The whole of the UK mourned when Chas Hodges passed away in September 2018, and the parade of stars (including Eric Clapton, Joe Brown, Gary Brooker, Ralph McTell and Albert Lee) who performed at the tribute concert in December that year is testament to the regard in which Chas and his musical partner Dave Peacock are held.

Originally released on the duo’s Rockney record label in 1981, the “Mustn’t Grumble” album includes their two biggest hit singles – “Ain’t No Pleasing You” (# 2) and “Rabbit” (# 8) – as well as “I Miss Ya
Girl” and “Turn That Noise Down”.

This special edition has been mastered from the recently-found original ¼” production masters, and now also contains a newly-created inner sleeve. This features all the lyrics, photos, singles packshots and a brand new note by Dave Peacock himself about the writing and recording of the album.

Patrice Bart Williams, also known as Patrice, is a singer,composer, producer and director from Germany and Sierra Leone. His career took off in 1999 with the release of the Lions EP. In 20 years, he has released a dozen albums. His music is a blend of reggae, soul, punk, folk and hip-hop. Over the years,
he has established his own unique style. He settled in Jamaica in 2020 and decided to build a studio in the
middle of the forest. This atypical location became a meeting place for artists and inspired Patrice to explore new territory. The "Super Sundays", live concerts held on the studio rooftop, were attended
by artists such as Richie Spice and Jesse Royal. In 2022, Patrice unveiled the Super Album, an unplugged best of where he reinterpreted his greatest hits including 'Soulstorm', 'Hippies With Guns', and 'Burning Bridges'.
Patrice returns in 2023 with a new album entitled '9', marked by rebirth and the symbolism of the colour blue. This album is the result of seven years' work, a veritable introspection into the depths of his emotions. "I was born on the 9th, the day my grandfather passed away. The notion of rebirth has always been present in my life, from my very first day. For my ninth studio album, I took the time to withdraw, to rebuild myself. The last seven years have been devoted to self-discovery, and it's this inner journey that has given life to this album." - Patrice

To celebrate the 45th anniversary of iconic Dutch jazz label Timeless Records, Music On Vinyl is releasing a series that features albums that are part of the Timeless Records legacy and will be released mainly throughout 2021/2022.

Archie Shepp’s Black Ballads first came out in 1992 and celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2022. This 2LP features eleven great jazz ballads including classics such as “Embraceable You” and “Georgia On My Mind” by the tenor saxophonist. Shepp is supported by pianist Horace Parlan, bassist Wayne Dockery and drummer Steve McRaven.

To celebrate the legacy of Wim Wigt’s Timeless Records 45th Anniversary, Music On Vinyl is releasing the 45th anniversary Jazz Series. Each release includes the Timeless Records insert showing the first 8th albums on limited coloured vinyl.

Australian rock band Tonight Alive burst onto the scene in 2008 as teenagers, blending power pop and rock, quickly finding success with their debut album, ‘What Are You Scared Of?’, and becoming a crowd favourite at festivals like the Vans Warped Tour and Bamboozle.  ‘Underworld’ is the band’s final and most organic album yet, a raw and real insight to a band reconnecting with their authentic selves.  One of the songs that emerged from the sessions is ‘Temple’, the song that launched the new era of the band and one written when lead vocalist Jenna McDougall was experiencing severe depression and fatigue - the lyrics penned when she was totally entrapped in being sick in her mind, body and soul. Neo Noir Swing! The modern Les Paul from the Dark Side! PO and his band catapult you right into a ball room filled with misfits and goons and smack you with 12 songs including the terrific cover version of Niagara's 80's disco hit L'amour a la plage Pierre Omer was born in London of an Indian father and a Swiss mother. He is a founder member of the legendary Swiss funeral Rock'n'Roll band The Dead Brothers (guitars and accordion). In 2009 he started several solo projects along with Robert Butler (the Shit, the Miracle Workers), Roland Bucher and Christian Aregger (Blind Butcher) in 2013 the Swing Revue was born, along with: Pierre Omer: vocals, guitar Julien Israelian: drums, Géraldine Schenkel: Fender Rhodes, Christoph Gantert: vocals, trumpet, and the one and only Lalla Morte: Sings Fakir and Dances. They played many shows and festivals such as: Binic Folk Blues Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Buskers Bern, Festival Les Athénéennes, Pod'Ring Biel, Vinelz, Le Cirque Electric Paris etc. This new album is recorded by the band itself in true DIY-style - Pierre already produced some Voodoo Rhythm Records (mama rosin) in the past - and was mixed in Berlin's Big Snuff Studio with Nene Baratto (movie star junkies, black lips, Heat, Jimi Tenor, King khan, Black Mass Rising. The whole album Stands out with Pierre's amazing song writing skills, the lazy laid back dark vocal and his irritating guitar playing, along with Christop Gantert's devil possessed trumpet playing. The Music of the swing era of the 30's and 40's, combined with a garage spirit and an eye for everything else make for a special album. Released in 1976, Eternity was Alice Coltrane's first album for Warner Bros. after eight wondrous records on Impulse! Combining the drones and textures of India, the gospel and R&B of her Detroit youth and the dissonance of modern classical composition, Coltrane's music in the '70s would become increasingly difficult to categorize.

Having moved a few years earlier to California (where she founded the Vedantic Center, an Ashram for spiritual studies), Coltrane stretches out on Eternity – incorporating various musical styles, including a stirring adaptation of Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring – and the results are dazzling, both in sonic scope and emotional range

Opener "Spiritual Eternal" sways between Alice's exploratory organ and the dramatic swell of lush strings. A meditative solo piece for harp, "Wisdom Eye," precedes the rollicking rhythms of "Los Caballos," which showcases some of her finest soloing.

"Om Supreme" is the album's first track to be built around bhajans (Hindu devotional songs). Featuring graceful keyboards backed by an angelic choir, this piece hints at the ecstatic devotional music that she would later make with members of her Ashram.

While Coltrane would delve deeper into her spiritual journeys and continue to expand her musical interests on subsequent LPs, Eternity remains a vivid and compelling display of her unique vision, myriad talents and passions.

Reiko Kudo first debuted on the Tokyo underground music scene in 1980 with NOISE, a duo which apart from herself under her then maiden name Reiko Omura on voice, guitar and trumpet featured Tori Kudo on organ. Their only album TENNO (1980 on Engel) is probably one of the most outstanding and uncompromising records of all time.

Like other pioneering female producers from Japan such as NON (of NON BAND), PHEW and HACO, who had all begun their startling careers in the early days of the japanese Punk era, Reiko Kudo can surely be regarded as one of the most unique, uncategorisable and daring voices in the entire field of electronic and experimental music ever.

RICE FIELD SLOWLY RIPING IN THE NIGHT was REIKO KUDO's second album under her own name. It features TORI KUDO (MAHER SHALAL HASH BAZ) and SAYA and TAKASHI UENO (TENNISCOATS) on various instruments. The recordings took place in 2000 at Reiko' s and Tori's house in the rural surroundings of Shikoku island.

All recorded music on this album sounds like it originates in a parallel dimension where time and key signatures simply don't exist, Some might describe this as outsider music, but this doesn't really begin to do justice to the quality of the tracks, there is nothing accidental or forced here, this is simply music created in a very different way. Yet again REIKO KUDO had conceived of something utterly beautiful.

"After producing the album "Souvenir de mauve" with Maher Shalal Hash Baz which we released on our label Majikick, the idea came to us, to release Reiko Kudo's work. For Reiko's work, we brought our recording equipment from Tokyo to Shikoku and recorded the entire album at her house.

The piano was positioned in a room with a high ceiling. We would set up our small recording equipment in the room and started to record. The basic tracks were recorded without any rehearsal and just a few overdubs were added on top of it. To have a distant sound on the recording, Tori played trumpet in the next room. The choir was standing outside the house, singing "Enya-totto, enya-totto" through the open window. It was early spring, I remember that it was still a bit cold and the members of the choir were freezing outside.

Reiko plays only at certain times of the day, so that we were able to complete only two or three recordings a day. Therefore we had plenty of free time. We went to a hot spring, to a cafe, or we tried pottery on a spinning wheel at Tori's workshop. It was a very rewarding time.

When this album was finished, we brought it to her to listen to. She said happily "I think this is the best work I have ever done." We felt that all our efforts were richly rewarded. On 9, 10 and 11 November 1989, the Olympia shuddered to life under the rebellious anthems of the youth movement, before the Bérus signed the final armistice of alternative rock.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Les Bérus were at the height of their powers, and you could hear it. A two-hour concert in front of a packed house, where each song is the subject of a stage production and where metropolitan Indians, rebellious Chinese, internationalist deserters... follow one another.

Viva Bertaga is widely regarded as one of Bérurier Noir's major albums, thanks to the vast panorama it offers of the band's repertoire and the energy that emanates from its live versions.

Toy Machine skateboard's seminal 1996 video “Welcome To Hell” features a unique and progressive patchwork of skateboarders, most of which would become icons in their world, and helped redefine
what the modern skateboarding video could be. A young Joseph Shabason felt that impact. The acclaimed musician hit rewind on his VHS copy of “Welcome To Hell” hundreds of times in his youth,
each watch as thrilling as the last. That invigorating, improvisational, full-body experience of skateboarding is one that Shabason likens to jazz, where a shared language exists between the wheels and woodwinds. The way the skateboarder and musician command that language is what distinguishes them, adding definition to the mercurial concept of “style.” This connection becomes most apparent in collaboration; ensembles of skaters and musicians are a noisy, creative bunch.

Reflecting on this relationship and the Toy Machine classic would ultimately lead Shabason to wonder: what does hell sound like? The answer was a concept album that, like his previous records, lives in
the personal. One that, much like skateboarding itself, would push him to try something new: rescoring "Welcome To Hell". Out on October 20th, 2023.

Shrouded in darkness for over a decade, ever since the disturbing events that lead to the band's inception, B R I Q U E V I L L E have been bewitchingaudiences with a hypnotizing dirge that evokes the heaviest elements of doom metal and post-rock before mixing them with eerie field recordings, found sounds and haunting traditional instrumentation. On November 3rd, 2023, as winter takes back the night, B R I Q U E V I L L E will unveil `IV' - their latest exploration into the darkest depths of the soul. The Belgian collective's pulsating, repetitive rhythms and penetrating, guttural guitar work return alongside a more prominent vocal presence with ethereal melodies and brooding lyricism further exploring the deeper, richer sonic palette first heard on 2020's `Quelle.' Drawing from members of different local scenes, B R I Q U E V I L L E first assembled with the ambition of improvising around a single, droned note. Having latched onto something raw and powerful, the band suddenly found themselves confronted by a stranger telling tales of a hatred years in the making. Floored by such a fateful meeting, B R I Q U E V I L L E have anonymised themselves behind sweeping black robes and occult golden masks ever since; unifying the collective as one sound, a singular faceless force hellbent on converting audiences around the world. Cold War Kids have announced their 10th studio album, Cold War Kids, that will arrive on November 3 via AWAL. The band’s singer and songwriter Nathan Willett describes: " This is our self titled record . Everybody gets one . This felt like the right time because the sound of this record is the sound that makes Cold War kids unlike any other . I’m so proud of these songs. They took a long time to come together . The longing and struggle and joy I wanted to express are personal to me and i am so excited to share it with our fans who have come with us on the journey.”
The epic tale of Cold War Kids has long been informed by deeply personal songcraft, enthusiastic experimentation, and an avowed commitment towards forward motion. The band continues their ascent, becoming one of the biggest rock bands of their generation amassing more than half a billion streams, consistently churning out alternative radio hits, selling out tours and headlining festivals worldwide.
Over the course of nine studio albums and numerous EPs, Cold War Kids have become a major part of the modern musical landscape, with “First,” their Platinum-scanned 2015 single, named as the Most Played track at Alternative radio outlets nationwide over the last decade. Citing sources from early Dub influenced Clash, Blitz and The Modern Lovers - Spiritual Cramp exist in a strange vacuum somewhere between David Byrne's oversized suit and a bar fight between a bunch of drunk goons on Polk Street in SF. Hate for the police, the government and the status quo are reoccurring themes in Bingham's lyrics. The sounds borrow from the past, echoes of late 70's / early 80's working class rock and punk, which function on the upbeat, showcasing very bright guitars yet generating darker vocal rhythms and darker patterning.

200 Stab Wounds is a death metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. They formed in 2019. Their lyrical themes include death and decay. They released their debut EP Piles of Festering Decomposition in 2020. On Nov. 12, 2021, they released their first album, Slave to the Scalpel through Maggot Stomp. 200SW played the 2022 Psycho Vegas Festival. They are currently signed to Metal Blade Records and re-release STTS on 11/3/24.
