People (With So Much To Give)' is another symphonic and soulful house sound.

Ayô Dele — which means "joy comes to me" in Yoruba — is neither a slogan nor a promised miracle. It is a breath of fresh air. That of an album born in the interstices, where the word find their way between shadow and light, between the disorder of the worldand the impulse to be .
At the heart of the project, Julien Gervaix and Damien Tesson, multi-instrumentalist beatmakers, share a groove language that is both dense and airy, where every detail breathes and finds its place.
With background in Afrobeat, Dub, Funk, Soul, Roots Reggae, and Electronic Music, they treat the studio to be their playground. Their music is a hybrid groove that speaks to the body: round or bouncing basslines, brass oscillating between melodic warmth and funk energy, textured guitars, arpeggios, enveloping Rhodes, clavinet that slides, presses, and embraces. Everything comes together with precision and flexibility, in an inventive and warm composition. The meeting of their experiences and sensibilities gives rise to open, generous music, made for dancing and vibration.
With Ayô Dele , Ireke is embarking on a new chapter: the duo is refining its style,allowing the voices to breathe. The groove remains the driving force but opens up to intimacy. This intimacy is carried by two unique female voices: Nayel Hoxo, a Beninese-Nigerian singer/rapper, and Agnès Hélène, who has already made a name for herself on Tropikadelic with "Petit a Petit". They don't sing side-by-side; they coexist, respond to each other, and sometimes intersect. But each follows her own path: Nayel, with the power of her words in Yoruba, offers songs of elevation, healing, and resistance — a light born in the cracks Agnès explores these cracks themselves: what wavers within us, what reinvents itself in bonds, glances, and gestures.
For one track, Olivya (Dowdelin) joins this dialogue in Martinican Creole. Her sunny soul sketches the contours of gentle resistance and celebrates rediscovered light.

Few artists can make chaos sound this fun. Steel Beans, the self-titled album from the genre-bending one-man band, is a wild ride through rock, funk, jazz, and whatever else happens to cross the radar of Everett, WA’s Jeremy DeBardi — the multi-instrumentalist and mad scientist behind it all. Known for his jaw-dropping live performances where he sings, shreds guitar, and drums at the same time, Steel Beans brings that same unfiltered energy to tape, capturing the spirit of a garage jam gone cosmic.

The album moves effortlessly from fuzzed-out psych-rock to greasy funk breakdowns and tongue-in-cheek lyricism, mixing humor and virtuosity in equal measure. It’s unpredictable, unpolished in all the right ways, and full of personality — the kind of record that feels alive because it’s never trying to be perfect. Steel Beans isn’t just an album; it’s a reminder that music can still be weird, raw, fun, and ridiculously entertaining. Sweeping Promises wurden der weltweiten Punk-Underground-Szene durch ihr Debütalbum "Hunger for a Way Out" bekannt, das sich während des Pandemie-Lockdowns zu einem der größten Überraschungserfolge der Musikszene entwickelte. 2023 legten sie mit ,Good Living is Coming for You" nach, einer satirischen, hyperkritischen Abrechnung mit dem Kapitalismus, die es auf die ,Album des Jahres"-Listen von Pitchfork, NPR, Paste und der BBC schaffte, um nur einige zu nennen. Bassistin/Sängerin Lira Mondal und Gitarrist Caufield Schnug beschlossen, ihren Ansatz auf ihrer dritten LP ein paar Grad weiterzuschrauben. Das große Thema von "You Say I Romanticize" wird bereits im Titel angedeutet. Ausgehend von einer Textzeile aus dem Album-Closer ,Write Lightly" - einer Erzählung darüber, wie die Bedeutung des Selbstausdrucks beim Schreiben durch ,professionelle" Bedenken zunichte gemacht wird - sind viele der Charaktere, die Sängerin/Bassist Mondal hier ausarbeitet, Ausgestoßene, von der Gesellschaft an den Rand gedrängt und zu Fanatikern für eine Fülle spezifischer Anliegen geworden. Das viszerale Songwriting auf You Say I Romanticize wird von einem ebenso viszeralen musikalischen Ansatz begleitet. Sweeping Promises holten den Live-Schlagzeuger Spenser Gralla in die Aufnahmesessions, um den Songs eine ähnliche Dringlichkeit wie bei ihren Live-Auftritten zu verleihen. Die Raserei der Ausführung zeigt sich auch in Mondals Gesangsdarbietungen. Neben der Liebe von Sweeping Promises zu ihrer künstlerischen Gemeinschaft existiert auch eine Schattenseite - entstanden aus Sonderlingen, die ihren ,Ausgestoßenen"-Status in lebendige Kunst und Punkrock-Musik umwandeln. "You Say I Romanticize" greift das Ethos auf, das Mondal und Schnug entwickelt haben, und erforscht die obsessiven, fanatischen Aspekte des Ausgestoßenseins und der Isolation durch die Mainstream-Gesellschaft.

There is an ecstatic melancholy in Dent May’s music. The bedroom pop auteur’s songs are both bittersweet and exuberant, breaking your heart while you can’t help but sing along.

Over six albums, May has built a wildly diverse discography spanning 17 years. He has typically worked alone, assembling perfect pop gems on his laptop, playing nearly every instrument himself. But when he began preparations for his new album, May’s tried and true process suddenly felt stale.

The Big One brings together both the scrappy DIY ethos of Elephant 6 Collective and early The Magnetic Fields with May’s lifelong affinity for the great ’70s singer-songwriters like Harry Nilsson and Ram-era Paul McCartney. The songs balance a clear-eyed view of the world with a cautious optimism, looking at the everyday experiences of disappointment and heartbreak with a sense of possibility for the good that may still come. Things might seem bleak, May tells us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be thankful for our brief time here on Planet Earth.

The title track is the beating heart of the record. Over a steady drumbeat, piano, and accordion, a melancholy May sings, “The big one’s coming, the big one’s on its way,” promising disaster. But May won’t wallow in the misery: “Thank the Lord for all my friends/We can make it ’til the end/No we can’t stop now/Who knows? Tomorrow it all could turn around.” For May, hope comes in the form of others.

It’s with this joyful melancholy Dent May draws in the world. Everything might be ending, the planet could be careening off into chaos, but tonight there’s a party down the block and you’re invited. Be sure and bring your friends.
